The Absurdity of Republican Resistance to Abortion

The Republican Party has used the prolife vote for decades now, and with the exception of Donald Trump’s judicial appointments, has given very little reason to expect prolife voters to continue to support the GOP. This realization is dawning on many lifelong conservatives and Republicans. Let us look at the local level, here in Alaska.

We still find the same shopworn solutions to abortion in Alaska are being offered and are nothing more than dead-ends. This is true even from some of the allegedly prolife support groups, who dutifully warn how bad things will be if prolife elected officials are not supported. The mindless logic goes like this:

“The courts have ruled that abortion is a privacy right. We must change the courts! Or, we must have a constitutional amendment. Or we must nibble at the edges, wherein the courts permit certain restrictions. That’s all we can do for now.”

Alaska legalized abortion in 1970, three full years before Roe v. Wade … which also struck down the restrictions Alaska had in place, such as parental permission, gestation limits and so forth. This law was passed for several reasons, one of which was a libertine view of sexuality that has ever permeated frontier areas, but also because as a new state, misguided legislators wanted Alaska to be seen as “progressive”.

The law was vetoed by Gov. Keith Miller, which was quickly and easily overridden. But let us review the constitutional options that have never been exercised and are still in place.

For starters, the first breath of the state constitution reads as follows: “This constitution is dedicated to the principles that all persons have a natural right to life …”

So — what on earth do we need a constitutional amendment for? Who says that unborn persons are not persons? It was certainly accepted in 1955, when the constitutional convention met, and also in 1958 when the people approved statehood and the state constitution.

And it still is today when a woman is assaulted or murdered while carrying an unborn child. But the evil courts and their case law have decided, on their own warped authority, that the unborn child is protected only if it is “wanted”, or some such illogical nonsense.

It seems impossible, but let us suppose that we had a conservative state supreme court. It could have immediately declared the 1970 abortion legalization law as unconstitutional, citing Article I, Section 1, quoted above.

OK, so we didn’t have a conservative state court, either then or now. But we did have a prolife governor, who vetoed the law. But then, it was constitutionally overridden.

Let’s play a hypothetical game: suppose the legislature and/or courts declared that Alaskan natives, Jews or other minorities were not fully human, or “persons” before the law. Then, vetoed by a governor, then the veto overridden.

Let’s check out Article III, Sec. 16: “[The governor] may, by appropriate court action or proceeding brought in the name of the state, enforce compliance with any constitutional or legislative mandate, or restrain violation of any constitutional or legislative power, duty, or right by any officer, department or agency of the state or any of its political subdivisions. This authority shall not be construed to authorize any action or proceeding against the legislature.”

You will notice that it does not say the judiciary. The fiction that we have “three co-equal branches of government” is once again shattered with that omission. The legislature has ever been considered superior over the executive and judicial branches, on both the state and federal levels. But they can make mistakes, too, just like the other branches. And enforcement is not within their purview, it is with the executive.

So, Keith Miller might have invoked this section, refusing to allow such a hypothetically hideous law in Alaska. Yes, we would have had a constitutional crisis. Yes, they might have impeached him for it. You do not need any legal grounds for impeachment anyway, it can be trumped up on any pretense. But Miller would have had the constitution on his side, for everyone admits that this section gives Alaska’s governors a power not found in most other states.

Now Alaskan natives, Jews and other minorities enjoy sympathy and privilege in this state, so the given example would not happen, at least in the current culture. But we do have a culture that does not see the unwanted/unborn as enjoying such protections. It is, of course, utterly arbitrary, as we have seen in regards to the death of an unborn child that is “wanted”. It is also selfish, brutal, stone-hearted, unconstitutional, and — this really infuriates the Left — utterly unscientific.

Miller lacked the full knowledge of the constitutional powers he possessed, or determined that it would be a fight not worth engaging. With the abdication of the battlefield, the Left has been emboldened to even more preposterous unconstitutional actions in the decades that have followed.

We can start with the right to privacy, enacted in 1972 for the sake of our personal electronic data being protected at the dawn of the computer age. The amendment was wisely written in anticipation of what we are now seeing, and if you haven’t noticed, it is utterly ineffective for the purpose in which it was approved.

But things get even worse: the understanding that the judiciary was often an enemy of constitutions was fully anticipated, so the amendment further reads, “The legislature shall implement this section.”

Yet, the judiciary has gotten away with impeachable offenses by deciding that they will define, and hence “implement”, what privacy means. And, naturally, abortion quickly became its pet to protect at all costs. From there, it was an easy bridge to cross when “privacy” meant, by their case law reasoning, to extend to public funding of abortion.

