Avenatti Slapped With Multi-Million Dollar Judgment, Evicted From Law Offices

He was gunning for the presidency. He made the rounds on television. He scooped up some clients that boosted his profile, both aimed at damaging President Trump. Michael Avenatti, aka creepy porn lawyer, represented adult actress Stormy Daniels in a lawsuit that went to crap. He also represented an unhinged woman named Julie Swetnick, one of the women who lobbed sexual misconduct allegations against Judge Brett Kavanaugh, Trump’s Supreme Court nominee. As with all of the allegations, they lacked evidence or witnesses. The story is just crap, folks. She alleged that Kavanaugh was part of a gang rape ring in high school. Yet, she kept going to these parties where these alleged attacks happened? Yes—and she was also college-aged hanging with high school kids, supposedly saw these events, and then didn’t tell anyone and went back nine more times. It’s straight trash. Period.

Well, he lost that fight too. Kavanaugh is now on the Supreme Court. Oh, and Avenatti has more losses. He has to pay a former colleague millions, and he can no longer use his law offices. They’ve been evicted for not paying rent for four months (via LA Times):

Michael Avenatti, the lawyer for porn actress Stormy Daniels, was hit with a personal judgment of $4.85 million Monday for his failure to pay a debt to a former colleague at his longtime Newport Beach firm.

Less than an hour after his defeat in the Los Angeles lawsuit, Avenatti suffered another setback at a trial in Orange County: The Irvine Co. won a court order evicting him and his staff from their offices because the firm, Eagan Avenatti, skipped the last four months of rent.

PETA: If You Drink Milk, You Support Racism, or Something

At first, I thought this was a parody. It had to be. Everything has become a political battlefield. From television shows, food, clothes, and even hairstyles, the liberal, politically correct are policing things they find problematic. And now we’re dredging this nonsense from the grave: milk is racist. And take a wild guess on who’s pushing this trash. Yeah, it’s People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). They’re unspooled. So, how is milk racist or used as a supposed symbol of white supremacy? White people have an enzyme or something. The New York Times got in on this drivel, and spent way too much time on it:

“Studying human genetic diversity is easier in a society where diversity is clearly valued and celebrated — right now, that is very much on my mind,” said John Novembre, a University of Chicago evolutionary biologist who has taken to concluding his visiting seminars by illustrating how one of the field’s textbook examples of natural selection has been adopted for illiberal ends.

One slide Dr. Novembre has folded into his recent talks depicts a group of white nationalists chugging milk at a 2017 gathering to draw attention to a genetic trait known to be more common in white people than others — the ability to digest lactose as adults. It also shows a social media post from an account called “Enter The Milk Zone” with a map lifted from a scientific journal article on the trait’s evolutionary history.

DHS: We Can Confirm There Are Criminals, Gang Members in the Illegal Caravan

The Department of Homeland Security has confirmed there are in fact criminals and dangerous gang members traveling inside the illegal caravan headed to north to the U.S. southern border. In addition, they are confirming President Trump’s claims “middle easterners” and citizens of countries outside of North and South America, are also in the caravan.

FDA Investigating Mail-Order Abortion Pill Company as Access Grows

This week, news outlets like The Daily Beast and Vox reported that an abortion pill ordering service called Aid Access is being investigated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Aid Access is a six-month-old online company started by a Dutch physician named Rebecca Gomperts. They “support women who are not able to access local services” by allowing them to do an online consultation and, if they qualify, receive abortion pills in the mail, provided their pregnancy is at about 9 weeks or younger.

The startup’s site is full of typical jargon: “For many women, girls and trans men it is very difficult to access abortion care because of the cost of abortion, mandatory 24-72 hour waiting periods, the requirement of parental consent for minors, or the fact that clinics have been forced to close completely…Aid Access supports women who cannot otherwise access an abortion and protects their human rights.” . . .

Pill-induced (also called medical) abortions are increasingly sought after, especially in states where the nearest abortion clinic is difficult to get to. They can be obtained up to about 10 weeks’ gestation using a two-drug combination of mifepristone and misoprostol that’s widely deemed safe if administered correctly to women experiencing normal pregnancies (although the two-drug combo can be quite dangerous, for example, to women with ectopic pregnancies, and online services like Aid Access do not require physician supervision for administering the meds).

Online pill abortion delivery services are legally suspect in the United States, so Aid Access obtains their pills from pharmacies in India. Thus far, the FDA has not found significant issues with adulteration of the pills. Still, the agency is concerned about the group’s sourcing of their drugs, since mifepristone has been linked to 22 deaths to date. It’s unclear how these deaths occurred and why people aren’t more alarmed by them. (Read more from “FDA Investigating Mail-Order Abortion Pill Company as Access Grows” HERE)

I’m an Immigrant, and Trump Represents My Views on Immigration Way Better Than Democrats Do

. . .[T]he Democrats who want to abolish ICE and have open borders aren’t thinking it through: Would having millions of un-vetted people coming across the border really be a good idea? And how will Democrats’ push for “Medicare for all” square with unlimited immigration?

