Major left-wing organizations and donors have thrown their support and funding behind a coalition slamming a recent Supreme Court case that could rein in the administrative state as an anti-democratic “power grab by the MAGA supermajority.”

United for Democracy, a coalition that includes over a hundred left-wing organizations, launched earlier this year with a $1 million ad campaign warning voters that “extreme right-wing justices are exploiting their power” and urging them to back court reform. The coalition’s member organizations include a who’s who of left-wing organizations, including Planned Parenthood, March for Our Lives, the National Education Association and NARAL Pro-Choice America, among others.

At a rally outside the Supreme Court last week, the coalition opposed the lawsuit brought by small fishing companies who challenged an agency rule that forces them to shell out close to 20% of their revenue to pay for federally mandated on-board observers. Many of the member groups painted the Loper Bright Enterprises v. Raimondo and Relentless, Inc. v. Department of Commerce cases, which challenge a decades-old legal principle instructing courts to defer to agency interpretations of laws or “Chevron deference,” as a right-wing donor-funded power grab and a “threat to democracy.”

“United for Democracy is comprised of over hundred left-wing dark money groups that are eager for unelected and unaccountable administrative agencies to continue to do their deep state bidding,” JCN President Carrie Severino told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “It’s not surprising these groups are very motivated to keep Chevron deference, which gives federal agencies significant power to advance the Left’s political agenda.”

Fani Willis’ Alleged Romantic Partner Moves to Reseal Parts of Divorce Case

Nathan Wade, special prosecutor on the racketeering case against former President Donald Trump and Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’ alleged romantic partner, recently moved to reseal personal and confidential information in his divorce case.

Documents in the case have been sealed since February 2022, but Cobb County Superior Court Judge Henry Thompson unsealed them after a hearing last week, agreeing that the protective order “was not properly entered.” Bank statements contained in a recent filing Wade’s wife made revealed he had purchased tickets in Willis’ name to Miami and San Francisco, offering some support for allegations brought by a Trump co-defendant that Willis benefited from the “lucrative” contract she awarded Wade when he took her on vacations and trips.

Wade’s filing dated Jan. 24 asked the case be resealed due to the “sensitive nature of the parties’ financial information and documents.” “The clear intention of the parties was to have the case sealed and any information filed in the case protected,” his attorney wrote.

The next hearing in the divorce case is scheduled for Wednesday. Wade will likely “be forced to provide more answers to questions about both his conduct and his finances,” his wife’s attorneys told Atlanta News First. Lead Republican Negotiator on Border Deal Censured by Home State GOP

The Oklahoma senator leading negotiations on behalf of Republicans for a southern border security deal with Democrats has been condemned and censured by his home state GOP for his bipartisan work.

The Oklahoma Republican Party passed a resolution Saturday evening calling on Sen. James Lankford to “cease and desist jeopardizing the security and liberty of the people of Oklahoma and of these United States,” based on leaked portions of the talks.

“Until Senator Lankford ceases from these actions, the Oklahoma Republican Party will cease all support for him,” the resolution states. “Senator Lankford playing fast and loose with Democrats on our border policy not only disenfranchises legal immigrants seeking citizenship but it also puts the safety and security of Americans in great danger.” . . .

The emerging deal, which would be attached to a $110 billion national security package with aid for Israel and Ukraine, is on life support.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, Kentucky Republican, has cast doubt on its political viability because of former President Donald Trump’s opposition, and House Speaker Mike Johnson has said it’s “dead on arrival” in his chamber. Opponents say passing it would give President Biden a political victory in an election year on a major issue for voters that he caused. Airlines Launch Taylor Swift-Themed Flights to Super Bowl LVIII

As the excitement builds for Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas, airlines are taking a creative approach to cater to fans, especially those of pop sensation Taylor Swift and the victorious Kansas City Chiefs. Following the Chiefs’ triumphant 17-10 victory over the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship, American Airlines and United Airlines have introduced Taylor Swift-themed flights for the big game.

