U.S. To Send Ukraine $275 Million in Military Hardware Amid New Doubts About Support

The Department of Defense is again tapping into U.S. military stock to send Ukraine $275 million in weapons and ammunition, even as the Biden administration this week announced a plan to safeguard and account for munitions sent to help Kyiv in its fight against Russian invaders.

On Friday, the Pentagon announced the 24th drawdown of U.S. arms and equipment for Ukraine since the start of the Biden administration. The latest support package will bring the total U.S. military assistance for Ukraine to more than $18.5 billion, officials said.

“The capabilities we are delivering are carefully calibrated to make the most difference on the battlefield for Ukraine today,” Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Friday in a statement.

The new shipments were announced even as the administration was dealing with the first visible cracks in strong bipartisan support for Ukraine in the war. Progressive Democrats released — and then retracted — a letter earlier this week pressing the White House for direct talks with Moscow on a deal to end the war, just days after House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, a Republican, warned his party would not be signing a “blank check” to Mr. Biden for Ukraine aid in the future.

The latest drawdown includes more ammunition for the High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS) that have been a crucial factor in countering Russian troops on the battlefield. The package also includes 500 precision-guided 155 mm artillery rounds; 2,000 remote anti-armor mines; more than 1,300 anti-armor systems: 125 Humvees and more than 2.75 million rounds of small-arms ammunition, Pentagon officials said. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) was caught Thursday on a hot mic telling President Joe Biden that Democrats are “going downhill” in Georgia and expressing disbelief that Republican Herschel Walker might win the Senate race.

“The state where we’re going downhill is Georgia,” he told Biden. “It’s hard to believe that they will go for Herschel Walker.”

More footage of the hot mic moment showed Schumer expressing concern over the Democrats’ chances. “We’re in danger in that seat,” Schumer told the president in Syracuse, New York. It’s unclear which seat he is referring to, however.

The majority leader additionally mentioned Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. John Fetterman’s highly scrutinized debate performance against Dr. Mehmet Oz on Tuesday evening.

Obama Claims Republicans Would ‘Investigate Their Political Opponents’ if They Win Midterms

Former President Barack Obama criticized Republicans during a speech Friday for planning on “investigating their political opponents” if they win control of Congress in November.

The former president also claimed that the Republicans would not help Georgians but focus on themselves instead and cut out programs such as Social Security and Medicare and give tax breaks to large corporations.

“[Republicans] spend the next two years investigating their political opponents, how’s that gonna help you pay the bills?” Obama asked.

Obama’s statements follow years of investigations into former President Donald Trump following multiple controversies, including allegations that he colluded with Russia during the 2016 presidential election. During a discussion on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) husband, Paul Pelosi, being attacked in his San Francisco Home early Friday morning, Wagner said, “Marjorie Taylor Greene, she has previously said that speaker Pelosi is a traitor to our country. She is guilty of treason. She gives aid and comfort to our enemies.”

Omar said, “We should not live in fear just because we have decided to serve our country, our constituents, and want the ability to shape the way in which our country is governed. What the Republicans have put out in those statements that you read to me – I just want the audience to realize that it is dangerous. It is delusional, and it is disturbing. But their righteous fury is already being called phony by those who believe, as one put it, that quitting Twitter will become the new “I’m moving to Canada.”

NBC’s This Is Us producer Ken Olin was among the first to declare his Twitter exodus. “I’m out of here,” he tweeted Friday.

Economic Downturn in Tech Industry Could Affect Americans in Worst Way

Americans could suffer from Big Tech firms laying off workers and freezing hiring as the economy remains volatile, the founder of a Bay Area job search community told Fox News.

“The average American will probably be impacted, at least in some form, by what may happen in this next economic downturn in the tech industry,” Albert’s List founder Albert Qian said. “We touch these things every single day, whether it’s Google Search, a store on Amazon, an Apple device.”

“When the Microsofts, the Googles, the Amazons, the Twitters, when those companies start laying off people, that’s when we need to start paying attention,” he continued.

Major tech companies have taken steps to cut their workforce in anticipation of an economic downturn in the coming months. Microsoft, for example, recently announced layoffs across multiple divisions, and Meta implemented a hiring freeze. State Votes to Ban Sex Change Procedures for Minors After Volatile Testimony

The Florida Board of Medicine has voted to ban sex change surgeries and hormone therapy for children under the age of 18 after hours of deliberation and testimony Friday.

