Ammon Bundy Arrested after Refusing to Wear Mask in Court

. . .Ammon Bundy was arrested in Idaho on Monday after he refused to wear a mask in court, thus preventing him from entering and making him a no-show for his own trial, officials said.

Ammon Bundy was due in a Boise courtroom at 8:15 a.m. for the beginning of his trial on misdemeanor trespassing and resisting arrest charges stemming from an August incident at the Idaho Statehouse.

For nearly a year now, the Idaho Supreme Court has required masks for entry into any courthouses in the state.

“Mr. Bundy today refused to wear a mask to come into the courthouse and thus was not granted admission,” Steven Hippler, administrative judge for the Fourth Judicial District, told NBC News.

Major Nations Suspend COVID-19 Vaccine

Amid reports of dangerous blood clots in some recipients, Germany, France, Italy and Spain became the latest nations to suspend use of AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine. . .

AstraZeneca argues there have been 37 reports of blood clots out of more than 17 million people vaccinated in the European Union and Britain.

However, 54,571 adverse events have been reported in Europe in association with the AstraZeneca vaccine, including at least 198 deaths.

Nearly double that number, 102,100, are associated with the Pfizer mRNA vaccine, including at least 957 deaths, notes Alex Berenson, a former New York Times reporter who has devoted the past year to studying and reporting on the pandemic.

Archaeologists Announce Discovery of More Dead Sea Scrolls

Israeli archaeologists on Tuesday announced the discovery of dozens of Dead Sea Scroll fragments bearing a biblical text found in a desert cave and believed hidden during a Jewish revolt against Rome nearly 1,900 years ago.

The fragments of parchment bear lines of Greek text from the books of Zechariah and Nahum and have been dated around the first century based on the writing style, according to the Israel Antiquities Authority. They are the first new scrolls found in archaeological excavations in the desert south of Jerusalem in 60 years.

The Dead Sea Scrolls, a collection of Jewish texts found in desert caves in the West Bank near Qumran in the 1940s and 1950s, date from the third century B.C. to the first century A.D. They include the earliest known copies of biblical texts and documents outlining the beliefs of a little understood Jewish sect. Biden Administration Misses Its Own Deadline for Mask Standards

The Biden administration missed its self-imposed deadline to issue temporary mask standards for workplaces as the Occupational Safety and Health Administration tries to determine whether an emergency order is needed to protect workers from the coronavirus, according to a report.

President Biden in an executive order on Jan. 21 directed the government “consider whether any emergency temporary standards on COVID-19, including with respect to masks in the workplace, are necessary, and if such standards are determined to be necessary, issue them by March 15, 2021.”

But no standard was issued Monday, Fox News reported.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki acknowledged that the administration has blown the deadline, but she said OSHA has yet to make a determination as she responded to a question about whether the regulation would harm businesses already struggling to survive. A Parent Who Criticized Critical Race Theory in Schools Has Been Placed on a Hit List for Harassment

Former Justice Department official, consultant and concerned parent Ian Prior recently wrote a lengthy op-ed in The Federalist criticizing critical race theory [CRT] being promoted or taught in Virginia’s taxpayer funded schools. . .

Now his leftist neighbors, who have advocated for illegal behavior like hacking and destroying websites opposed to CRT, are putting him on a list.

A woman named Jen Morse recently posted to the “Anti-Racist Parents of Loudoun County” Facebook page, which is kept private, and urged 636 members to do the following:

-Infiltrate (create fake olive profiles and join these groups to collect and communicate information, hackers who can either shut down their websites or redirect them to pro-CRT/anti-racist informational webpages)

-Spread information (exposes these people publicly, create online petitions, create counter mailings)

ACLU Presses Supreme Court To End Men-Only Draft

The American Civil Liberties Union is asking the Supreme Court to declare the Military Selective Service Act unconstitutional on the basis of sex, opening the door for Congress to include women in the draft or abolish selective service outright.

The ACLU claims that a men-only draft amounts to unlawful sex discrimination. The MSSA requires all men between the ages of 18 and 25 to register with the Selective Service System in case a national conscription is reinstated.

The Biden Justice Department will now decide whether to defend the sex-based draft before the High Court. The Justice Department almost always defends federal laws in court, unless no reasonable argument can be made in their favor.

The Trump administration defended the statute in lower courts. It’s unclear if the Biden administration will do so. President Joe Biden recently applauded the idea of a more gender-inclusive military, noting that the army now produces flight suits for pregnant women. A group of more than 50 rioters dressed in black attacked the Mark Hatfield Federal Courthouse in Portland on Thursday, vandalizing the building, smashing windows, and lighting parts of it on fire while people were still inside.

. . .Antifa previously attempted to menace people inside the federal courthouse on Thursday afternoon, yelling “come outside,” “you don’t scare me b-tch,” “death to America,” and “f-ck the United States” while throwing water and other liquids inside the glass doors, repeatedly banging on them, and trying to enter. The attack reportedly prompted federal officials to reinstate some of the recently-removed barriers in front of the federal building including boards on the windows.

U.S. Clinic Gave Out Empty COVID Shots

A Virginia vaccine clinic mistakenly gave out what they believed were COVID-19 shots to patients — but were actually empty syringes.

The mishap occurred when a worker incorrectly assumed that another colleague had filled the syringes before the appointments Monday at a Kroger clinic in Midlothian, news station WRIC reported.

“Less than 10” people got an empty shot instead of the vaccine, a Kroger spokesperson told the outlet.

The grocery store chain, which has administered more than 830,00 shots across the country, apologized for the mistake.

Alaska Republican Party Censures Sen. Lisa Murkowski, Pledges Primary Challenge

By Breitbart. The Alaska Republican Party on Saturday voted to censure Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) at its quarterly meeting and pledged to support a primary challenger against the incumbent lawmaker.

In January, Murkowski joined six other Republican senators in voting to convict Trump in his second impeachment trial in which the former president was acquitted of inciting the deadly January 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.

“There’s a number of issues that the party has had with Sen. Murkowski for the last several years which really culminated in the conviction vote of former President Trump,” said Kris Warren, head of the Anchorage Republican Party group. “She’s repeatedly spoken out against President Trump over the years in spite of all the great accomplishments he had that helped the country and certainly helped Alaska.”

Alaska GOP Censures Murkowski

By The Hill. . .Warren said he was upset with Murkowski over past votes to preserve the Affordable Care Act and against an amendment to the most recent coronavirus relief package that would have banned trans women from competing in sports. He took issue with her decision to vote present on the nomination of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, and her support for Rep. Deb Haaland (D-N.M.), President Biden’s choice to lead the Interior Department.

But the resolution focused most on Murkowski’s relationship with the former president.

“She’s repeatedly spoken out against President Trump over the years in spite of all the great accomplishments he had that helped the country and certainly helped Alaska,” Warren said.

Murkowski’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment. She has not said whether she will seek a fourth full term, though her campaign account had $1 million in the bank at the end of 2020.

Warren declined to speculate on potential challengers who might take on the three-term Republican, who took office in 2002 to succeed her father after he became governor. Former Gov. Sarah Palin (R) has issued vague threats about running herself, though she is not seen as a likely candidate a dozen years after she left the governor’s mansion in the middle of her first term.
