Former Marine Had Firearms Seized Under ‘Red Flag’ Law over Anti-Antifa Comments

By The Blaze. Shane Kohfield, a Trump supporting former Marine, had his firearms confiscated by law enforcement last month under Oregon’s new “red flag” law.

The FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task took “extraordinary steps” against Kohfield last month after he threatened to “slaughter” Antifa in self-defense during a demonstration outside Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler’s house, the Oregonian reported.

“If Antifa gets to the point where they start killing us, I’m going to kill them next,” Kohfield reportedly said. “I’d slaughter them and I have a detailed plan on how I would wipe out Antifa.”

FBI agents reportedly responded within days, forcing Kohfield to temporarily surrender his firearms — which included an AR-15, handgun, rifle, and shotgun — to authorities. He was also committed to a veteran’s hospital for psychiatric observation. . .

Oregon’s red flag law allows a judge to issue an “extreme risk protection order” against individuals who law enforcement or family members believe is potentially violent to themselves or others. He returned home Tuesday from the VA hospital and maintains he never planned to hurt or maim other people. But he understands why he alarmed police.

“I looked unhinged. I looked dangerous and have the training to be dangerous,” said Kohfield, who lives with his father in Canby and receives disability payments for physical and psychological injuries he sustained during two tours of duty in Iraq. . .

WATCH: Beto O’Rourke Reaffirms Dark Gun Control Plan — and Says It Won’t Be Voluntary

Democratic presidential contender Beto O’Rourke reaffirmed his vision for gun control Sunday in the wake of another shooting tragedy in Texas that left seven people murdered and nearly two dozen others injured.

“What we’ve been saying, the rhetoric we’ve been using, the policies and practices and politics of this country has not been as urgent enough as needed. Doesn’t meet this crisis,” O’Rourke said on MSNBC.

“So let’s speak clearly and bluntly and then take decisive action: Universal background checks, red flag laws, ending the sales of weapons of war, but also importantly, and politically difficult to say, buy those weapons of war back. Mandate that. Not voluntarily,” O’Rourke continued. . .

O’Rourke began advocating mandatory gun buybacks last month, which critics argue is essentially gun confiscation veiled in softer rhetoric. O’Rourke would force owners of firearms like the AR-15 to turn over their rifle to the government or face a fine.

Amazon, Google Reap 15 Percent Discount to Hire Foreigners over American Graduates

The federal government is helping giant multinational corporations such as Amazon and Google to reap a 15 percent discount every time foreign workers are hired over American college graduates, says Hilarie Gamm, author of Billions Lost: The American Tech Crisis and The Road Map to Change and co-founder of the American Workers Coalition.

During an exclusive interview with SiriusXM Patriot’s Breitbart News Tonight, Gamm explained how the Optional Practical Training (OPT) program provides a tax incentive, and thus a subsidy paid for by U.S. taxpayers, for corporations to hire foreign workers over American graduates. . .

“So what’s happening today is you’ll have children that are American citizens where their parents have basically bankrupted themselves to send their kids to these American universities and they’ll be sitting alongside their foreign friends who are … earning the same degree,” Gamm continued. “And those foreign children will have a job offer in hand when they graduate and the American child will not have even gotten an interview for that same company.”

As Gamm explained, corporations like Amazon, Google, Deloitte, and Intel employ thousands of OPT foreign workers over American STEM graduates every year. In 2017, alone, Amazon had placed nearly 2,400 OPT foreign workers into white-collar STEM jobs that could have otherwise gone to American graduates. . .

“So where a Jane Doe is hired and they have to contribute and pay into Medicare and Social Security when they have a job because they are an American citizen and then their employer, let’s say Deloitte, has to contribute as well,” Gamm said. “In the case of an OPT candidate and hire, neither the … worker or Deloitte has to pay … anything if they are an OPT hire. Bernie Goes Full Oprah: Promises to Erase Billions in Medical Debt

The Democratic primary war is truly something to behold. One Democrat after another promises voters the world and then some. Heck, the universe and then some. See their plans to erase student debt. It’s insane, it’ll cost taxpayers a ridiculous amount, but a Democrat who opposes erasing student debt will have to fight an uphill battle to win the nomination. Yes, even if his name happens to be Joe Biden.

