6,000 Congregations Are Leaving the United Methodist Church in a Split Over LGBTQ Agenda

About a fifth of the congregations in the second largest Protestant church in the U.S. are splitting away over a schism about the inclusion of the LGBTQ agenda in Christianity.

That comes to about 6,000 communities in the United Methodist Church, according to a report in the Chicago Tribune.

“I don’t think any of us want to see any of our churches leave,” said UMC Council of Bishops president Bishop Thomas Bickerton.

“We’re called to be the body of Christ, we’re called to be unified,” he added. “There’s never been a time when the church has not been without conflict, but there’s been a way we’ve worked through that.”

The mass exodus was the latest development in the years-long debate over LGBTQ inclusion in Methodist theology. Traditional Protestant teaching forbids gay relationships and marriages, but some members and churches are opposing the biblical teaching. Teachers’ Union Recommends Sexually Explicit Graphic Novel, Other Controversial Books on Its Summer Reading List

The country’s largest teachers’ union recently released its latest summer reading list, which recommended a sexually explicit graphic novel and several other controversial books to educators.

The National Education Association published a list of 11 suggested reads divided into several sections, including “books that make you forget work,” “books to celebrate or understand Juneteenth,” and “books that will make you a better educator.”

The summer list also included a “banned books” section encouraging bookworms to “celebrate the freedom to read!”

Most notably, the NEA’s recommendations included the controversial graphic comic book, “Gender Queer: A Memoir” by Maira Kobabe.

The NEA’s website stated, “Twilight used to be at the top of banned-book lists for its racy content. Today, those lists are much more likely to feature LGBTQ+ people or People of Color.” (Read more from “Teachers’ Union Recommends Sexually Explicit Graphic Novel, Other Controversial Books on Its Summer Reading List” HERE)

CDC Now Giving Tips for Trans People Who Want to Breastfeed

. . .The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, last seen making toddlers mask for a virus that barely affected them — using masks that didn’t prevent exposure — now has suggestions for trans men and women who want to breastfeed. . .

The term is now “chestfeed,” because why would we assume that the person doing the feeding has breasts? . . .

The CDC advice isn’t just for biological women who have removed their breasts but still want to nurse babies, it’s also for biological men, who through the magic of plastic surgery also have breasts and would now like to use these breasts to feed babies.

As that’s biologically impossible, the CDC suggests getting help with “maximizing milk production, supplementing with pasteurized donor human milk or formula, medication to induce lactation.”

A 2022 CDC note specified “an individual does not need to have given birth to breastfeed or chestfeed.” (Read more from “CDC Now Giving Tips for Trans People Who Want to Breastfeed” HERE)

What Is ‘Long Vax?’ Symptoms Linked to COVID-19 Shot Baffle Docs

You’ve heard of “long COVID,” the cases of people who can’t shake the lingering symptoms of COVID-19.

Now comes “long vax” — a rare, but baffling set of symptoms that follow a small number of people for months after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.

“You see one or two patients and you wonder if it’s a coincidence,” Dr. Anne Louise Oaklander, a neurologist and researcher at Harvard Medical School, told Science.

“But by the time you’ve seen 10, 20 [patients],” she said, “where there’s smoke, there’s fire.”

Cases are very rare — even less common than the few reported cases of long COVID — and medical experts are still analyzing data to determine what might be behind them. (Read more from “What Is ‘Long Vax?’ Symptoms Linked to COVID-19 Shot Baffle Docs” HERE)

House Freedom Caucus Kicks Out Marjorie Taylor Greene, Member Says

The House Freedom Caucus stripped Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) of her caucus membership, according to Rep. Andy Harris (R-MD), a member of the caucus’s executive board.

Harris indicated to reporters Thursday that the final “straw” for Greene, who has been cooperating with House leadership as she seeks to pass legislation, was when she called fellow member Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) a “little bitch” on the House floor last month.

“I think the straw that broke the camel’s back was publicly saying things about another member in terms that no one should,” Harris told Politico and CNN.

Greene had lobbed the insult at Boebert while charging that Boebert had “copied” her by filing her own impeachment articles against President Joe Biden after Greene had already done so.

The testy remarks were first reported in the Daily Beast, which also reported that one lawmaker confirmed Boebert, in fact, opposed kicking Greene out of the group. (Read more from “House Freedom Caucus Kicks Out Marjorie Taylor Greene, Member Says” HERE)

Report: Joe Biden to Supply Ukraine With Controversial Cluster Bombs

President Joe Biden is expected to supply Ukraine with cluster bombs, which much of the world has vowed not to use due to their long-term effects on civilians.

A senior Biden administration official told the New York Times that the United States will provide Ukraine with cluster munitions after Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky pushed for America to provide the country with the controversial and widely-banned weapon.

Cluster munitions are a category of rockets, bombs, missiles, and artillery projectiles that break apart in the air and blanket a large area. The munitions often fail and can devastate civilians.

Humanitarian groups state that a fifth or more of the munitions can linger and harm civilians years after the conflict. More than 100 countries have signed the Convention of Cluster Munitions, promising not to use them. However, Russia, the United States, and Ukraine have not signed the treaty.

Ukraine has claimed that cluster munitions would help its counteroffensive against Russia. (Read more from “Report: Joe Biden to Supply Ukraine With Controversial Cluster Bombs” HERE)

Ben & Jerry’s Loses an Estimated $2.5 Billion After Leftist July 4 Tweet

Unilever, the parent company of Ben & Jerry’s, lost billions in market cap after the ice cream brand celebrated July 4th with an unpatriotic tweet about American history.

