42 Fully Vaccinated Indiana Residents Have Died Of COVID-19 Over 1 Week; Matthew McConaughey Says He Wants to ‘Find Out More Information’ Before Mandating Vaccines for His Children
By International Business Times. More than 40 fully vaccinated residents have died of COVID-19 in Indiana over the past week as breakthrough infections continue to rise, according to state data.
Indiana health officials recorded 42 cases of breakthrough COVID-19 deaths among the fully vaccinated between Oct. 29 and Nov. 4. The state has now reported 623 deaths among the fully vaccinated, which represents 0.018% of its inoculated population.
At least 89% of the breakthrough deaths involved fully vaccinated individuals aged 65 and older, with an average age of 78, according to the state’s COVID-19 Vaccination Dashboard.
During the same period, the state also recorded 2,994 new confirmed COVID-19 cases among the fully vaccinated. The state has reported a total of 59,228 breakthrough infections since the beginning of the pandemic, representing 1.753% of its fully vaccinated population.
Breakthrough COVID-19 hospitalizations also increased over the past week. Between Oct. 29 and Nov. 4, health officials recorded 84 new admissions. There are currently 1,268 inoculated residents admitted with the novel coronavirus statewide. The figures represent 0.038% of the state’s fully vaccinated population. Matthew McConaughey Says He Wants to ‘Find Out More Information’ Before Mandating Vaccines for His Children

The issue has become a hot-button topic since a vaccination against coronavirus was made widely available early this year for adults.
In recent weeks, developers have been working toward making the vaccine available to children, prompting questions about whether such a vaccine should be mandated for kids.
Speaking at The New York Times’ DealBook summit, the 52-year-old actor expressed hesitancy to require his children to get the vaccine.
