U.S. ‘Very Concerned’ About China’s ‘Provocative Military Activity Near Taiwan’

The State Department said on Sunday that the U.S. is “very concerned” about China’s “provocative military activity near Taiwan” following Beijing’s most recent show of air power near the self-governing island.

“The United States is very concerned by the People’s Republic of China’s provocative military activity near Taiwan, which is destabilizing, risks miscalculations, and undermines regional peace and stability. We urge Beijing to cease its military, diplomatic, and economic pressure and coercion against Taiwan,” State Department spokesperson Ned Price said in a statement.

On Friday, China flew 38 military aircraft into Taiwan’s Air Defense Identification Zone, believed to be Beijing’s largest military provocation seen yet. . .

Since the beginning of the year, China has continuously flown military aircrafts into Taiwanese airspace as part of its ramped-up efforts to strengthen its territorial claim over the island. (Read more from “U.S. ‘Very Concerned’ About China’s ‘Provocative Military Activity Near Taiwan'” HERE)

Rand Paul Makes Example Out of HHS Secretary for ‘Lying to People About Naturally Acquired Immunity’

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) grilled Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra during a congressional hearing on Thursday over the Biden administration’s seeming refusal to recognize natural immunity against COVID-19. . .

Paul began the tense exchange, which happened during a Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee hearing, by asking Becerra whether he was aware of an Israeli study that found natural immunity provided significantly stronger protection than the COVID-19 vaccine.

When Becerra admitted he is “not familiar with that study,” Paul tore into the secretary.

“I think you might want to be if you’re going to travel the country insulting the millions of Americans, including NBA star Jonathan Isaac, who had COVID, [and] recovered — look at a study with 2.5 million people, and say, ‘Well, you know what, I should make the decision,'” Paul said. “Instead, you’ve called Jonathan Isaac and others, myself included, flat-earthers. We find that very insulting, it goes against the science.” . . .

Becerra, in fact, is not a medical doctor or public health expert. He spent three decades in politics before joining President Joe Biden’s Cabinet this year. Becerra dodged the direct question, telling Paul that he has “worked over 30 years on health policy.” (Read more from “Rand Paul Makes Example Out of HHS Secretary for ‘Lying to People About Naturally Acquired Immunity’” HERE)

The Case for Electing Conservative Leadership in Fairbanks

The terms “partisan” and “non-partisan” are being thrown around a lot lately. Let’s talk about what it really means and other tactics that progressives use. The local government bodies are called non-partisan because, when an election is held, they do not have party affiliation listed on the ballot next to each candidate. Local governments save a lot of money this way because they don’t need to have a primary election.

Non-partisan doesn’t mean that the candidates don’t have a party or, as some like to imply the phrase means, that they are “neutral” and unbiased and always clearly in the center. This is actually not true of any candidate, as all have their principles and beliefs, and, in fact, that is what the voters are really voting on in a representative republic. The idea is that the candidates communicate what they believe and the principles that guide their political decisions, usually on some specific relevant issues, so that the voters can determine if they will handle their duties as they would like them to. It’s pretty important for it to work this way since you don’t usually know ahead of time what issues they will be voting on, so it lets you know what to expect.

What we usually see here locally are the conservatives, like myself, letting people know that they are standing on conservative principles like limited government, the protection of property rights, and keeping government from making mandates on issues where decisions should be made by the individuals, families or churches. The progressives, on the other hand, seem to use the term non-partisan to hide their principles, probably because they know that their agendas of constantly increasing taxes, frequently restricting property rights, and their love of government mandates don’t play well in a conservative area like ours.

Another example of deceptive phraseology is when someone says they support the tax cap. The tax cap is important because it prevents a spike in government growth in a particular year. It’s not designed to protect against the constant increase in taxation that we’ve seen in Fairbanks, where the records show the budget increasing more than the cost of living almost every year. You need to listen to all that the candidates say to really see what their plans are. If they only talk of all the good things we can have, without mentioning the cost, then watch out; a large tax increase is headed your way. Another way you can really see what people stand for is to look at their donor lists. By and large, conservatives get money from conservatives, and progressives get money from progressives.

Finally, the last bastion of the progressives is to lie. This is usually done by supporters instead of the candidates themselves. Just a few days ago a progressive extremist unleashed a set of lies upon the conservative candidates. His really big whopper is saying that Critical Race Theory isn’t being taught in Fairbanks schools. In relation to me, he accused me of scrubbing my Facebook page, which never happened. I do have privacy settings and have definitely blocked extremists like him as he has been obsessed with me on social media for many years now. I’ll answer his attacks on the conservative preacher in a letter to the editor after the election, as I really hate seeing others slandered.

