The Pentagon’s Vaccine Mandate Is Driving Yet Another Wedge Between Troops and Leadership

The Pentagon’s vaccine mandate for all military service members is creating a divide among troops and leadership, and some of the former group are choosing to leave the service entirely rather than be forced to get vaccinated.

A substantial number of the military’s most elite operators, including Navy SEALs and fighter pilots, are seeking an exemption from the vaccine mandate, and many of those individuals are planning a change of career if an exemption is not granted, the Daily Caller has learned. Active members of multiple branches of the armed services, who spoke to the Daily Caller on the condition of anonymity so they could speak freely, described being subjected to pressure campaigns and experiencing worsening morale as the Pentagon rolls out its mandate before the end of the year.

Davis Younts, an attorney representing dozens of troops who are seeking religious or medical accommodations for the vaccine mandate, said that most of his clients are not going to comply with the mandate even if they aren’t granted an exemption. “My clients, the guys I’m representing, and the SEALs I’ve spoken to, are what we’re calling ‘hard no’s’… that means you’re going to submit a religious accommodation request, you’re going to submit a medical exemption based on where you’re at… and then if it’s not approved, they’re not going to take the vaccine.”

The direct consequences for refusing a lawful order to get vaccinated are unclear as of now, and will likely vary from case to case. Republicans on Capitol Hill have wrestled with the Biden administration and Pentagon leadership on whether or not those who refuse the mandate can be dishonorably discharged, and the Army has said that “continued failure to comply could result in administrative or non-judicial punishment – to include relief of duties or discharge.”

Younts, whose dozens clients include a variety of servicemembers from multiple Navy fighter pilots to a growing list of SEALs, said that uncertainty exists even for those who do get an accommodation. NBA Team Bans Star Player From Participating in Any Capacity Until He’s Vaccinated (VIDEO)

Kyrie Irving won’t play for the Nets until he’s vaccinated.

Irving is one of the most notable vaccine holdouts in the NBA, and because of New York’s local mandates, he can’t participate in games until he gets his shots.

Well, he will no longer be allowed to compete at all until he meets NYC’s requirements.

General manager Sean Marks stated the following in part in a Tuesday release:

We have decided Kyrie Irving will not play or practice with the team until he is eligible to be a full participant. Kyrie has made a personal choice, and we respect his individual right to choose. Currently, the choice restricts his ability to be a full-member of the team, and we will not permit any member of our team to participate with part-time availability.

Judge Rules New York Must Allow Religious Exemptions to COVID Vaccine Mandate

A federal judge ruled on Tuesday that New York state cannot impose a COVID-19 vaccine mandate on healthcare workers without allowing their employers to consider religious exemption requests.

U.S. District Judge David Hurd in Albany, New York, ruled that the state’s workplace vaccination requirement conflicted with healthcare workers’ federally protected right to seek religious accommodations from their employers.

The ruling provides a test case as vaccine mandate opponents gear up to fight plans by President Joe Biden’s administration to extend COVID-19 inoculation requirements to tens of millions of unvaccinated Americans.

Vaccines have become highly politicized in the United States, where only 66% of Americans are vaccinated, well short of the initial goals of the Biden administration.

Seventeen healthcare workers opposed to the mandate sued, saying the requirement violated their rights under the U.S. Constitution and a federal civil rights law requiring employers to reasonably accommodate employees’ religious beliefs. New Sex Ed ‘Common Core’ Would Force Explicit Images, Gender Mayhem, and Abortion on Kids

Last year, three leftist nonprofits created the National Sex Education Standards, a blueprint for the “sex education” of K-12 children. In practice, the standards serve as an indoctrination camp in extremist sexual ethics designed to destroy children’s innocence and undermine their attachment to the traditional, Judeo-Christian understanding of sex and marriage. . .

The 2020 standards unequivocally endorse abortion at any time, teach the topic starting in sixth grade, and even force teachers to provide information on local abortion clinics to students in ninth grade. The standards also insist that children must be allowed to choose their own gender and false pronouns must “be respected by the adults in their lives.” . . .

The 2020 version is different from the 2011 version as explained in the standards:

The updated [Standards] have been written with a trauma-informed lens; have been infused with principles of reproductive justice, racial justice, social justice, and equity; address social determinants of health and how these can lead to inequitable health outcomes; and take an intersectional approach. This edition uses less cis and heteronormative language that reflects a broader range of relationships and identities.

