Lawsuit: Tesla Door Handles Trapped 5 People that Died in Fiery EV Crash

The children of Jeffrey and Michelle Bauer have filed a lawsuit against Tesla, accusing Elon Musk’s EV giant of negligence in a fatal car crash that claimed the lives of their parents and three others. The lawsuit claims that multiple people survived the crash, only to be trapped in the burning Tesla by the company’s electronic door handles, which have led to other lawsuits making the same claim.

The New York Post reports that in a tragic incident that occurred in November last year, a Tesla Model S slammed into a tree and burst into flames, resulting in the deaths of all five passengers. Now, the children of two of the victims, Jeffrey Bauer, 54, and Michelle Bauer, 55, have filed a lawsuit against Tesla in Wisconsin state court, alleging that the car’s door design prevented their parents from escaping the burning vehicle.

According to the complaint, the Bauers survived the initial impact but were unable to escape the fire because the doors locked them inside. A nearby homeowner who called 911 reported hearing screams coming from inside the vehicle, while the local sheriff’s office found a cluster of bodies in the front seat, suggesting they may have been struggling to get out.

The lawsuit argues that Tesla’s design choices created a highly foreseeable risk, where occupants who survived a crash could remain trapped inside a burning vehicle. Although the doors can be manually opened from the inside, many owners and passengers are unaware of the location of the manual door release, especially in a crisis situation. Democrats Vow To Continue Shutdown For Sake Of The Party’s ‘Brand’

Democratic Connecticut Sen. Chris Murphy said Thursday his party’s “brand” could undergo “substantial damage” if Democrats were to cave and reopen the federal government following their overwhelming election victories Tuesday night.

“There will be some pretty substantial damage done to a Democratic brand that has been rehabilitated, if on the heels of an election in which the people told us to keep fighting, we immediately stop fighting,” Murphy told Punchbowl News on Thursday morning. “We’re going to start operating on an increasingly short calendar. The 2026 election is just 12 months away. And if we surrender without having gotten anything, and we cause a lot of folks in this country who had started to believe in the Democratic Party to retreat again, I worry that it will be hard to sort of get them back up off the mat in time for next fall’s election cycle.”

Murphy alluded to Democratic victories in California, Virginia, New Jersey and New York, and suggested voters’ support for his party also validates Democrats’ shutdown strategy. The senator’s comments come as moderate Democrats continue shutdown talks, and millions of Americans feel the impacts of the frozen government reach their wallets, kitchens and airports.

Republicans’ latest shutdown offer includes advancing a package of three full year spending bills and a willingness to discuss the rehiring of federal workers that were laid off during the shutdown. It reportedly does not address the expiring Obamacare subsidies, according to Politico.

The ongoing negotiations have caused some Democratic lawmakers to shun the idea of reopening the government without securing an extension of the enhanced Obamacare subsidies that both the House Speaker Mike Johnson and President Donald Trump agree to. Poll: Majority of Americans Want Prosecutions in Joe Biden Autopen Scandal

A recent national poll shows that a slight majority of voters support criminal charges for aides in the Biden administration over alleged misuse of a presidential autopen—casting a spotlight on public confidence in executive accountability and the rule of law.

According to a survey by Rasmussen Reports conducted Oct. 28–30, 2025, 52 % of likely U.S. voters believe that aides in Biden’s White House should be criminally prosecuted for misusing the autopen to sign official documents without the president’s knowledge or approval.

The same poll found that 55% of likely voters think it’s at least somewhat likely that Biden’s staff used the autopen improperly, and 40 % believe it is very likely.

Among party-lines:

75% of Republicans support prosecution of the aides.

36% of Democrats support prosecution.

44% of unaffiliated voters support prosecution.

The poll results come in the wake of a report by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform which alleged that as President Biden’s mental and physical capacity declined, aides exercised presidential authority without his direct authorization—facilitating executive actions and signing official documents via autopen that lacked proper documentation.

That context appears to contribute to public skepticism: more than half of voters believe there was misuse, and a slim majority believe it warrants criminal accountability.

Although 52% support prosecutions, 32% oppose and 17% remain unsure, indicating the issue is still contested.

How H-1B Hires Broke USAA’s Bond With Veterans

The United Services Automobile Association is one of the most venerable names in banking and insurance, a company that prides itself on its service to members of the military and their families. In recent years, however, USAA has run into serious financial trouble due to a combination of mismanagement, fashionable diversity, equity, and inclusion policies, and the firm’s increasing reliance on incompetent and untrustworthy H-1B workers, most of whom are from India.

A significant number of current and former USAA employees have come forward to discuss what they describe as a toxic workplace culture, which has led to an alarming number of employee suicides, and the company’s outsourcing of critical functions to H-1Bs and Indian consultancies, putting at risk the financial data of its customers, which include high-ranking members of the U.S. armed forces.

Insiders granted anonymity to avoid retaliation say USAA’s decline began in the 2000s under then-CEO Robert G. Davis, who outsourced IT and other core functions to H-1B contracting firms such as Tata Consultancy Services. Those firms imposed contracts requiring USAA to maintain minimum staffing levels, creating chronic overstaffing. Idle contractors were reportedly assigned “busywork” to meet quotas, with conference rooms converted into laptop farms where workers sat “packed like sardines.” (Read more from “How H-1B Hires Broke USAA’s Bond With Veterans” HERE)

DOJ: Chinese Nationals at University of Michigan Smuggled Biological Samples

Three research scholars from the People’s Republic of China (PRC) were charged today in a criminal complaint with conspiracy to smuggle biological materials into the United States and for making false statements to U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officers, announced United States Attorney Jerome F. Gorgon, Jr.

