Miller: Murkowski Trying To Rig Debate Schedule

Anchorage, Alaska. September 26, 2016 — U.S. Senate candidate Joe Miller called out Lisa Murkowski on Monday following the release of her “debate” schedule, saying she is hiding from the people of Alaska and the media.

Murkowski stated that she plans to participate in four debates in the lead up to the election: Oct. 12 – Senate Fisheries Debate, hosted by Kodiak Chamber of Commerce; Oct. 21 – Alaska Federation of Natives’ Candidate Forum in Fairbanks; Oct. 26 – Senate Debate on the Arctic, hosted by Iñuit Arctic Business Alliance (IABA) in Barrow; Nov. 3 – Debate for the State, hosted by Alaska Public Media in Anchorage.

Only one of those debates will be televised statewide, the Public Television debate, which takes place just five days before the election, well after early voting and absentee ballot voting are underway.

“There she goes again, trying to rig the game,” said Miller. “Senator Murkowski’s objective is clear: avoid answering tough questions and deprive Alaskan voters of an informed choice.”

During the general election of 2010, Miller appeared in multiple debates with Murkowski, though her name did not even appear on the ballot, including on the state’s most watched news station, the NBC affiliate KTUU.

KTUU, which garners over 80 percent of the news viewing audience in Alaska, wants to host a debate this time, even offering to pre-record it, but Murkowski apparently stonewalled the station.

It also should be noted the commercial fishing industry, the Alaska Federation of Natives, and the Iñuit Arctic Business Alliance all backed Murkowski strongly in 2010, both directly and indirectly.

“The debate schedule Murkowski is offering is not fair to Alaskan voters, who are trying to make an informed decision about who will best represent their views in the next Congress,” said Miller. “I am calling on Lisa Murkowski to do the right thing and participate in televised, open and fair debates.”

Mark Levin Endorses Joe Miller For U.S. Senate

Anchorage, Alaska. September 26, 2016 — Conservative radio talk show host Mark Levin endorsed Libertarian U.S. Senate candidate Joe Miller on his program Friday evening against incumbent Sen. Lisa Murkowski.

Levin described himself as a “big fan” of Miller, while observing, “Murkowski is a leftist” and the “right-hand person” of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.

The talk show host also pointed out that Murkowski earned an “F” on the Conservative Review scorecard, based on her voting record.

Despite being from the Last Frontier, “Murkowski acts like a Republican from New Jersey,” said Levin.

Miller agreed, noting that her votes are “Not at all representative of Alaska values.” He highlighted that the senator voted with President Obama 72 percent of the time during the last Congress, and his other rivals for the seat are left of center, as well.

“So we have a clear path to victory, and the grassroots are excited as can be that I’m in,” said Miller.

Levin wondered if Miller’s entry created the possibility for a Democrat to take the seat.

“No risk at all,” the candidate replied. “We have a Democrat who will probably get less votes than the Democrat-leaning Independent who has raised over a half a million dollars and has the Democratic Party’s support.”

Though no public polling exists following Miller’s entry, the Murkowski campaign released a poll in early September, which showed the Democrat and independent candidates taking a combined 17 percent. Therefore, it seems very likely Murkowski and Miller will be vying for the top spot in the race, once again.

“This is a beautiful race where a true conservative has the opportunity to win, as long as everybody activates,” said Miller.

Despite entering the race in mid-September, Miller has already garnered the endorsements of Gun Owners of America, Alaska Right to Life, and the support of the Alaska Republican Assembly. Additionally, five members of the Alaska GOP’s Central Committee stepped down to back Miller and one was voted out for doing so.

Miller also has the support of the co-chair of Donald Trump’s campaign in Alaska and the former co-chair of Sen. Ted Cruz’s campaign. Cruz won the state’s presidential primary with 36 percent of the vote to Trump’s 33.5. In total, non-establishment candidates took over 80 percent of that vote.

Joe Miller Blasts Governor’s Action, Murkowski’s Long Time Advocacy For Regressive PFD Grab

Fairbanks, Alaska. September 23, 2016 — Joe Miller today blasted Governor Walker’s executive action stealing more than half of the Permanent Fund Dividend many Alaskans depend on for basic necessities.

“The governor’s decision to make Alaska’s most needy families pay for the politicians’ irresponsible public policy is just outrageous,” Miller said. “But the collective yawn coming from the rest of the political class is just as offensive. And there’s good reason for that. Lisa Murkowski has been pushing this regressive policy to fund big government for years.”

Murkowski co-sponsored a measure in the state legislature to use a portion of the PFD for government expenditures, despite an overwhelming vote of the electorate to reject the policy.

Murkowski was also a member of the Alaska’s Fiscal Policy Caucus that recommended using PFD funds for state expenditures as well.

Earlier this year, Murkowski suggested that putting the PFD on the table as a solution to the state’s fiscal woes was an appropriate option.

