UK Begins Military Evacuation in Sudan While US Says It’s Too Dangerous

While a 72-hour ceasefire appears to be holding, the British government has begun to evacuate British nationals from Sudan aboard military flights from an airfield outside the capital Khartoum, the United Kingdom government announced today.

“Flights will be open to those with British passports and priority will be given to family groups with children and/or the elderly or individuals with medical conditions,” according to the statement tweeted by the U.K. Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. “At this stage we will contact those who are eligible for evacuation directly and British nationals should not make their way to the airfield unless called.”

Meanwhile, the Pentagon said the security situation in Khartoum is too uncertain for a U.S. military airlift of Americans and dual nationals trapped in the city, as two warring generals fight over a plan to combine their rival military factions.

“We’re going to do everything we can to help guide people, get them the information they need to get out safely, but it is not safe right now, for another evacuation attempt that would actually put Americans in more danger, not less,” said NSC spokesman John Kirby on CBS.

Instead, the Biden administration is telling Americans who want to get out of Khartoum to consider an arduous 500-mile drive overland to Port Sudan. “We just entered a period of a ceasefire, we hope it holds, but because of the violence we’ve seen in the last few days, our best advice to most Americans who are still in Sudan, despite the warnings to leave, is to shelter in place, stay somewhere safe and secure before moving about,” said Kirby on CNN last night. The Intelligence Leak Shows Us Nothing New or Surprising about Ukraine

As a retired U.S. Army intelligence officer, I was struck by three things about the recent Discord leaks of classified information. First, that top secret information is far more widely distributed than it was 25 years ago, and second, that the claim that “our government is lying to us” about the situation in Ukraine is wildly overblown. And lastly, that we barely dodged a bullet. . .

As was seen in the most recent leak, the other aspect to classification is how significantly overclassified things have become. (Is “Confidential” still used as a classification? Because I can’t recall the last time I saw any leak of classified documents marked “Confidential.”) It’s as if the classifying authorities — actual people (and I’ve classified a few documents in my time) — believe they derive some authority or prestige by the volume of top-secret documents they produce. It’s almost as if they’re acting like academics looking to pad their publication count. . .

On to the claim that the leaked documents show our government isn’t leveling with the American people about the progress of Russia’s war on Ukraine. . .

The fact is that the U.S. and its Western allies are woefully unprepared for an extended conventional conflict. So too is Russia, as seen with its own significant shortages of artillery ammunition, missiles, and tanks. This problem isn’t new. Maintaining military-industrial base readiness was a costly investment few were willing to make after the end of the Cold War. American production of missiles such as the Javelin anti-armor system are only now being ramped up to a rate where it will take a couple of years to replenish stocks used in Ukraine so far.

It’s also true that some of the military supplies America is sending to Ukraine would be useful in deterring China from threatening Taiwan or its other neighbors, but some analysts see China and Russia as creating an authoritarian alliance of convenience against the West. If this is the case, Ukraine — and maybe Taiwan — are separate parts of what may become the same conflict. Tucker Carlson, Don Lemon Hire Same Lawyer After Their Ousters

Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson and former CNN anchor Don Lemon hired the same lawyer to navigate their departures from their respective cable television channels.

Reports say Los Angeles, California-based attorney Bryan Freedom is representing both Carlson and Lemon. Freedom has reportedly favorable breakup terms for hosts before, including Megyn Kelly’s departure from NBC News in 2019 and the “The Bachelor” host Chris Harrison in 2021. . .

The New York Times noted that Lemon’s retainer of “aggressive Hollywood litigator” Freedom was a “clear sign of acrimony.”

Carlson’s exit from Fox News sent shockwaves through the political and media landscape.

Left Revels in Tucker Leaving Fox; AOC: ‘Deplatforming Works’ and ‘Is Important’

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), a representative of the U.S. government, cheered the “deplatforming” of conservative media figure Tucker Carlson, saying that “deplatforming works” and “is important.”

“Deplatforming works, and it is important and there you go. Good things can happen,” she said in a video on her Instagram account, after news broke that Tucker Carlson was out at Fox News.

She also claimed Tucker was responsible for death threats to her office and “plenty of people across the country,” saying:

Couldn’t have happened to a better guy. What I will say though, is well, I’m very glad that the person that is arguably responsible for the some of the largest driving some of the most amounts of death threats and violence threats not just to my office, but to plenty of people across the country.

She did express concern that he would eventually find a new platform, comparing him to an evil Marvel villain.

Former White House Physician to Biden: Take Cognitive Test or Drop Out!

U.S. Rep. Ronny Jackson, R-Texas, a physician and formerly the White House doctor for Barack Obama, repeatedly has called on Joe Biden to take a cognitive test and release the results to the public.

Biden has refused, so far.

But now, as Biden has just announced his demand for a second term in the White House, to “finish” the job he’s doing on America, Jackson is renewing his call for transparency.

In a letter being prepared for Biden, the doctor explains, “We write again to express concern with your current cognitive state and ability to serve another term as president. We believe that, regardless of gender, age, or political party, all presidents should document and demonstrate sound mental abilities.”

Tucker Carlson Departs Fox News, Pushed Out by Rupert Murdoch

Fox News announced the stunning departure of its top-rated host Monday with no explanation, but people familiar with the situation who were not authorized to comment publicly said the decision to fire Carlson came straight from Fox Corp. Chairman Rupert Murdoch with input from board members and other Fox Corp. executives. . .

