Pentagon Says Almost 450 Americans – Not 100 – Are Still in Afghanistan

Nearly 450 American citizens are estimated to remain in Afghanistan almost two months after U.S. troops withdrew from the country, according to the Pentagon.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken originally said the Biden administration believed there to be “under 200, and likely closer to 100, who remain in Afghanistan and want to leave,” on Aug. 30, the day before the last Anerican troops left Afghanistan.

“In terms of how many American citizens we estimate are currently in Afghanistan, the Department of State is in contact with 196 American citizens who are ready to depart – and arrangements are being made for them to do so, either via air or over ground,” Under Secretary of Defense for Policy Colin Kahl said at a Senate Committee on Armed Services hearing Tuesday.

“Another 243 American citizens have been contacted and are not ready to depart, either because they want to stay in Afghanistan or aren’t ready,” he added, bringing the total number of citizens remaining to 439. Woke Economy!!! Biden’s Treasury Adds Counselor to Address Alleged ‘Systemic Racism’

President Joe Biden’s Treasury Department announced it has created a new post to combat alleged racial inequality issues in banking and other financial services industries.

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said on Monday that Janis Bowdler, a former JPMorgan Chase executive is “part of a multi-pronged strategy by the Biden administration to deal with systemic racism found in many parts of the economy,” the Associated Press (AP) reported.

”Treasury must play a central role in ensuring that as our economy recovers from the pandemic, it recovers in a way that addresses the inequalities that existed long before anyone was infected with COVID-19,” Yellen said in a statement.

Judge: Men Shot by Kyle Rittenhouse Not Victims

A Wisconsin judge ruled on Monday that Kyle Rittenhouse’s defense team can refer to the men he shot as “rioters” and “looters,” but prosecutors may not call them “victims” at any point during Rittenhouse’s upcoming murder trial.

Kenosha County Circuit Judge Bruce Schroeder’s decision came at a hearing where he laid out the ground rules for Rittenhouse’s November 1 trial.

Schroeder warned Rittenhouse’s attorneys against using the terms “rioters” and “looters” during opening statements but said they could be used in closing arguments if evidence suggested the men engaged in criminal activity.

According to The Chicago Tribune, “Schroeder indicated he would allow evidence of bad behavior that night by the men Rittenhouse shot because it could speak to how dangerous they would have seemed to the teen.”

Who’s In Charge? The White House Is Constantly Cleaning up Biden’s Comments (VIDEO)

White House staff have made a habit of clarifying or outright rolling back President Joe Biden’s statements, leaving many critics questioning who is really in charge of the administration.

Few events have illustrated the White House’s propensity to edit the president’s comments than Biden’s performance at CNN’s town hall on Thursday. There, the president vowed that the U.S. had a “commitment” to defend Taiwan from Chinese aggression, and said he was considering a mobilization of the National Guard to alleviate supply chain chaos across the country. White House press secretary Jen Psaki nullified those statements the following day.

“There has been no shift,” Psaki said Friday of U.S. relations with Taiwan. “The president was not announcing a change in our policy, nor has he made a decision to change our policy. There is no change in our policy. Our defense relationship with Taiwan is guided by the Taiwan Relations Act.” . . .

While the president’s critics were quick to highlight the White House’s apparent editing of the president’s comments, it not the first time the president’s public comments have received such treatment from his administration.

Biden received the same treatment from his military generals in late September, when Gen. Kenneth McKenzie, the head of U.S. Central Command, testified to Congress that he had, in fact, advised Biden to keep 2,500 troops in Afghanistan. The testimony contradicted Biden’s public comments on his chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan in August, when he claimed his military advisers made no such recommendation. Insulting and Absurd: Woke Claim That ‘Rational Thinking’ Is a White Male Thing Is Ridiculous

George Orwell famously said that “there are some ideas so absurd that only an intellectual could believe them.”

His adage now applies to anyone associated with academia in any capacity.

The New York Times ran a report the other day on the canceling of University of Chicago geophysicist Dorian Abbot for his dissenting views on affirmative action. The paper quoted a Williams College geosciences professor, Phoebe A. Cohen, who supports Abbot’s shunning. She explained her dim view of academic freedom thusly: “This idea of intellectual debate and rigor as the pinnacle of intellectualism comes from a world in which white men dominated.”

Ah, yes, that poisoned fruit of the patriarchy — intellectual debate and rigor.

This idea isn’t new, even if Cohen expressed it in a memorably pithy and direct way. Of all the faddish notions blighting college campuses and the broader culture, it is among the most indefensible and self-destructive. By Fox News. Rapper Bryson Gray announced on Twitter Thursday that his music video poking fun at President Joe Biden was removed from YouTube due to “medical misinformation.”

“YouTube has banned ‘Let’s Go Brandon’ song from YouTube due to ‘medical information,’ Gray posted on Twitter. “What medical misinformation is in the song? Whoa.” . . .

The phrase “Let’s Go Brandon” became an internet phenomenon after an NBC reporter told viewers during a NASCAR Xfinity series broadcast that fans in the stands were shouting “Let’s Go Brandon!” while she interviewed driver Brandon Brown. The fans were actually shouting, “F*** Joe Biden!”

