Waitress Posts a Photo of Customers Acting Weird — and It Ends up Saving Children From Abuse

By The Blaze. A waitress is being hailed as a hero for her actions documenting the suspicious behavior she saw from a family that was visiting an Olive Garden in Kentucky. . .

She says that the man was acting very aggressively and force feeding one of the children.

Cooper was able to stage a photo with customers at a nearby table in order to capture the family in the background. She says they got suspicious and left soon afterward. . .

When she got home, she posted a description of what she saw and added the photos to her Facebook account. . .

After seeing the conditions at the home of Jessica Woodworth and Mark Lee Pierce, police removed the children and charged the parents with aggravated child abuse and neglect. (Read more from “Waitress Posts a Photo of Customers Acting Weird — and It Ends up Saving Children From Abuse” HERE)

Police Charge Parents With Child Abuse After Waitress’ Facebook Post

By WPSD Local 6. During Cooper’s shift, she and her coworkers noticed something unusual about a family they just seated. “I first walked around to the baby. She looked at me with a face that said help,” Cooper said. . .

“I can’t even describe to you how bad she looked,” Cooper said pointing to her face, “and how and why nobody noticed it.” . . .

She shared the photo of the little girl and the partial plate number, and she asked people on Facebook to help track the parents down. “My phone would not just stop going off,” Cooper said. Her post was shared more than 14,000 times. A childhood classmate saw that post and started digging.

“I got everything so I could run him and find who he was. “said Aaron Caldwell, a Metropolis 911 dispatcher. “I found that and ended up contacting Paris Police Department, Tennessee.” . . .

He called both agencies, and 20 minutes later he got a call back from the Paris Police Department. They removed two children from the home and arrested Jessica Woodworth and Mark Lee Pierce on charges of aggravated child abuse and neglect. New, Awful Data Shows The Terrifying Truth Behind The Border Invasion

If Trump had not signed the disastrous budget bill several weeks ago and we were still operating on a short-term CR with immigration remaining the top issue, today’s news could have strengthened Trump’s leverage. According to CBP’s preliminary figures obtained by the Washington Post, 76,325 illegal aliens were apprehended at the border in February, more than any other month in over a decade since the decline of migration from Mexico. A record 40,325 family units arrived, blowing out the previous records by almost 10,000. Sadly, Trump already signed away his leverage to force a national dialogue over this issue.

As a nation, we are left debating presidential power from an obscure statute that enables the president to obtain a mere $2.5 billion for partial fencing to deal with a policy-driven invasion. The joke is that even if Trump had full unity behind this approach, it would do little to stop this invasion, which is strategically directed toward soft parts of our border. Unless we force a national discussion over the courts and the illegal immigration magnets that are bringing immigrants in, this entire debate is a non-sequitur. Unfortunately, without a budget deadline for another seven months, no matter how bad things get at our border, there is no mechanism through which to pressure Democrats into submission.

A record 76,325 apprehensions for one month is truly staggering, not only because it’s the single worst month at the border since fiscal year 2008, but because almost all of these people get to stay on our dime. Projected for the whole year, this pace would result in 916,000 apprehensions. But the pace is growing every month, because the catch-and-release expands. As the Washington Post observes, “The number of migrants taken into custody last year jumped 39 percent from February to March, and a similar increase this month would push levels to 100,000 detentions or more.” That would be an annual pace of 1.2 million.

While we had years with over one million apprehensions in past decades, most of the illegal immigrants were repatriated under expedited deportation within hours. This means that a lot of them were repeat crossers and they were deported in short order. These people coming now are first-timers and are successfully embedding themselves into our country within a few days, saddling us with the permanent cost of their care.