They apparently were not concerned at all with the privacy of individual citizens’ consciences, or their purse.

All the while, allegedly prolife governors such as Hickel, Palin, Parnell and Dunleavy, and allegedly prolife legislative majorities in the past, have dutifully tried to end this constitutional overthrow by following supposedly “constitutional” boundaries the judiciary invented — only to find that, after time-consuming hearings and testimony … Ta Da! … the goalposts were moved further back, negating all efforts.

We see that the arrogance of the judiciary now extends into new areas that have nothing to do with abortion, such as usurping the powers of grand juries. But the timorous, allegedly conservative legislators have done little or nothing to stop this.

Except, of course, David Eastman, who is universally detested for not being a “team player”. But Eastman never votes or acts without first asking, “Is this constitutional?” His fellow colleagues, who take the same oath, rely upon the judiciary to let them know what “constitutional” means, as if they are too ignorant or uneducated to think for themselves.

Many likely secretly agree with him, but they don’t dare cross over to his side, for fear of being “Eastmanized” by their colleagues, the media and the bureaucracy. Thus, their oath to support both the state and federal constitutions is turned over to the very people — the judiciary and the bureaucrats — that they use as a way to gain the votes and trust of their conservative constituents, to effect a change that both they and their Leftist enemies, know will never occur.

It’s a squirrel cage.

Alaska Airlines: Where ‘Inclusion’ Takes Flight, and Safety Takes a Backseat

In recent tweets, the airline industry has once again become a battleground for the ongoing debate surrounding diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives. Alaska Air, a major airline, has found itself under the spotlight for its apparent emphasis on diversity, with tweets suggesting that the company is making strides to diversify its flights and promote inclusivity.

One tweet from Libs of TikTok highlights Alaska Air’s focus on diversity and inclusion, portraying their planes as “gay” and featuring drag queen flight attendants. While leftists celebrate efforts to foster a more inclusive environment, concerns arise about whether the airline is prioritizing ridiculous diversity initiatives at the expense of other crucial aspects of its operations, including safety measures.

In a follow-up tweet, it’s revealed that Alaska Air’s training program includes a pledge to support DEI and be an ally. The training reportedly categorizes “misgendering” and “micro-aggressions” as forms of harassment. While the airline encourages employees to use preferred pronouns, the juxtaposition with incidents like doors falling off planes mid-flight raises questions about the airline’s priorities. Are employees sufficiently trained to handle critical safety matters, or is the focus primarily on political correctness?

One can’t help but wonder if the airline’s commitment to DEI might be affecting its overall efficiency and safety standards.

FBI Diverts Resources from Child Pornography Investigation to Jan. 6, Resulting in Alleged Child Molestation: A Disturbing Unraveling of Priorities Revealed

In a shocking revelation reported by The Daily Wire, the FBI’s decision to shift resources from a critical child pornography investigation in Virginia to focus on the aftermath of the January 6 events at the U.S. Capitol has led to disturbing consequences. The suspect, Brogan Welsh, who was initially under investigation for engaging in explicit conversations about sexual acts with a 9-year-old boy, was inexplicably spared further scrutiny due to the FBI’s redirection of efforts.

Despite the existence of incriminating evidence, including a video depicting the abuse of a prepubescent minor, the FBI’s Washington Field Office halted the investigation on January 6, 2021. This decision, as revealed by court documents, ultimately allowed Welsh to relocate to Alaska, where he is now accused of engaging in sex acts with a 10-year-old boy. The report underscores the severe consequences of diverting attention away from cases of child exploitation in favor of high-profile events.

The FBI’s acknowledgment that resources were diverted in the aftermath of January 6 raises critical questions about the prioritization of investigations. While the agency asserts its commitment to pursuing crimes against children, the case of Brogan Welsh highlights the potential dangers of sidelining ongoing investigations with substantial evidence. The admission that a case was dropped is a rare occurrence, shedding light on the trade-offs made during a tumultuous period in the nation’s history.

Moreover, this disturbing revelation prompts a broader examination of the impact on criminal prosecutions in Washington, D.C. The focus on prosecuting individuals involved in the Capitol breach has coincided with a concerning trend in the U.S. Attorney’s office for the District of Columbia choosing not to prosecute a growing percentage of cases brought forward by local law enforcement. This shift in priorities, as indicated by Department of Justice data, has resulted in a significant increase in individuals going free without facing charges.

