Trump Claims NYC Inflating Its Coronavirus Death Toll; Death Totals Compiled by CDC Will Now Include ‘Probable’ Cases

By Fox News. President Trump on Wednesday claimed that New York City was inflating its COVID-19 death toll after health officials released new data that added 3,700 victims who were believed to have had the virus’ symptoms but were never tested.

The latest figures, released Tuesday by NYC’s Health Department, rose the death toll to more than 10,000, making the city one of the major epicenters of the pandemic.

“I see this morning where New York added 3,000 [sic] deaths because they died. Rather than [a] heart attack, they say heart attack caused by this,” he said during the daily briefing of the Coronavirus Task Force, referring to COVID-19.

The additional victims raised the death toll to 10,000 in New York City, and more than 28,000 in total in the U.S. Trump suggested that the city was accounting for the 3,700 additional deaths “just in case” the victims had the coronavirus.

“If you look at it, that is it. Everything we have is documented and reported great. What they are doing is just in case — that is OK. We have more cases because we do more reporting.” (Read more from “Trump Claims NYC Inflating Its Coronavirus Death Toll” HERE)

U.S. Coronavirus Death Totals Compiled by CDC Will Now Include ‘Probable’ Cases

By CNN. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is now counting “probable” cases of coronavirus among its tabulations, according to the agency’s website.

The inclusion of such cases will add thousands to the total number of patients and deaths by including people who didn’t have a positive test but showed signs of having the virus.

It comes after the Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists suggested the CDC and state health departments add probable cases.

Previously, the CDC was only counting cases that had been confirmed by them or cases where the agency had yet to confirm a test done by a local or private entity. (Read more from “U.S. Coronavirus Death Totals Compiled by CDC Will Now Include ‘Probable’ Cases” HERE)

Democrats Introduce Legislation to Release Detainees and Stop ICE Enforcement

Democrats are introducing legislation that, if signed into law, would mandate the release of illegal aliens in detention and stop enforcement measures against a large number of aliens living unlawfully in the United States.

New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker and Washington Rep. Pramila Jayapal introduced the Federal Immigrant Release for Safety and Security Together (FIRST) Act on Monday. While many Democratic members of Congress have urged the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for a rollback of enforcement measures amid the coronavirus pandemic, this bill marks one of the first instances where they are turning such concerns into legislative action.

“Detention centers are like a ticking time bomb — they are severely at risk for a COVID-19 outbreak, considering the close quarters in which detainees are housed and a population with much higher rates of underlying health issues,” Booker said in a Monday press release.

He continued: “We have an obligation to do everything we can to prevent the spread of this deadly disease, and that means moving people out of detention centers when they do not pose a public safety risk.”

The FIRST Act would release most immigrants out of detention facilities and stop Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) from targeting at-large illegal aliens who are “not deemed a significant public safety risk” during the coronavirus health emergency. Democrat Lawyer Behind ‘Russia Dossier’ Pressures State to Allow ‘Ballot Harvesting’

A lawyer whose firm hired Fusion GPS to produce opposition research on Donald Trump leading to the phony “Russia dossier” has written to the State of Nevada pressuring it to bow to Democrat demands to allow “ballot harvesting.”

Mark Elias, a Perkins Coie lawyer who once represented Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, wrote on behalf of the Nevada Democratic Party to Nevada Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske on April 10 demanding that the state refrain from prosecuting violations of current state law, which only allows “a member of the voter’s family” to return an absentee ballot on their behalf. It is a felony for someone other than a family member to submit a ballot on someone else’s behalf.

Across the state line, in California, Democrats allow “ballot harvesting,” in which party operatives may collect and submit as many ballots as they want. (The practice is almost exclusive to Democrats; Republicans do not easily part with their ballots.) . . .

The practice is illegal in Nevada and most other states — as well as most other countries, where the practice is associated with fraud and corruption. Democrats, however, want to make “ballot harvesting” the law nationwide — and wanted to do so long before the coronavirus pandemic.

As Fox News noted Tuesday, Democrats now claim that “ballot harvesting” is necessary to overcome obstacles resulting from coronavirus — though they are also arguing for more in-person voting sites in Nevada, according to Elias’s letter. Hunter Biden Still Listed as Board Member of Chinese Company He Pledged to Resign From Months Ago

Hunter Biden received wall-to-wall media coverage and praise from his father, former Vice President Joe Biden, in October when he announced he would resign from the board of a Chinese private equity firm by the end of the month.