One more point to think about, the other night at a forum the progressive candidates made it clear that they support the Borough making mandates about your medical decisions, one even insisting that it could use emergency powers to break all the laws against those mandates. That’s not how emergency powers work. Those powers only allow you to bypass some policies in areas that you have already been given powers; they don’t allow you to break constitutional edict, federal statute, state statute or the limited powers of our second class borough.

This year, most local races have two people with completely opposite principles on display. A small amount of research will reveal which candidates care about people (and their businesses) and their God-given rights, and which want government to grow larger and make more decisions for you. In case you have trouble finding enough out there on the candidates, I will list out the conservatives for you in the competitive races: Borough mayor: Bryce Ward or Chris Ludtke; Borough Assembly: Lance Roberts, Patricia Silva and Kevin McKinley; school board: Jeff Rentzel and Andrew Graham; Fairbanks City Council: Jerry Cleworth and Jonathan Bagwill.

Sources: DHS Chief Tells Officials to Brace for 400K Illegal Aliens This Month; Biden Preparing for the Largest Surge of Illegals in DECADES

By WND. Amid public reassurances that the southwest border is under control, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas earlier this week asked senior officials if they were prepared to handle as many as 400,000 migrants crossing in October, nearly double the 21-year high in July.

Two unnamed DHS officials who told NBC News of the phone call said the department is worried about a massive spike in migrants as the court-ordered repeal of the Title 42 expulsion policy takes effect Friday.

Title 42 is the order by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention under the Trump administration authorizing border officers to immediately reject asylum seekers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

On Thursday, Axios reported Panama’s foreign minister has warned that as many as 60,000 more migrants, mostly Haitian, are heading to the United States through her country. She said the Biden administration seemed caught off guard after “we sounded the alarm.”

The administration has not fully complied with the Title 42 order, allowing exceptions for unaccompanied minors and some families with young children. But some far-left Democrats and immigrant advocacy groups, who have sued the White House, want to do away with Title 42 altogether. NBC News: Biden Admin Preparing for the Biggest Surge of Migrants at the Border in Decades Over Judge’s Ruling

By The Blaze. The Biden administration is preparing for a record number of new migrants at the southern border, up to 400,000 people, according to a report from NBC News.

Officials believe that the surge could come as a result of a judge’s order to rescind immigration policies related to Title 42 implemented by the Trump administration to keep migrants applying for refugee status out of the country.

U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan ruled that Biden could not use the same policy to block asylum-seekers, and that order would be in force on Thursday.

The Biden administration is appealing the ruling and may ask the Supreme Court to weigh in on the dispute. (Read more from “NBC News: Biden Admin Preparing for the Biggest Surge of Migrants at the Border in Decades Over Judge’s Ruling” HERE)

Panama Warns 60K Haitians Are Heading to U.S. Border

By Washington Examiner. Panama’s foreign minister sounded the alarm to warn the United States once again of a wave of Haitians coming toward the U.S.-Mexico border.

Erika Mouynes warned in an interview with Axios Wednesday that there were roughly 60,000 migrants, most of whom are Haitians, making their way toward the U.S. southern border, a surge roughly four times as large as the number of migrants reported in Del Rio, Texas.

Mouynes expressed frustration with the U.S. government’s response to the Haitian migrant crisis at the border, explaining, “We sounded the alarm when we should have.”

“We’ve engaged with every single authority that we can think of, that we can come across, to say, ‘Please, let’s pay attention to this,'” she added. (Read more from “Panama Warns 60K Haitians Are Heading to U.S. Border” HERE)

Record 38 Chinese Aircraft Enter Taiwan’s Air Defense Zone

A record-breaking 38 Chinese military aircraft penetrated Taiwan’s Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ) on Friday, forcing the island to deploy its air defense missile system to monitor the incursion, Taiwan News reported.

China’s People’s Liberation Army Airforce (PLAAF) ordered two separate incursions into Taiwan’s airspace on October 1. The PLAAF deployed a total of 38 aircraft to violate Taiwan’s ADIZ on Friday, which is the highest-ever such figure recorded in a single day.

Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense (MND) published two reports on October 1 documenting the twin PLAAF intrusions, which took place hours apart. According to the first report, the Chinese Air Force first deployed “18 Shenyang J-16 fighter jets, four SU-30 jets, two Xian H-6 bombers, and one Shaanxi Y-8 anti-submarine warfare (Y-8 ASW) plane” to enter the southwest corner of Taiwan’s ADIZ.

