A top State Department nominee is a defender of the Confucius Institute, a Chinese government program that disseminates pro-Beijing propaganda on American college campuses.

Victoria Nuland, President Biden’s choice for undersecretary of state for political affairs, voiced support for the expansion of the Chinese government-funded Confucius Institute at American universities in a 2012 press conference. Nuland, then an Obama administration spokeswoman, praised the campus institutes as a crucial part of “people-to-people exchange” between the two superpowers, dismissing concerns about Chinese ambition.

A reporter asked Nuland if the Obama administration was concerned about “the Confucius Institute’s expansion in the U.S. as the strongest Chinese soft power?”

“No,” Nuland responded. “This [Confucius Institute] is something that we support. It’s part of the people-to-people understanding.”

The Confucius Institute quickly expanded its influence during the Obama era, establishing itself at more than 100 American universities and colleges during its peak in 2017, despite warnings about the Chinese Communist Party’s influence. Several government reports found the Chinese government exercised high degrees of control over campus institutes, barring their instructors from teaching taboo topics such as Tibet or Hong Kong. Frequently, instructors were contractually obligated to follow Chinese law even when teaching on American soil. Why Won’t the Biden Administration Allow Media to Tour the ‘Migrant Children’ Facility?

Members of the media will not be able to visit migrant detention centers holding minors near the southern border due to COVID-19, a spokesperson told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Reporters will not be allowed inside the Carrizo Springs facility for unaccompanied minors that was recently opened under the Biden administration in Texas, a Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families (ACF) spokesperson told the DCNF.

“The Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) is not hosting media tours of unaccompanied children (UC) facilities currently due to the COVID-19 pandemic,” an ACF spokesperson told the DCNF. “If media tours resume, we will send a media advisory,” the spokesperson added.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said he would look into why an ABC News reporter was told they would not be allowed to tour migrant facilities in Texas due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic during a White House briefing Monday. Churchill’s Grandson Joins Historian to Shred Leftist Academics’ ‘Character Assassination’ of War Leader

Sir Winston Churchill’s grandson, Sir Nicholas Soames, has joined a prominent historian for a comprehensive fisking of the case against the wartime leader advanced by left-wing academics at a Churchill College seminar.

Priyamvada Gopal, Onyeka Nubia, Kehinde Andrews, and Madhusree Mukerjee had slated the British icon at the college bearing his name in a seminar titled The Racial Consequences of Mr Churchill, in which he was described as “the perfect embodiment of white supremacy” and the empire he led to victory over Hitler’s Germany branded “far worse than the Nazis.”

These and other charges have now been rebutted in a Policy Exchange paper written by historian Andrew Roberts, author of Churchill: Walking with Destiny, and Zewditu Gebreyohanes, a former intern of the late conservative philosopher Sir Roger Scruton, with a foreword by Sir Nicholas Soames.

Sir Nicholas, who was like his grandfather a Conservative parliamentarian until the last election, described The Racial Consequences of Mr Churchill as “a new low in the current vogue for the denigration in general of British history and of Sir Winston Churchill’s memory in particular”, something he noted is “now sadly quite common” — but not something he would have expected to see from Churchill College.

“This College, the first one at Cambridge University to be named after a person living at the time of its founding, is the National and Commonwealth Memorial to Sir Winston Churchill and was to be the embodiment of his vision of how higher education can benefit society in the modern age,” Sir Nicholas recalled. Rooster Stabs Man to Death During Cockfight Training

A man was killed by a rooster with a blade tied to its leg during an illegal cockfight in southern India, police said, bringing focus on a practice that continues in some Indian states despite a decades-old ban.

The rooster, with a 3-inch knife tied to its leg, fluttered in panic and slashed its owner, 45-year-old Thangulla Satish, in his groin last week, police inspector B. Jeevan said Sunday. . .

According to Jeevan, Satish was injured while he prepared the rooster for a fight. “Satish was hit by the rooster’s knife in his groin and started bleeding heavily,” the officer said, adding that the man died on the way to a hospital. Report: Missing Former Clinton Staffer Voted From a Fake Address in Nevada in 2020 — and Someone Tried to Cover It Up (VIDEO)

Conservative comedian and BlazeTV host Steven Crowder claimed Monday that an unknown person or group attempted to engage in a cover-up by altering public records to hide the fact that a former Hillary Clinton staffer — who has allegedly been missing for two years — voted illegally in Nevada during the 2020 election.

Last week, while investigating addresses listed on voter rolls, Crowder’s team discovered that Christina Gupana, who is allegedly a Nevada-based attorney who worked for Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign, had voted from a highly suspicious address during the presidential election.

Listed on the state’s voter rolls alongside Gupana’s name was the address 353 West Bonneville Ave., which, as it turns out, is a freeway underpass, not an actual residence.

But, after Crowder aired a show detailing the dozens of allegedly fake voter addresses — Gupana’s included — fact-checkers searched public records and found that Gupana’s address listed on voter rolls was actually 353 East Bonneville Ave., which is an apartment complex.

So it was a simple mistake made by Crowder’s team, right? Not quite. During a subsequent review of their own investigative work, Crowder’s team reportedly discovered that they had not made a mistake. Rather, someone had altered the public records shortly after the show aired on Tuesday night, a suspicious action given the fact that Clark County typically updates data files on Mondays. DHS Secretary Invites All ‘Asylum Seekers’ to the U.S. (VIDEO)

DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas invited an unlimited number of “asylum seekers” to the United States Monday afternoon, but urged them to wait until the Biden administration implements a new way to process them first.

The vast majority of “asylum seekers” are illegal immigrants falsely claiming asylum. Because the Biden administration has lowered the bar for asylum, requiring migrants to utter a few correct words to apply, the system is being overwhelmed and abused. The Trump Administration cracked down on asylum abuse for this reason and implemented the “remain in Mexico policy,” something the Biden administration is currently working to repeal.

In 2019, then Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham explained how asylum abuse works.