But six months after Hunter Biden pledged to relinquish his position with BHR Partners, no evidence has surfaced to prove he actually followed through on his promise.

Hunter Biden’s lawyer, George Mesires, told the Daily Caller News Foundation in early November that his client had resigned from BHR’s board, but he did not provide any evidence of his departure from the Chinese private equity firm at the time.

Chinese business records the DCNF accessed Tuesday still name Hunter Biden as a director of BHR. He also retains a 10% equity stake in BHR through his company, Skaneateles LLC, business records for the Chinese private equity firm show.

BHR manages the equivalent of $2.1 billion in assets, according to its website. Hunter Biden has served as an unpaid member of BHR’s board since its founding in 2013, and in October 2017 he obtained his equity stake in the firm with a $420,000 investment, according to Mesires. SERIOUS PUSHBACK: Thousands Protest Dem Governor’s Stay-Home Order While Maintaining Social Distancing (VIDEO); Protest Organizer Says Gov’s Orders Have Put State ‘Under Tyranny’

By WND. While maintaining social distancing, thousands of Michigan residents gathered at their state capitol to protest stay-at-home orders by Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer that are among the nation’s most restrictive.

The stringent orders include barring people from traveling from house and house, even to vacation homes; shutting down certain sections of big-box stores; and banning some types of boats but not others. . .

Among the messages on signs were “Liberty once lost is lost forever,” “Security without liberty is called prison” and “Recall Whitmer.”

Lt. Darren Green of the Michigan State Police told the paper the protesters were “doing a pretty good job of maintaining social distance.”

Michigan Protest Organizer Blasts Whitmer, Says Gov’s Orders Have Put State ‘Under Tyranny’

By Fox News. he organizer of Wednesday’s massive protest against Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s coronavirus-induced restrictions told “Your World” Wednesday that the governor’s executive orders have been unduly onerous and tyrannical.

Operation Gridlock organizer Meshawn Maddock of the Michigan Conservative Coalition told host Neil Cavuto that about 10,000 vehicles converged on Lansing.

“Almost all of the people got into their cars with the people that they have been sheltering with, packed a snack, drove to Lansing to show their protest,” she said. “The most fun that they had was in the last 48 hours making signs.

“I have to admit, it felt a little fun for a few minutes, because it has been so depressing,” Maddock added. “Michigan has been just under tyranny. We had to lay off seven employees of our own.

“When you look into these cars … you see a bookstore. You see a coffee shop owner, a small insurance agency owner, a paint store owner, landscapers, bricklayers, I could go on and on,” Maddock continued. “These are real people with real families and bills to pay. They have mortgages to pay.” (Read more from “Michigan Protest Organizer Blasts Whitmer, Says Gov’s Orders Have Put State ‘Under Tyranny'” HERE)

U.S. Judge Allows Police to Arrest Anyone Suspected of COVID-19; Man Released From Jail Because of Virus Arrested for Murder

By WND. A Michigan judge has issued an order authorizing a county health officer and police to arrest and jail anyone they suspect of being sick with the coronavirus.

The order includes a blank line for the names of anyone arrested to be filled out later, said the Great Lakes Justice Center, which called the order unconstitutional.

Judge Mark Trusock of the 17th Circuit Court issued the order in response to a request by Kent County Health Officer Adam London.

The judge ruled that any “carrier and health threat” presented with a copy of his order “may be involuntarily detained by a peace officer, transported to and detained in an Involuntary Isolation Facility selected by the Health Officer for observation, testing, and/or treatment.” (Read more from “U.S. Judge Allows Police to Arrest Anyone Suspected of COVID-19” HERE)

War Erupts When Trump Suspends WHO Funding Over Coronavirus Response (VIDEO); WHO Responds to President Trump’s Decision

By Fox News. President Trump’s decision to suspend funding to the World Health Organization amid the coronavirus crisis touched off an international war of words overnight as Democratic lawmakers in Washington as well as international bodies like the European Union condemned the move.

The president announced Tuesday that the United States would immediately halt funding for the health organization, saying it had put “political correctness over lifesaving measures,” noting that the U.S. would undertake a 60-to-90 day investigation into why the “China-centric” WHO had caused “so much death” by “severely mismanaging and covering up” the coronavirus spread.

Republicans on Capitol Hill, many of whom have been sharply critical of the World Health Organization and calling for weeks to get tough on the organization for allegedly helping China suppress information about the outbreak in the early stages, cheered the president’s decision. . .

