Pro-Abortion GOP Gov. Signs ‘Nasty Woman Act’

Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker, a pro-abortion Republican, signed the “NASTY Woman Act” into law Friday. The legislation repeals a 173-year-old law banning abortion in the state.

The bill’s proponents argue that it is necessary just in case Roe v. Wade is overturned so that the state is not able to enforce that law again.

The NASTY Woman Act – short for Negating Archaic Statutes Targeting Young Women – also repealed other laws that have gone enforced for generations, including bans on adultery and restrictions on contraception.

Critics argue that the bill is unnecessary, since these older laws are largely moot due to a 1981 rulingby the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court that upheld a right to abortion access. . .

The Republican governor has long been an advocate of abortion and contraception, Last November, he signed a law requiring the state’s insurers to cover birth control without a copay that included only a narrow exemption for churches and religious institutions who might object on religious grounds. CNN Gets Slapped With Reality Asking About the Last Time a President Sided With America’s Enemies

It’s as if the past eight years never happened. In the wake of the Russia collusion hysteria engulfing the Democratic Party and the liberal media, the Left is becoming obsessed with this notion that Donald Trump committed treason. It reached a boiling point after Trump’s meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki. It was not Trump’s best moment. There could have been legitimate criticism lobbed his way. Instead, we got a meltdown of epic proportions. The outrage machine was set to 11. So, as Russia-Trump-Treason Theater reached its 90th Act, in which not a shred of solid evidence to corroborate collusion has been found, CNN decided to ask “what happened the last time a President chose America’s enemies over its friends?” The piece discusses Reconstruction and Andrew Johnson, as if we have to go that far to find what this person thinks is an example of an American president chose our enemies over our allies. Uh, do you remember Barack Obama and the Iran deal? Yeah, that seems like a prime example:

Yeah, that’s another stepping of the rake right there, but let’s go into this piece for a little bit. It’s quite…entertaining:

Donald Trump likes to compare himself to Andrew Jackson, but the Andrew he really resembles is Andrew Johnson. What they have in common are delusions of personal grandeur and a tainted ascent to the presidency. Trump was elected by a minority of the American electorate, with help from the vagaries of the Electoral College system and from considerable Russian interference.

Johnson became president thanks to an assassin’s bullet. While Johnson immodestly compared himself to Jesus and Moses, Trump claims he is the best at everything, even boasting recently on Twitter that his popularity among Republicans exceeds that of Abraham Lincoln.

Disney Park Dwellers Can Thank Liberal Enviros for This Annoying New Policy

Another major company has hopped on the straw ban bandwagon. The Walt Disney Company announced Thursday that it will stop using single-use plastic straws and stirrers in all of its locations by mid-2019. This includes all parks across the globe, except the Disney Tokyo Resort.

The move will reportedly result in the reduction of more than 175 million straws and 13 million stirrers annually—and that’s not the only way the company hopes to shrink its plastic footprint.

Disney will reduce the number of single-use plastic shopping bags in its parks and on cruise ships, as well. Reusable bags will be available for purchase instead. Polystyrene cups will reportedly be phased out of parks, too.

Guests staying in Disney-owned hotels or Disney Cruise Line staterooms may also notice refillable in-room amenities rather than those mini shampoo and conditioner bottles. The company estimates this will reduce plastic waste by 80 percent.

“Eliminating plastic straws and other plastic items are meaningful steps in our long-standing commitment to environmental stewardship,” Bob Chapek, Chairman, Disney Parks, Experiences, and Consumer Products said in the news release. “These new global efforts help reduce our environmental footprint, and advance our long-term sustainability goals.” (Read more from “Disney Park Dwellers Can Thank Liberal Enviros for This Annoying New Policy” HERE)

Ocasio-Cortez Makes Most Idiotic Statement Ever on Twitter

Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has said a lot of stupid things.

She claimed that Israel was occupying Palestine and, when pressed, admitted she did not know what she was talking about. She can’t differentiate between socialism and Democratic socialism. She said she is working to flip a congressional seat “red” in November. She admitted that she can’t win by having to persuade people her ideology is the best possible option. Heck, she even thought that a recent parody video that mocked her was a serious attempt to deceive voters. . .

. . .

Keep in mind that this statement is coming from an admitted socialist who believes in taxing citizens to pay for costly government programs that end up harming the economy. . .

The Trump administration threw out the Iran deal because it was not tough enough, has worked to denuclearize North Korea, has implemented a travel ban on nations that are breeding grounds for terrorism, wants to build a wall on the Southern Border to stop illegal entry into the U.S., and has largely defeated ISIS. . .

There are numerous examples of actions that the Trump administration has taken that refute this claim, the best of which is the fact that the administration has insisted on following through on campaign promises despite knowing that the media is giving them overwhelmingly negative coverage because of it. Russia Is Already Meddling in the 2018 Election – Here’s Who They’re Targeting This Time

By The Blaze. According to a report from the Daily Beast, the same Russian intelligence agency behind the cyberattack in the 2016 election is already meddling in the 2018 midterm election. . .