“But it doesn’t stop there,” added Miller. “Lisa’s silence in the face of Governor Walker’s illegal and unconstitutional PFD grab is reminiscent of her response to President Obama’s repeated assaults on the Constitution and Congressional powers. In most of these instances, she has just been AWOL.”

Months before deciding to run for Alaska’s US Senate seat, Miller began working with grassroots Alaskans to stop the PFD grab.

September 21, 2016 —  U.S. Senate candidate Joe Miller stated on Wednesday he is eager to debate Senator Lisa Murkowski, and the other contenders for the seat she currently occupies,  about the issues vital to the future of Alaska and the country.

“Alaskans are not satisfied with the current direction of our state and nation,” said Miller. “They deserve the opportunity to see the candidates for U.S. senate make their case, and regarding Senator Murkowski, justify her votes, in televised events available to the public at large.”

Murkowski is the most liberal “Republican” up for re-election, having voted with President Obama 72 percent of the time during the last session of Congress.

Multiple local news affiliates are seeking to host televised debates. To date, as far as the Miller campaign has been able to determine, Senator Murkowski has failed to commit to most, if not all, of those debates.

“As has been the case in years past, Alaskans deserve debates in a format that allows for the free exchange of ideas, where candidates will be given the opportunity to directly question each other and offer rebuttals, so the event is not merely a series of unchallenged soundbites,” said Miller

Declassified Hillary Emails Reveal That She Distributed to Staff “I Hate Israel Handbook”

In March 2010, Blumenthal plugged his son’s work — this time, playing up links between evangelical Pastor John Hagee and Netanyahu — in the context of an article (written by a different writer) discussing a controversial Pentagon briefing on US relations with Israel and the Arab world.

The briefing had dealt with the lack of progress in resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and American concerns over a growing perception among Arab leaders that the US was incapable of standing up to Israel.

“I’ve included an article by Max Blumenthal, who spends his time on this issue and plans to move to Israel for about 6-8 months to write a book,” Blumenthal wrote to Clinton. “He tracks a lot of things that do not appear in the mainstream press.”

Clinton instructed a staffer to print out five copies of the articles, though “without the heading from Sid” . . . The [articles came from] Goliath, a work released in 2013 that excoriated Israeli policies and that was itself widely critiqued. The Forward’s J.J. Obama Family Vacations Costing Americans Tens of Millions!!!

Obama VacationBy Tom Fitton. Barack Obama’s taxpayer-funded trips are costing taxpayers a pretty penny. Other presidents have certainly pushed the line on this. However, here, one has to ask if the Obamas are really doing the people’s business on these extravagant, spare-no-expense trips across the country and to luxury destinations overseas.

Judicial Watch just obtained records from the U.S. Department of the Air Force revealing that Michelle Obama’s 2014 trip to China cost American taxpayers $362,523.53 in air travel expenses alone. The first lady, her daughters, and her mother spent March 19-26 in China, in a trip highlighted by extended visits to some of the country’s most popular tourist sites. . .

Judicial Watch previously uncovered an expensive combination of trips by the Obamas to Africa and Honolulu, which cost taxpayers $15,885,585.30 in flight expenses alone.

The single largest prior-known expense for accommodations was for Michelle Obama’s side-trip to Dublin, Ireland, during the 2013 G-8 conference in Belfast, when she and her entourage booked 30 rooms at the five-star Shelbourne Hotel, with the first lady staying in the 1,500-square-foot Princess Grace suite at a cost of $3,500 a night. The total cost to taxpayers for the Obamas’ Ireland trip was $7,921,638.66.

38 Obama Vacations Cost Taxpayers Tens of Millions

By WND. How much does the first family cost taxpayers for vacations? While it’s difficult to pin down precise figures, the Washington Examiner reports they have “spent tens of millions in tax dollars to vacation . . .”

Judicial Watch has compiled a list of vacations, fundraisers and other presidential trips and their accompanying expenses. A rough tally of this incomplete list comes to a minimum of $33,441,728.23.

It is routine for the government to cover a president’s travel expenses, which can include security, staff housing and transportation, communication, prepositioning of aircraft and other related expenditures. Some, however, are questioning the sheer cost of travel, and whether such costly vacations are necessary during a weak economy.

Prior to the presidential trip to sub-Saharan Africa during 2013, the Washington Post reported, “Hundreds of U.S. Secret Service agents will be dispatched to secure facilities in Senegal, South Africa and Tanzania. A Navy aircraft carrier or amphibious ship, with a fully staffed medical trauma center, will be stationed offshore in case of an emergency. Military cargo planes will airlift in 56 support vehicles, including 14 limousines and three trucks loaded with sheets of bullet¬proof glass to cover the windows of the hotels where the first family will stay. Fighter jets will fly in shifts, giving 24-hour coverage over the president’s airspace, so they can intervene quickly if an errant plane gets too close.”

