Gov. Greg Abbott Does Not Seem Concerned That He’s Funding a Texas University Lab That Worked to Censor Conservatives

Texas Governor Greg Abbott declined to answer repeated questions from the Daily Caller News Foundation on whether he believes it is appropriate for taxpayer funds to support a Texas university’s project that worked to censor conservatives.

The University of Texas at Austin houses the Global Disinformation Lab, established in 2020 to research a “broad spectrum of information, misinformation, and disinformation via digital media.” The lab recently partnered with the Global Disinformation Index (GDI), which works to blacklist conservative news sites from ad exchanges, according to documents obtained by the Washington Examiner, for a research report released in December 2022.

Researchers from the UT Austin lab analyzed 69 news websites between June and October, finding conservative websites — including the New York Post, Reason, RealClearPolitics, The Daily Wire, The Blaze, OANN, The American Conservative, The Federalist, Newsmax and The American Spectator — most at risk for disinformation, according to the review. Meanwhile, liberal-leaning websites like The Washington Post, BuzzFeed News and The New York Times were rated “low” risk.

The Daily Caller News Foundation reached out to Governor Abbot’s office on seven occasions over the course of a week, asking his opinion on taxpayer funds going to the lab’s projects, as the university receives 24% of its funding from state and county support. Communications director Renae Eze provided a statement highlighting Abbott’s freedom of speech initiatives but did not address the question.

“The University of Texas is not currently partnering with the UK-based index and will not in the future,” Eze said. “Here in Texas, Governor Abbott has long-championed freedom of speech for Texans and Americans. In the last two legislative sessions, the Governor has fought for and signed legislation into law protecting Texans from wrongful censorship on social media platforms and protecting free speech on Texas’ college campuses. And just last month, Governor Abbott helped facilitate a pivotal agreement between Newsmax and DIRECTV to protect the right of conservative voices and viewpoints to be heard.” (Read more from “Gov. Police Release Dash Cam Footage of Trans Teacher Who Allegedly Threatened Violence (VIDEO)

A transgender Florida teacher who allegedly threatened violence against his middle school students told police that his therapist told him therapy wouldn’t work for him in newly released dash cam footage.

The footage, obtained by Moms for Liberty in Hernando County, Florida, shows police arriving at the home of Alexander Renczkowski following the threats he allegedly made. The teacher said he was having “bad thoughts” and a deputy collected three firearms and ammunition from his home under a temporary Risk Protection Order (RPO) on March 27.

The police officer inquired about a therapy appointment scheduled for the coming Monday in the footage, and the teacher told him it was with a new therapist.

“My first one [therapist] was not that good, told me ‘therapy is not gonna work for you,’” the teacher appears to say in the video.

US, South Korea Escalate Efforts To Deter North Korea Nuclear Attacks

President Biden and South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol unveiled at the White House Wednesday a new agreement designed to deter North Korea from launching a nuclear attack, including the deployment of a U.S. nuclear-armed submarine to South Korea for the first time in nearly 40 years.

The arrangement, which is dubbed the “Washington Declaration,” was the centerpiece of Mr. Yoon’s visit to Washington as Mr. Biden hosted him for a bilateral meeting, joint press conference, and state dinner at the White House.

South Korea already benefits from protection under the U.S. “nuclear umbrella,” which is the nuclear-powered nation’s guarantee to defend a non-nuclear ally.

But North Korea has become increasingly aggressive in testing nuclear missiles and shown little interest in diplomacy about reducing its nuclear stockpile, raising alarms in Seoul and Japan.

Whistleblower: Federal Government Facilitating ‘Multi-Billion-Dollar Child Trafficking Operation’ at U.S. Border

A whistleblower who worked at President Joe Biden’s Health and Human Services (HHS) says the federal government is facilitating a “multi-billion-dollar child trafficking operation” at the United States-Mexico border that delivers migrant children to traffickers, abusers, and others looking to exploit them.

On Wednesday, House Judiciary Subcommittee Immigration Integrity, Security, and Enforcement Chair Tom McClintock (R-CA) held a hearing with experts and whistleblowers regarding the Unaccompanied Alien Children (UACs) program, overseen by the Biden administration, that releases migrant children to sponsors throughout American communities.

Tara Lee Rodas, who worked at HHS in 2021 before blowing the whistle on the UAC program, testified that the federal government is merely a “middleman” in a migrant child trafficking operation that has proven lucrative for the Mexican drug cartels and the sponsors the children end up living with inside the U.S. . .

