Smollett Vacations After Charges Are Dropped

By The Daily Caller. Smollett’s lawyer Mark Geragos claims that the city of Chicago is working to defame Smollett and that if the city sues, they will countersue.

Geragos wrote in a letter to the city that Smollett “vehemently denies making any false statements,” echoing what the actor said during a press conference following his charges being dropped. . .

Despite the drama surrounding the embattled actor, “Empire” co-star Taraji P. Henson claims that Smollett will be back for the sixth season. Medical Students in Africa Outraged Over U.S. Based Org Enticing Them to Become Abortionists

A U.S. based pro-abortion group that misleadingly calls itself “Catholics for Choice” is enticing unsuspecting medical students in Africa’s most vibrant Catholic countries to become not only abortion promoters but even abortionists, according to medical students who attended a workshop hosted by the organization.

Ugandan medical students recently became troubled when they realized too late that a seminar about “reproductive health” offered by Catholics for Choice (CFC) was really about ending the lives of children in their mothers’ wombs.

They felt they were deceived by the euphemistic terminology employed by the CFC. The seminar, titled “Values Clarification Workshop,” turned out to be what they said was abortion “indoctrination” that perverted Catholic teaching on the sanctity of life.

CFC wooed students to the abortion propaganda event by bringing them free of charge to Kampala’s most lavish resort, The Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort & Spa—the country’s only five-star hotel—for a luxury weekend.

Catholics for Choice, an advocacy group based in Washington, D.C. with an annual budget of $3,000,000, states on its website that it “helps people and organizations confidently challenge the power of the Catholic hierarchy.” The group promotes contraception, abortion, and sex education. LifeSiteNews reached out to Catholics for Choice several times for comment during the writing of this report but received no response. Hospital Pressured Mom to Abort Her Baby to Cover up Drug Mistake, Lawsuit Claims

An Illinois woman has filed a lawsuit against a Peoria hospital for allegedly pressuring her to abort her wanted baby to avoid liability for having accidentally administered a drug that could have caused severe birth defects.

Reneizha Morris says that in November 2017, during a routine appointment at UnityPoint Health-Methodist’s area hospital, she learned she was pregnant with a healthy 7-week-old baby, ABC reports. But due to a “miscommunication,” she was allegedly injected with Methotrexate, which can cause severe birth defects.

Morris says the doctors held two meetings with her to inform her about the risks. She still wanted to give birth, but the hospital’s risk manager led her to schedule an abortion on November 29, which she refused after seeing an ultrasound of her child. Yet the risk manager allegedly called her family multiple times to keep pressuring her to abort, going so far as to offer her $2,000 for a consultation at a Planned Parenthood location in Chicago.

“Morris’s attorneys have found the hospital’s records suddenly trail off at this point on how and when she supposedly decided to terminate the pregnancy,” her attorneys explain, according to the Peoria Journal Star. “Following the canceled procedure, the hospital’s risk manager had two phone calls with her family, which have been omitted from the medical record. On December 5, the hospital’s risk manager asked Morris to come to the hospital to pick up $2,000 in cash and a letter stating the money was to be used for ‘a consultation’ at a Chicago-area Planned Parenthood clinic.”

Morris ultimately gave in and had her baby aborted on December 17, which her attorneys suggest she wouldn’t have done without the hospital’s repeated pressuring to do so — or if the hospital had informed her that because it had given her the wrong drug without warning her of the risks, it would be the one covering her child’s medical expenses. Sanctuary Cities Welcome Illegal Aliens With ‘Open Arms’ While 38K American Veterans Remain Homeless

Sanctuary cities across the United States are responding to President Donald Trump’s threat to bus border crossers and illegal aliens to their jurisdictions, saying they plan to welcome all illegal immigration with “open arms” despite soaring homelessness problems.

Last week, Trump threatened to bus border crossers and illegal aliens into sanctuary cities and states, like California and New York City, if the country’s asylum laws were not changed. White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Sunday confirmed that the White House is considering the plan. . .

Sanctuary city mayors like Oakland, California, Mayor Libby Schaaf have responded to Trump’s threat by saying they plan to welcome any and all illegal aliens to their cities — even those cities that are struggling with rising homelessness. Currently, there are nearly 38,000 homeless American veterans across the country. . .

As of 2017, there were more than 2,700 Oakland residents who were homeless — an increase of 25 percent when compared to two years before. In all of Alameda County, there are about 5,630 homeless residents. In all of California, there are nearly 130,000 homeless residents, including nearly 11,000 homeless American Veterans. . .

In total, there are more than 550,000 American residents who are homeless nationwide. Meanwhile, the U.S. admits more than 1.5 million illegal and legal immigrants every year — the overwhelming majority of which are low skilled workers who compete for jobs against America’s poor, working, and middle class. The Washington, DC-imposed mass immigration policy drives housing costs up for Americans, economists have found. Trump Campaign Rakes in MAJOR Money During First Quarter

President Trump’s re-election campaign raised $30.3 million in the first quarter of this year, far pacing the leading fundraisers among the Democrats, Fox News confirmed Sunday.