Well, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders has just upped the ante. He now promises to erase $81 billion in medical debt. I kid you not. HeadlinezPro explains:

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) revealed one other piece of his plan to overtake the well being care system in America on Saturday, teasing his proposal to cancel $81 billion in previous medical debt.

In an announcement, Sanders said that “in the United States of America, your financial life and future should not be destroyed because you or a member of your family gets sick.” He went on to say that he is “sick and tired of seeing over 500,000 Americans declare bankruptcy each year because they cannot pay off the outrageous cost of a medical emergency or a hospital stay.”

President Trump: Stronger Background Checks Would Not Stop Attacks

While speaking to reporters Sunday morning President Trump said stronger background checks would not have stopped the mass public attacks our nation has witnessed over the past six or seven years.

Trump said, “I will say that for the most part, sadly if you look at the last four or five going back even five or six or seven years, for the most part, as strong as you make your background checks, they would not have stopped any of it.” . . .

On August 20, Breitbart News reported Trump saying, “We have very, very strong background checks right now. But we have, sort of, missing areas and areas that don’t complete the whole circle. And we’re looking at different things.”

On August 19, Politico quoted Trump saying, “Congress is going to be reporting back to me with ideas. And they’ll come in from Democrats and Republicans. And I’ll look at it very strongly. But just remember, we already have a lot of background checks.”

NBC reports Trump saying the shooting incidents in the Midland-Odessa area do not change discussions about guns. Trump said, “We are in the process of dealing with Democrats and Republicans, and there’s a big package of things that’s going to be put before them by a lot of different people I’ve been speaking to a lot of senators, a lot of house members, Republicans, Democrats — this really hasn’t changed anything, we’re doing a package and we’ll see how it comes about.” (Read more from “President Trump: Stronger Background Checks Would Not Stop Attacks” HERE)

Hurricane Dorian Strikes Bahamas with Record Fury as Category 5 Storm

By AP. Hurricane Dorian struck the northern Bahamas on Sunday as a catastrophic Category 5 storm, its record 185 mph winds ripping off roofs and tearing down power lines as hundreds hunkered in schools, churches and other shelters.

Dorian hit land in Elbow Cay in the Abaco Islands at 12:40 p.m., and then made a second landfall near Marsh Harbour on Great Abaco Island at 2 p.m., after authorities made last-minute pleas for those in low-lying areas to evacuate. . .

‘Catastrophic’ Hurricane Dorian Could Linger for Days After Landfall in Bahamas

By NBC News. Hurricane Dorian, a slow-moving, devastating Category 5 storm, made landfall on Sunday in the northwest Bahamas, where “catastrophic effects” were expected, the National Hurricane Center said.

The storm was forecast to have a long life, remaining a hurricane for the next five days. Hurricane watches and warnings were issued Sunday afternoon for parts of the Florida coast, where Dorian was expected to move “dangerously close” beginning Monday night through Tuesday night, forecasters said. . .

Twelve to 24 inches of rain, and up to 30 inches in some areas, were expected in the northwestern Bahamas, which could lead to life-threatening flash floods, the center said. The Tourism Ministry said only certain parts of the northwestern Bahamas had conducted evacuation procedures, and it strongly advised visitors to leave. . .

At 7 p.m. ET, Dorian was about 70 miles east of Freeport on Grand Bahama Island. It was moving west at just 5 mph and was expected to continue inching westward to west-northwest for the next day or two. Forecasters said it would then likely gradually turn northwest, meaning the core of the storm “will continue to pound Great Abaco this evening and move near or over Grand Bahama Island tonight and Monday.”

Bahamanian authorities said Sunday night that they had lost contact with the Abaco Islands because of an island-wide power failure that knocked out most telephone service. Texas Lawmaker Delivers Blistering Rebuke to Anti-Gun Democrats, Media

Rep. Matt Schaefer (R-Tyler) delivered a blistering rebuke to Second Amendment-hating forces in the media and Democratic Party on Saturday in response to the tragedy in Odessa, Texas, saying that he will not cave and surrender the rights of law-abiding Americans. . .

Schaefer’s tweets came in response to the usual choir of voices from the far-left who demand action in the wake of tragedies, yet never have any solutions to address the problem.