The new standards have entire sections in their “Guiding Principles” section devoted to “Social, Racial, and Reproductive Justice and Equity,” “Intersectionality,” and “Language Inclusivity.” They boast that “the updated NSES (Standards) calls attention to overt and covert discrimination.” (Read more from “New Sex Ed ‘Common Core’ Would Force Explicit Images, Gender Mayhem, and Abortion on Kids” HERE)

DISGUSTING: Mom Reports School to Police for Promoting Gay Porn Book to Children

A concerned mom says she’s filed a police report against North Kingstown High School in North Kingstown, Rhode Island for promoting a book with gay pornography to minors in the school library.

The pornographic book was published by Lion Forge Comics and is titled “Gender Queer: A Memoir.” It was authored and illustrated by Maia Kobabe, who uses the made-up pronouns of e/em/eir and whose work focuses on “anti-fascism,” according to a description on Amazon.

Nicole Solas, a resident of South Kingstown and mom of a kindergartener, posted a picture of the book in a display case on Twitter and highlighted the pornographic images contained between the covers. Solas also posted an image of the typed-out report that she says she sent to police, writing that she is submitting “evidence of distribution of pornography at North Kingstown High School” and that the book was made “available to minor children.”

“Gender Queer” is also highlighted in the library of East Greenwich High School, another school in Rhode Island, prompting Solas to call for the prosecution of the school employees who are responsible for its distribution.

The book, which is currently ranked no. 11 in Amazon’s “LGBTQ+ Graphic Novels” section, features discussion of gay sexual fantasies and is incredibly graphic, including scenes of gay men having sex and a scene of one man performing oral sex on another. Hospital Refuses Anchorage Man’s Request for Ivermectin as He Fights To Stay Alive

William Topel, prominent in Anchorage’s conservative political circles, checked into Providence Alaska Medical Center last Thursday due to complications from COVID.

Highly engaged in Alaska politics, Topel regularly participates in Anchorage Assembly meetings, legislative hearings and political rallies. According to his Linkedin page, he earned a BA in Science/Technology from UAA and has been a substitute teacher in Anchorage since 2013. Alaska’s Division of Election lists him as an official elector for the Alaska Constitution Party in 2020.

On Oct. 7, Topel checked into Providence where both he and his physician asked hospital staff to administer Ivermectin and vitamin infusions to treat his illness. Providence initially refused, and Topel is now unconscious and in critical condition.

According to an email from the hospital’s media relations department, Providence does not use Ivermectin to treat COVID patients. The hospital says the FDA has not approved Ivermectin for treating or preventing COVID in humans.

“Based on a preponderance of evidence and guidelines from multiple national authorities, Providence Alaska Medical Center does not use Ivermectin to treat COVID-19,” the email state.

Providence’s stance runs contrary to multiple studies which show that Ivermectin is a safe drug that can decrease both morbidity and mortality in COVID patients. It has been successfully used to treat COVID patients around the world, including in India, Mexico, El Salvador and the Dominican Republic.

On Oct. 11, Anchorage Attorney Mario Bird sent a letter to Providence on behalf of Topel and his surrogate decision maker Jamie Allard, whom Topel granted power of attorney to make medical decisions. Allard is not acting in her capacity as an Anchorage Assemblywoman, but only as a private citizen.

Bird’s letter cites Alaska Statute 13.52.010, noting that Allard has legal authority to request Ivermectin treatment for Topel.

“Ms. Allard has also informed me that upon asserting her right to make medical decisions for Mr. Topel, she was told by hospital staff that she ‘doesn’t really have that right,’ and that Providence staff continues to refuse Ms. Allard or Mr. Topel’s friends and family to visit him in the hospital,” Bird wrote.

“This is literally life and death,” Allard said. “If I don’t try, then I didn’t do anything that Bill asked me to do.”

The letter reminds the hospital that it cannot legally act as surrogates or agents for patients.

“Per Alaska law, Ms. Allard has the authority to make health decisions for Mr. Topel, either as a surrogate or an agent. Providence does not,” Bird explained. “Should Providence continue to decline to honor Ms. Allard’s decision for Mr. Topel, it must follow the clear procedure laid out in AS 13.52.060 (g). Violation of this or any provision of Alaska’s Health Care Decisions Act (AS 13.52.010, et seq.) carries a statutory penalty of $10,000 or actual damages for each violation, whichever is greater.”

