Israel Honors Trump with Settlement in the Golan Heights

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu unveiled Sunday a new Jewish settlement in the internationally contested Golan Heights named after President Donald Trump.

The settlement is called “Trump Heights” — or “Ramat Heights” in Hebrew — and essentially renames an existing settlement in Kela Alon that was built decades ago, the Wall Street Journal reported. Fewer than a dozen Israeli citizens live in the settlement, which sits just 12 miles from the Syrian border.

Netanyahu revealed the settlement during a meeting of his cabinet.

“We are going to do two things — establish a new community on the Golan Heights, something that has not been done for many years. This is an act of Zionism and it is paramount,” he said, according to the New York Post. “The second thing is to honor our friend, a very great friend of the State of Israel — President Donald Trump, who recently recognized Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights.” . . .

The move was internationally condemned, and did not generate any worldwide support. The international community maintains that Israel has illegal control over the Golan despite winning control over the the majority of the land during the Six-Day War in 1967. Israel officially annexed Golan in 1981.

Top Obama Adviser Downplays Iran Attacks — Dan Crenshaw Hits Back with Stinging Fact Check

. . .On Thursday, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo publicly blamed Iran for attacking two oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman.

“This assessment is based on intelligence, the weapons used, the level of expertise needed to execute the operation, recent similar Iranian attacks on shipping, and the fact that no proxy group operating in the area has the resources and proficiency to act with such a high degree of sophistication,” Pompeo said.

In response, Rhodes — one of former President Barack Obama’s most trusted advisers, who also architected the failed Iran nuclear deal — downplayed the significance of Pompeo’s announcement.

“This definitely feels like the kind of incident where you’d want an international investigation to establish what happened,” Rhodes said. “Huge risk of escalation.” . . .

In response to Rhodes’ comments, Crenshaw hit back on Friday with a fact check and brief history lesson, calling Rhodes “not really a trusted source to weigh in on Iran.”

Here’s How Quick Trump Says Dems Could Solve Border Crisis

President Trump said Democrats could stop stonewalling over immigration and solve the issue with just a quick meeting, in remarks broadcast Sunday with ABC News’ “This Week” anchor George Stephanopoulos.

“The border should be done, George. The border… The Democrats should come in and 15 minutes to an hour we can have it all solved. It’s so simple,” the president said at the White House.

He added: “The things that we’re talking about you shouldn’t have to give. It’s so– there are three and four loopholes you solve those loopholes you no longer have a problem at the border. They should want to do it. But they don’t want to do it because of political reasons.”

Mexico announced recently that it was sending 6,000 agents of its new, still-forming, militarized police force known as the National Guard to its southern region for immigration enforcement as part of a deal with Washington to avoid Trump’s threatened tariffs on Mexican imports.

The number of migrant apprehensions at the U.S.-Mexico border was 132,887 in May, the highest monthly total in a decade. Many making the hazardous journey have been trying to escape poverty and violence in Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador, and the U.S. has been pushing Mexico to crack down. 2020 Dem Claims He Wouldn’t Be the First Gay President

By Fox News. Mayor Pete Buttigieg doesn’t believe he’ll be the first gay president if elected in 2020.

“I would imagine we’ve probably had excellent presidents who were gay — we just didn’t know which ones,” he told “Axios on HBO.” . . .

Asked if he possibly knew which commander-in-chief was playing for the other team, the Democratic hopeful said: “My gaydar even doesn’t work that well in the present, let alone retroactively. But one can only assume that’s the case.”

Buttigieg — who is mayor of South Bend, Ind. — has been rising in the polls as of late. He would be the first openly gay presidential candidate, if nominated next next year. (Read more from “2020 Dem Claims He Wouldn’t Be the First Gay President” HERE)

Pete Buttigieg Rising In Polls

By The NY Post. Five of the 2020 Democratic presidential hopefuls would defeat President Trump if the election were held today, with Joe Biden leading Trump by 10 percentage points, according to a new poll released Sunday.

Biden tops Trump 49 percent to 39 percent, the Fox News Poll found, followed by Sen. Bernie Sanders 49 to 40 percent, Sen. Elizabeth Warren at 43 to 41 percent, Sen. Kamala Harris at 42 to 41 percent and Mayor Pete Buttigieg at 41 to 40 percent. . .

But Warren and Buttigieg, the mayor of South Bend, Ind., both increased their level of support, with Warren going from 4 percent in March to 9 percent and Buttigieg surging from 1 percent in March to 8 percent.

Asked what’s more important to them in deciding which Democratic hopeful they would vote for, 45 percent went with the person “who can defeat Donald Trump,” while 52 percent said a candidate with “high ethical standards,” and 2 percent didn’t know. 2020 Poll Shows an Unexpected Candidate Beating Bernie

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders — the original “Democratic socialist” — is plummeting in the polls, giving rise to a new leader in early primary states: Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA).

A brand new CBS poll out Sunday shows that Warren is now in second place behind former Vice President Joe Biden in early primary states, edging out Sanders by at least one point, and she’s closing in on Biden.

“Biden is the first choice for 31 percent of voters in 18 early voting states, according to the survey, followed by Warren with 17 percent, Sanders with 16 percent and Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) with 10 percent,” The Hill reports. “When Democratic voters are asked which candidate they are considering supporting and allowed to choose as many candidates as they want, Biden still leads with 55 percent, but Warren is closer behind, with 49 percent saying they are considering supporting her.”