In an interview with CR, Mark Morgan, former Border Patrol chief under Obama, explained why today’s migration is really worse than ever before:

When anyone opines that the apprehension numbers are at a historic low to support the claim that there is no crisis along our southwest border, they are leaving out a critical factor — the demographics of those illegally entering our country. In the early 2000s when apprehensions were around one million, the overwhelming majority were Mexican adults. They were processed and returned to Mexico within days through an expedited removal process. Since 2014, we have seen a significant shift in who is illegally entering through the southwest border. Today, family units and unaccompanied minors seeking asylum account for more than 60 percent of those being apprehended. The essential difference is they are not removed! Through our country’s broken asylum laws and bad judicial precedent, this new demographic of illegal aliens are caught and released into cities throughout the country. So, even though last year the apprehensions dropped to 400,000 … the number of illegal aliens allowed into the United States has actually increased from a decade ago.

Plus, this is a worse migration because it’s dominated by kids and sick individuals who tie down our resources more than in the past. Morgan explained that even at the worst times under his tenure, roughly 10-12 percent of Border Patrol resources were diverted to humanitarian care. Now, “approximately 25 percent of agents are pulled off the line on a daily basis to address the humanitarian crisis, acting as child care providers.” Morgan also said that nobody is discussing the fact that Border Patrol engaged in 4,300 rescues last year and over 1,000 thus far this year, “another example of the risk and resources being used for the humanitarian crisis rather than the security crisis.”

In recent months, even the overall numbers are climbing back to dangerously high levels. Almost none of those coming here are being deported. Back during the years with over one million apprehensions, all but 100,000 were returned expeditiously. Now, over a half a million will get to stay, but the trajectory is exploding every few weeks.

Here is a quick report from Todd Bensman of the Center for Immigration Studies on what he’s hearing about the state of play at our border. This is an anonymous USCIS source, but Bensman, with his background in border intelligence for the Texas Department of Public Safety, seems very concerned:

Nobody in the political class wants to ask who is paying for this. It’s the forgotten American taxpayers.

It’s gotten so bad that illegal aliens have successfully taken us past our breaking point, creating a self-fulfilling cycle of catch-and-release. We are so overrun with migrants and detention facilities are so full that now, even those not eligible for catch-and-release are being released. We will never hear from them again, but will have to pay for their public charge and crimes committed.

Thus, we see that when the president gives speeches and says he didn’t let in the caravan and that catch-and-release is over, it’s plainly wrong. Under Trump, we are witnessing a more severe invasion than any time under Obama. It’s not his fault that the courts decided to engage in civil disobedience against our laws under his watch, but it is his fault that he refuses to push back. He is using the one bullet in his “executive action gun” on $2.5 billion in border funding rather than shutting off all immigration and refusing to allow in anyone, a power he has under inherent executive authority to stop an invasion, halt foreign commerce, and two delegated powers from the INA. Frankly, he would be on even more solid constitutional grounds by halting all immigration at the border than by reprogramming appropriations, and it would actually address the source of the problem more directly.

Sadly, now that Trump agreed to sign away his leverage, the immigration issue is no longer even at the top of the news cycle and has been replaced by Michael Cohen and all the Mueller-related probes from House Democrats. As such, Trump is left focusing on pennies for the border rather than changing policies. So long as the focus is on pennies and not policies, this invasion will continue with no safety net to protect the American people.

Every few months, the equivalent of a major city of the most impoverished people are coming in and being released into our communities with no regard to our ability to assimilate them, pay for them, or deal with the social concerns and the criminal elements. Not to mention the fact that they are coming from countries dealing with major outbreaks of diseases we eradicated long ago.

Mr. President, either we have border or we don’t, and as such, either we are a country or we are not. (For more from the author of “New, Awful Data Shows That the Border Invasion Is Worse Than Ever” please click HERE)

Contract Extended for Humanized Mice, Made With Aborted Babies

The Department of Health and Human Services says it has granted a second 90-day extension to a contract it has with the University of California at San Francisco that requires UCSF to make “humanized mice.”

These creatures are made by implanting mice with human tissues taken from late-term aborted babies.