Bird then notes that medical providers “do not enjoy legal immunity when they decide to act as surrogate decision makers for their patients.” He cites a 2021 Alaska Supreme Court case, also involving Providence.

Allard told the Alaska Watchman that Topel’s request for Ivermectin is clear. Last week she called Topel to discuss his situation.

“I said, ‘William are you okay?’ He said, ‘No, they’re not listening to me. I want to get out. They won’t give me Ivermectin.’”

Topel than asked Allard to help him get transferred out of the hospital so he could receive his requested treatment elsewhere. At that point, William asked Allard to be his surrogate decision maker with official power of attorney if he became incapacitate and couldn’t speak for himself.

“Basically, the next day, I was making the decisions, and they were consistently ignoring Bill’s request to be moved out of Providence,” Allard said. “Right now, we are working on putting him in hospice, so that we can give him Ivermectin.”

They are also seeking a court order to force Providence to give Topel the treatments that both he and his physician have requested.

By late morning on Oct. 12, Allard said the hospital had finally agreed to give Topel vitamin infusions, but are still denying Ivermectin.

“This is literally life and death,” Allard said. “If I don’t try, then I didn’t do anything that Bill asked me to do.”

Allard said the hospital only permits one visitor for Topel, and they must remain outside a glass barrier.

“I can’t imagine someone with no resources trying to do this on their own,” Allard said. “They would just be bullied and blocked unless they got an attorney.” (For more from the author of “Hospital Refuses Anchorage Man’s Request for Ivermectin as He Fights To Stay Alive” HERE)

Report: Most Adults Shouldn’t Take Daily Aspirin To Prevent Heart Attack

Taking a daily low-dose aspirin has long been recommended for heart health, but an influential organization changed its guidance on Tuesday.

The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force, an independent panel of experts, released an updated draft recommendation that says most adults not take aspirin to prevent first heart attacks or strokes.

The previous guidance recommended daily low-dose aspirin for people over 50 who were at higher risk for heart attacks or strokes in the next decade and who weren’t at higher risk for bleeding.

The updated guidance recommends that adults in their 40s and 50s only take aspirin as a preventive measure if their doctors determine they are at higher risk for heart disease and that aspirin may lower the risk without significant risk of bleeding. (The previous guidance didn’t address anyone younger than 50.) People ages 60 or older are now advised not to start taking aspirin to prevent first heart attacks or strokes.

The draft recommendations don’t apply to people who have already had heart attacks or strokes; the task force still recommends that they take aspirin preventively. (Read more from “Report: Most Adults Shouldn’t Take Daily Aspirin To Prevent Heart Attack” HERE)

Revealed: U.S. Attorney General’s Son-in-Law Cofounder of Company Promoting Critical Race Theory; FBI Investigating Parents Who Protest School COVID-19 Policies

By Breitbart. U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland’s son-in-law is a co-founder of an educational data mining company that promotes the tenets of Critical Race Theory (CRT), a report at Becker News observed Wednesday.

The report noting Garland’s family ties to CRT comes in the wake of the attorney general’s memorandum directing the FBI to mobilize against parents who oppose CRT and mask mandates in K-12 schools and speak out about their concerns.

As the New York Times reported, in 2018, Garland’s daughter, Rebecca, married Alexander “Xan” Tanner, co-founder and president of Panorama Education, a Boston-based software and analytical data services company that boasts its founders were once “student activists.”

The Times wedding announcement states:

The bride’s father, Judge Merrick B. Garland, took part in the ceremony, giving a tribute to the couple … The bride’s father is the chief judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, in Washington. Her mother advises government and nonprofit groups on voting systems security and accuracy issues.

FBI Investigating Parents Who Protest School COVID-19 Policies

By WMUR G. A reported rise in threats and assaults at school board meetings across the country is catching the attention of federal law enforcement officials.

U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland has directed the FBI to investigate the cases, some of which have been reported in New Hampshire. School officials in Nashua said they have experienced disruptions during meetings for months.

Tuesday’s Nashua school board meeting was over before it could begin. Board president Heather Raymond pulled the plug after a group of people became disruptive when they were asked to wear masks, which are required by the district. . .

