Dumpster Fire: NBC Reporter Thinks This Explanation Will Resolve Why They Sat on Account That Gutted Kavanaugh Accuser’s Claim

NBC News is taking some flak after it appears it sat on an account that torpedoes the sexual misconduct allegations lobbed by Julie Swetnick. She alleges that Judge Brett Kavanaugh, President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee who endured a brutal confirmation battle, was involved in a gang rape ring in high school. . .

Well, in September, NBC apparently knew Swetnick’s allegations were straight trash, but decided to sit on them—but went ahead and published the unverified gang rape claim. Now, that Kavanaugh has been confirmed and Swetnick, along with her attorney, Michael Avenatti, have been referred for criminal prosecution for submitting false statements to the Senate Judiciary Committee, NBC News is finally coming clean. It related to the second woman Avenatti claimed corroborated Swetnick’s tale. It turned out that wasn’t the case. . .

Kate Snow and Anna Schecter wrote the NBC News piece. Snow took to Twitter to explain why they decided to publish the article, which seems to be another footnote in the annals of liberal media bias. Our friends at Twitchy caught it. In all, Snow says that they ran out of time—but went ahead with Swetnick’s loony tale anyway, while saying that it was unverifiable. Yeah, maybe that’s where the red flags should have gone up. The New York Times didn’t do an original story on Swetnick precisely because they couldn’t confirm anything. The Times also didn’t run one on Deborah Ramirez, the second Kavanaugh accuser, who says he exposed himself at a college party. All the allegations against Kavanaugh were baseless, unsubstantiated gossip, dropped at the last minute and weaponized by Democrats to try and take down this nomination. They failed.

How Public Schools Indoctrinate Kids Without Almost Anyone Noticing

Many people have long suspected that governments sometimes attempt to indoctrinate their people to increase the government’s own power and influence. Unfortunately, ambitious governments will not stop at merely controlling what their people can do; they must control their minds.

Indoctrination happens through many channels—entertainment, speeches, and censorship––but its main instrument is the school system. Teachers have a captive audience of malleable young minds for several years. They may not have figured out how to make students smart and productive, but they can at least make them submissive and obedient.

Judging by results and from most people’s experience, indoctrination is not only a problem with rogue regimes, but also a distinctly American problem. However, here it is difficult to determine the extent of indoctrination, how it works, or even if it does work.

Most Americans might receive a mediocre education, but this education may be so mediocre that the intended brainwashing might not even be effective. True, some will feel the Bern and join the Socialist Party, and others will become feminists and beat up women who protest abortion. A precious few may even become conservatives. Most, though, seem content to remain disengaged from politics, religion, and most ideas in general, and allow the mainstream media to think for them.

Far from resembling a unified collective, society has become more polarized and tribal. Some might see this as evidence of the failure of indoctrination, and the insuppressible human desire for freedom and justice, but they are mistaken. Indoctrination does work, and it is one the main reasons America is so divided. (Read more from “How Public Schools Indoctrinate Kids Without Almost Anyone Noticing” HERE)

MSNBC Host Goes Nuts When Confronted With Past Examples of Violent Left Wing Rhetoric

MSNBC Host Katy Tur got a little testy with conservative commentator Erick Erickson, who dared to bring up that the Left has become unspooled since Donald Trump’s upset win over Hillary Clinton in 2016. Over the past few days, 13 devices that look like bombs have been mailed to prominent Democrats, including former presidents, and celebrities. We just had an arrest in Florida, but we don’t know what their political leanings are, if any, or a motive. We don’t know. Yet, the liberal news media know exactly who it is: Donald Trump…and his supporters. We’re to blame for the Left becoming so mind-numbingly stupid over the past two years. And that goes double for the media. Erickson merely said that both sides need to calm down, and that Trump didn’t start the insanity that has been brewing for months during his presidency. That’s when Tur lost it (Via The Hill):

“It’s pretty clear when you’re talking about this toxic political environment, that it did start with, mostly with, Donald Trump,” Tur said, noting many of Trump’s statements during his 2016 presidential campaign. Among others, she pointed to the repeated “lock her up” chants that target former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

Erickson attempted to chime in by referencing a past statement from former President Obama. But Tur quickly interrupted, asking Erickson to let her finish.

“Let me finish, this is my show,” she said.