A short time later, the PLAAF sent another detachment to fly through “a much larger swathe of the southwestern section of the ADIZ,” according to Taiwan News. This unit included “10 Shenyang J-16 fighter jets, two Xian H-6 bombers, and one KJ-500 airborne early warning and control aircraft.”

Taiwan’s Air Force responded to both ADIZ violations by dispatching air patrol aircraft to monitor the activity, broadcasting radio warnings to the Chinese planes, and deploying its anti-aircraft missile system to track and monitor the incursions. These Eight States Have Already Made Universal Mail-In Ballots Permanent

Eight states have permanently adopted universal mail-in ballots for coming elections.

California on Monday became the latest — and the largest — state to adopt the mail-in ballot system. Now, every single eligible voter in California will be mailed ballots for elections without asking for one. . .

NCSL highlighted the following earlier this year:

Five states—Colorado, Hawaii, Oregon, Utah and Washington—allow all elections to be conducted by mail.

Three states—California, Nebraska and North Dakota—permit counties to opt into conducting elections by mail.

Ten states allow specific small elections to be conducted by mail. [Alaska, Arizona, California, Florida, Kansas, Maryland, Missouri, Montana, New Mexico, and Wyoming]

Country Singer Not Backing Over Anti-Biden Wear: I’ll ‘Never Apologize for My Beliefs’

Pro-Trump and openly pro-American country music star Jason Aldean will not be bullied or cowed into recanting his beliefs.

Following left-wing backlash over his family’s open criticism of President Joe Biden and support for former President Donald Trump, Aldean took to Instagram to emphasize his unapologetic stand.

“I will never apologize for my beliefs or my love for my family and country,” the country music superstar captioned a photo of himself on stage surrounded by the American flag. “This is the greatest country in the world and I want to keep it that way.”

For good measure, Aldean added the hashtag “#unapologetic.”

Liberal State to Mandate COVID-19 Vaccine for School Kids

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) on Friday announced that the state will mandate the COVID-19 vaccine for all students in school, once it is fully approved by the Food and Drug Administration.

Newsom said the mandate would begin with older children, age 12 and over, in grades 7-12. But it will not take effect right away, given that he is waiting until the FDA gives full approval to the vaccine in that age group, rather than the current emergency use authorization. The mandate could either begin in the January school term or in Fall of 2022, depending on when the FDA acts.

“I believe we will be the first state in America to move forward with this mandate and requirement, but I do not believe by any stretch of the imagination we will be the last state,” Newsom told reporters at a press conference.

He said there would be medical and religious exemptions to the mandate.

The move to mandate vaccines for students in schools comes as the Biden administration makes a push for vaccine mandates more generally, including a rule requiring businesses with 100 or more employees to ensure their workforce is vaccinated. Poll: Majority of Trump Voters Favor Seceding

A new poll from the University of Virginia Center for Politics shows that a majority of “Trump voters” support the idea of seceding from the nation now run by a gaffe-prone and aging Democrat, Joe Biden, and the long list of catastrophes and crises he’s allowed under his leftist activism.

Those range from the loss of $80 billion in American war machinery, and American personnel, in his withdrawal from Afghanistan, surging inflation, attempts to have the federal government take over elections, the border crisis, his abandonment of religious rights, budget excesses and more.

The poll found that 52% of “Trump voters” agreed with the statement: “The situation in America is such that I would favor (states) seceding from the union to form their own separate country.”

Twenty five percent agreed “strongly.” (Read more from “Poll: Majority of Trump Voters Favor Seceding” HERE)

Here’s How the USPS Plans To Deal With Their Projected $160 Billion Loss

The United States Postal Service projects that it will have a $160 billion loss over the coming decade, so it needs to boost revenue and cut costs.

Postmaster General Louis DeJoy thinks he has the answer: offer slower service.

That’s right, DeJoy’s blueprint for making the USPS solvent includes cutting costs by slowing mail delivery for millions of Americans coupled with hoped-for increased revenues from postage rate hikes, CBS News reported.

However, critics have been quick to point out that this will likely discourage people from using the Post Office. . .

Starting Friday, DeJoy said, the postal service will officially begin slowing down mail delivery. According to CBS News, the USPS’ three-day delivery for first-class mail, which includes letters, bills, and tax documents, will drop to five days. That means customers can expect their bills, letters, and other mail to take up to a business week to get delivered. The agency did say, though that it was keeping its two-day delivery for first-class mail traveling within a local area.