As the report delves into the statistics, a disconcerting pattern emerges: the decline in prosecution rates aligns with a surge in violent crime in Washington, D.C. The rise in homicides and carjackings, coupled with an increase in overall violent crime, paints a grim picture of deteriorating safety in the nation’s capital. The narrative suggests a potential correlation between the allocation of prosecutorial resources and the worsening crime situation, urging a critical examination of law enforcement priorities to ensure the safety and well-being of the community.

Alaska Airline Pilot Hit With Attempted Murder Says He Took Mushrooms Before Flight

The off-duty pilot accused of attempted murder for trying to cut off engines for an Alaska Airlines flight told investigators he took “magic mushrooms” and thought pulling the handles to cut off the flight’s fuel would cause him to “wake up” from a dream.

State court records obtained by CNN show that Joseph Emerson, 44, told law enforcement that he “had consumed ‘magic mushrooms’ approximately 48 hours prior to the incident on the plane.” He also said he had been awake for the last 40 hours, according to a federal court document.

One of the pilots “grabbed Emerson’s wrists and (the other pilot) reported that they wrestled with Emerson for a few seconds before Emerson stopped and said he was okay,” the documents read, adding that, “Emerson was not able to pull the handles all the way down before the pilots intervened.”

Emerson had experienced depression and the recent death of a friend, according to the documents. He told investigators he was having a nervous breakdown and told the flight crew he needed to be subdued, according to a separate federal criminal complaint. Alaska Airlines Murder Attempt: Pilot Charged With 83 Counts After Allegedly Attempting to Crash Plane; Are Mushrooms to Blame?

An off-duty pilot allegedly tried to shut off the engines on an Alaska Airlines plane while it was on its way to San Francisco, police said.

The plane on Flight 2059 was travelling from Everett, Washington, but had to be diverted to Portland, Oregon, after the incident.

Horizon Air, a subsidiary of Alaska Airlines, said the presence of a “credible threat” in the jump seat of the cockpit’s flight deck.

“The jump seat occupant unsuccessfully attempted to disrupt the operation of the engines,” read a statement from the airline. “The Horizon Captain and First Officer quickly responded, engine power was not lost and the crew secured the aircraft without incident.” (Read more from “Alaska Airlines Murder Attempt: Pilot Charged With 83 Counts After Allegedly Attempting to Crash Plane” HERE)

STD’s Exploding Across U.S., ESP. Alaska; Here’s Where the Rates Are the Highest

By New York Post. The US is in the midst of an “out of control” STD epidemic, with cases of syphilis, gonorrhea and chlamydia on the rise nationwide.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says gonorrhea cases spiked by 28% across the country in 2021, while total syphilis cases soared by a staggering 74%.

However, not all American areas are experiencing the same rates of infection, with a new data breakdown by US News & World Report revealing the 10 states with the highest sexually transmitted disease rates. . .

Seven of the 10 states with the highest rates were located below the Mason-Dixon line, including North Carolina, which clocked in 10th, with a total STD rate of 922.2 per 100,000 residents. . .

Alaska was in the third spot, largely due to sky-high rates of chlamydia cases, with the data showing 760.4 per 100,000 residents received positive results after testing for the infection in 2021. STD Rates Skyrocketing Among Certain Minorities

By US News. Rates and cases of major sexually transmitted diseases in the U.S. have been increasing largely unabated, with more than 2.5 million cases of chlamydia, syphilis and gonorrhea reported in 2021, the most recent year for which data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is available.

That amounts to a combined rate of 762.7 cases per 100,000 people in the 50 states and the District of Columbia, an increase of 6% over 2020’s rate of 721.6 per 100,000, according to a U.S. News analysis of the data. Between 2020 and 2021, the rate of total syphilis cases in the U.S. – including all stages of the infection, congenital syphilis and syphilitic stillbirth – rose by 32%, CDC figures show. The rate of chlamydia cases increased 4%, while the rate of gonorrhea infections rose 5% over the same period.

Officials have expressed particular concern about a rise in congenital syphilis, which occurs when a mother passes a syphilis infection to her baby while pregnant and can result in the infant’s death. The rate of congenital syphilis cases rose by nearly 30% between 2020 and 2021, while the nearly 3,000 cases of the disease in 2021 marked a more than 750% increase since 2012.