Additionally, “One hundred [Secret Service] agents are needed as ‘post-standers’ – to man security checkpoints and borders around the president – in each of the first three cities he visits. Sixty-five are needed to meet up with Obama in Dar es Salaam. … In addition, 80 to 100 additional agents will be flown in to work rotating shifts, with round-the-clock coverage, for Obama’s and his family’s security details …” (Read more from “Obama Family Vacations Costing Americans Tens of Millions” HERE)

Liberal Columnist Calls for Ending Military Funeral Honors for Vets: “Most Veterans Did Nothing Heroic”

Full Honors Military Funeral ServiceWriting for the St. Louis Dispatch, Bill McClellan suggests that America does not owe military honors to veterans who die. Unsurprisingly, the leftist, 2015 Pulitzer Prize-winning paper published McClellan’s offensive opinion piece. Here are few excerpts:

Both the federal government and the state government are broke. So why are we providing military funeral honors for all veterans? It is a nice gesture we can’t afford.

Certainly, men and women killed in combat deserve full military honors. It’s a way for the country to say, “We honor the memory of those who died in our service.” These military honors — and the thought behind them — are intended to provide some solace for the families of the fallen.

But what about the guy who spends a couple of years in the military and then gets on with his life? Bear in mind that most veterans did nothing heroic. They served, and that’s laudable, but it hardly seems necessary to provide them all with military honors after they have died. In fact, it seems generous enough to provide veterans and their spouses with free space and headstones at a national cemetery.

Why not let the veterans organizations provide military honors at the funerals of their members? If a person gets out of the Marine Corps and wants to stay connected, he can join the Marine Corps League. I’m sure the 101st Airborne has an association. In a more general vein, we have the American Legion and the VFW. . .

Dropping these military funeral honors would not be a slap in the face to veterans. If these honors are important to a person, he or she can join a veterans organization.

Ben Carson Now Backs Amnesty for Illegals

Ben CarsonOn Wednesday, Dr. Ben Carson said America’s borders must be sealed to protect against terrorism and told a prominent group of Latino elected officials that he also supports giving illegal immigrants a path to legalization and eventual citizenship . . .

Regarding the country’s illegal immigrants, Carson said, “many of them have never known any other country … so where are you going to send them?”

Carson said the country must “provide them a way so that they don’t have to hide in the shadows” and “give them an opportunity to become guest-workers–they have to register, they have to enroll in a back tax program.”

“And if they want to become citizens they have to get in the line with everyone else… because we have to pay homage to people who’ve done it the right way,” Carson added.

He also told the audience that “what threatens to destroy is division” and blasted the “purveyors of division” who try to divide Americans based on race, age, income and a host of other issues for trying to convince Americans that “we are each other’s enemies.” He said that radical Islamic terrorists are trying to destroy the United States and Americans should not make it easier for them by buying into the politics of division. An Unpatriotic Soldier Wants the World to Know She Won’t Salute the Flag

A soldier who hid in her car to avoid saluting the flag — and then flaunted it on Instagram — is the latest service member to come under attack via social media and be accused of dishonoring her service.

Pfc. Tariqka Sheffey, whose Instagram handle is “sheffeynation,” posted a selfie with a caption that reads:

“This is me laying back in my car hiding so I don’t have to salute the 1700 flag, KEEP ALL YOUR ‘THATS SO DISRESPECTFUL/HOWRUDE/ETC.’ COMMENTS TO YOURSELF cuz, right now, IDGAFFFF.”

The image was distributed via Facebook and also sent to Army Times. Angry service members, Gold Star mothers and spouses have called for the soldier’s removal from service.

“Any soldier who refuses to salute the flag is in the military for the wrong reason, and should be removed by dishonorable discharge with loss of all benefits,” one Facebook commenter said. “If they won’t salute it, they damn sure won’t fight for it.” (Read more from “An Unpatriotic Soldier Wants the World to Know She Won’t Salute the Flag” HERE)

Chris Kyle‘American Sniper’ is breaking countless box-office records. It had the 2nd highest grossing weekend for any R-rated movie, and is sparking debate across America. It’s hard to remember any movie which has been such a cultural phenomenon, and inflamed passions across the political spectrum.

Watch a message from Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, the famous sniper with 160 confirmed kills, as he gives a timely warning about President Barack Obama. He warns us about how deep Obama’s anti-2nd Amendment philosophy is. Isn’t that sad for a constitutional professor to be so opposed to gun rights?

“I don’t know exactly what he’s doing,” Kyle said then, referring to Obama’s efforts to enact gun control according to guns.com, “but I know he’s definitely against the Second Amendment, and he’s trying to ban everything” . . .

“You start putting these bans in effect — you know, these people who don’t know anything about the guns — and they start thinking, ‘Well, who needs 30-round magazines?’” he said. “Really? That’s just opening the door so you can start taking more of our rights.”

“It was there, it was started by our Founding Fathers, and they had the same weapons the military did,” he argued. “We don’t even have that today. But don’t try to take what I’ve already got.”