American Airlines is offering flights from Kansas City to Las Vegas on Feb. 9 and Feb. 10 with the unique flight number 1989. The number is a nod to Taylor Swift’s birth year and her highly successful album “1989.” The return flights from Vegas to Kansas City on Feb. 12, just hours after the Super Bowl concludes, carry the flight number AA87, matching the jersey number of Chiefs’ tight end Travis Kelce.

Adding to the musical touchdown, American Airlines has also incorporated flights 1521 on the morning of the Super Bowl, connecting Kansas City to Vegas. This flight number pays homage to Chiefs’ star quarterback Patrick Mahomes (number 15) and safety Mike Edwards (number 21), as reported by People magazine.

United Airlines has joined the fanfare by announcing Swift-themed flights as well. Flights UA 1989 and UA 2287 are featured with references to Taylor Swift’s birth year, Travis Kelce’s jersey number (87), and the singer’s hit song “22.” United Airlines has also included a nod to Patrick Mahomes with flight UA 1587.

In response to this innovative initiative, an American Airlines spokesperson shared, “You could say that after last night’s games, we are in our football era, and we are thrilled to provide direct flights from Kansas City to Las Vegas. To our customers who are huge sports fans, look what you made us do,” cleverly referencing Taylor Swift’s songs.

United Airlines expressed enthusiasm about these special flights, emphasizing that they will provide direct connections for over 1,000 Kansas City fans to cheer on the Chiefs in Las Vegas. The airline has expanded its Super Bowl schedule, offering more than 40 special flights to assist an additional 14,000 fans across the country in reaching the highly anticipated game.

With the Chiefs set to face the San Francisco 49ers in the grand showdown at Allegiant Stadium on Feb. 11, this Super Bowl marks a historic moment for Las Vegas as it hosts the event for the first time.

Man Who Leaked Trump Tax Returns Sentenced to 5 Years in Prison

A former IRS contractor who leaked the tax returns of several wealthy and powerful individuals, including former President Donald Trump, was sentenced to five years in prison this week.

The U.S. Department of Justice announced criminal charges last September against 38-year-old Charles Edward Littlejohn, who was a contractor with the IRS from 2018 to 2020. Littlejohn pled guilty in October 2023 to unauthorized disclosure of tax returns and return information.

As a government contractor, Littlejohn “stole” Trump’s tax return information, the DOJ said on Monday, adding that he took steps to conceal his activities so he wouldn’t get caught. He also stole the tax return information of thousands of America’s wealthiest individuals, including figures like Jeff Bezos.

Three Georgia Soldiers Identified in Jordan Attack

The Pentagon has officially released the identities of the three service members who tragically lost their lives in the drone attack in Jordan on Sunday. The fallen soldiers hailed from Georgia, and their names have been solemnly revealed: Sgt. William Jerome Rivers, 46, of Carrollton; Spc. Kennedy Ladon Sanders, 24, of Waycross; and Spc. Breonna Alexsondria Moffett, 23, of Savannah.

These brave soldiers met their untimely end when a drone struck their housing unit, known as a container housing unit (CHU). All three were assigned to the 718th Engineer Company, 926th Engineer Battalion, 926th Engineer Brigade, Fort Moore, Georgia.

Spc. Kennedy Ladon Sanders, affectionately known as “Munchkin,” was just 24 years old. The attack also left at least 34 others injured. Flags in Waycross, Sanders’s hometown, were flown at half-staff in a somber tribute. Mayor Michael-Angelo James plans to hold an honorary service upon her return.

Sanders’s father, Shawn Sanders, expressed gratitude on Facebook, saying, “Our family would like to thank you for the respect given to Kennedy. Munchkin will be missed by many.” Sanders’s mother, Oneida Oliver-Sanders, shared her grief, stating, “I just can’t believe I’ll never be able to hug and kiss my baby again. Life is so unfair. I just want my baby.”