Many liberal Democrats are concerned about and troubled by their party’s affinity for illegal immigration. I read The New York Times regularly, and in the last several years, I’ve been surprised to see that, in the comments section of many articles on immigration, some of the most liberal readers in the country have expressed deep reservations. They just can’t voice their thoughts more openly because they’d be pilloried as racist, nativist and xenophobic.

Finally, there is the issue of how the public policies on illegal immigration have been emotionalized and sensationalized. Here again, it has been done deliberately and often dishonestly to tug at the heartstrings of fair-minded Americans. It’s also important to establish that talking honestly about illegal immigration and about enforcing our immigration laws doesn’t automatically establish personal animus against individual illegal immigrants.

I am an immigrant who finds herself thinking that the Trump administration officials are increasingly the adults in the room on immigration policies. I certainly don’t agree with everything this administration says and does on the issue, but I agree even less—or hardly at all—with the Democratic Party’s current stances. Also, some of Trump’s harsher policies seem to me as deterrent in nature. Democrats need to lose election after election until they see they see the light on immigration. Suspicious Packages Sent To, Obama, Clinton, CNN

The Secret Service said they intercepted a suspicious packages, which were treated as potential explosive devices, sent to former President Obama’s Washington D.C. home, and Bill and Hillary Clinton’s home in New York earlier this week.

. . .

An earlier version of this story included reporting from CNN that a pipe bomb sent to the White House had been intercepted. Secret Service issued a statement late Wednesday morning that CNN’s reports were incorrect.

CNN’s Chris Cuomo Kisses Don Lemon After Attacking Sarah Sanders

CNN’s Chris Cuomo kissed Don Lemon on the cheek after both of them attacked Sarah Sanders during the short period of time where Cuomo’s show ends and Lemon’s begins on Wednesday night.

Sanders had called out CNN’s top brass Jeff Zucker for blaming Wednesday’s suspicious packages on President Donald Trump.

“She’s the press secretary. She says, the president said that no act of violence like this should be tolerated, and then you call him out instead of calling for unity. How dare you do that? You know, look, all of you guys have to make your own lot,” Cuomo said. “I talk to you guys in the White House about this on a regular basis, what you ignore, what you empower and you are part of the same message.” . . .

“I’m glad you’re here. I’m glad Jeff Zucker is here. I’m glad Jeff said what he said. I’m glad Bob the security guy’s here. I’m glad Jackie is here. I’m glad Brenda is here. I’m so happy you guys are here because this is life and death. All the folks who are around here, Kevin, all of you guys, I’m so glad you’re here and alive today because we could have been mourning you guys,” Lemon added. . .

They then held hands and Cuomo leaned in for a kiss on Lemon’s cheek. (Read more from “CNN’s Chris Cuomo Kisses Don Lemon After Attacking Sarah Sanders” HERE)

Trump Is Right, Mainstream Media Is Wrong on Terrorist Threat From Migrant Caravan

What could go wrong with a raucous group of predominantly males from the most violent Latin American countries headed for our southern border? Well, drugs, gangs, crime, and a fiscal drain on our economic resources are a few reasons to fear this invasion. But there is also an extra national security concern that Middle Easterners, who are already traveling independently to our border, are mixed in with this caravan. It’s a general concern that we should take very seriously both with the caravan and the broader waves of illegal immigration.

Yesterday, Trump tweeted that “criminals and unknown Middle Easterners are mixed in” with the caravan. Clearly, Trump has been getting briefings on this issue and is paying attention.

During the waning months of the Obama administration, none other than former Department of Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson sent out a memo to law enforcement agencies with the subject line, “Cross-Border Movement of Special Interest Aliens.” According to DHS’ official definition, Special Interest Aliens (SIAs) are individuals from 35 countries that “have shown a tendency to promote, produce, or protect terrorist organizations,” aka countries from the Middle East or those in Africa and Asia with a presence of terrorist networks. The Johnson memo called for the creation of a “multi-DHS Component SIA Joint Action Group” designed to “counter the threats posed by the smuggling of SIAs” and “the increased global movement of SIAs” in order to eventually “bring down organizations involved in the smuggling of SIAs into and within the United States.” As Todd Bensman of the Center for Immigration Studies observed, the memo was “unusual in the sense that they demanded the ‘immediate attention’ of the nation’s most senior immigration and border security leaders to counter such an obscure terrorism threat.” Bensman is a former intelligence officer for Texas Department of Public Safety.

