Twitter Suspends Account Allegedly Linked to ‘Leftist’ Ohio Shooter

By Breitbart. Twitter suspended an account Sunday evening allegedly linked to the gunman who killed nine and wounded dozens outside a Dayton, Ohio, bar early Sunday morning, after several reports identified the account and noted its left-wing political orientation.

The user, “@iamthespookster,” identified as a “leftist,” according to the Twitter profile. The suspended account tweeted in support of socialism, against the election of President Donald Trump, and in favor of Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) for president in 2020.

Heavy.com reported: “Connor Betts, the Dayton, Ohio mass shooter, was a self-described ‘leftist,’ who wrote that he would happily vote for Democrat Elizabeth Warren, praised Satan, was upset about the 2016 presidential election results, and added, ‘I want socialism, and i’ll not wait for the idiots to finally come round to understanding.’”

The Washington Times published a similar report, and Daily Wire reporter Ryan Saavedra tweeted what he said were screenshots of retweets from the account:

Dayton Police Killed Shooter Within 30 Seconds of First Shot

By NPR. It took about 30 seconds to bring down the gunman who killed nine people and injured 27 others in a crowded section of downtown Dayton, Ohio, early on Sunday morning — just hours after another scene of violence ravaged the Texas city of El Paso.

But figuring out why the alleged shooter, Connor Betts, who lived with his family in a sleepy suburban Midwestern community, descended on scores of innocent people — including his younger sister and a friend — is a question that will take much longer to solve, said Dayton Police Chief Richard Biehl in a press conference Sunday afternoon.

What officials have offered is a timeline of the deadly events that ended in dozens of lives upended almost instantly. On duty officers first heard shots at 1:05 a.m. as they patrolled what is normally a safe and lively part of the city just before local bars shut down. Within approximately 20 seconds, six officers were running toward the hail of bullets pouring from the shooter’s .223-caliber high capacity rifle with 100-round drum magazines.

“They engaged a suspect who was actively firing and attempting to enter a crowded liquor establishment,” Biehl said.

Ten seconds later, the shooter, who was wearing a mask, a bulletproof vest and hearing protection, was dead. Lying beside the body was a shotgun that had not been discharged (Read more from “Dayton Police Killed Shooter Within 30 Seconds of First Shot” HERE)

White House Pushes Back: Shootings Not Trump’s Fault

By Breitbart. Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney said President Donald Trump should not be blamed for mass shootings.

Mulvaney said, “I blame the people who pulled the triggers. Is someone really blaming the president? These people are sick. And until we address why people think this way. This young man —let’s be clear, we know nothing about the shooter in Dayton, we’re just talking about the shooter in El Paso. This was a sick person. You can go and read the things the person wrote, now available to the public, making the person famous.” (Read more from “White House Pushes Back: Shootings Not Trump’s Fault” HERE)

Democrats Aim Their Outrage at Trump After Two Mass Shootings

By Reuters. Two mass shootings that killed 29 people in Texas and Ohio reverberated across the U.S. political arena on Sunday, with some Democratic presidential candidates accusing President Donald Trump of stoking racial divisions while he said “hate has no place in our country.”

Dozens were also wounded Saturday and early Sunday in shootings within just 13 hours of each other in carnage that shocked a country that has become grimly accustomed to mass shootings and heightened concerns about domestic terrorism.

The first massacre occurred on Saturday morning in the heavily Hispanic border city of El Paso, where a gunman killed 20 people at a Walmart store before surrendering. Authorities in Texas said the rampage appeared to be a racially motivated hate crime and federal prosecutors are treating it as a case of domestic terrorism.

Across the country, a gunman opened fire in a downtown district of Dayton, Ohio, early on Sunday, killing nine people, including his sister, and wounding at least 27 others. The assailant, identified as Connor Betts, a 24-year-old white man, was taken down by police within 30 seconds but authorities still did not know his motive for the attack, the city’s police chief said.

