Nancy Pelosi: Joe Biden Should Skip the Next Debate (VIDEO)

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi weighed in on the presidential debates, following Tuesday’s chaotic contest between President Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden, moderated by Fox News’ Chris Wallace. Speaker Pelosi said that Biden should not partake in other debates, and that Tuesday’s debate should be “one and done.”

“I myself did not think that Joe Biden should dignify debate with the president who has no commitment to fact, evidence, data, demeans the office he holds,” Speaker Pelosi said on Thursday

She previously questioned the purpose of presidential debates between President Trump and former Vice President Biden, claiming that President Trump would not tell the truth.

The New York Times Is Wrong — Trump Paid Millions in Taxes in 2017

The New York Times’ claim that President Donald Trump paid just $750 in federal income taxes in 2016 and 2017 is wrong, based on a flawed understanding of how taxes are paid.

The figures below, drawn from the New York Times’s own analysis of Trump’s tax-return data for 2017, show that Trump paid $7,435,857 in taxes in 2017.

The Times says the tax return data show that Trump’s earnings were negative for the year, so he owned nothing in regular income taxes. But he was subject to the Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT), a parallel tax system aimed at making sure wealthy people cannot use deductions to eliminate their tax liability altogether. According to the Times, “the A.M.T. formula disallowed $45 million in losses that Mr. Trump had carried over from prior years.”

As a result, Trump was left with an AMT bill of $7,435,857, according to the Times.

There was no way for Trump to avoid this tax liability. He had to pay it down using his assets. And he did. (Read more from “The New York Times Is Wrong — Trump Paid Millions in Taxes in 2017” HERE)

Students Destroy Memorial for Unborn Babies, Threaten Conservative Pro-Life Leader (VIDEO)

Students vandalized a display intended to memorialize aborted babies on the campus of the University of North Texas (UNT) on Wednesday and also sent threatening texts to the leader of the conservative student group that put it up.

Members of the UNT chapter of Young Conservatives of Texas (YCT), a group that has existed in some form since 1980, received permission to place 1,000 small pink flags around the Denton, Texas, campus to commemorate unborn lives lost since Roe v. Wade, according to The Spectator USA. Each flag represented approximately 60,000 babies.

The chapter’s president, Kelly Neidert, told The Spectator that the flags were accompanied with various signs that said “abortion is murder,” “unborn lives matter,” and “overturn Roe v. Wade,” in part a reference to the looming battle to confirm Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court.

According to social media posts obtained by The Spectator, liberal students took aim at the memorial before it was even in place, mocking it and making a “capture the flag” game out of ripping down the exhibit erected by those whom they deemed “sexist, transphobic, all around horrid.” According to video captured by YCT, several students plucked the signs and removed the flags, including one girl carrying a soda. . .

Other screenshots obtained by The Spectator showed that Twitter users sent abusive and threatening messages to YCT and even Neidert herself, including one that told her to kill herself and another that said in part, “Personally, my code of conduct dictates that hexes should be cast unless the most heinous crimes are committed (rape, murder, etc). But who I am to tell other witches how to practice their craft?”

Biden’s Debate Comment About ‘Allah Willing’ May Not Have Been as Innocent as Some Claim

During the first presidential debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden, while the president was saying that he would release his tax returns once an ongoing IRS audit ends, Biden interrupted him by saying, “When—insha’allah?” . . .

For starters, why, in a purely American setting, would Biden suddenly resort to Arabic? It would have been one thing if he used this formulation before a Muslim audience—it would then be chalked up to diplomacy, pandering, etc.—but why use it when around Americans and during a distinctly American event such as a U.S. presidential debate?

Secondly, while insha’allah does literally mean “Allah willing,” and is regularly used to express modesty before the Supreme Being whenever Arabic speakers are discussing future events—as in, “Next year I plan on visiting the Arctic, insha’allah”—what very few non-native speakers of Arabic appreciate is that it is also used with great frequency by those who utter it to signal that they really have no intention of doing what they say they plan on doing, and by their listeners to express doubt or cynicism. . .

This interpretation may shed some light on a controversial thing Biden said in a video directed at Muslims in late July: “Hadith from the Prophet Muhammad instructs, ‘Whomever among you sees a wrong, let him change it with his hand. If he is not able, then with his tongue. If he is not able, then with his heart.’”

Amongst Muslims, this hadith, which is sahih, meaning deemed authentic/canonical by Sunni Muslims, concerns the enforcement of sharia, Islamic law (particularly in the context of the doctrine of al-amr bi’l ma’ruf w’al nahi ‘an al-munkir, “enjoining the right and forbidding the wrong”). Muslims are taught to enforce sharia (understood as the totality of all good things) any which way they can: ideally through their “hand” (physical force, or jihad); if that’s not possible, then through their “tongue” (words, ideas, propaganda); and if that too is not possible, then at least with their “heart” (their intention, niya). Here’s What Would Happen If Trump and Biden Tie in November

While unlikely, some election forecasters have raised the possibility that both President Donald Trump and Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden could tie in November, with each having 269 electoral votes instead of one reaching the 270 necessary to win the election. . .

If by some chance Trump and Biden find themselves one electoral vote shy of victory, here’s what would happen.