But the partisan divide quickly opened. Following the announcement, House Oversight Committee Chairwoman Carolyn Maloney, D-N.Y., and House Subcommittee on National Security Chairman Steven Lynch, D-Mass., penned a letter to the president slamming his decision to withhold funding to the organization amid the global pandemic.

“While we may agree that the WHO has shortcomings that must be corrected, your attack on the global health organization can easily be seen as a deliberate but transparent effort to deflect responsibility for your own failures onto others,” Maloney and Lynch wrote, adding that Trump’s “attempt to blame the WHO for trusting China reflects an astonishing level of hypocrisy given your own fawning and widely publicized praise of President Xi Jinping and his government for their handling of this crisis.” (Read more from “War Erupts When Trump Suspends Who Funding” HERE)

WHO ‘Regrets’ Trump’s Decision to Withhold Funding, Says Focus Is on Saving Lives in Coronavirus Pandemic

By CNBC. The World Health Organization is turning to other countries to help fill any gaps in financing its Covid-19 response work after U.S. President Donald Trump said the United States would withhold contributions.

“The United States of America has been a long-standing and generous friend to the WHO and we hope it will continue to be so,” WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said at a press conference on Wednesday. “We regret the decision of the President of the United States to order a hold in funding to the World Health Organization.”

Trump announced Tuesday that the U.S. will suspend funding to WHO while it reviews the agency’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic. He said the administration will conduct a “thorough” investigation that should last 60 to 90 days.

Trump criticized the international agency’s response to the outbreak at a White House press conference, saying “one of the most dangerous and costly decisions from the WHO was its disastrous decision to oppose travel restrictions from China and other nations” that Trump imposed early on in the outbreak. The World Requires Voter ID, but George Soros and Hillary Clinton Are Determined the U.S. Won’t; State Lawmakers Override Veto of Voter ID Measure; Tucker Carlson: ‘Democrats Encourage Voter Fraud Because It Helps Them Win Elections’

By National Review. It’s been over seven years since the Supreme Court, in a 6–3 decision that was written by liberal favorite John Paul Stevens, declared that voter-ID laws don’t constitute an undue burden on people attempting to vote. But that hasn’t stopped liberals from fighting in legislatures and courts against those laws and other efforts to promote voter integrity. The lawsuits are often brought by Marc Elias, who doubles as the attorney for Hillary Clinton’s campaign. And their efforts have paid off: Only about 18 states currently require a photo ID to vote.

Last month, the New York Times reported that billionaire liberal George Soros was largely bankrolling the multi-million-dollar effort. Democratic-party chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz has accused Republicans of trying to bring back Jim Crow because “photo I.D. laws, we think, are very similar to a poll tax.”

Election observers in other countries find this kind of rhetoric preposterous. Almost all industrialized democracies — and most that are not — require voters to prove their identity before voting. . .

The vast majority of countries require voter ID — usually photo ID — to prevent fraud and duplicate votes at the polls. Our neighbors do. Canada requires voter ID. Mexico’s “Credencial para Votar” has a hologram, a photo, and other information embedded in it, and it is impossible to effectively tamper with. Confidence in the integrity of elections has soared since its introduction in the 1990s. State Lawmakers Override Veto of Voter ID Measure

By AP. Republican lawmakers in Kentucky swept aside the Democratic governor’s veto of a bill to require the state’s residents to show a government-issued photo ID in order to vote.

Votes to override Gov. Andy Beshear’s veto easily cleared the GOP-led Senate and House as lawmakers reconvened Tuesday for a wrap-up session amid the coronavirus outbreak.

The American Civil Liberties Union of Kentucky promptly said it will consider filing legal action to try to halt the measure. (Read more from “State Lawmakers Override Veto of Voter ID Measure” HERE)

Tucker Carlson: ‘Democrats Encourage Voter Fraud Because It Helps Them Win Elections’

By Daily Caller. Fox News host Tucker Carlson argued that Democrats “encourage” making voter fraud easier “because it helps them win elections.”

Carlson began the Tuesday night “Tucker Carlson Tonight” monologue by pointing out that those, including Democratic Gov. Ralph Northam, who consider the current crisis an “opportunity.” After listing several bills Northam signed over Easter weekend and calling them an “entire rundown from an MSNBC weekend show all signed into law,” the Fox News host pointed out one “that ought to worry you, even if you’re lucky enough not to live in Virginia.” . . .