The guidelines, first released April 20, 2022, state that anyone under 18 cannot receive hormone therapy or puberty blockers. It also bans “gender reassignment” surgery for children and adolescents. The Florida Medical Board released the guidance in response to guidance from the US Department of Health and Human Services endorsed sex change procedures for teens.

The state surgeon general endorsed the move in June and called on the medical board to, “review the Agency’s findings and the Department’s guidance to establish a standard of care for these complex and irreversible procedures.”

The vote came after the board heard testimony from several individuals who had detransitioned. One such individual, Chloe Cole, said she decided to transition after being “introduced to inappropriate content, and an echo chamber of far-Left ideology, such as that sex and gender are separate, women are inherently victims, men are inherently superior, and that dysphoric children need hormones and surgery in order to live.” (Read more from “State Votes to Ban Sex Change Procedures for Minors After Volatile Testimony” HERE)

Democratic Staffer Fired After Covertly Working With Chinese Embassy

A staffer for Democratic Virginia Rep. Don Beyer was fired this week for allegedly working on behalf of the Chinese Embassy in Washington to set up meetings with other Congressional aides, according to a National Review report.

The staffer, Barbara Hamlett, allegedly reached out to other Congressional staffers and attempted to arrange meetings between them and Chinese Embassy officials for at least several months, National Review reported. Beyer quickly fired Hamlett after he learned of the allegations against her and investigated.

“While Congressman Beyer had no inkling of this staffer’s actions and acted promptly upon learning of them, he understands that his constituents may be shocked to learn of this, just as he was,” Beyer’s deputy chief of staff Aaron Fritschner said. “He pledges to them that he will remain a fierce critic of China’s record, continue to oppose the CCP’s totalitarian repression of its citizens, and hold himself and his staff to the highest professional and ethical standards.” (Read more from “Democratic Staffer Fired After Covertly Working With Chinese Embassy” HERE)

Whistleblower Details How FBI Allegedly Broke Rules, Made Jan. 6 Higher Priority Than Child Pornography

An FBI whistleblower joined Daily Wire host Andrew Klavan Friday to reveal his frustration with the bureau’s leadership over the January 6 investigations and detail what he experienced as an agent.

Steve Friend, who was a domestic terrorism investigator before being suspended, told the host of “The Andrew Klavan Show” that the FBI broke its own rules when investigating January 6 cases and arrested people without enough evidence. He also explained how one of his superiors told him that January 6 was a higher priority than pursuing child pornography cases.

“When I was moved over to from my child exploitation cases, the assistant special agent in charge even mentioned that he felt that child pornography was going to be a local issue and that domestic terrorism, specifically January 6th, was the higher priority,” Friend said.

The whistleblower added that when he started getting involved on January 6 cases, he noticed that they were “more or less being directed from Washington, D.C.,” even though local field offices usually call most of the shots on cases. Friend explained that this was “inconsistent with FBI rules.”

“So we have very specific rules when it comes to having cases open once they’re opened and assigned to a specific field office,” Friend told Klavan. “And there’s agents or task force officers who are running that case. Biden Blames Republicans for Violent Attack on Nancy Pelosi’s Husband

President Joe Biden (D) blamed Republicans on Friday night for a man who attacked House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D) husband during the early morning hours on Friday. . .

Addressing a crowd on the campaign trail in Pennsylvania, Biden called the attack “despicable,” saying there is “no place in America” for it.

“There’s too much violence, political violence, too much hatred, too much vitriol,” Biden said. “And what makes us think that one party can talk about stolen elections, COVID being a hoax, that it’s all a bunch of lies, and it not affect people who may not be so well balanced.”

“What makes us think that it’s not going to corrode the political climate?” he continued. “Enough is enough is enough. Every person of good conscience needs to clearly and unambiguously stand up against violence in our politics, no matter what your politics are.”

Heavy.com, a fact-finding website, highlighted a tweet from a Mission Local journalist Joe Eskenazi that stated: “My sources also name the suspect in this morning’s hammer attack on Paul Pelosi as David DePape, born 1980, of Berkeley.