I must confess; I knew nothing about their suffering until 2021 when I volunteered to help the Biden administration with the crisis at the southern border. As part of Operation Artemis, I was deployed to the Pomona Fairplex Emergency Intake Site in California to help the HHS Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) reunite children with sponsors in the U.S. [Emphasis added]

I thought I was going to help place children in loving homes. Instead, I discovered that children are being trafficked through a sophisticated network that begins with being recruited in their home country, smuggled to the U.S. border, and ends when ORR delivers a child to a sponsors – some sponsors are criminals and traffickers and members of Transnational Criminal Organizations. Some sponsors view children as commodities and assets to be used for earning income — this is why we are witnessing an explosion of labor trafficking. [Emphasis added]

DOJ Sues State to Reverse Ban on Trans Treatments for Minors

The Department of Justice sued Tennessee on Wednesday over a state law prohibiting transgender hormone treatments and surgeries for minors.

Tennessee’s ban on sex-change treatments for minors violates the Equal Protection Clause, the DOJ said in a statement. The law discriminates against “transgender youth” diagnosed with gender dysphoria, blocking sex-change treatments for them “while allowing non-transgender minors access to the same or similar procedures.”

“No person should be denied access to necessary medical care just because of their transgender status,” said Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke, who leads the DOJ’s Civil Rights Division. “The right to consider your health and medically-approved treatment options with your family and doctors is a right that everyone should have, including transgender children, who are especially vulnerable to serious risks of depression, anxiety and suicide. WATCH: Democrat State Rep. Caught on Camera Hiding Bibles from Colleagues

Arizona State Rep. Stephanie Stahl Hamilton (D-Tucson) was caught on camera hiding Bibles from her colleagues in the House members-only lounge at the Arizona State Capitol.

When Bibles started disappearing from the lounge, security officers set up a hidden camera to see who was behind the theft. Not too long after that, they discovered Stahl Hamilton was the culprit, according to a report by AZFamily.

AZFamily journalist David Caltabiano posted video footage of the state representative taking a Bible from a console table in the lounge and appearing to hide it.

Biden Cheat Sheet Shows He Had Advance Knowledge of Journalist’s Question

A cheat sheet held by President Biden during a Wednesday press conference revealed that the 80-year-old commander in chief had advance knowledge of a question from a journalist.

“How are YOU squaring YOUR domestic priorities — like reshoring semiconductors manufacturing — with alliance-based foreign policy?” read a question from Los Angeles Times reporter Courtney Subramanian.

The revelation came during a joint press conference with South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol that discussed growing nuclear threats from North Korea — as the nations celebrate the 70th anniversary of their alliance.

Another cheat sheet showed the names of other Biden administration officials to relay the order remarks would be delivered at the press conference.

Tucker Carlson Hints at Future in New Statement after Ouster from Fox News

Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson released a statement Wednesday evening that appeared to hint that he intends to stay working in media to cover big topics that are often not discussed on television news.

“One of the first things you realize when you step outside the noise for a few days is how many genuinely nice people there are in this country, kind and decent people, people who really care about what’s true and a bunch of hilarious people — also, a lot of those,” Carlson began. “The other thing you notice when you take a little time off is how unbelievably stupid most of the debates you see on television are, they’re completely irrelevant. They mean nothing. In five years, we won’t even remember that we had them, trust me as someone who’s participated.”

“And yet at the same time, and this is the amazing thing, the undeniably big topics, the ones that will define our future, get virtually no discussion at all: war, civil liberties, emerging science, demographic change, corporate power, natural resources,” he continued. “When was the last time you heard a legitimate debate about any of those issues? It’s been a long time. Debates like that are not permitted in American media. Both political parties and their donors have reached consensus on what benefits them, and they actively collude to shut down any conversation about it.”

Maybe He’s Born with It! Trans Influencer New Face of Maybelline (VIDEO)

Many social media users are calling for a boycott of the makeup company Maybelline due to its partnership with Dylan Mulvaney last month.

Mulvaney, a transgender who is also at the center of the Bud Light boycott, posted a video on March 13 of himself applying make-up, stating he was “[g]etting glam” with the hashtag “#Maybellinepartner.”

The video centered around his 365th day “of being a girl.”

Maybelline reposted the clip to its Instagram account on March 15, writing, “Maybelline Glam all day, every day!”

“So proud to be part of @dylanmulvaney’s incredible journey as she celebrated 365 days of being a girl on Monday Thanks for letting us be part of your special day LOVE YA!” the post added.

Murders Jumped 10% Since 2021 in Major Democrat-Led US Cities Thanks to Soft-On-Crime Policies: Study

The murder rates in major US Cities have soared more than 10% in the past two years — with most homicides occurring in Democratic areas with soft-on-crime policies.

In a study released by WalletHub Wednesday, researchers found that Memphis, Tennesse; New Orleans, Louisana; Richmond, Virginia; Washington, DC; and Detroit, Michigan are suffering from the biggest homicide rate problems.

All five cities are led by left-wing mayors.

After comparing the rise in murder rates in 45 of the country’s most populated cities between 2021 and 2023, scholars noticed that killings were rising faster in Democrat-led cities than in their Republican counterparts.

Though the Covid-19 pandemic can be blamed for the initial jump in homicides, scholars theorized that soft-on-crime policing has exacerbated the issue in progressive cities.
