Graham’s ‘Solution’ to the Border Wall Funding Is Sure to Find Objections From Conservatives

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) believes he has a solution to the border wall funding fiasco that resulted in a shutdown of the federal government. He proposes giving President Donald Trump the $5 billion he’s asked for to build the wall along the southern border. In exchange, DREAMers would be given legal status, something Democrats have been pushing for. He detailed his solution on CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday.

“The one thing I know for sure is nothing will get out of the Senate without wall/border funding and Democrats are not going to give us money for a wall/border security without getting something themselves,” Graham explained. “So here’s what I think might work: $5 billion for wall/border security – Democrats have voted for more than that in the past – married up with the BRIDGE Act, which Sen. Durbin and I wrote, a three year, one-time renewable work permit for the DACA population, about 700,000.”

Graham also said those living in the U.S. under Temporary Protected Status (TPS), like those fleeing civil war or hurricane wreckage, could also receive temporary, renewable status to stay in the United States. . .

Here’s the thing though: conservatives are tired of continually compromising on illegal immigration, especially when it comes to DREAMers. We continually go through this immigration fight and what always happens? We allow some kind of amnesty to take place, although Republicans are very careful not to use that word. In exchange for receiving border wall funding we have to make exceptions that allow people who are already here to stay. ISIS Video Warns ‘Flames of War Will Burn’ U.S.

By PJ Media. An ISIS-linked group declared that “the flames of war” will “come to America” following U.S. withdrawal from Syria in the same way that ISIS’ power was ignited by President Obama deciding to pull U.S. forces from Iraq.

The eight-minute video, “It’s Still Burning,” was released online by al-Asawirti Media, which has produced films in support of ISIS since the caliphate was declared in 2014. . .

“We tell the Americans, the protectors of the Jews and the Crusader protector, whether you withdrew or not our victory is in our continuation,” a narrator says over footage of ISIS battlefield scenes. “Even if you withdraw, you will return soon. If you cannot turn back, we will invade you from everywhere and you will hear our footsteps on the ground. The fighting has just begun and we are confident of victory from Allah.” ISIS won’t stop, the narrator vows, until jihadists can “pray in Rome.” . . .

The video directly threatens the United States, depicting the country ringed in fire and warning, “Remember: It’s only a matter of time before the flames of war burn you.”

“The Flames of War” were a pair of key propaganda films released by official ISIS media, beginning with the first video in September 2014. Just over a year ago, ISIS released “Flames of War II: Until the Final Hour,” narrated by an American-accented jihadist who has voiced other ISIS productions. Iraqis Fear Defeated Islamic State Could Make a Comeback

By NBC News. A little more than a year after Baghdad declared victory over the Islamic State group, many of its former supporters still walk the streets freely and Iraqis fear the militants might attempt a comeback.

President Donald Trump made a surprise visit to Iraq Wednesday amid criticism of his decision to withdraw American troops from neighboring Syria, a move which prompted the resignations of Defense Secretary Jim Mattis and Brett McGurk, the U.S. special envoy for the coalition to defeat ISIS.

Trump said that he had no plans to remove U.S. troops from Iraq but warned “the United States cannot continue to be the policeman of the world.”

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo previously assured Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi that the U.S. is still committed to supporting the fight against ISIS in the country.

But the White House has also ordered the Pentagon to draw up plans for a troop withdrawal from Afghanistan, officials told NBC News last week. (Read more from “Iraqis Fear Defeated Islamic State Could Make a Comeback” HERE)

Flashback: Stunning Video Proves How Schumer Truly Feels About Illegal Aliens

Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has been at the center of the immigration debate and continually at odds with President Donald Trump’s desire to secure the southern border. What’s interesting is, back in 2009, Schumer admitted that policies like Trump’s are good for the nation.

Schumer addressed the 6th Annual Immigration Law and Policy Conference at Georgetown University in 2009. In his message, he said a number of things that contradict his current outlook on illegal immigration and border security.

“The first of these seven principles is that illegal immigration is wrong, plain and simple. When we use phrases like ‘undocumented workers,’ we convey a message to the American people that their government is not serious about combating illegal immigration, which the American people overwhelmingly oppose,” Schumer explained.

“People who enter the United States without our permission are illegal aliens, and illegal aliens should not be treated the same as people who entered the United States legally,” Schumer said. “Any immigration solution must recognize that we must do as much as we can to gain operational control of our borders as soon as possible.”

Women’s March Rally Canceled for Being ‘Overwhelmingly White’

Organizers of the Women’s March rally for Humboldt County in northern California canceled its January march over concerns that the participants would be “overwhelmingly white.”

The march was originally scheduled to take place on January 19 in Eureka but was canceled after “many conversations between local social-change organizers and supporters of the march,” one of the organizers said in a statement on the group’s Facebook page.

“The local organizers are continuing to meet and discuss how to broaden representation in the organizing committee to create an event that represents and supports peoples who live here in Humboldt,” the statement said. “Up to this point, the participants have been overwhelmingly white, lacking representation from several perspectives in our community.” . . .

“Instead of pushing forward with crucial voices absent, the organizing team will take time for more outreach,” the statement added. “ Our goal is that planning will continue and we will be successful in creating an event that will build power and community engagement through connection between women that seek to improve the lives of all in our community.” . . .