The El Paso shooting sent shock waves onto the campaign trail for next year’s presidential election, with most Democratic candidates repeating calls for tighter gun control measures and some drawing connections to a resurgence in white nationalism and xenophobic politics in the United States. Palestinian Rioters Raise Nazi Swastika Flag

Palestinian rioters raised a Nazi swastika along with a Palestinian flag during the weekly Gaza border riots on Friday, where some 6,000 protesters gathered — many of whom threw rocks, firebombs and explosive devices at IDF forces.

On its Twitter page, the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit posted a picture of the swastika underneath a Palestinian flag with a text written in poetry form chastising the move as “sheer hatred” and ending with a promise that Israeli troops would “defend Israel today and every single day.”

Fifty-one Palestinians were injured, 24 of them by IDF live fire, the Hamas-run Gaza health ministry reported.

The beginning of the year saw a dramatic spike in violence along the Gaza border with the so-called March of Return protests, with daily airborne incendiary devices being flown over the border, infiltrations and shootings. Hamas and other Gaza-based groups have also increasingly relied on drones and quadcopters to gather intelligence and track IDF movements. Watch: Trump Addresses the Nation Following Shootings in El Paso, Dayton

By Fox News. President Donald Trump on Sunday addressed the mass shootings that took place in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio this weekend.

He took the opportunity to thank law enforcement for their efforts and preparation for such a tragic event.

“My condolences to the people of El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio. They’re incredible people and they’ve been through a lot,” Trump said next to the First Lady outside at Morristown Airport in New Jersey.

“I just want to thank the law enforcement, in both places, the job they’ve done is incredible. I also want to congratulate them. No one could have done what they’ve done,” Trump said. “This could have been, as bad as it was, much worse. I just want to thank them. The job they’ve done is incredible. In El Paso, they were there so quickly. And in Dayton, less than a minute.”

“Think of the damage he did in such a short period of time, in less than a minute, and law enforcement acted and killed him and it would have been it would have been unbelievable. It was horrible but it could have been so much worse, it would have been so much worse,” Trump said. (Read more from “Watch: Trump Addresses the Nation Following Shootings in El Paso, Dayton” HERE)

Ohio Gunman Had Bulletproof Vest, Was Stopped Within 30 Seconds of Opening Fire Outside Bar, Police Say

By Fox News. The gunman in the deadly rampage in Dayton, Ohio, was wearing a mask, bulletproof vest, earplugs and was carrying a rifle capable of holding at least 100 rounds when he opened fire outside a bar, killed nine – including his sister – and injured more than two dozen, one in critical condition, police said Sunday.

Dayton police Chief Richard Biehl told reporters in a news conference on Sunday afternoon that the gunman, identified as 24-year-old Connor Betts, showed up to the city’s Oregon District around Fifth Street with his sister and a friend on Saturday night. He added the three separated at some point between when they arrived and when Betts opened fire, saying it is unknown what happened during that time.

Biehl said police officers in the area engaged him seconds after the first gunshots were heard and the gunman was “neutralized” within 30 seconds after the first of “dozens of rounds.” Betts was shot and killed by police before he entered Ned Peppers Bar. He was using a .223-caliber rifle.

“At 1:05 a.m. officers were patrolling the Oregon District during bar closing time and heard gunfire. They observed a large crowd running away from this gunfire,” Biehl told reporters.

“The officer’s immediately advance toward the gunfire and within approximately 20 seconds, they engaged the suspect who was actively firing and attempting to enter a crowded liquor establishment. The threat was neutralized in approximately 30 seconds of the suspect firing his first shot.” (Read more from “Ohio Gunman Had Bulletproof Vest, Was Stopped Within 30 Seconds of Opening Fire Outside Bar, Police Say” HERE)

Watch: Beto O’Rourke Calls Trump an ‘Avowed Racist,’ and Compares His Language to the ‘Third Reich’

On Sunday, former congressman and current 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke appeared on a bevy of morning shows to speak about the horrific shooting that took place in El Paso on Saturday.

During his appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union,” he partially blamed President Trump’s “anti-immigrant rhetoric” for the attack, and compared such language to what one might hear from “the Third Reich.” . . .