That’s definitely bad news for Sanders, who was once thought to be an un-catchable second place to Biden, and who experts thought would likely give Biden a run for his money, given his newfound status as the father of the “Democratic socialist” movement that’s gone on to earn seats in the House and Senate.

Sanders is also at the capstone of his campaign, delivering speech after speech on the “definition” of Democratic socialism, hoping to take the reins of a movement popular with young, minority, and hard-left progressive voters. On Saturday, Sanders gave what he called a “comprehensive” speech on socialism in an attempt to define not just his campaign, but a new party platform. 2020 Dem to Present His Forced AR-15 Confiscation Plan

By Breitbart. Democrat presidential hopeful Eric Swalwell (D-CA) suggests he will enumerate his gun control agenda near the NRA’s national headquarters Monday.

The cornerstone of his plan is the forced buyback of every AR-15, AK-47, and similar commonly-owned semiautomatic rifles in the U.S.

Swalwell initially intimated the government could nuke Americans who refuse to comply with the confiscatory plan, then softened the push by telling CNN’s Jake Tapper that the non-compliant would simply face jail time. He also added a third option–those who did not want to give their guns to the government could instead take them to a hunting or shooting club. Swalwell to Pitch Gun Control Plan near NRA Headquarters

By The Hill. The California Democrat announced Friday he will unveil a “comprehensive national framework for ending gun violence” at a news conference Monday near the NRA’s national headquarters in Fairfax, Va.

“We’re done letting the bullying, tweeting minority that leads the NRA dictate whether Americans live or die,” he said. “I’m taking the battle to the NRA’s doorstep with a new, broader package of commonsense reforms to end gun violence. We’re done relying on thoughts and prayers – it’s time to act.”

Swalwell, who has made gun control the centerpiece of his long-shot Democratic presidential bid, has come out in support of measures like an assault weapons ban and a mandatory national buyback. (Read more from “Swalwell to Pitch Gun Control Plan near NRA Headquarters” HERE)

Trump Announces His Anti-Socialism Health Care Expansion

By Breitbart. President Donald Trump announced plans Friday to expand health care for small business and workers through health reimbursement arrangements (HRA).

Trump said that the expansions of HRAs would allow families to start shopping around for health care plans that they wanted and to get reimbursed by their employers. . .

Trump warned Americans away from free government healthcare plans proposed by Sen. Bernie Sanders, pointing out that it would lead to socialism.

“That’s going to hurt a lot of people,” Trump said, warning of worse care and long wait times under a government-run system.

“We have to reject the socialist model,” Trump said, calling for freedom of choice and access to the best health care plans. (Read more from “Trump Announces His Anti-Socialism Health Care Expansion” HERE)

Executive Order to Aid Employee Access to Individual Health Plans

By Health Payer Intelligence. The Trump Administration issued an executive order that will allow employers to help employees pay for health insurance via health reimbursement arrangements. . .

According to the Department of Health & Human Services, an estimated 800,000 employers and 11 million employees and dependents will benefit from the executive order. . .

HHS provided a brief description of how the rule will impact employers and employees next year:

Under the rule, starting in January 2020, employers will be able to use what are referred to as individual coverage HRAs to provide their workers with tax-preferred funds to pay for the cost of health insurance coverage that workers purchase in the individual market, subject to certain conditions. These conditions strike the right balance between employer flexibility and guardrails meant to protect the individual market against adverse selection, and include a notice requirement to ensure employees understand the benefit. Individual coverage HRAs are designed to give working Americans and their families greater control over their healthcare by providing an additional way for employers to finance health insurance.

Alaska Supreme Court Rules State Sex Offender Registry Law Unconstitutional

The Alaska Supreme Court ruled that a state law requiring the registry of all sex offenders is unconstitutional because it violates offenders’ rights to due process. The ruling was issued Friday.

In a 3-2 decision, the court said an offender must be given the chance to prove he or she is rehabilitated and no longer remains a threat to the public.

“Our decision requiring an individualized risk-assessment hearing is based on the judicial power,” the court wrote in its opinion. If an offender “can show at a hearing that he does not pose a risk requiring registration, then there is no compelling reason requiring him to register, and the fact that ASORA does not provide for such a hearing means that the statute is unnecessarily broad.”

The court, however, upheld a lower court ruling mandating the registration of sex offenders upon moving to Alaska if they were required to register in another state as well.

The Alaska Sex Offender Registry Act requires sex offenders to register with law enforcement 30 days before being released from jail or prison or within a day of a conviction where the sentence doesn’t include jail time. Machete-Wielding 11-Year-Old Foils Home Invasion

An 11-year-old boy in North Carolina struck an intruder in the back of the head with a machete to foil a home invasion on Friday, according to reports.

The boy, who was home alone, answered a knock on the front door and saw a woman standing there. Simultaneously, a man broke into the home through a window and used the homeowner’s pellet gun to force the child into a bedroom closet.

The boy escaped the closet and grabbed a machete, using it to strike the man in the head.

He reportedly kicked the child in the stomach but the boy did not give up, swinging again at him but missing. The man again kicked the boy, and began to grab several items, including a television and a PlayStation, but fled the home without the electronics when he realized he was bleeding, according to a news release from the Orange County Sherriff’s Office. . .

When 19-year-old Jataveon Dashawn Hall, checked into UNC Hospital in Hillsborough, authorities were alerted. He’s due in court on Monday, facing charges of breaking and entering, second-degree kidnapping, interfering with emergency communications and assaulting on a child under 12 years old.