Watch: Former Planned Parenthood Manager Describes Horrific Abortion Procedure

On Saturday, [pro-life] organization Live Action released a video in which Founder Lila Rose interviews Sue Thayer, a former Planned Parenthood manager.

Thayer describes in graphic detail the process by which abortion clinic workers would attempt to put together all the pieces of the terminated fetus in order to make sure everything had been removed from the post-abortive woman’s uterus:

. . .THAYER: Well, when you first start out, they have the trainees stand by the door, and I did that for the first two or three procedures. I finally said, “Why does that happen?” And she said, “Well, usually when somebody comes in for the first time, they pass out,” and I didn’t pass out.

So, after … a few were done, they let me start moving closer so I could get to the foot of the bed and be able to see what was happening, but the whole procedure only takes just three or four minutes, and what they call the “contents of uterus” or “products of conception” are emptied into this gallon jar, and they turn it off and take this suction thing off the gallon jar and set it in the pass-through and it goes into the dirty lab.

So, then you go around the corner and into the dirty lab, take the jar out, put it in this big, like a Rubbermaid colander, and rinse it with this big hose. Then you dump it in this little glass jar and put it on this little shelf that has this bright light, and you bring the light over it, and you kind of piece it back together and try to see if you got all the parts.

Student Investigated After Posting 4-Year-Old Photo of Him at Shooting Range

By Daily Wire. A student in the Iola, Texas, Independent School District (ISD) was searched after he posted a 4-year-old photo of himself shooting a handgun with an adult present.

The male student had posted the photo on Facebook and the caption included the word “school,” so two other students reported the photo. The student who posted the photo was questioned and searched. . .

Even though the student was found not to be a threat, the photo was non-threatening, and no threat against the school was mentioned, he will still be “disciplined according to district policy,” KBTX reported. The outlet reported that the “County Attorney is also reviewing the case” but that no charges have been filed at this time.

Just last week, another high school student was punished because he went to a shooting range with his mother and posted a video on Snapchat of the guns they would be shooting. He captioned the video “Finna be lit,” which someone mistook as a threat.

The student, Nathan Myers, is barred from classes until an investigation is completed. The Daily Wire previously reported that Myers explained to investigators that his caption was simply slang meaning he was “excited” about going to the range. Student Searched for Gun After Old Photo Posted on Social Media

By KBTX-TV. ola ISD is working to put parents at ease after a student’s Facebook post sparked an investigation on the second day of school. The district and law enforcement said there is no threat.

Last week a student made a comment about his school with an older photo of him with a handgun. Investigators say on August 22, an old picture of a male student was posted on social media from when he was 9-years-old. The photo that was taken years ago showed the child and an adult shooting in the country with the child holding a pistol. The Facebook post also mentioned the school with the photo.

“It was a young student, had a handgun in the picture and part of the wording on the picture it had the word “school” in it. So we take that stuff very seriously here. As we investigated we found out the picture was a four-year-old picture,” said Scott Martindale, Iola ISD Superintendent.

“The picture had a caption that mentioned school. It did not threaten the school whatsoever it just mentioned the school,” he explained. . .

Things Are Worse Than We Imagined in China

Earlier this week, I met with some Christian friends who have lived and worked in China for many years. What they shared with me was chilling and sobering. (They are well-connected and not simply airing personal opinions.) . . .

Arrests, brutal interrogations, imprisonments, disruption of meetings, beatings, destroying of “unauthorized” Bibles and Christian books are increasingly common. In one instance that was shared with me, those owning non-approved Bibles and other resources were hit with “stiff fines and the books earmarked for destruction. But not before they (the materials) were first dumped in piles on the street before they were carted off…followed by the pastor who was then sent to prison.” . . .

Second, President Xi really does have megalomaniacal plans. By removing presidential term limits, he is setting himself up to be emperor for life (as my friends couched it).

Not only so, but I was told that the government, from top to bottom, seems to be in lock step with him (in particular, when it comes to persecuting Christians). . .

Third, while the Chinese people may have enjoyed having more liberties, they are more concerned with a healthy economy. And since more and more Chinese have more and more money, they don’t mind the crackdowns on their liberties, which include greater monitoring of their day-to-day lives.