Breonna Alexsondria Moffett’s mother, in a heartfelt Facebook post, conveyed the profound sadness of losing her firstborn. She wrote, “This is one of the saddest days of my life. With a heavy heart, I have to say that my Angel, my firstborn, has gone on to be with GOD today.” She continued, expressing the enduring pain of losing her daughter and the irreplaceable void in her life.

The tragic incident occurred at a remote logistics base in northeastern Jordan, near the border with Syria. An Iran-backed militia claimed responsibility for the drone attack, marking the first time such groups have successfully targeted and killed U.S. forces. The militia groups, responsible for more than 160 attacks against U.S. troops since October 7, have faced retaliatory strikes from the Biden administration, primarily targeting infrastructure rather than militants.

Turning Point Action Identifies 4.5 Million ‘Disengaged’ GOP Voters Across 10 Battleground States

Turning Point Action, the political arm of conservative movement leader Charlie Kirk’s Turning Point USA, has identified more than 4.5 million so-called “disengaged” Republican voters in several battleground states around the country, enough to more than swing the 2024 presidential election’s results from 2020.

The group is holding its first-ever Restoring National Confidence event at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip on Monday and Tuesday, flying in county GOP chairs from 75 of the top 100 battleground counties across the country. The event—contrasting the Republican National Committee (RNC) winter meetings, which will happen from January 30 to February 3 in the same city—is designed, as Breitbart News has reported, to show things the event organizers, which include some of the 168 members of the RNC, should be doing. The counter event’s name—Restoring National Confidence—even trolls the RNC with the same acronym as the national Republican Party committee.

“It’s a turnout game,” Kirk, who leads Turning Point, told Breitbart News. “It’s the exact opposite of what people would have believed. I’m very, very focused and have been for quite some time and will continue to be on these numbers. I believe it’s all going to come down to three states. Trump is going to win Iowa. He’ll win Ohio. He’ll win North Carolina by a little bit—it’s not going to be a blowout. He’ll win Florida by a million votes, so I don’t think Trump should even actively campaign in Iowa, Ohio, and Florida. It’s got to be all in on Arizona, Georgia, and Wisconsin. Georgia, I’m feeling better and better about. Republicans are really coming home. They’re outpacing Democrats 1.5 to one in voter registration. Arizona, I think we’re beginning to get our act together. We’re headquartered there. We have a great new state party chair who really knows what she’s doing. Wisconsin, I’m worried about. The problem is, when I talk to some of these people, they say, ‘Oh my goodness, maybe Pennsylvania.’ I’m not that bullish on Pennsylvania. It’s a big state. If Pennsylvania falls, that means Wisconsin also falls. Look, it’s a turnout election. I really believe that, and it comes down to: Can we really turn out another 50,000 to 60,000 more Republican voters?”

Interestingly, here on Monday morning, the county-level GOP chairs from around the nation were provided with binders that include precinct-specific data in their counties as well as state-level data on what Turning Point Action’s Tyler Bowyer—also the Republican National Committeeman from Arizona—has deemed “low propensity GOP voters.” The definition, loosely applied, is basically voters who have been identified as likely to vote for the Republican for president who did not vote in the 2016 or 2020 presidential elections. Republicans Condemn Biden Over U.S. Troop Deaths in Jordan, Call for Retaliation Against Iran

In response to the tragic drone attack that claimed the lives of three U.S. service members and left 25 others injured in Jordan, Republicans have launched a scathing critique against President Joe Biden, accusing him of leaving American troops vulnerable and demanding immediate action against Iran.

Senator Tom Cotton, a vocal critic of Biden’s foreign policy, asserted that the President’s lenient approach towards Iran had emboldened the nation, leading to attacks on American troops. “He left our troops as sitting ducks, and now three are dead and dozens wounded, sadly as I’ve predicted would happen for months,” Cotton stated.