After a lengthy pause, O’Rourke replied:

I don’t know the point that you’re trying to make here, Jake, but it’s pretty obvious to me and anyone who’s listened to the President and will look at the facts that his anti-immigrant rhetoric – not just the things that I cited, but calling asylum-seekers “animals” or an “infestation.” Now, you might describe a cockroach or termites as an infestation – something less than human. You might hear someone in the Third Reich describe a given people based on their characteristic as an infestation or subhuman, but that’s what the President of the United States is doing right now, and it’s not just with Mexican immigrants, conflating congresswoman Ilhan Omar with the terrorists from 9/11, encouraging that chanting in North Carolina of “send her back.”

Let’s not mince words right now. This president is encouraging greater racism, and not just the racist rhetoric, but the violence that so often follows. This shooter in the manifesto cites, in part, for his inspiration the shooter in Christchurch, New Zealand, who cites Donald Trump as his inspiration. This anti-immigrant rhetoric – and again, it is not just President Trump, but he’s certainly, as the person in the position of greatest public trust [in] power, most responsible for it. This is Fox News; this is what we’re seeing on the internet; this is the the toleration of intolerance and hatred and racism in this country; this is what is causing what we are seeing here today, and it will continue to happen unless we call it out and unless we change it.

Victoria’s Secret Hires First Transgender Model

. . .According to Fox News, lingerie empire Victoria’s Secret has hired its first transgender model — Valentina Sampaio of Brazil.

“Victoria’s Secret has reportedly hired its first-ever transgender model — less than a year after the lingerie company came under fire after an executive made remarks about transgender people walking in its annual fashion show,” reports the outlet.

Speculation as to Sampaio’s inclusion among the Victoria’s Secret roster began when the transgender model posted a photo of himself at a shoot with “VS Pink” on Instagram. Shortly thereafter, the Brazilian model Lais Ribeiro tweeted that she was “so happy” that Sampaio experienced his first photoshoot with Victoria’s Secret.

The inclusion of Sampaio comes months after L. Brands’ (parent company of Victoria’s Secret) Chief Marketing Officer Ed Razek sparked the ire of social justice leftists when he told Vogue that little interest exists for plus-size and trans models on the runway.

“I think we address the way the market is shifting on a constant basis. If you’re asking if we’ve considered putting a transgender model in the show or looked at putting a plus-size model in the show, we have,” Razek said, adding that the sister division, Lane Bryant, was created to fill that consumer need. Mexico Plans to Take Legal Action Against the U.S. as a Result of El Paso Shooting

Mexican Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard on Sunday vowed to take legal action against the United States after at least three Mexican nationals were killed during Saturday’s shooting at an El Paso Walmart. Of the 26 that were injured, at least nine were Mexican nationals, NBC reported.

According to Ebrard, the shooting was an “act of barbarism,” but the United States failed to protect Mexican citizens.

“The president has instructed me to ensure that Mexico’s indignation translates into … efficient, prompt, expeditious and forceful legal actions for Mexico to take a role and demand that conditions are established that protect … Mexicans in the United States,” Ebrard said in a Twitter video.

In his alleged manifesto, 21-year-old Patrick Wood Cruisus said he was carrying out of his attack because of the illegal immigration invasion that threatens our nation. El Paso is predominantly Hispanic or Latino. (Read more from “Mexico Plans to Take Legal Action Against the U.S. as a Result of El Paso Shooting” HERE)

Supreme Court May Hear Case That Could Leave the 2A in Disarray

North Carolina-based Remington Arms has asked the Supreme Court to decide, once and for all, if gun manufacturers should be held responsible for crimes committed with their product. Remington has been in a drawn out legal battle with a survivor and families of the Sandy Hook shooting that took place in Sandy Hook, Connecticut in 2012. The gunman used a Bushmaster XM15-E2S, commonly referred to as an AR-15, to carry out his attack that left 26 dead, including 20 children and seven adults. One of the victims was his mother.

The request comes after the Connecticut Supreme Court ruled 4-3 that Remington, Busmaster’s parent company, could be sued on state law because of how the rifle was marketed to the public, the Associated Press reported. A lower court judge had originally threw the case out, saying Remington was protected under the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act, which protects firearms manufacturers and dealers from being held liable when a person commits a crime with one of their products.

