A former Palm Beach police chief who investigated Jeffrey Epstein in the mid-2000s reportedly received a call from Donald Trump expressing relief over the investigation, according to an FBI account of a 2019 interview with the ex-police chief.

Trump said, “Thank goodness you’re stopping him,” according to the FBI account.

The police chief’s name is redacted from the document on the Department of Justice’s website, but the information in the FBI statement aligns with Michael Reiter’s role in the investigation that began in 2005.