Of course, this plan never came to fruition, but the fact that someone as liberal as Jeh Johnson found a need to warn about “the increased global involvement of SIAs” should be very concerning to all of us.

Reporters who don’t bother to study issues in the long term and merely react to the mindless soap opera of the day are acting shocked at Trump’s concern about the Middle East migrants coming through the border. CNN’s Jake Tapper wants Trump to provide him with proof of such a phenomenon. To anyone who has studied Latin America, this is a long-standing concern that is always present, irrespective of whether we have a smoking gun in every particular caravan. It certainly ranks among the top reasons to deter these incursions. There is a trail of both governments and Arab diaspora communities in numerous South and Central American countries that are facilitating this smuggling network.

Here’s the current reality:

Guatemalan President Jimmy Morales publicly said last week that he deported 100 Middle Easterners in his country, some with suspected ties to terror. Guatemala has become a hub for international migration of all sorts, including from the Middle East and south Asia, because that is the transit point from all directions into America.

In the Laredo, Texas, border sector, a record 668 Bangladeshi nationals were caught in fiscal year 2018. Over 3,000 SIAs were apprehended in total. One can imagine how many we didn’t apprehend. Also, 9,000 Indian nationals were apprehended this year. While India is not an official SIA country, it has a massive Muslim population of 172 million with a lot of terror groups operating on the ground, particularly in the north. Men make the majority of migrants apprehended in all border sectors, but this percentage has been exceptionally high in Laredo, where 88 percent of those apprehended in FY 2017 were men. That should be a bright red flag.

Venezuela is the single biggest country of concern when it comes to SIAs mixing with Latin American migrants. Remember, not all migrants who gather in the northern triangle of Central America originated there. There are hundreds of thousands of migrants pouring out of Venezuela, as it completely crumbles into a failed state. Not only is Venezuela Hezbollah’s main base of operations in South America, with direct ties to the country’s vice president, who is of Syrian descent, but there are hundreds of thousands of Lebanese and Syrian expatriates living there. Some 37,000 Venezuelans cross into Colombia every day, and there are signs that some of the two million refugees have already headed north. This could become our Syria.

Perhaps reporters like Tapper ought to speak with people who are actually involved in Latin American affairs. Joseph Humire, who served as an expert witness in a first-of-its-kind anti-Hezbollah trial in Peru, told me that he’d be surprised if Middle Easterners aren’t coming in with the caravan simply because they are already traveling these same routes on their own. “The #CaravanHonduras has exposed an important yet underreported issue — the presence and activity of radical Islamist terrorist movements in Central and South America,” said Humire, executive director of the Center for a Secure Free Society. “The movement of irregular migrants cannot be separated from the increase in SIAs in recent years, especially as we correlate the routes and chokepoints used by the Caravan in Guatemala and Mexico. The Aguas Calientes (Guate-Honduras) to Tecun Uman (Guate-Mexico) border crossings are a known SIA route used in the past, as recently as this past April-June when unidentified Palestinians with suspected terror ties took this same route.”

Indeed, these are the routes being taken by the current caravan. Keep in mind that the caravan is working through the Chiapas district of Mexico right near cities like San Cristobal that have populations of recent Muslim converts, a growing phenomenon in the region. None other than open-borders advocate and former Mexican President Vincente Fox accused some of them of having ties to al Qaeda. There are very strong reasons to be concerned with the caravan traveling a known SIA route and passing by such a community.

Humire’s sources in the Morales government also tell him that “at least 44 Syrians have been detained in Guatemala since 2016, all with forged or irregular documents and one with possible ties to ISIS.” Also, many other SIAs “have been moving through Guatemala with fraudulent documents from other countries in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia,” whom “local authorities believe are connected to Hezbollah.”

What about from this caravan? Humire sent me reports he’s received from Guatemalan law enforcement that Guatemala apprehended 100 individuals who were not from Honduras over the past 72 hours. On Friday, Guatemalan police claim to have apprehended seven Bangladeshis, two individuals from Sri Lanka, and one from Nepal. They are being processed for deportation. On Monday, they caught 11 Cubans and three more from Bangladesh. There have also been individuals from Angola, Congo, and Cameroon apprehended by local authorities.

Yesterday, the Daily Caller reported that a Univision reporter on the ground has confirmed the presence of Bangladeshis and that they were apprehended by Guatemalan authorities.

Could the Morales regime and his officials be exaggerating? Perhaps, but I think we ought to take Guatemalans seriously when they are warning of Middle Easterners traveling through the human smuggling routes headed north. Morales has every reason to cooperate with us now that Trump is threatening to suspend foreign aid.