“Government IDs aren’t racist,” Carlson insisted, pushing back against the claim. “They’re mandatory. You can’t live here without one … Pretty much every person in America has a government ID. And in fact, in February 2019 a paper coauthored by professors at Harvard and the University of Bologna found that voter ID laws had no effect whatsoever on voter turnout for any subgroup they measured — whether it was by age, or gender, or party or yes, by race. This is a complete and utter crock.”

“So why are they continuing to say it?” he continued. “Because voter ID laws stop voter fraud. Democrats encourage voter fraud because it helps them win elections.” (Read more from “Tucker Carlson: ‘Democrats Encourage Voter Fraud Because It Helps Them Win Elections’” HERE)

Leaked Emails Show Fauci Was Called Hillary’s ‘Doctor Admirer,’ Wanted Hillary to Know ‘We All Love Her’; Speculation Grows About Fauci’s Future

By The Western Journal. . .Emails obtained by hackers and released by Wikileaks years ago are still guiding part of the national conversation in 2020, and they demonstrate Fauci had a great admiration for former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

In an email sent to Clinton aide Cheryl Mills on Jan. 23, 2013 — the date Clinton testified before Congress about her knowledge of the 2012 Benghazi consulate attack — Fauci showed his support for the embattled Democrat, who was also facing questions about her health at the time.

“Anyone who had any doubts about the Secretary’s stamina and capability following her illness had those doubts washed away by today’s performance before the Senate and the House,” Fauci wrote to Mills. . .

In forwarding the email to Clinton, Mills wrote that the message was “From your doctor admirer.” (Read more from “Leaked Emails Show Fauci Was Called Hillary’s ‘Doctor Admirer,’ Wanted Hillary to Know ‘We All Love Her'” HERE)

The Memo: Speculation Grows About Fauci’s Future

By The Hill. Anthony Fauci looks to be skating on thin ice with President Trump, despite — or perhaps because of — a growing sense that he is the most trusted expert on the coronavirus crisis.

The White House moved on Monday to squash suggestions that Fauci could be ousted from the president’s task force on the crisis.

And Fauci himself sought to shore up his position during the White House press briefing, when he walked back remarks he had made at the weekend.

During a CNN interview on Sunday, Fauci had suggested that mitigation measures would have been more effective had they been put in place earlier but that there had been “pushback” against them.

After Trump invited Fauci to the lectern within minutes of beginning Monday’s press briefing, the doctor said that his reference to “pushback” was “the wrong choice of words.” (Read more from “The Memo: Speculation Grows About Fauci’s Future” HERE)

Taiwan Releases December Email to WHO Showing Unheeded Warning About Coronavirus; Trump Calls for Halt to U.S. Funding for World Health Organization

By Fox News. The World Health Organization is under fire after Taiwan released the contents of a December email inquiring about the person-to-person spread of COVID-19, which it says was ignored by the organization and further denied to provide adequate information about how to fight the virus.

Taiwan is accusing WHO of downplaying the severity and spread of the coronavirus in an attempt to pander to China, even after Taiwan sounded the alarm about at least seven cases of atypical pneumonia that they were aware of in Wuhan, where the virus originated.

When asked about the cases by the media, Taiwan said China’s health authorities said, “The cases were believed not SARS; however samples are still under examination, and cases have been isolated for treatment,” according to the contents of an email sent by Taiwan’s Center for Disease Control and Prevention to WHO on Dec. 31.

“I would greatly appreciate it if you have relevant information to share with us,” the email said.

Trump Calls for Halt to U.S. Funding for World Health Organization Amid Coronavirus Outbreak

By CNBC. The U.S. will suspend funding to the World Health Organization while it reviews the agency’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic, President Donald Trump announced Tuesday, saying the international health agency made mistakes that “caused so much death” as the coronavirus spread across the globe.

“Today I’m instructing my administration to halt funding of the World Health Organization while a review is conducted to assess the World Health Organization’s role in severely mismanaging and covering up the spread of the coronavirus,” Trump said at a White House press conference.

Trump criticized the international agency’s response to the outbreak, saying “one of the most dangerous and costly decisions from the WHO was its disastrous decision to oppose travel restrictions from China and other nations” that Trump imposed early on in the outbreak.

“Fortunately, I was not convinced and suspended travel from China saving untold numbers of lives,” he said. (Read more from “Trump Calls for Halt to U.S. Funding for World Health Organization Amid Coronavirus Outbreak” HERE)