By race and ethnicity, CDC data shows the rate of chlamydia infections in 2021 was highest among Black individuals at 1,081.9 cases per 100,000, while Asians had the lowest rate at 95.7 per 100,000. Black individuals also had the highest rate of reported gonorrhea cases in 2021 at 652.9 infections per 100,000 people, while Asians had the lowest rate at 37.8 per 100,000. American Indian and Alaska Native people had the highest rate of primary and secondary syphilis cases in 2021, at 46.7 per 100,000. The rate of congenital syphilis also was highest in connection with American Indian and Alaska Native mothers in 2021, at 384.5 cases per 100,000 live births. Fabricator-In-Chief: Falsely Claims He Was at Ground Zero the Day After 9/11 During Alaska Visit

President Joe Biden falsely claimed he visited Ground Zero in New York City the day after the World Trade Centers were hit and collapsed, marking the 22nd anniversary of the September 11, 2001, Islamic terrorist attacks on the United States.

During remarks at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska, Biden gave a speech to American troops in which he claimed to have been at Ground Zero in New York City on September 12, 2001.

“Ground Zero, New York. I remember standing there the next day and looking at the building,” Biden said. “I felt like I was looking through the gates of hell; it looked so devastated because of…where you could stand.”

In reality, though, Biden was in the U.S. Senate alongside his colleagues on September 12, 2001, and gave a ten-minute floor speech regarding the terrorist attacks. Biden’s first known visit to Ground Zero was on September 20, 2001, when he joined a delegation of senators on a tour of the attack’s aftermath.

“Some have said, yesterday and today, that all has changed for America,” Biden said during his floor speech in 2001. “I know what they mean by that … but I pray that is not true … the one thing we cannot allow to change are the values upon which this country is built, for if that were to occur, then they would be able to declare victory.” (Read more from “Fabricator-In-Chief: Falsely Claims He Was at Ground Zero the Day After 9/11 During Alaska Visit” HERE)

Mysterious Golden Specimen Discovered 2 Miles Underwater

A team of deep sea explorers visiting an extinct volcano found something resembling a golden egg 250 miles off the coast of southern Alaska.

The discovery was made Wednesday, Aug. 30, as a NOAA Ocean Exploration team recorded video in “the deep abyssal depths of the Gulf of Alaska.”

There, at a depth of about 2 miles, sat a shiny golden orb — with a perplexing hole in it.

“Something tried to get in … or to get out,” one researcher observed in a live feed.

In the debate that followed, the team made funny references to everything from the X-Files to classic monster movies. It was ultimately decided a sample of the orb was needed to examine its DNA. (Read more from “Mysterious Golden Specimen Discovered 2 Miles Underwater” HERE)

Chinese Nationals Posing as Tourists Breached US Military Bases and Other Sites, Raising Espionage Concerns: Report

Chinese nationals, sometimes posing as tourists, accessed United States military bases and other sensitive locations up to 100 times in recent years, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The outlet reported that the incidents have raised espionage concerns among U.S. officials. These trespassers, referred to as gate-crashers, have accessed sensitive sites, either accidentally or intentionally, without proper authorization. . .

Some of these incidents included Chinese nationals breaching a missile range in New Mexico and scuba divers exploring a new rocket launch site in Florida. Other trespassing cases involved people following Google Maps directions to the nearest fast-food restaurant, which happened to be on a military base.

Officials also told the WSJ about a group of Chinese nationals who claimed to be tourists and insisted they had reservations at a hotel located on the Fort Wainwright military base in Alaska. The group attempted to push past security guards to access the site. . .

Chinese nationals have also accessed sensitive areas of the White House, taking photographs of the property, positions of Secret Services, and communications gear. Alaska Governor Endorses Trump for President

Republican Alaska Gov. Mike Dunleavy has endorsed former President Donald Trump for the 2024 nomination, becoming the third GOP governor to back him.

News of Dunleavy’s endorsement came from Politico, and it will give the former president crucial support in a state that will “hold its nominating contest on the all-important ‘Super Tuesday’ primary date”:

The endorsement comes as Trump expands his broad lead in support from Republican governors and federal lawmakers over his rivals in the GOP presidential primary. With Dunleavy’s backing, Trump has earned the support of three of the five Republican governors who have endorsed in the race. Trump has also received the support of over 80 members of Congress, more than 16 times the amount of his nearest rival, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

The former president has been aggressively courting the support of prospective endorsees; he recently spoke by phone with Dunleavy, whose state is expected to hold its primary on March 5, 2024, the same day that over a dozen states are expected to hold their nominating contests.

The former president previously endorsed Dunleavy three times in his bid for governor, including in 2022 when he faced a recall attempt. The Trump campaign will reportedly release a video on Tuesday thanking the governor for the endorsement. (Read more from “Alaska Governor Endorses Trump for President” HERE)
