Dem Staffer Who Doxxed GOP Senators During Kavanaugh Fight Is Going to Prison

The Supreme Court fight over the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh was brutal. It was vicious. It was everything that politics is at heart: warfare. We are a nation of blue states and red states. There are Democrats and Republicans. There are liberals and conservatives. We don’t get along. We don’t like each other. And we share absolutely nothing in common. Our differences cannot be bridged. Our views of government cannot be reconciled. That was explicitly displayed as the Democrats tried to execute one of the most destructive character assassination attempts since Clarence Thomas. And the ammunition they used for this political assassination attempt was the equivalent of a .308 Winchester round: sexual assault. Most of the allegations couldn’t be corroborated. Most of them were trash. In reality, you need solid evidence, witnesses, etc., but Democrats decided to take the ‘belief is evidence’ route. That’s precisely wrong.

Throughout the battle, Republican senators were doxxed by a former aide to Sen. Maggie Hassan (D-NH) who was sentenced to four years in jail for releasing their personal information. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT), and Mike Lee (R-UT) were targeted in the doxxing scheme. It was the largest data breach in the Senate’s history (via Politico):

A former aide to Sen. Maggie Hassan (D-N.H.) was sentenced to four years in prison Wednesday for hacking Senate computers and releasing personal information online about five Republican senators out of anger spurred by their roles in the confirmation hearings for Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

U.S. District Court Judge Thomas Hogan said the sentence for Jackson Cosko, 27, was needed to send a signal that criminal harassment driven by political motives would be punished severely in an era marked by extreme political polarization.

Expert: U.S. Invests More in Africa Under Trump Than Any Other President

The United States has poured more investment into Africa under President Donald Trump than under any previous administration. . .

The Daily Maverick reported on Thursday:

Aubrey Hruby, a senior fellow with the Atlantic Council’s Africa Center and co-author of the book The Next Africa, has told Al Jazeera that the US DFC [Development Finance Corporation] with its larger investment cap, provides an opportunity for the US to reframe the way it does development in Africa.

She said it was “utterly surprising” that this was happening under President Donald Trump, who has been criticised for derogatory comments about Africa and who previously proposed scrapping funding for Opic, which provided US companies with investment guarantees. She said in many ways, more resources had been put into Africa and US companies in Africa under the Trump administration than any other.

Critics once complained that President Trump lacked interest in Africa (at least outside of South Africa, where he has drawn attention to the plight of white farmers, who are often the targets of brutal crime). They also accused him of referring to some African nations as “sh*thole countries” (though he and others present denied the accusation). Democrats: 11,400 People Died from ‘Gun Violence’ Since House Passed Universal Background Checks

Democrat gun control advocates gathered at the Capitol on Thursday to put out a rally call for the Senate to take up the universal background check for gun purchases bill the House passed 114 days ago, claiming 11,400 people have since died from “gun violence.”

That claim, which puts the “gun violence” toll at 100 a day, can’t be squared with any existing data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which tracks mortality from guns but does not have data from this year. Even the so-called Gun Violence Archives, which Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer referenced in his remarks, doesn’t jibe with the stats cited at the rally. . .

Schumer also claimed that there have been 102 mass shootings in the United States since the House passed HR 8, but according to the Gun Violence Archives he references, 176 mass shooting are recorded there and those include a wide range of incidents ranging from domestic murder-suicides to drug and gang-related incidents. . .

But even the leftist VOX website and the New York Times reported that the vast majority of gun deaths are from suicide — 65 percent in 2015, the latest year that the CDC has data. . .

The list from the CDC shows death from guns as Number Ten on its list of the top causes of death in America following heart disease, cancer, accidents, respiratory disease, stroke, diabetes, flu and pneumonia, and kidney disease. China Hosts Taliban Delegation to Enlarge Role in Afghanistan

A Taliban delegation recently traveled to Beijing to discuss U.S.-backed peace efforts as well as “mutual” counterterrorism concerns in Afghanistan, the Chinese foreign ministry confirmed on Thursday.

Indian media reported that New Delhi’s rival Beijing hosted the delegation — led by the Taliban’s political deputy chief Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar — in a bid to expand its role in Afghanistan, which is expected to house projects from Beijing’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

Asked about the Taliban’s visit on Thursday, Lu Kang, a spokesman for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told reporters that the two sides exchanged views “on Afghanistan’s peace and reconciliation process, counter-terrorism and other issues of mutual interest.” . . .

The Trump administration has intensified peace-seeking efforts over the last year, making the political reconciliation between Afghanistan and Kabul the primary goal of its strategy to end the nearly 18-year-old war. Nevertheless, the Taliban’s refusal to allow Kabul to participate in the ongoing negotiations has surfaced as the primary hurdle to the talks.