Chicago Women’s March organizers also canceled their planned January 19 march, citing high costs and limited volunteers. The Chicago Tribune also reported that the cancellation also involved “splintering within the national Women’s March leadership following accusations of anti-Semitism and scrutiny of its ties to Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan.” (Read more from “Women’s March Rally Canceled for Being ‘Overwhelmingly White'” HERE)

Trump Points to ‘Wall’ Built Around Obama’s Home During Fight for Border Wall Funding

President Trump pointed to the wall former President Obama built around his Washington D.C., home as a reason Congress should fund his barrier on the southern border.

The former president and his wife, Michelle, bought the 8,200-square-foot mansion for $8.1 million in 2017, according to reports.

The house is in the Kalorama section of Washington, an exclusive enclave for diplomats, lobbyists and politicians, including Trump’s daughter Ivanka and her husband Jared, as well as Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos.

The Obamas bought the house after leasing it when Obama left office in 2016. . .

The president wants $5 billion for the barrier, but Democrats are offering only $1.6 billion for border security — and nothing for a wall. (Read more from “Trump Points to ‘Wall’ Built Around Obama’s Home During Fight for Border Wall Funding” HERE)

Former Governor Seriously Considering 2020 Run

Former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe previewed a possible 2020 Democratic presidential primary stump speech Sunday in which he voiced support for a practical form of “Medicare for all.”

McAuliffe, who also served as Democratic National Committee chair in the early 2000s, said Sunday he was “obviously looking” at contesting the party’s nomination to challenge President Trump, whom he described as being “too emotional” and “unstable” for the White House.

“I’ve 40 years of working for this party. I’ve plenty of friends in many states. So I don’t have to rush into this,” McAuliffe said during an interview on CNN’s “State of the Union.” “Here’s the message for Democrats. They don’t want an angry liar in the White House. They want someone who is compulsively optimistic and realistic. And the Democrats have to lay out an agenda of success of what we plan to do.” (Read more from “Former Governor Seriously Considering 2020 Run” HERE)

Alleged Election Fraud May Leave One Congressional Seat Empty When the New Congress Is Sworn In

As the new Congress gets ready to take descend upon Washington, D.C. later this week, it is appearing likely that North Carolina’s 9th Congressional District will not have a representative. Incoming House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer said Democrats refuse to seat Republican Mark Harris come Jan. 3. . .

From Fox News:

The state elections board has refused to certify the race between Harris and Democrat Dan McCready while it investigates absentee ballot irregularities in the congressional district stretching from the Charlotte area through several counties to the east.

Harris holds a slim lead in unofficial results, but officials are looking into criminal voter fraud allegations against an operative hired by the Harris campaign.

The accusations highlight the wildly varying state laws governing ballot harvesting, which refers to the practice of someone other than a voter dropping off that voter’s ballot at a polling station. In North Carolina, state law still prohibits anyone other than a voter or a close family member from mailing in or dropping off that voter’s ballot.

Apple Removes Christian Ministry App Following Complaints by LGBT Group

Apple removed a Christian ministry’s app from its store after an LGBT group claimed it implied being gay was a sickness, according to published reports.

A gay rights group, Truth Wins Out, got the so-called ex-gay app removed after it convinced the tech giant that the app was “dangerous,” “bigoted” and “hateful.” . . .

Living Hope Ministries of Arlington, Texas, told The Christian Post in an email that it was disappointed, but will continue its work.

“We are saddened by Apple’s and Microsoft’s removal of our app because of a single person’s false accusations. Regardless of their decision we will continue to make the app and our services available to those who seek them,” said Ricky Chalette, executive director of the ministry.

“We are a ministry that for nearly thirty years has helped individuals resolve their feelings they deem incongruent with their faith,” he continued. “We help people deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ through Bible study and accountability. We walk with them to align their lives with the teachings of Jesus Christ. Through support groups they realize they are not alone and are able to share honestly and openly in a non-condemning atmosphere about their struggles, passions, and victories. From chaos and confusion they often find peace, hope, and a deeper sense of personal wholeness. Our ministry is free and strictly voluntary.”

VIDEO: Did the Saudi Consulate Help Suspect in Fatal Hit-And-Run Escape the U.S.?

Abdulrahman Sameer Noorah, a Saudi national who was in the U.S. on a student visa attending Portland Community College, was under house arrest in June 2017 after being charged in the hit-and-run death of 15-year-old high school sophomore Fallon Smart. But just nine days prior to his trial and despite wearing a U.S. Marshals Service GPS ankle monitor, Noorah vanished. . .

Local news outlets are reporting that the Saudi consulate may have aided in his escape by providing transportation and a false passport.

Fallon was killed in August 2016 while crossing the street at a crosswalk when Noorah drove around cars ahead of him that were stopped to let the girl cross. He was driving 55 to 60 mph in a 25 mph zone when he struck her with his gold Lexus and then drove off. Her head hit and cracked the windshield. . .

Instead, Noorah was picked up by a black GMC Yukon XL. The vehicle then traveled to a local sand and gravel business, where his GPS ankle bracelet was cut off and later found by authorities. . .

Shawn Overstreet, the Portland prosecutor trying the case, told the Washington Post that the Saudi consulate may have provided a fake passport under a different name to allow Noorah to leave the country. He may have left on a private flight, where tracking of passengers is less regulated. (Read more from “Did the Saudi Consulate Help Suspect in Fatal Hit-And-Run Escape the U.S.?” HERE)