The report said that the alleged hacking attempts were aimed at staffers for Senator Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.), and used the same tactics that were successful against former Hillary Clinton campaign manager John Podesta.

The attacks involved links sent to the staffers’ email addresses that were made to look like official notices from their websites requesting a password change. The link provided also mimes official email address change websites, but sends the information to hackers.

“We did discover that a fake Microsoft domain had been established as the landing page for phishing attacks, and we saw metadata that suggested those phishing attacks were being directed at three candidates who are all standing for elections in the midterm elections,” said [Tom] Burt. . .

“Russia continues to engage in cyber warfare against our democracy. I will continue to speak out and press to hold them accountable,” McCaskill said to the Daily Beast. “While this attack was not successful, it is outrageous that they think they can get away with this. I will not be intimidated. Russians Unsuccessfully Tried to Hack Computers of Democratic Sen. Claire Mccaskill

By NPR. Russian hackers trying to influence the 2018 elections made an unsuccessful attempt to breach the computer system of Missouri Sen. Claire McCaskill, one of this fall’s most vulnerable Democrats.

The Daily Beast reported that McCaskill is the first known target of the Kremlin’s plot to interfere in this fall’s midterm elections after targeting the U.S. in the 2016 presidential election.

McCaskill has been a critic of Russia and of President Trump — who has at times doubted that any such interference happened at all and decried attempts by special counsel Robert Mueller to investigate as a “witch hunt.” At a press conference last week after his summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Trump appeared to believe Putin’s denials over the conclusions of U.S. intelligence agencies, though he later tried to walk that back.

In a statement, McCaskill said she “will not be intimidated” by the attempts, which occurred around August 2017.

“Russia continues to engage in cyber warfare against our democracy. I will continue to speak out and press to hold them accountable,” McCaskill said in a statement. “While this attack was not successful, it is outrageous that they think they can get away with this. Whoopi Is Finished: Judge Jeanine Puts Goldberg in Her Place

In a week where serious events took up most of the news, we had the Whoopi Goldberg/Judge Jeanine feud to add a bit of bizarre levity to the whole thing.

Pirro, as you may have heard, was invited on ABC’s “The View” only to be summarily told “goodbye” by co-host Goldberg when Pirro brought up violence committed by illegal immigrants. Because clearly, when someone gives you the phlegmatic attempt at summary dismissal that appending “goodbye” to the end of an argument entails, they’ve obviously won. If there’s anything that my years of scrutinizing public discourse has taught me, it’s that. . .

Pirro had the last laugh on her Fox News show Saturday, giving some gratitude to Goldberg for the free advertisement.

“I do want to thank Whoopi and the ladies for helping to make my book No. 1 on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. So go out and get a copy if you haven’t already,” a smiling Pirro said during her show, according to the Daily Wire.

“All of you saw it, and most of you probably heard both my and Whoopi’s version of what you didn’t see after I was thrown off the set. ICE Protest Leader Arrested as Sick Pedophile History Exposed

By Conservative Tribune. Micah Rhodes, the 24 year old leader of the anti-Trump protest group “Portland’s Resistance,” has been arrested… again.

Earlier this year, according to Oregon Live, Rhodes was convicted “on three counts of second-degree sexual abuse for having illicit sexual contact with a 17-year-old girl in Washington County and a 17-year-old boy in Multnomah County.”

Rhodes was 20 and 21 years old when he committed the sexual abuse in 2014 and 2015.

Rather than follow the state sentencing guidelines and send Rhodes to jail for two to two-and-a-half years, Multonomah County Circuit Judge Jerry Hodson and Washington County Circuit Judge Janelle Wipper decided in separate hearings to order five years of probation for Rhodes instead.

Portland Protest Leader Micah Rhodes Is Arrested, Again

By Oregon Live. Portland protest leader Micah Rhodes is back in jail on allegations that he violated terms of his probation by having contact with minors.

Rhodes, 24, was ordered to stay away from anyone under 18 years old after he was convicted this year on three counts of second-degree sexual abuse for having illicit sexual contact with a 17-year-old girl in Washington County and a 17-year-old boy in Multnomah County. The sexual abuse occurred in 2014 and 2015, and Rhodes was 20 and 21 years old at the time.

Washington County Circuit Judge Janelle Wipper and Multnomah County Circuit Judge Jerry Hodson decided in separate hearings not to sentence Rhodes to two to 2 ½ -years in prison, as state sentencing guidelines recommended. Instead, the judges ordered five years of probation for Rhodes with a long list of conditions, including that he was forbidden from being around children without the prior permission of his probation officer. Governor Angers Muslim Group by Accusing Trump of Waging ‘Jihad’ on Illegal Aliens

By Townhall. During a press brief in Puerto Rico Monday, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) compared the current administration’s efforts to curb illegal immigration to Islamic Jihad.

“They are on a Jihad to deport as many people as they can who they believe are not in the United States legally,” Cuomo said.