Taliban narco-jihadis, who are fighting to establish a sharia-compliant Islamic emirate in Afghanistan, consider themselves the only legitimate government of Afghanistan, dismissing Kabul as an American “puppet.” (Read more from “China Hosts Taliban Delegation to Enlarge Role in Afghanistan” HERE)

Ilhan Omar Goes All in to Defend World’s Leading State Sponsor of Terrorism

Far-left Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) repeatedly advocated for Iran — the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism — on Thursday, tweeting multiple times that the United States should not take action against Iran, even as Iran has repeatedly attacked cargo ships in the area and shot down a U.S. military drone this week.

Omar then falsely suggested that the U.S. was the “aggressor” in the situation with Iran, completely ignoring Iran’s multiple attacks on oil tankers in the region in recent weeks and Iran’s decision to shoot down a military drone this week. . .

Later in her tweet thread, Omar wrote: “So I urge you: be strong. Do not listen to the warmongers and war profiteers whispering in your ear. Do not send our men and women into harm’s way. And I urge the American people to make your voice heard. Organize. Call your member of Congress. Let all our leaders know that a war with Iran would be a catastrophe. #NoWarOnIran”

READ IT: Court Releases Graphic Text Messages in Kevin Spacey Sexual Assault Case

According to Fox News, an unidentified young man who alleges that Kevin Spacey groped him repeatedly in a bar several years ago revealed to the court several text messages between him and his girlfriend on the night the alleged incident took place. Throughout the exchange, the accuser explicitly tells his girlfriend that Spacey grabbed his private area multiple times. Transcript below:

Accuser: “Like he’s hangin around me in the bar. He got my nuumber and asked me to come out with him”

. . .

Accuser: “Jesus Christ he reached down my pants” “Help” “No this is Kevin ducking spacey” “He’s gay” “Hes buying me yet another drink” “Help me” “He’s gotten me so many” “I’m drunk” “Help” “Molly” “He grabbed my d—” “Keving spacey is gay” “Check snap” “seriously help” “I’m gonna get he pic” “I got the autographs and a hell of a stout” “Story” “Help me”

. . .”Spacey’s defense wants the accuser’s iPhone, contending that portions of the text exchange were deleted to create a one-sided version of events on the night in question,” reports Fox News. “The defense has sought to conduct a forensic extraction of data and claimed the entire exchange would clear Spacey of charges. They said it would show the interactions between the actor and the then-18-year-old accuser were nothing more than consensual flirting.”

The young man’s attorney, Mitchell Garabedian, told the court that his client’s cellphone used that night could not be found. The judge has now ordered his phone be turned over to the defense team by July 8. (Read more from “READ IT: Court Releases Graphic Text Messages in Kevin Spacey Sexual Assault Case” HERE)

We Make Amazing Medical Advances for Babies, Not for ‘Clumps of Cells’

There’s some happy news in the medical headlines today, as the Cleveland Clinic has joined other top hospitals in successfully performing prenatal surgery to repair spina bifida in utero.

A press release from the clinic details that a child who received the surgery from a team of specialists was born “near full term” earlier this month and that “mother and daughter are doing well.”

“By successfully repairing the defect before birth, we’re allowing this child to have the best possible outcome and significantly improve her quality of life,” said Dr. Darrell Cass, director of fetal surgery in the Cleveland Clinic’s Fetal Center. “There are different measures of quality in determining success for fetal repairs and in this particular case, all metrics for maximum quality were achieved.”

The procedure is similar to a less invasive one recently performed in the United Kingdom, where doctors only had to make three small holes in the mother’s abdomen and womb to fix the child’s spine.

Here’s a video representation of how the surgery worked:

However, Cass also said, “Although the surgery was a success, spina bifida is never cured,” and “moving forward, the baby will require ongoing supportive care provided by a multidisciplinary team of caregivers in our Spina Bifida Clinic.”

Nevertheless, this is still wonderful news for the baby, her family, and other parents on the receiving end of a similar diagnosis. But this news also is also quite instructive for our ongoing debate about the right to life, especially for those facing life with disabilities.

Under a different set of circumstances, after all, this child could easily have been targeted for abortion because of that diagnosis. Her mother would even have found support for killing her among those who in the past few months have defended the selective abortion of people with disabilities, like the opponents of Indiana’s anti-eugenics abortion law, for example, or perhaps among those who openly wonder why a family wouldn’t want to kill a kid with a challenging diagnosis.

But joyful stories like this one remind us that we aren’t just talking about abstract clumps of cells when we discuss those still living in the womb; we’re talking about human beings with their whole lives ahead of them. We’re talking about lives that matter, lives that are worth pushing the boundaries of medical science for, regardless of their circumstances. Ninth Circuit Judges Side with Trump Admin on Planned Parenthood

Judges on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals said Thursday that a pro-life Trump administration rule blocking abortion providers from getting federal Title X dollars can go into effect for now.