“Have you ever heard a politician other than Donald Trump say I’m so proud, or give a kudos to another politician who body-slammed a reporter? Have you heard that from anybody else other than Donald Trump?” she asked, referring to Trump’s recent rally in Montana.

Trump: If Pittsburgh Synagogue Had Armed Guard, ‘Results Would Have Been Far Better’

President Donald Trump says the outcome at the Pittsburgh synagogue would have been different if there was armed protection.

The President announced that he will be traveling to Pittsburgh, but didn’t announce when he would be making the trip.

Before boarding Air Force One, Trump told reporters, “They had a maniac walk in and they didnt have any protection and that is just so sad to see. The results could have been much better.”

“The world has violence, the world is a violent world and you think when you’re over it it just sort of goes away, but then it comes back in the form of a madman, a whacko. I think one thing we should do is stiffen up our laws in term of the death penalty. When people do this they should get the death penalty, and they shouldn’t have to wait years and years. Now the lawyers will get involved and everybody’s gonna get involved and it will be 10 years down the line,” the President said. . .

The president was asked if gun laws needed to be revisited.

“This has little to do with it. If they had protection inside the results would have been far better. This is a dispute that will always exist I suspect. But if they had some kind of protection inside the temple, maybe it could have been a much different situation. But they didn’t and he was able to do things that unfortunately he shouldn’t have been able to do.”

HORRIBLE: Media, Leftists Blame Jewish Conservatives, Trump Supporters for Pittsburgh Shooting

In the aftermath of a shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue which left 11 dead and at least 6 injured, including four first responders, leftists in the media raced to score political points, blaming Jewish conservatives and Trump supporters for the actions of a virulent anti-Semite.

The shocking statements peppered social media, as leftists scrambled to score political points. The strangest missive came from GQ reporter Julia Ioffe, who wasted no time in suggesting that conservative Jews who cheered President Donald Trump’s decision to move the American embassy in Israel to the capital city of Jerusalem were responsible for a sudden rise in anti-Semitism she clearly believes precipitated Saturday’s attack.

. . .

But she wasn’t alone in blaming American Jews, whose policies she disagrees with, for supporting policies that “led” to Satuday’s shooting. Leftists across social media may not have been as direct as Ioffe, but they were certainly thinking the same thing:

Perhaps the worst, though, was the Atlantic, which published its own piece blaming Jewish conservatives for Saturday’s violence and suggesting Jews who support the president or any pro-Israel policies be “shunned” from their religious communities.

The Good, the Bad and the Weird: Most Memorable Political Ads of the 2018 Campaign

The campaign of 2018 has brought out some odd candidates, and some even odder commercials. There was the guy who pepper sprayed himself in the face, the guy who compared President Trump to Osama bin Laden, and the guy whose ad was literally a dumpster fire. . .

Brian Kemp, Georgia’s Secretary of State who is running for governor, prompted outrage from some folks with an ad in which he holds a shotgun while interviewing a prospective suitor for one of his daughters.

. . .

A Democratic candidate for the House of Representatives in Colorado came up with a novel solution for stopping school shootings — pepper spray. And who better to illustrate the spray’s power than himself.

. . .

[Ron] DeSantis released an ad in which he fully embraces Trump, featuring his wife, Casey. “Everyone knows my husband Ron DeSantis is endorsed by President Trump, but he’s also an amazing dad,” she says. . .

. . .

The ad, titled “A family defends its honor,” shows Gosar’s siblings — Tim, Jennifer, Gaston, Joan, Grace, and David — delivering disparaging remarks about Gosar and his agenda. The ad takes a stark turn when you find out that the pro-Brill folks are actually Gosar’s brothers and sisters.

Caravan Migrants Refuse Mexico’s Offer for Schooling, Jobs and Much More

Caravan migrants heading to the U.S. have refused Mexico’s offer to receive refugee status that would provide schooling, jobs, medical care and shelter. . .

The program gives refugee status to those who apply and provide migrants access to shelter, medical attention, schooling and temporary employment opportunities to Central American migrants in the Chiapas and Oaxaca states, according to The AP. . .

Those of working age would clean, repair and maintain infrastructure in the two southern Mexican states, according to the program. Migrants can also obtain Mexico’s version of a social security number called CURP (Clave Unica de Registro Publico). This will allow the migrants to have legal proof of identity, enter and leave shelters and open bank accounts.

The program came in response to the “unprecedented flow of people from Central American countries who have entered [into Mexico] the last few days,” according to the program’s press statement.