The HHS’s multi-million-dollar contract with UCSF that requires the construction of these “humanized mice” creates a demand–driven by federal tax dollars–for tissue taken from late-term aborted babies. According to an estimate it has published on its website, the National Institutes of Health (which is a division of HHS) will spend $95 million this fiscal year alone on research that–like UCSF’s “humanized mouse” contract–uses human fetal tissue. . .

HHS also is still in the process of conducting the “comprehensive review” it announced last September “of all research involving fetal tissue.”

That review was initiated to ensure that all federally funded research using human fetal tissue is consistent “with statutes and regulations governing such research, and to ensure the adequacy of procedures and oversight of this research in light of the serious regulatory, moral, and ethical considerations involved.” (Read more from “Contract Extended for Humanized Mice, Made With Aborted Babies” HERE)

College Students Reveal If They Still Trust the Media

The mainstream media has been dropping the ball recently in a slew of fake news coverage, including the Jussie Smollett hate crime hoax and the coverage of the kids from Covington Catholic High School. We asked college students at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., if they still trust the news media after the recent bad track record.

“No, but honestly I never have,… they only put out what they want you to know. For all of the fake that they’re putting out, its ridiculous, you can’t trust the media,” responded one student. . .

One student said that we should always trust alleged victims that the media reports because it could be “triggering” if we don’t. “I think that we should always trust victims, and questioning victims is very problematic and dangerous. This case with Jussie was literally insane, but usually victims aren’t someone that I would go out to question, that’s very triggering.”

One student refuted Trump’s comments about the media by saying calling them “fake” is disrespectful, “I disagree when he calls them “fake news” because I feel like that is just disrespectful to people who work so hard. But also, I think being skeptical and also like criticizing them and calling them “fake” are completely different.” (Read more from “College Students Reveal If They Still Trust the Media” HERE)

Sisters Arrested After Admitting They ‘Euthanized’ Father

Two sisters were arrested in Florida on Tuesday for allegedly admitting to law enforcement that they killed their father as part of a “premeditated” act four years ago because he refused to enter an assisted living facility.

Mary-Beth Tomaselli, 63, and Linda Roberts, 62, were taken into custody after they detailed to a male confidant whom they befriended in recent months what they had seemingly done, Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri told reporters on Tuesday.

Roberts told the man — who recorded his conversations with her — that she and Tomaselli “euthanized” their father, Anthony Tomaselli, in March 2015, when he was 85 years old. The sheriff said that “Linda gave very specific details about how she and Mary-Beth killed their father.”

The women said “they had killed their father, and had, quote, ‘euthanized’ him because he had been ill” and refused to go to an assisted living facility, according to the sheriff. He added, “They knew he would die sometime in the next couple of months, so they decided to euthanize him.”

The sisters allegedly gave their father a concoction of alcohol and an “excessive” amount of sleeping pills “with the hope that it would kill him.” However, the sheriff said Tomaselli put too much alcohol in the drink, which diluted it. Trump Fulfills Terminally Ill Man’s Dying Wish

President Trump and Eric Trump fulfilled a terminally ill Connecticut man’s dying wish with a phone call on Tuesday evening — and all it took was a little help from the man’s sister, an elected Democrat.

44-year-old Jay Barrett, of West Haven, who has cystic fibrosis, left a hospital to begin palliative care at his sister’s home last weekend and asked for some sort of contact with the president before he dies.

His sister, West Haven City Councilwoman Bridgette Hoskie, who describes herself as “100 percent Democrat,” went on social media to help make it happen. Friends and other supporters sent emails to the White House and its online petition system.

The efforts paid off Tuesday night when Barrett received a call from Trump late Tuesday. According to Barrett, Hoskie handed him a phone and he heard an understated greeting: “I’m the secretary for the president of the United States. Do you have time to talk to him?” . . .

“Alright Jay, You look handsome to me. I just saw a picture of you.” Trump began, in a video of the call posted to YouTube. (Read more from “Trump Fulfills Terminally Ill Man’s Dying Wish” HERE)

Melania Rips Into the Media, and Then Issues This Challenge to Them

First lady Melania Trump criticized the mainstream media and issued a challenge to them about their cheap and shallow coverage.