A panel of three Republican-appointed judges found that there was no reason to continue lower courts’ injunctions against the proposed pro-life rule, since the Supreme Court already held up similar policies as constitutional almost 30 years ago.

“Absent a stay, HHS will be forced to allow taxpayer dollars to be spent in a manner that it has concluded violates the law, as well as the Government’s important policy interest in ensuring that taxpayer dollars do not go to fund or subsidize abortions,” the three judges wrote in a unanimous opinion.

The 2019 Title X revision, which was put forward back in February, “prohibits the use of Title X funds to perform, promote, refer for, or support abortion as a method of family planning” and also bars funding recipients from performing abortions or referring clients for abortions at the same physical facility that gets the taxpayer money.

The Ninth Circuit judge panel found this rule to be a “reasonable interpretation” of Title X, which was originally passed in 1970 and barred funds from going to “programs where abortion is a method of family planning,” per section 1008.

“We are pleased that the Ninth Circuit has cleared the way for this important executive branch action to take effect while our appeals are pending,” Department of Justice spokeswoman Kelly Laco said in a statement to Blaze Media. “The Department of Justice’s position is supported by long-standing Supreme Court precedent and we are confident we will ultimately prevail on appeal.”

“This ruling is a victory for President Trump and the majority of Americans who do not want to fund the abortion industry with their tax dollars,” pro-life SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser said in a Thursday statement. “The Protect Life Rule simply draws a bright line between abortion and family planning, stopping abortion businesses like Planned Parenthood from treating Title X as their private slush fund without reducing funding by a dime. … We are encouraged by this news and confident the Trump administration will prevail.”

Abortion proponents, however, were steamed at the ruling.

“This decision is wrong,” tweeted Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y. “It will hurt low-income & women of color most of all, making it much harder to find care.”

“The Trump administration’s Title X gag rule will deny access to basic reproductive health care for millions of people,” said 2020 presidential candidate Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y. “I call that a violation of human rights.”

“The Trump-Pence administration’s gag rule is unethical, illegal, and harmful to public health—and Planned Parenthood will not stand for this attack on millions of people across the country,” said Planned Parenthood President Leana Wen. “We will immediately seek emergency relief from the Court of Appeals.” (For more from the author of “Ninth Circuit Judges Side with Trump Admin on Planned Parenthood” please click HERE)

Illegal Alien Rapist Released by Sanctuary City Allegedly Attacks Same Disabled Victim Three Days Later

A 32-year-old disabled woman in King County, Washington, was the ultimate victim of both weak-on-crime policies of local officials and sanctuary city status. The woman, of White Center, Washington, whose name remains unpublished, was raped by Francisco Carranza-Ramirez, 35, a citizen of Mexico, last fall. He served only nine months in prison. Last Thursday, he was released from prison without local law enforcement notifying ICE, and he allegedly went straight to the victim’s home, dumped her out of her wheelchair, and assaulted her in front of her three-year-old son.

Carranza-Ramirez was arrested September 26 for raping the wheelchair-bound woman in her home. He pleaded guilty at an arraignment in February, but because he was only charged with third-degree rape, as part of the deal, King County Superior Court Judge Nicole Gaines-Phelps sentenced him to time served, allowing him to be released the same day he was sentenced, on June 13, after just nine months in prison. His lawyer convinced the judge to release him without any probation.

Here is the twist. Typically, lawyers for illegal aliens try to cover their immigration status so they are not deported. In this case, the lawyers openly used his immigration status to avoid probation supervision upon release. His lawyer suggested that because he was homeless in King County and planned to board the next flight to Mexico, there was no need for further involvement in the American justice system. Having it both ways, the judge granted him full release on condition he register as a sex offender and provide proof that he left the country by June 25. Thus, the entire leniency was predicated on him being a Mexican citizen, but at the same time, neither the judge, the prosecutor, nor any local law enforcement notified ICE that this man was released.

Sanctuary city officials often contend that they have no interest in performing immigration work, yet in order to release this man without any supervision, the judge actually engaged in her own “self-deport” deal without getting ICE involved.

The result? Carranza-Ramirez didn’t fly to Mexico. He violated the protection order by coming within 1,000 feet of the victim just two days later on June 15. The next day, King County sheriff’s detectives say, he came to the victim’s home, knocked her out of her wheelchair, and attempted to strangle her in front of her three-year-old son. Sheriff’s deputies found her Sunday night on the ground with cuts and bruises and her wheelchair overturned. She was treated in a local hospital for a seizure and concussion and then released to a hiding place.

