Sources: DHS Chief Tells Officials to Brace for 400K Illegal Aliens This Month; Biden Preparing for the Largest Surge of Illegals in DECADES

By WND. Amid public reassurances that the southwest border is under control, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas earlier this week asked senior officials if they were prepared to handle as many as 400,000 migrants crossing in October, nearly double the 21-year high in July.

Two unnamed DHS officials who told NBC News of the phone call said the department is worried about a massive spike in migrants as the court-ordered repeal of the Title 42 expulsion policy takes effect Friday.

Title 42 is the order by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention under the Trump administration authorizing border officers to immediately reject asylum seekers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

On Thursday, Axios reported Panama’s foreign minister has warned that as many as 60,000 more migrants, mostly Haitian, are heading to the United States through her country. She said the Biden administration seemed caught off guard after “we sounded the alarm.”

The administration has not fully complied with the Title 42 order, allowing exceptions for unaccompanied minors and some families with young children. But some far-left Democrats and immigrant advocacy groups, who have sued the White House, want to do away with Title 42 altogether. NBC News: Biden Admin Preparing for the Biggest Surge of Migrants at the Border in Decades Over Judge’s Ruling

By The Blaze. The Biden administration is preparing for a record number of new migrants at the southern border, up to 400,000 people, according to a report from NBC News.

Officials believe that the surge could come as a result of a judge’s order to rescind immigration policies related to Title 42 implemented by the Trump administration to keep migrants applying for refugee status out of the country.

U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan ruled that Biden could not use the same policy to block asylum-seekers, and that order would be in force on Thursday.

The Biden administration is appealing the ruling and may ask the Supreme Court to weigh in on the dispute. (Read more from “NBC News: Biden Admin Preparing for the Biggest Surge of Migrants at the Border in Decades Over Judge’s Ruling” HERE)

Panama Warns 60K Haitians Are Heading to U.S. Border

By Washington Examiner. Panama’s foreign minister sounded the alarm to warn the United States once again of a wave of Haitians coming toward the U.S.-Mexico border.

Erika Mouynes warned in an interview with Axios Wednesday that there were roughly 60,000 migrants, most of whom are Haitians, making their way toward the U.S. southern border, a surge roughly four times as large as the number of migrants reported in Del Rio, Texas.

Mouynes expressed frustration with the U.S. government’s response to the Haitian migrant crisis at the border, explaining, “We sounded the alarm when we should have.”

“We’ve engaged with every single authority that we can think of, that we can come across, to say, ‘Please, let’s pay attention to this,'” she added. (Read more from “Panama Warns 60K Haitians Are Heading to U.S. Border” HERE)