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) echoed Cotton’s comments, declaring that the Biden administration’s policy of deterrence against Iran had failed miserably. “There have been over 100 attacks against U.S. forces in the region. Iran is undeterred,” Graham remarked, expressing condolences to the families of the fallen heroes and wishing a full recovery to those injured.

The attack on a military base in northeast Jordan, near the Syria border, marked the first instance of U.S. troops being killed in such a manner in recent months. Since mid-October, there have been more than 150 attacks against U.S. troops in Iraq and Syria, with the situation escalating after Hamas’s terrorist attack in Israel on October 7, which claimed over 1,200 lives.

Both Senators Cotton and Graham, military veterans themselves, called for decisive retaliation. Graham urged President Biden to strike significant targets inside Iran, not only as reprisal but as a deterrent against future aggression. “The only thing the Iranian regime understands is force. Until they pay a price with their infrastructure and personnel, the attacks on U.S. troops will continue,” he emphasized.

Senator Cotton went further, advocating for “devastating military retaliation” against “Iran’s terrorist forces” both in Iran and across the Middle East.

Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) joined the call for retaliation, succinctly stating, “Target Tehran.” Representative Mike Waltz labeled the incident as tragic and preventable, attributing it to Biden’s appeasement strategy towards Iran.

Trump on U.S. Soldiers Killed: ‘Tragic Consequence of Joe Biden’s Weakness and Surrender’

Former President Donald Trump ripped President Joe Biden on Sunday after the administration announced that three U.S. service members were murdered and dozens more were injured in a terrorist attack carried out by Iranian-backed terrorists in the region. . .

“The drone attack on a U.S. Military Installation in Jordan, killing 3 American Servicemembers, and wounding many more, marks a horrible day for America,” Trump said. “My most profound sympathies go to the Families of the Brave Servicemembers we have lost. I ask all Americans to join me in praying for those who have been wounded. This brazen attack on the United States is yet another horrific and tragic consequence of Joe Biden’s weakness and surrender.” . . .

“Thanks to my Maximum Pressure policy, the Iranian Regime could barely scrape two dollars together to fund their terrorist proxies,” he said. “Then Joe Biden came in and gave Iran billions of dollars, which the Regime has used to spread bloodshed and carnage throughout the Middle East. Report: VA Documents Reveal Plans to Intensify Gender Transition Surgeries

A Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) facility in Seattle, Washington, is facing scrutiny as documents obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation reveal a significant push to expand gender transition surgeries. The VA medical center at Puget Sound reportedly requested over half a million dollars for the establishment of a Comprehensive Gender Affirming Surgical Center (CGASC) in fiscal year 2023.

While the facility has been providing hormone therapy, minor surgeries, and other gender-related treatments for decades, the latest proposals indicate a shift towards major surgeries for gender transition. The documents outline plans to hire staff, including plastic surgeons, urologists, nurses, psychiatrists, and psychologists, for the CGASC.

The controversy comes at a time when the VA has yet to implement a proposal announced in 2021 to expand coverage for transgender procedures, including major surgeries. An advocacy group recently sued the VA over the delay in implementing the rule, arguing that the delay deprives an estimated 4,000 veterans of “life-saving” services related to major sex change procedures.

The VA’s medical plan already covers various transgender treatments, including hormones and prosthetics. The current proposals from Puget Sound seek funding for equipment specific to gender transition surgeries, such as laser hair removal machines. This disturbing focus on genital mutilating procedures diverts resources from essential healthcare services for veterans.

Additionally, complications are arising from major sex change operations, with discussions among VA and Seattle Children’s Hospital staff addressing ways to handle complications and the need for additional resources.

Conservative critics, including some within the VA, have voiced reservations about the injection of “gender ideology” into clinical work. In a recent article published in The Hill, three VA professionals criticized transgender accommodations, claiming they undermine protections for female veterans and raise questions about the prioritization of certain medical procedures.