This could easily have been avoided had he been transferred to ICE or had ICE at least been notified of his release. Bryan Wilcox, acting field office director for Seattle’s ICE office, confirmed with KOMO that Ramirez “has committed a crime that would make him eligible for removal from the United States.” Now he remains a fugitive, and there is an arrest warrant out charging him with assault, felony harassment, intimidating a witness, and felony violation of a sex assault protection order.

To begin with, even putting immigration status aside, this is yet another example of how, despite all the talk of “over-sentencing” in the justice system, there are far more examples of under-sentencing, even for the most violent criminals. Here is an account of what happened last year, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer:

Carranza-Ramirez first talked to the woman on Sept. 24, 2018. He allegedly approached her, talked to her but then she said she had to pick up her 2-year-old son and go to dinner.

He met the two later at the restaurant where she felt uncomfortable throughout the dinner, probable cause documents said. He offered to give the two a ride home as they lived close and she accepted. When they got home, he walked into the apartment with her with no invitation.

She told police he started touching her, telling her inappropriate and uncomfortable things like “I want to feel you.” She said she was scared of him, too scared to do anything when he carried her out of her wheelchair and allegedly raped her in her bedroom, documents said. He left afterward and she said she called 911, but hung up, feeling too scared.

Two days later, he entered her apartment again after walking her and her son back from the mailbox. She said he pushed her wheelchair to the bedroom where he raped her. She told him to stop repeatedly, until she convinced him she had to go to the bathroom. She called 911, but halfway through the call heard him move and put the phone down. The operator reportedly heard the woman saying “stop” and “I’ll be quiet.”

When deputies arrived, the woman was able to get away from Carranza-Ramirez, and deputies arrested him in the bedroom.

It is unconscionable that this man was sentenced to time served without any supervised release, but it clearly happens all too often, especially in “sanctuary-minded” jurisdictions that believe in “criminal justice reform.”

Then there is the egregious horror that a criminal alien was able to terrorize this woman multiple times, yet was never turned over to ICE. Last year, the King County Council adopted a policy of refusing to notify ICE or hold criminal aliens to be detained.

Moreover, in May, Governor Jay Inslee signed a law barring localities from even inquiring about immigration status. This is the single most important piece of information upon arrest, much more that someone’s race, because it makes all the difference of whether that person can be released to victimize more people or be returned to their home countries. Again, the state officials are having it both ways. If they want to “see no evil, hear no evil” about immigration status, that is fine. ICE has the ability to monitor the arrest records and inform local law enforcement with incontrovertible evidence that the person in custody is here illegally. But then they want to release them without informing ICE, even after ICE already confirmed the status.

Thus, states like Washington are not just washing their hands of immigration enforcement, they are actively harboring federal criminals.

On Monday, ICE released a mini-list of some recent egregious cases of violent criminals being released in Oregon and Washington thanks to sanctuary policies. In April, an illegal alien from Mexico was arrested in Oregon for raping a dog that later had to be euthanized. He was released two months prior to the incident, against an ICE detainer request. Oregon is currently considering a bill to grant illegal aliens driver’s licenses.

To date, Congress has declined to pass any legislation fixing the sanctuary city problem. With millions of criminal aliens remaining in the country, many of them harbored by sanctuary cities, that is the ultimate humanitarian crisis for the American people, yet Congress only sees humanitarian concerns about those they have not sworn an oath to protect.

Speaking for so many nameless victims in this country who don’t have international lawyers or Kim Kardashian in their court, this victim told KIRO, “I feel like the police did their job but the rest of the criminal justice system thoroughly let me down.” (For more from the author of “Illegal Alien Rapist Released by Sanctuary City Allegedly Attacks Same Disabled Victim Three Days Later” please click HERE)

President Trump Sends Ominous Warning to Iran After U.S. Drone Was Shot Down

President Donald Trump on Thursday responded with a warning after Iran’s Revolutionary Guard shot down a U.S. drone.

Taking to Twitter, the president declared Iran has “made a very big mistake!”

According to the Associated Press, the Iranian military said it shot down a RQ-4 Global Hawk drone over Iranian airspace. Revolutionary Guard commander General Hossein Salami commented that the shooting of the drone was intended to send “a clear message” to America and added that Iran does “not have any intention for war with any country, but we are ready for war.”

The U.S. says the drone was shot down over international airspace in the Strait of Hormuz. The U.S. military’s central command characterized the incident as an “unprovoked attack.”

The attack on the drone comes amid heightened tensions between the U.S. and Iran, just days after the Trump administration says Iran attacked two oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman. President Trump’s national security adviser, John Bolton, and Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., have been the most outspoken proponents of threatening retaliatory military action against Iran. The president himself has reportedly shown skepticism about military intervention in Iran, calling the oil tanker attack “very minor.”

Could the president’s tweet mean his position has changed? (For more from the author of “President Trump Sends Ominous Warning to Iran After U.S. Drone Was Shot Down” please click HERE)