Unilever’s share price went from $52.32 per share to $51.37 per share, erasing an estimated $2.5 billion in market cap as social media users called for a boycott, according to Google finance data. The packaged goods conglomerate saw its market cap drop from roughly $133 billion to $131 billion because its share price decreased. . .

Ben & Jerry’s left-wing activism has made headlines before, especially when the brand announced in July 2021 that it would stop selling ice cream in certain parts of Israel. Nonetheless, the firm has declined to boycott red states over voting and abortion laws, despite the company’s progressive advocacy.

In April 2021, Ben & Jerry’s advocated for defunding the police, a policy supported by Black Lives Matter and other activist groups. The company began calling for police to be defunded in June 2020, at the height of the Black Lives Matter riots that summer. Harmful Chemicals Found in Nearly Half of U.S. Tap Water: Study

Nearly half of the tap water in the United States likely contains toxic chemicals linked to cancer and other health issues, according to a new study from the U.S. Geological Survey.

The synthetic compounds known as “forever chemicals,” or PFAS, seep into drinking water across the country, from large metropolitan areas to rural towns.

“The study estimates that at least one type of PFAS — of those that were monitored — could be present in nearly half of the tap water in the U.S.,” lead author Kelly Smalling, a research hydrologist, said in a press release.

PFAS are a group of chemicals created to coat products to resist heat, oil, stains, grease, and water. Such chemicals are colorless, odorless, and tasteless and can be found in a variety of products, including adhesives, cookware, and food packaging such as pizza boxes and microwave popcorn bags.

The chemicals have been linked to issues with growth and development, obesity, reproduction, and the immune system, as well as increased risk of preeclampsia, and kidney and testicular cancer. (Read more from “Harmful Chemicals Found in Nearly Half of U.S. Tap Water: Study” HERE)

Transgender Writer, Bookstore Sue Over Montana Law Banning Drag Reading Events

A transgender woman, the owners of an independent bookstore and an educator who teaches in costume are among those challenging Montana’s first-in-the-nation law that bans people dressed in drag from reading to children in public schools or libraries.

The federal lawsuit filed Thursday in Butte argues the law violates the free speech and equal protection guarantees in the U.S. Constitution.

The plaintiffs seek an injunction to temporarily block the law, a ruling that the law is unconstitutional and damages for Adria Jawort, whose planned talk on LGBTQ+ history at the Butte-Silver Bow Public Library was canceled in early June by county officials who cited the new legislation. White House Cocaine Scandal Cover-Up: Despite Extensive Surveillance Systems, “Culprit Will Never be Caught”; Trump’s Security Tapes Would ‘Quickly’ Find Cocaine Smuggler; Had to be Biden Family Member

By Politico. Law enforcement officials confirmed on Wednesday that cocaine was found at the White House over the weekend.

But one official familiar with the investigation cautioned that the source of the drug was unlikely to be determined given that it was discovered in a highly trafficked area of the West Wing.

Asked what the chances were of finding the culprit, the official said that “it’s gonna be very difficult for us to do that because of where it was.”

“Even if there were surveillance cameras, unless you were waving it around, it may not have been caught” by the cameras, added the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity given that it’s an ongoing investigation. “It’s a bit of a thoroughfare. People walk by there all the time.” (Read more from “Press Already Covering for White House Cocaine Scandal: Despite Extensive Surveillance Systems, “Culprit Will Never Be Caught” HERE)

Donald Trump: Security Tapes Would ‘Quickly’ Find White House Cocaine Smuggler

By Breitbart. Former President Donald Trump said the security tapes would “quickly” reveal who smuggled cocaine into President Joe Biden’s White House after the drug was reportedly found in the West Wing.

Over the weekend, a substance was found inside the White House that reportedly tested positive for cocaine. . .

In response, Trump predicted the “Fake News Media” will downplay the substance’s finding.

“Does anybody really believe that the COCAINE found in the West Wing of the White House, very close to the Oval Office, is for the use of anyone other than Hunter & Joe Biden,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “But watch, the Fake News Media will soon start saying that the amount found was “very small,” & it wasn’t really COCAINE, but rather common ground up Aspirin, & the story will vanish.” . . .

“Has Deranged Jack Smith, the crazy, Trump hating Special Prosecutor, been seen in the area of the COCAINE?” Trump asked. “He looks like a crackhead to me!” (Read more from “Donald Trump: Security Tapes Would ‘Quickly’ Find White House Cocaine Smuggler” HERE)

‘Zero Chance Anyone Other Than A Family Member Brought That Cocaine Inside The White House’: Former Secret Service Agent

By Dave Malyon. Former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino expressed his opinion on Twitter, stating, “There’s absolutely ZERO chance anyone other than a family member brought that cocaine inside the White House complex.

“No chance that would make it past the mag/security checkpoints. Family bypasses those.”

When asked for the White House’s official stance on the matter, Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre confirmed that President Biden was informed and emphasized that the area where the cocaine was discovered is heavily trafficked by visitors.

She also stated that all White House staff would be tested if necessary, indicating a commitment to identifying any individuals involved.

As Knewz reported previously, the substance, found in a zip-close bag, was located near an entrance where visitors are required to leave their phones. The latter, however, conflicts with the earlier reports that the sachet of white powder was found in the White House library. (Read more from this story HERE)