Garland is directing the FBI to investigate harassment, intimidation and threats of violence against school board members and other personnel. . .

The U.S. Department of Justice is looking into the possibility of federal prosecutions and said it will also put together specialized training for school districts and administrators to help them deal with such situations. Here’s Who the WH Is Blaming for Biden’s Garbage Approval Ratings; Report: Hundreds of Thousands of U.S. Troops Aren’t Vaccinated as Government Deadline Approaches

By The Blaze. The White House is blaming President Joe Biden’s dismal approval ratings on Americans not vaccinated against COVID-19. . .

During a press briefing at the White House on Friday, press secretary Jen Psaki was confronted over Biden’s “really terrible” approval ratings.

Agence France-Presse reporter Sebastian Smith asked, “What do you make of these really terrible polls? Are they that he’s doing something wrong? Is it just the communication? Or is it he’s doing unpopular things that have to be done?” . . .

“Well, look, I would say that this is a really tough time in our country. We’re still battling COVID, and a lot of people thought we’d be through it, including us,” Psaki began.

“And we — because of the rise of the delta variant, because of the fact that even though it was a vaccine that was approved under a Republican administration, even though we now have full FDA approval, and even though it’s widely available across the country, we still have a quarter of the country who have, less than that, 20% of the country who’ve decided not to get vaccinated,” Psaki continued.

Report: Hundreds of Thousands of U.S. Troops Aren’t Vaccinated as Government Deadline Approaches

By Just The News. Hundreds of thousands of U.S. service members have not yet received a COVID-19 vaccine or only received one of two doses as the Defense Department’s first vaccine mandate deadlines approach.

For active-duty service members, 90% of the Navy are fully vaccinated, 81% of the Army, about 81% of the Air Force, and 76.5% of the Marine Corps, the Washington Post reported.

The Air Force has the closest deadline of Nov. 2, with over 60,000 active-duty personnel not yet vaccinated. Both the Navy and the Marines have the same deadline of Nov. 28, but the latter, with a total of 180,100 active-duty members, is 13.5% behind in vaccination rate to the former, with 345,200 active-duty members.

The National Guard and reserves are the farthest behind in vaccination rates, as they tend to have later deadlines. The Army National Guard and reserves have vaccination deadlines of June 30, 2022, and their rates are currently at 38.5% and 40%, respectively, according to the Post. Polls Reflect Biden Disaster Presidency; Biden on Shaky Ground With Fellow Democrats

By Breitbart. President Joe Biden’s sinking job approval rating is ten points lower than that of former President Barack Obama during the same point in his presidency, according to a ratings average charted by RealClearPolitics (RCP).

The RCP average for Obama showed on October 11 of his first year in office that he had a better job approval rating than Biden has now. Biden was the vice president for Obama during his eight years in office.

RCP’s average job approval rating for Obama was 53 percent, a ten-point difference from the current president. Obama’s disapproval rating was 40 percent. . .

RCP’s average job approval versus disapproval rating for Biden is almost the exact opposite, with 52.5 percent disapproving and 43 percent approving of his job performance. Less of a spread than the former president, this is still a 9.5-point difference for the current president[.] (Read more from “Polls Reflect Biden Disaster Presidency” HERE)

Biden on Shaky Ground With Fellow Democrats as Poll Numbers Slide

By Fox News. As President Biden’s popularity among American voters continues to decline, so does his clout among fellow Democrats.

An increasing number of Biden allies have voiced their disappointment in his handling of issues like the border crisis, Afghanistan and the Democratic-controlled Congress, where two major pieces of legislation furthering his domestic agenda remain stalled due to party infighting.

The latest crack in the party foundation became evident Sunday after Virginia’s Democratic gubernatorial nominee Terry McAuliffe, who campaigned with Biden in northern Virginia less than three months ago, said he was “frustrated” with the president and Democrats in Congress.

“We have got frustration with Washington,” McAuliffe said in a CNN interview. “Why haven’t we passed this infrastructure bill? It passed the U.S. Senate with 69 votes two months ago. I have been very straight on television. We’re tired of the chitty chat up in Washington. Get in a room and get this figured out. … They’re paid to get up in Washington, get this done.”

The comments came days after McAuliffe said Biden is currently “unpopular” in Virginia. (Read more from “Biden on Shaky Ground With Fellow Democrats as Poll Numbers Slide” HERE)