The Trump campaign said nearly 99 percent of its donations were of $200 or less, with an average donation of $34.26. In all, the campaign had $40.8 million cash on hand, an unprecedented war chest for an incumbent president this early in the campaign.

Trump’s fundraising ability was matched by the Republican National Committee, which brought in $45.8 million in the first quarter — its highest non-election year total. Combined, the pro-Trump effort reported $82 million in the bank. The numbers were reported first by The Associated Press.

Trump formally launched his reelection effort just hours after taking office in 2017, earlier than any incumbent had in prior years. By contrast, former President Barack Obama launched his 2012 effort in April 2011 and had under $2 million on hand at this point in the campaign. Obama went on to raise more than $720 million for his reelection. Trump’s reelection effort has set a $1 billion target for 2020.

Among Trump’s would-be Democratic challengers, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders was leading the money race after taking in $18.2 million in the first quarter of this year. He was followed by California Sen. Kamala Harris, with $12 million. Former Rep. Beto O’Rourke ($9.4 million), South Bend, Ind. Mayor Pete Buttigieg ($7 million) and Massachusetts Sen. Creepy: Netflix Employs Practicing Wiccans to Fact-Check Show

In case you ever wondered why the Netflix reboot of “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” seemed so eerily satanic, maybe it has something to do with the fact that the streaming service employs actual Wiccans to ensure maximum accuracy.

According to LifeSiteNews, actress Kiernan Shipka (who plays the iconic teenage witch in the reboot) told Jimmy Kimmel this week that both she and the show’s writers consult real Wiccans for better authenticity. . .

Shipka first jokingly quipped she goes on “a few ride-alongs, a few seances” before admitting the truth: “We have a few people who are practicing Wiccans … it’s nice. You feel like you’re making the right moves and doing the right things. You feel like you have some advisory, which is really nice. We’re not all just doing this.”

“Sabrina, the Teenage Witch” returned to the small screen once again in October 2018 as the “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.” This time, however, the light-hearted innocence of the original Melissa Joan Hart sitcom was jettisoned in favor of an unapologetically dark, satanic tone, shot-through by occasional bouts of meta-humor.

In this darkly twisted version, gone are the laugh tracks and cheerful one-liners of the original, where witchcraft and magic were more of a punchline to a joke rather than an actual force for Sabrina to reckon with. Here, the “teenage witch” is a newly-minted 16-year-old on the cusp of signing her soul over to a coven of Satan-worshippers, which her two aunts – Zelda and Hilda – are all too eager to facilitate. Man Throws Child Over Balcony at Mall of America

A 5-year-old boy who was seriously injured when he was thrown from a third-floor balcony at the Mall of America near Minneapolis remains hospitalized. . .

Bloomington Police Chief Jeffrey Potts said Sunday that the boy is “still alive and receiving care,” and that the family wants privacy. Children’s Hospital Minneapolis had no information to release.

Potts said during a news conference that the boy fell nearly 40 feet after a man who apparently didn’t know the boy or his family threw him off the balcony Friday. Authorities haven’t released the boy’s name.

Twenty-four-year-old Emmanuel Deshawn Aranda, of Minneapolis, is jailed on a suspicion of attempted homicide charge. Jail records don’t list an attorney for him. He could be formally charged as early as Monday. Potts credited bystanders and mall security for his quick capture. . .

Court records show that Aranda has a history of convictions for misdemeanor offense. He was charged in two previous incidents at the mall in 2015. Potts said some of those cases were handled through mental health court, but he didn’t elaborate. The student made the claim during an exchange with Kristan Hawkins, a pro-life advocate and president of Students for Life of America, during a sold-out stop on Hawkins’ “Lies Feminists Tell” university tour. Hawkins later wrote about the uncomfortable exchange on Twitter. . .

“Okay. Do you believe that a baby who is born alive during an abortion at Planned Parenthood should get care?” Hawkins followed up. . .

The video begins with a clip of Rep. Omar referring to the 9/11 atrocity as being an instance where “some people did something” during a speech she gave in March for the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).

The video then cuts to news footage of the second plane crashing into the Twin Towers, before cutting back to Omar’s “some people did something” remark. This sequence is repeated two more times, as the horrifying realities of that fateful day are showcased.

AOC defends Omar after Trump 9/11 video, calls on more Dems to speak out

By NBC News. President Donald Trump tweeted a video featuring images of 9/11 to attack Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn. — which drew sharp rebukes from two other freshmen representatives — Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y. and Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich.

The video that Trump posted on Friday splices a reference Omar made about the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks with footage of the Twin Towers in New York collapsing. It is captioned “WE WILL NEVER FORGET.”
