Lindsay Clancy-Style Horror Stories Pile Up As Moms Turn On Their Own Children
Numerous stories involving mothers accused of attacking or killing their own children have emerged in the weeks surrounding the Lindsay Clancy trial.
Clancy’s trial made waves, prompting public support for the mother who strangled her three children — ages five, three, and eight months old — using exercise bands. Clancy’s defense argued the killings resulted from her postpartum psychosis, drawing the attention of many women across the country.
While many found the compassion for Clancy shocking, an even more disturbing string of cases involving mothers accused of attacking or killing their children has emerged.
In the days leading up to the verdict in Clancy’s trial, an Illinois woman named Corie Walsh was accused of killing her two-year-old son after law enforcement discovered him hanging in the basement of their home. . .
Tragically, Walsh’s case was not an isolated incident.
A Texas woman is currently facing charges of attempted murder after she allegedly stabbed her husband and her two young children. Holly Leeann Flores was detained after her husband called 911, saying his wife had stabbed him in the head. The couple’s three-year-old daughter and 10-month-old son were also discovered with stab wounds to their chests.
Flores’ husband reportedly told investigators she had been suffering from postpartum depression.
A South Carolina woman, Taylor Gosnell, was similarly charged with attempted murder for allegedly stabbing her six-year-old and three-year-old children. Law enforcement responded to a welfare check at Gosnell’s home where they found the children with more than 50 stab wounds combined.