‘Severe Concerns’: Scientists Sound Alarm to FDA Concerning COVID Vaccine; Calls for Unvaccinated to Be Isolated Increase (VIDEO)

As the U.S. Food and Drug Administration discusses administering COVID-19 vaccines to young children, an independent group of Israeli physicians, lawyers, scientists and researchers is advising the FDA of their “severe concerns” regarding the reliability and legality of official Israeli vaccine data.

The Israeli group, the Israeli Professional Ethics Front, said it recognizes the Jewish state has been seen as “the world laboratory” regarding the safety and efficacy of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine. . .

“We believe that the significant failures underlying the Israeli database, which have been brought to our attention by numerous testimonies, impair its reliability and legality to such an extent that it should not be used for making any critical decisions regarding the COVID-19 vaccines,” the letter said.

Ahead of a meeting of expert advisers to the FDA scheduled for Tuesday, the agency released a briefing document from Pfizer and its partner BioNTech in which the companies state their data supporting authorization of their COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5 to 11.

Noam Chomsky: Unvaccinated Should Be ‘Isolated’ From Society

By Breitbart. Famed MIT linguist professor and far-left activist Noam Chomsky believes that while people who refuse vaccines should be forced to inject one, they should still be “isolated” to protect the community.

During an interview with Kurt Gödel, Chomsky said that the topic of vaccine mandates is a “mixed story” that should strike a compromise between individual freedom and community safety, wherein the community forms a “social convention” that pushes the isolation of unvaccinated people:

People who refuse to accept vaccines, I think the right response for them is not to force them to, but rather to insist that they be isolated. If people decide, ‘I am willing to be a danger to the community by refusing to vaccinate,’ they should say then, ‘Well, I also have the decency to isolate myself. I don’t want a vaccine, but I don’t have the right to run around harming people.’ That should be a convention. Enforcing is a different question. It should be understood. And we should try to get it to be understood. If it really reaches the point where they are severely endangering people, then of course you have to do something about it.

For example, Chomsky said that if someone were to refuse the smallpox vaccine and then frequent public places where smallpox could spread, that would be a situation where the community would have to step in and stop that person. Chomsky said that we have not reached that crisis point with the coronavirus pandemic “yet.”

“So I think we should first attempt to establish conventions that will be understandable by people with some moral capacity to try to convince them that it’s your rights to refuse to get a vaccine, but then it is your responsibility to isolate yourself so you don’t harm others,” he concluded.

Disaster Presidency: Biden’s Approval Hits New Low

President Joe Biden’s approval rating hit a new low of just over 43% in FiveThirtyEight’s polling tracker as he confronts multiple economic and legislative headwinds.

Biden’s approval stood at 43.5%, and has steadily declined since July. His disapproval stood at 50.6%, the highest of his presidency.

Biden’s slide has coincided with another spike in coronavirus cases, a messy Afghanistan withdrawal and economic challenges ranging from supply chain issues to inflation. He has also pinned much of his domestic agenda on the bipartisan infrastructure bill and his sweeping budget, but left-wing and moderate Democrats have yet to agree on a compromise that would give both the votes needed to pass the House, where they hold just a three-vote margin, and the 50-50 Senate. Democrats Ready To Put a Wrap on Dragged-Out Spending Bill Talks

Democrats are eager to finish talks over President Biden’s sweeping spending bill, arguing the party is gaining little by dragging out negotiations.

The push to wrap things up quickly comes as months of haggling has led to pent-up frustrations that have dominated headlines and conversations around Capitol Hill. Democrats missed a self-imposed deadline of working out a framework by Friday, though talks continued into the weekend.

Even once Democrats lock in a framework, they’ll likely still have days of drafting and ironing out details. But after days of patience wearing increasingly thin, lawmakers are eager to take the first step and show that they and Biden can deliver on the massive spending package.

“It’s hurting Biden. It’s hurting the Democrats. It’s undermining the vision of all the accomplishments we will have as being highly significant. The frustration is people’s heads are blowing off. And they should be. It has to come to an end,” Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.) said during a recent interview with MSNBC. Here’s What the WH Is Saying About the ‘F**K Joe Biden’ Chants

The White House is claiming they are unfamiliar with anti-Joe Biden chants, such as the blunt and ever-popular “F*** Joe Biden” chant, and the more recent “Let’s Go Brandon” meme. The latter went viral following a recent NASCAR race, where an NBC reporter claimed fans were cheering on the race winner, Brandon Brown, when they were actually chanting “F*** Joe Biden.”

“Administration officials sought to downplay the phenomenon, and at least one claimed to be unfamiliar with the ‘Let’s go Brandon’ chant or its cruder cousin, though they are now chanted everywhere from football stadiums to concert arenas to local bars,” The Washington Post reported Saturday.

White House spokesman Andrew Bates claimed, “I had never heard of that chant until you explained it to me.”

Mocking the anti-Biden sentiment as fringe, Bates added, “I guess I’m not spending enough time on 8chan or whatever.”