“This administration is on a crusade against people who they do not consider original Americans, which is specious and hypocritical at best [because] unless you’re a member of a Native American tribe, then you’re really an immigrant to the United States.” . . .

On Tuesday, the Muslim Democratic Club of New York’s board secretary, Sadaf Mehdi issued a statement requesting an apology from Cuomo for his misuse of the word jihad.

“Trump’s anti-immigrant agenda is rooted in white nationalism, racism, and xenophobia. Governor Cuomo’s comparison of it to a ‘jihad’ only perpetuates the Islamophobic trope that acts of violence are somehow a Muslim invention,” the statement said. DOJ Tells Agency to Use ‘Illegal Aliens’

By Numbers USA. The Department of Justice issued guidance this week, instructing U.S. attorneys offices to use the term “illegal alien” instead of “undocumented” when referring to a foreign national illegally residing in the U.S. The guidance states that the DOJ should use the term “illegal alien” because it is used in the U.S. Code to describe foreign nationals who reside in the country unlawfully.

“The word ‘undocumented’ is not based in U.S. code and should not be used to describe someone’s illegal presence in the country,” the email states.

The email goes on to say that when referring to a foreign national who is either residing in the country legally or with an unknown immigration status, offices should describe them by their country of citizenship. It adds that U.S. citizens or green card holders are to be described as a “resident” of the city or state they reside in and that the agency can refer to their citizenship or immigration status if it is pertinent to the factual record of the case. Meltdown: Liberal Media Triggered by Conservative Site Mocking Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in Satire Video

There are some things liberals do that just make you want to smash your face against the desk. That goes doubly for their allies in the media. Allie Beth Stuckey of Conservative Review decided to have a little fun with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the insurgent left-wing Democrat (democratic socialist actually), who delivered the progressive wing their own Eric Cantor moment, clipping top Democrat Rep. Joe Crowley (D-NY) in a primary challenge. Sen. Bernie Sanders has some good company. She too wants free stuff for all the people, and she wants to abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement. She’s been called the future of the Democratic Party, but her July 13 interview with PBS’ Margaret Hoover, who hosts the revamped Firing Line of William F. Buckley lore, provided a lot of fodder, notable because she didn’t know what she was talking about.

On the Israel-Palestinian conflict, she admitted to not being an expert, along with supporting a two-state solution, which she shied away from three days after the PBS interview. Oh, and unemployment is low because everyone is working two jobs. We’ll get to that in a second, but Stuckey decided to do a mock interview to parody the PBS appearance. It’s been done before, but it went viral, breaking over 1 million views. Apparently, not everyone was able to see what was blatantly obvious, providing yet another episode that the liberal media totally embarrassed itself. Also, Washington Post, you should know better, c’mon, guys:

Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez, the congressional candidate from New York whose democratic socialist campaign has stuck a lightning bolt into the world of Democratic politics, appeared to give bizarre answers in a 2½-minute video that was staged as an interview with conservative commentator Allie Stuckey on the site CRTV. Ocasio-Cortez shook her head “no,” when Stuckey asked if she had any knowledge about how the political system worked and seemed to imply that Venezuela was in the Middle East and was a model of socialism.

But the video did not depict a real interview, despite its caption: “Allie *grills* congressional hopeful and progressive it girl ‘Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’ on her socialist agenda and knowledge of government … or lack thereof.” Instead, it used heavily edited footage from an interview Ocasio-Cortez did with PBS earlier this month spliced to appear as answers to questions read by Stuckey.

After an outcry, the Facebook page for Stuckey’s show, which the social media giant has given an informal imprimatur in the form of a blue verification check mark, was updated to note that the video was satire and include a reference to the original PBS show. But the fact that the video traveled so widely — and for some, apparently believably — has served as another example of how misleading information continues to thrive in the fast-paced flow of information online despite Facebook’s promise to better weed it out.

Report: Three Children Euthanized in Country

According to an article in The Brussels Times, a report from the Federal Commission for Euthanasia Control and Evaluation has revealed that euthanasia in Belgium is up 13%.

More striking than the general uptick in numbers, however–most of that increase represents patients between the ages of 60 and 89 years old, the majority having cancer–is the fact that in the years 2016 and 2017, three children also opted in to legally assisted suicide.

While euthanasia in Belgium was legalized for adults in 2003, it wasn’t extended to minors until more recently, in 2014. The law allows children of any age to procure a death via lethal injection, provided they have parental consent and an agreement is reached with a doctor and psychologist.

CNN reported that shortly after the first child was killed under the expanded age laws (in 2016), Belgian senator and supporter of euthanasia Jean-Jacques De Gucht said, “I think it’s very important that we, as a society, have given the opportunity to those people to decide for themselves in what manner they cope with that situation.” . . .

Catholic News Agency reports that, back when assisted suicide was first expanded to minors in Belgium, John Haas (governing member of the Vatican’s Pontifical Academy for Life) declared the new development to be “dreadful.” (Read more from “Report: Three Children Euthanized in Country” HERE)