If neither Biden nor Trump wins 270 electoral votes, the House of Representatives will decide the winner, according to Article II Section 1 of the U.S. Constitution. Though Democrats have the majority in the lower chamber, individual members do not vote to break a tie in a presidential election. Instead, each state delegation gets one vote to be decided upon by its members. A simple majority of House delegations decides the winner, as outlined in Article II.

Technically, House delegations can cast a vote for any candidate that finished in the top three, since no candidate will have received a majority of electoral votes, per Article II.

Though the House decides the president, the Senate would vote to select the vice president, Article II says, creating the possibility that the president and vice president could be of different parties. (Read more from “Here’s What Would Happen If Trump and Biden Tie in November” HERE)

WATCH: BLM and Proud Boys Leaders Hold Joint Press Conference

The leader of a northern Utah Black Lives Matter chapter held a press conference with local Proud Boys leaders in Salt Lake City on Wednesday, defending the group which has been labeled by critics as white supremacists.

But the leaders from both activist organizations — who have been meeting together to find common ground — called on Americans to come together in unity after months of unrest and divisiveness in the country. . .

In video taken by KUTV-TV, Jacarri Kelley, the leader of Black Lives Matter, Northern Utah, told the press that she called the conference because she wanted to set the record straight after the Proud Boys were mentioned during the first presidential debate and accused of being “white supremacists.” . . .

The BLM leader explained that she has been meeting with Seth and Thad for the past several weeks to learn more about their views, after she spoke with a few Proud Boys members during a protest who reassured her that they were just there “to make sure nothing goes down.”

“We sat down and had a conversation about each others’ myths that we heard about the Black Lives Matter movement and about the Proud Boys,” Kelley said about her first meeting with the leaders. “And we came to realize we had more in common than not. And in order to combat evil and racism and hatred in this country, we do need to be able to reach across the aisle and have these tough conversations.”

Still No Deal on New Round of Coronavirus Aid

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and Speaker Nancy Pelosi concluded several hours of talks Wednesday afternoon without a new deal on a coronavirus aid package, but the two sides said they will continue to negotiate.

“We’re going to go back and do a little more work again,” Mnuchin told reporters Wednesday as he left the Capitol. “I think we’ve made a lot of progress in a lot of areas.”

The package would include new aid for small businesses and another round of stimulus checks, as well as money for schools and healthcare, among other provisions. It has been stalled for weeks because the two parties cannot agree on the cost or scope of the bill.

House Democrats plan to leave town this week to campaign ahead of the Nov. 3 election but would return to vote on a deal if one is reached, Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, a Maryland Democrat, said Wednesday.

Without an imminent deal, Democrats plan to vote tonight on a pared-down aid package they released earlier this week that is meant as a compromise offer to Republicans. The measure costs $2.2 trillion, which is a reduction from a $3 trillion aid package House Democrats passed in May. (Read more from “Still No Deal on New Round of Coronavirus Aid” HERE)

In Deranged Press Conference Ambush, Reporters Refuse to Acknowledge Trump’s Repeated Condemnation of Racism (VIDEO)

Reporters asked White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany the same question repeatedly Thursday, demanding that she make a statement explicitly condemning white supremacy on behalf of White House, despite her answer that President Donald Trump had already denounced it multiple times.

“I’d like to ask you for a definitive and declarative statement, without ambiguity or deflection. As the person who speaks for the president, does the president denounce white supremacism, a group that is founded in all their forms?” asked Fox News’ John Roberts.

“This has been answered yesterday by the president himself. The day before by the president himself on the debate stage. The president was asked this and he said ‘sure’ three times. Yesterday, he was point-blank asked ‘Do you denounce white supremacy’ and he said ‘I’ve always denounced any form of that,’” McEnany said, before listing off examples of Trump’s comments denouncing racism, neo-nazis, white supremacy, and the KKK.

“He has condemned white supremacy more than any president in modern history,” she added.

The accusations from the press at the White House briefing come after the presidential debate moderator Chris Wallace asked if Trump would “condemn white supremacists and militia groups…” While the president responded “sure” and called for a right-wing group to “stand back and stand by,” the media twisted his words and misconstrued them to fit their narrative creating headlines like “Trump refuses to denounce white supremacy, says ‘stand back and stand by’ on Proud Boys movement.” (Read more from “In Deranged Press Conference Ambush, Reporters Refuse to Acknowledge Trump’s Repeated Condemnation of Racism” HERE)

Hundreds of Wrong Absentee Ballot Envelopes Discovered in New York

A printing error is being blamed for hundreds of mislabeled ballot envelopes on Long Island.

Voters in Nassau County are being asked to double check their absentee ballots after the error was discovered, where 781 ballots were mailed to voters with the incorrect oath envelope inside.

Brooklyn also saw a similar error that affected more than 100,000 people. Nassau’s Board of Elections officials say the same outside vendor was used as the New York City borough. . .

Phoenix Graphics Incorporated President Sal DeBiase said in a statement that the company “experienced mechanical-inserting issues when producing the 2020 general election absentee ballots for Kings County and Nassau County. We estimate this has affected less than 1% of the mailings.” . . .

President Donald Trump has already responded to the New York errors, saying, “100,000 defective ballots in New York. They want to replace them, but where, and what happens to the ballots that were first sent? They will be used by somebody. USA… end this scam – go out and vote!” (Read more from “Hundreds of Wrong Absentee Ballot Envelopes Discovered in New York” HERE)