“The Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act was passed with bipartisan support in order rightfully assign responsibility and accountability to those who commit crimes,” the National Shooting Sports Foundation’s Director of Public Affairs, Mark Oliva, told Townhall. “Those seeking to hold manufacturers responsible for the crimes of individuals who purposefully and criminally misuse firearms are wrongfully assigning blame. This would be no different than holding Ford responsible for this who commit heinous crimes with their vehicles.

Remington lawyers made their appeal to the high court.

“Congress enacted the (law) to ensure that firearms — so central to American society that the Founders safeguarded their ownership and use in the Bill of Rights — would be regulated only through the democratic process rather than the vagaries of litigation,” Remington lawyers Scott Keller and Stephanie Cagniart wrote to the U.S. Supreme Court. Revealed: Google’s Agenda to Beat Trump in 2020

By Fox News. A former Google engineer who claims he has been blacklisted by the tech giant says he believes the company will try to influence the outcome of the 2020 presidential election.

“They really want Trump to lose in 2020. That’s their agenda,” Kevin Cernekee said Friday on Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight.” . . .

Cenekee was fired in June 2018 after Google told him he was terminated for misuse of the company’s equipment, including its software system for remote access. However, Cernekee, who describes himself as a whistleblower, maintains he was terminated for his outspoken conservative views.

The former Googler told the Wall Street Journal that, after his posts to the tech giant’s internal message boards in early 2015 annoyed some of his colleagues, he received an official warning from Google’s human resources department. His conduct had reportedly been deemed “disrespectful and insubordinate.” . . .

Cernekee spent the next three years fighting the Mountain View, Calif.-based firm over the alleged violations and arguing that conservative employees were being treated unfairly, according to the report, which cites interviews, documents and copies of posts on the company’s internal message boards. Begala: Democrats Setting Themselves up to Lose to Trump by Running Far to the Left in Primary

By Real Clear Politics. Democratic operative, Clintonworld insider and CNN political contributor Paul Begala said Thursday that Joe Biden should have defended the Obama administration’s record on deportations and Sen. Kamala Harris shouldn’t have been afraid to defend her record as a prosecutor and an attorney general at the Democratic presidential primary debate on Wednesday.

“When Bill de Blasio said this about deportations, the vice president should have said, ‘some people need to be deported,'” Begala advised. “In the Obama administration, the president targeted people who were violent, people who committed felonies while they’re here and, yes, some people who lied on their applications but that’s a crime too.”

Begala warned that Democrats are moving to the left to win the primary only to set themselves up for a general election loss against President Donald Trump.

“I believe many of these candidates seeking to win the nomination are setting themselves up to lose the presidency to Donald Trump,” Begala told CNN host Jake Tapper. (Read more from “Begala: Democrats Setting Themselves up to Lose to Trump by Running Far to the Left in Primary” HERE)

An Impeachment Inquiry Has Begun

Those eager for the start of an official inquiry by the U.S. House Judiciary Committee into the possible impeachment of President Trump need wait no longer.

A memorandum, submitted by the committee on July 26 to the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia and signed by the general counsel of the U.S. House of Representatives, makes clear that such an inquiry has begun.

The memorandum is in support of an application for access to all redactions of grand jury material in the Mueller report, in grand jury materials referenced in the report, and to any grand jury testimony or material directly related to four topics. The topics include the president’s knowledge of Russian interference in the 2016 election, links and contacts of his associates directly or indirectly with Russia, and criminal acts by anyone associated with his administration or campaign.

Under Rule 6(e) of the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure, a judge may grant access to confidential grand jury material when sought in preparation for, or use in, a judicial proceeding. The committee urges that an impeachment investigation is a judicial proceeding for purposes of this exception to grand jury secrecy.

Then the committee makes clear that it is engaged in just such an impeachment investigation. Its statement is unequivocal: “The Committee seeks Rule 6(e) materials to further its ongoing investigation and assessment of whether to recommend articles of impeachment.” (Read more from “An Impeachment Inquiry Has Begun” HERE)