“The government of the Republic reiterates that the unrestricted commitment to the human rights or migrants does not mean an endorsement to irregular, massive and undocumented entry into Mexican territory, on the contrary it makes a new call to those who wish to enter Mexico, to avoid risks unnecessary and subject to the procedures that Mexican law establish,” a Ministry of the Interior press statement said. Mattis Was Asked About the Synagogue Shooting — His Answer Held Nothing Back

By The Daily Caller. Secretary of Defense James Mattis on Sunday condemned the person accused of killing 11 people at a Pittsburgh synagogue, calling him a “coward” and not a real man. . .

“This individual — I won’t even call him a man — he’s the poorest excuse for a man you could ever come up with,” Mattis said, according to the Military Times.

“Who would use a weapon in a house of worship, on unarmed innocent people and even shoot four policemen, then surrender himself? This is a coward,” Mattis added. “He is not a man by any definition that we use in the Department of Defense.”

In Pittsburgh’s ‘Darkest Hour,’ 2,500 Attend Synagogue Massacre Memorial

By CNBC. Some 2,500 people gathered on Sunday at a memorial service for the 11 Jewish worshipers slain in their Pittsburgh synagogue during Sabbath prayers, a mass murder the mayor called the city’s “darkest hour” while exhorting mourners to “defeat hate with love.”

Several speakers addressing an overflow crowd at the University of Pittsburgh’s Soldiers and Sailors Hall sounded themes of inclusion and unity, in counterpoint to the rise of toxic political discourse widely seen as creating an atmosphere conducive to violence.

“What happened yesterday will not break us. It will not ruin us. We will continue to thrive and sing and worship and learn together and continue our historic legacy in the city with the friendliest people that I know,” Rabbi Jonathan Perlman told the interfaith audience.

Three members of his congregation were among those killed when a man armed with an assault rifle and three handguns on Saturday stormed the Tree of Life temple in the city’s heavily Jewish Squirrel Hill neighborhood yelling “All Jews must die” as he opened fire on worshipers.

In addition to the 11 mostly elderly victims who were killed, six people, including four police officers, were wounded before the suspect was arrested. Two of the surviving victims remained hospitalized in critical condition. (Read more from “In Pittsburgh’s ‘Darkest Hour,’ 2,500 Attend Synagogue Massacre Memorial” HERE)

Dem Candidate Won’t Explain Past Assault Arrest

South Carolina’s Democratic nominee for governor, James Smith, was arrested for simple assault and trespassing in 2000 under circumstances he declined to explain.

Records obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation show that on Aug. 31, 2000, Smith was arrested in Columbia, South Carolina, at 1720 Main Street Suite 304, a lawyer’s office. Smith was 32 years old at the time.

“It was dismissed because the accusation was completely, 100 percent false. … It was so obviously false that the judge ordered all records of the case to be expunged,” campaign spokesman Brad Warthen told TheDCNF.

He would not say who the complainant was or why he or she made a false allegation. He also would not say what the basis for the trespassing was. . .

Richard A. Harpootlian, whose law firm was based at the address listed on the warrant, did not return a request for comment seeking details or records about the incident. He is also a former chairman of the state Democratic Party. (Read more from “Dem Candidate Won’t Explain Past Assault Arrest” HERE)

One GOP Mega-Donor Left the Party – and Now He’s Dropping Big Money….For the Dems

L Brands CEO Leslie Wexner was a major Republican Party donor in the swing state of Ohio. In September, Wexner decided to leave the GOP, saying he wouldn’t “support this nonsense in the Republican Party” anymore, The Hill reported. Now, he’s dropping quite a bit of money on Democrats.

The Wexners have given $1.9 million to Ohio and various political parties over the last five years. Leslie was a strong Republican who gave generous donations. His wife, Abigail, typically gave smaller amounts to the Democrats.

Wexner’s recent $10,000 donation to the Ohio House Democratic Caucus and another $10,000 to the state’s House Minority Leader, Fred Strahorn (D), was the first he had given to the Democratic Party, at least in the last five years, the Columbus Dispatch reported. . .

Although Wexner says he’s written off the GOP and now self-identifies as an Independent, he hasn’t written off all of GOP’s members. He gave $10,000 to Ohio House Speaker Ryan Smith (R), $10,000 to the Ohio House Republican Caucus and another $10,000 to the Ohio Senate Republican Caucus.