Carlson’s exit is related to the discrimination lawsuit filed by Abby Grossberg, the producer fired by the network last month . . . Grossberg was moved off of “Sunday Morning Futures With Maria Bartiromo” and onto “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” where she alleged she was bullied and subjected to antisemitic comments, according to a lawsuit in New York. . .

Murdoch also was said to be concerned about Carlson’s coverage of the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. The host has promoted the conspiracy theory that it was provoked by government agents, and Carlson has called Ray Epps — a Texas man who participated in the storming of the Capitol but did not enter the building — an FBI plant . . .

Tucker Fired: Fox News Suddenly Parts with Tucker Carlson

By Breitbart. Fox News suddenly announced it would part ways with opinion anchor and commentator Tucker Carlson, who hosted the highly rated Tucker Carlson Tonight.

The separation came as a surprise Monday morning. It is unknown why Fox News and Carlson parted ways.

“FOX News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways,” the press release read. “We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor.”

“Mr. Carlson’s last program was Friday April 21,” the company said. “Fox News Tonight will air live at 8 PM/ET starting this evening as an interim show helmed by rotating FOX News personalities until a new host is named.”

Dan Bongino ‘Stunned’ Reacting Live to Fox Parting Ways with Tucker Carlson

By Daily Wire. Popular conservative pundit Dan Bongino reacted with shock upon learning that Fox News parted ways with top-rated host Tucker Carlson.

“I’m stunned. I don’t even know what to say right now,” Bongino, who himself recently split with Fox News, said as his podcast, “The Dan Bongino Show,” was airing live on Monday.

Moments earlier, Bongino said he had “actual goosebumps” after learning the news and receiving multiple text messages from people following Carlson’s departure.

Biden to Announce Re-Elect Bid by Video; 70% Don’t Want Him to Run: Poll

President Joe Biden is expected to announce his re-election bid on Tuesday — by video.

Numerous reports late last week have said Biden will make the announcement on April 25, which will be the four-year anniversary of his 2020 campaign launch.

The news comes as a new NBC News poll found 70% of Americans, including 51% of Democrats, think Biden, 80, shouldn’t run for re-election, with just 26% supporting the president.

Nearly half of those surveyed (48%) cited Biden’s age as their “major” concern with Biden running again. Another 21% said Biden’s age was a “minor” concern.

Scientists May Have Finally Figured Out Why Hair Turns Gray — And How to Stop It

Researchers at NYU have unlocked fresh evidence as to why human hair loses its natural color over time — which could help prevent people from graying.

The new study, conducted using mice and published in Nature, a peer-reviewed journal, closely examined the melanocyte stem cells known to control hair color.

Earlier in life, these cells can be remarkably dynamic, but with age, as hair is lost and regrown, the McSCs tend to slow down, getting trapped in what’s known as the hair follicle bulge, meaning they don’t get a chance to finish the job they were created to do.

Finding a way to get them moving again, which appears to be entirely possible, could mean the end of gray hair — not just in mice, but in people too, according to the team at NYU’s Grossman School of Medicine.

“[This] adds to our basic understanding of how melanocyte stem cells work to color hair,” said study lead Qi Sun, PhD, a postdoctoral fellow at NYU Langone Health. “The newfound mechanisms raise the possibility that the same fixed positioning of melanocyte stem cells may exist in humans.” (Read more from “Scientists May Have Finally Figured Out Why Hair Turns Gray — And How to Stop It” HERE)

This Largely Unknown Psychological Phenomenon May Be Driving Men to Become Trans, Experts Say

Autogynephilia, or a man’s condition of being sexually aroused by the concept of himself as a woman, is a driving force behind male-to-female transgenderism, according to some experts, but activists and a leading transgender medical group have been reluctant to acknowledge the issue.

The World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), the leading transgender medical organization, removed the term from its standards of care between 1998 and 2001, and proponents of the transgender movement have decried the term as inaccurate and stigmatizing.

Autogynephilia, or AGP, undercuts the narrative pushed by proponents of transgender ideology that gender transitions aren’t sexual, and a significant proportion of transgender people are heterosexual men who are sexually aroused when they present themselves as female and wear women’s clothing, researchers and transgender people have argued. . .

AGP drives the overwhelming majority of male-to-female transsexual cases, according to Dr. Ray Blanchard, a Canadian psychiatry professor who coined the term in the late 1980s. Most of the pushback against the classification of AGP comes from transgender activists and their allies in the mental health field rather than from medical institutions, he said.

“Acknowledging the existence of autogynephilia creates certain problems,” Blanchard told the DCNF. “First, it challenges the conceptualization of male-to-female (MTF) trans as normal, ordinary women who happen to have been born in the wrong body. Study: Face Masks May Raise Risk of Testicular Dysfunction, Stillbirths

Face masks may raise the risk of stillbirths, testicular dysfunction and cognitive decline in children, ‘explosive’ new research suggests.

A review of dozens of studies on face coverings suggested they can cause mild carbon dioxide poisoning when worn over long periods.

The German academics who carried out the research believe masks create a pocket of dead space between the mouth and mask, which traps the toxic gas.

They say the build-up of CO2 in pregnant women’s bodies could cause complications for the unborn fetus. They point out that CO2 also contributes to oxidative stress, which can affect cognition and cause testicular issues in men.