Broadly speaking, it’s shocking how ignorant the elite media is about the growing threat of terrorism in Latin America at both the state level and the grassroots level. Not everything revolves around the Middle East, believe it or not.

Perhaps Tapper and his ilk should heed the words of Michael Braun, former chief of operations with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. Braun sent Conservative Review the following statement regarding the president’s concern over Middle Easterners traveling along the Latin American migrant routes:

The President is justifiably concerned about Middle Eastern terrorist organizations exploiting our borders. Hezbollah and Iran’s IRGC Quds Force, which is responsible for clandestine foreign operations, to include assassinations, have significantly increased their footprint throughout Latin America and Mexico over the past decade … Hezbollah’s growing involvement in the global cocaine trade over the past decade has resulted in the formation of alliances with Colombian and Mexican drug trafficking cartels, the most sophisticated transnational organized crime syndicates law enforcement has ever faced.

Braun was responsible for oversight of all of the DEA’s foreign offices during the Bush years and has testified before Congress many times on the confluence of drug trafficking and terror networks, illicit finance, and other national security topics.

It’s important to remember that although the caravan is a big concern, there are hundreds of thousands of others crossing our border every year, quietly smuggled in by the cartels. This must be stopped as well. Thanks to our judicial amnesty, DHS incompetence, and congressional ineptitude, we have family units coming in record numbers. The Arizona Sherriff’s Association warned in a letter last week that Border Patrol “is currently using up to 40% of their available staff to monitor family units.” Congress and the courts have turned them into babysitters while MS-13, drugs, and yes, Middle Easterners, are crossing the border.

Typically the interdiction rate at the border is about 50 percent, but you have to imagine, given that the SIAs pay up to $30,000 for successful smuggling, that the border cartels, which control the entirety of the flow of movement across the border, are orchestrating the family unit crossings in a way that will ensure more of the high-value targets successfully cross un-interdicted. “The coyote is interested in one thing only — collecting his money and moving his illicit customers across that border as quickly as possible,” warned Braun. “Anyone believing for a moment that foreign terrorist organizations like Hezbollah don’t exploit situations like this simply don’t understand how the real underworld operates.”

As a man who combated human and drug trafficking in South and Central American jungles for decades, Braun would know how this world works. (For more from the author of “Trump Is Right, Mainstream Media Is Wrong on Terrorist Threat From Migrant Caravan” please click HERE)

Former Bush and Reagan Administration Official: Hitler Was Better Person Than Trump

On Tuesday, a former senior policy analyst in the Reagan administration and Deputy Assistant Secretary for Economic Policy at the Treasury Department in the Bush 41 White House essentially stated that Adolf Hitler was a better person than President Trump.

Bartlett has a high opinion of himself; he wrote in The Washington Post in September 2017 that he helped “create the tax myth” that tax cuts stimulate economic growth. He wrote:

Four decades ago, while working for Rep. Jack Kemp (R-N.Y.), I had a hand in creating the Republican tax myth. Of course, it didn’t seem like a myth at that time — taxes were rising rapidly because of inflation and bracket creep, the top tax rate was 70 percent and the economy seemed trapped in stagflation with no way out. Tax cuts, at that time, were an appropriate remedy for the economy’s ills. By the time Ronald Reagan was president, Republican tax gospel went something like this:

The tax system has an enormously powerful effect on economic growth and employment. High taxes and tax rates were largely responsible for stagflation in the 1970s. Reagan’s 1981 tax cut, which was based a bill, co-sponsored by Kemp and Sen. William Roth (R-Del.), that I helped design, unleashed the American economy and led to an abundance of growth.

‘Gosnell’ Movie Turns People Pro-Life

The theaters may be dropping “Gosnell” but that doesn’t mean the movie is not fulfilling its mission of teaching people the horrors of abortion. Now, a college student who once considered herself pro-choice claims to have been changed by the film.

University of Central Florida student Kathy Zhu garnered herself a big social media following in 2016 when she publicly announced herself a Trump supporter after researching his positions on national security. She initially supported Hillary Clinton’s bid for president but switched sides after questioning her liberal leanings.

. . .

One user also announced that they too had been changed by the Gosnell story regarding abortion. “I was pro-choice but when I first heard about the Gosnell trial and grand jury report in 2011-12 I completely became pro-life,” they said.

On its second weekend of theatrical release, “Gosnell: The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer” continued to enjoy solid per-theater performance despite reports of it being suspiciously dropped from high-performing theaters after opening weekend.

According to Box Office Mojo, “Gosnell” took in $841,746 during its second week, capping out at $2,004,734 from just 480 theaters. With a production budget of $2.4 million, thanks to a wildly successful crowdfunding campaign, “Gosnell” has managed to earn back about half of its budget, not factoring in marketing costs.
