Obama Claims Republicans Would ‘Investigate Their Political Opponents’ if They Win Midterms
Former President Barack Obama criticized Republicans during a speech Friday for planning on “investigating their political opponents” if they win control of Congress in November.
The former president also claimed that the Republicans would not help Georgians but focus on themselves instead and cut out programs such as Social Security and Medicare and give tax breaks to large corporations.
“[Republicans] spend the next two years investigating their political opponents, how’s that gonna help you pay the bills?” Obama asked.
Obama’s statements follow years of investigations into former President Donald Trump following multiple controversies, including allegations that he colluded with Russia during the 2016 presidential election.