“I challenge the press to devote as much time to the lives lost and the potential lives that could be saved by dedicating the same amount of coverage that you do to idle gossip or trivial stories,” the first lady said. . .

“When we see breaking news on TV or the front pages of newspapers,” she added, “it is my hope that it can be about how many lives we were able to save through education and honest dialogue.” . . .

“I wish the media would talk about more and educate more children, also adults, parents, about the opioid crisis that we have in the United States,” she said. “They do it already, but I think not enough.”

This is just the latest in a series of critiques from the first lady against the media. In November she was speaking about her anti-cyberbullying campaign at a conference in Washington D.C. when the issue arose.

Win: Lawsuit Dropped Against Christian Baker Her Refused Transgender Cake

Colorado has announced they are dropping their litigation against Christian baker Jack Phillips for his refusing on religious grounds to make a transgender cake.

Soon after receiving a favorable ruling from the U.S. Supreme Court last year on whether he could refuse to make a same-sex wedding cake, Phillips again found himself in legal trouble for refusing to make a cake celebrating a gender transition.

In an announcement released Tuesday, the state office explained that the Colorado Civil Rights Commission will voluntarily drop its case against Phillips; in return, Phillips will end his federal lawsuit against the state. . .

Kristen Waggoner, the Alliance Defending Freedom attorney who argued on behalf of Phillips before the Supreme Court, said in a statement that she considered the mutual dropping of cases to be “great news for everyone.” . . .

Last June, the Supreme Court ruled 7-2 in Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission that Colorado violated Phillips’ First Amendment rights when the state punished him for refusing to bake a custom cake for the wedding of Dave Mullins and Charlie Craig in 2012. Trump and Hillary Feud on Twitter After 2020 Announcement

After former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton announced that she would not seek the Democratic nomination in 2020, she and her 2016 rival President Donald Trump exchanged some parting shots on Twitter.

Clinton announced that she would not be running during a local news interview in New York on Monday. Trump responded Tuesday afternoon. . .

Clinton issued a wordless response to Trump’s mocking tweet, implying that Trump was obsessed with her.

Clinton dedicated an entire book to trying to reconcile her election loss, blaming everything and everyone ranging from former FBI director James Comey to Russian President Vladimir Putin to Sen. Bernie Sanders to the media.

Most recently, Clinton made some comments which seemed to imply that a Supreme Court decision she says “gutted the Voting Rights Act” hindered her from winning in Wisconsin, a state her campaign notably ignored in 2016. LANDMARK DECISION: Court Rules Aborted Baby Is a Person With Rights

In a landmark case, an Alabama court became the first court in the nation to recognize an aborted baby as a person with rights.

The Madison County probate court ruled that a father of a baby that was aborted by the father’s girlfriend has the right to sue the woman’s center that performed the procedure as well the employees of the center and the pharmaceutical company that made the medication used in the abortion.

On February 10, 2017, against his wishes, the girlfriend of Ryan Magers aborted the baby they had conceived. In early February 2019, Magers filed suit; the suit states that the baby (Baby Roe) was aborted at six weeks in 2017, despite the fact that Magers repeatedly begged his girlfriend to let the baby live. The girlfriend went to the Alabama Women’s Center, where she was given a pill that would abort the baby. . .

Magers recalled in February 2019, “It was just like my whole world fell apart,” saying he filed the suit because “I’m here for the men who actually want to have their baby. Even though there’s nothing I can do for the situation I was in, there is something I can do for the future situations for other people. … I believe every child from conception is a baby and deserves to live.” . . .

This week, the probate court ruled that the aborted baby was a person, and thus Magers could legally represent the baby’s estate. Helms stated, “We have already had a victory, and it was the first one of its kind, ever.” He added, “This is the first estate that I’m aware of that has ever been opened for an aborted baby.” (Read more from “LANDMARK DECISION: Court Rules Aborted Baby Is a Person With Rights” HERE)