These are the latest charges in a long string of cases stemming from the University of Michigan’s international research activities.

Charged were Xu Bai, 28, Fengfan Zhang, 27 and Zhiyong Zhang, 30. Bai and F. Zhang were charged with conspiracy to smuggle biological materials into the United States and Z. Zhang was charged with making false statements to federal agents. All three men were research scholars holding J-1 visas who were conducting research at the UM laboratory of Xianzhong Xu, commonly referred to as the Shawn Xu laboratory.

“Allegedly attempting to smuggle biological materials under the guise of ‘research’ is a serious crime that threatens America’s national and agricultural security,” said Attorney General Pamela Bondi. “We will remain vigilant to threats like these from foreign nationals who would take advantage of America’s generosity to advance a malicious agenda.”

Court documents say that in 2024 and 2025, Bai and F. Zhang were the recipients of multiple shipments containing concealed biological materials related to roundworms which had been sent from the PRC to the United States by Chengxuan Han, a citizen of the PRC. Alleged Yuppie Jihadis, 19, Plotted Boston Bombing-Style Attack, Planned to Join ISIS: Feds

Two upper-crust student athletes from tony Montclair, New Jersey, are accused of participating in an ISIS-inspired terror ring — with one of the suspects allegedly plotting a Boston bombing-style attack, the feds said Wednesday.

Tomas Kaan Jimenez-Guzel and Milo Sedarat, both 19, were arrested on Tuesday, with both teens living in $1 million-plus Victorian houses in the manicured New York City suburb.

The accused yuppie jihadis both grew up in privilege before allegedly turning to ISIS.

Jimenez-Guzel’s mother, Meral Guzel, serves as the head of the United Nation’s Women’s Entrepreneurship program, and Sedarat’s father, Roger Sedarat, is an award-winning Iranian-American poet and a professor at Queens College in New York City.

Guzel has been with the UN for more than a decade working on women empowerment projects, according to her LinkedIn account, with the mother previously working in the finance sector. (Read more from “Alleged Yuppie Jihadis, 19, Plotted Boston Bombing-Style Attack, Planned to Join ISIS: Feds” HERE)

Deadbeat Arizona Dad Dies by Suicide after Leaving 2-Year-Old Daughter to Die in Hot Car While He Watched Porn

The deadbeat Arizona dad who admitted to leaving his 2-year-old daughter to die in a sweltering car while he watched porn is dead — with his cowardly ending deemed a suicide, according to reports.

Christopher Scholtes, 38, was found dead in a Phoenix home just after 5 a.m. Wednesday, police told The Post, the same day he was due to report to prison ahead of his sentencing, where he faced up to 30 years behind bars. . .

The despicable dad — who had a known habit of leaving his kids in the car — pleaded guilty in October to second-degree murder and was expected to be officially sentenced to between 20 and 30 years this month.

His death comes more than a year after his young daughter, Parker, was found dead in the driveway of their Marana home outside Tuscon on a scorching July afternoon in 2024, when the temperature soared to 109-degrees Fahrenheit. . .

Scholtes was inside watching porn, playing video games and drinking beer while his daughter roasted to death.

That was something he apparently made a habit of doing – not just in one family, but in two. (Read more from “Deadbeat Arizona Dad Dies by Suicide after Leaving 2-Year-Old Daughter to Die in Hot Car While He Watched Porn” HERE)

Jewish FDNY Commissioner Hands In Resignation Less than 12 Hours After Mamdani Win, Other Top Officials Expected to Follow Suit

FDNY Commissioner Robert Tucker handed in his resignation on Wednesday, less than 12 hours after Democrat Socialist Zohran Mamdani was announced the winner of New York City’s mayoral election.

The fire chief tendered his resignation the morning after anti-Israel Zohran Mamdani was declared the mayor-elect of New York City, according to a report by New York Daily News.

On Wednesday morning, Tucker informed New York City Mayor Eric Adams that December 19 will be his last day as FDNY commissioner, according to an email obtained by the newspaper.

“Between now and then, I will continue to lead the greatest fire department in the world and will ensure an orderly transition,” Tucker said in his letter to Adams.

While Tucker’s reasons for resigning were not immediately made clear, an FDNY source told New York Daily News that the fire chief — a Jewish philanthropist and businessman — felt he wouldn’t mesh well with the incoming mayor and his team. Heritage Foundation Antisemitism Task Force Board Member Quits Over Tucker Carlson Defense — as Think Tank Prez Admits He ‘Made the Mess’

A board member of the Heritage Foundation’s antisemitism task force resigned Wednesday, as the think tank’s president Kevin Roberts apologized for his defense of Tucker Carlson following the right-wing podcaster’s “softball” interview with white supremacist Nick Fuentes.

Laurie Cardoza-Moore announced she was withdrawing from the board of the National Task Force to Combat Antisemitism, also known as Project Esther, due to Roberts’ embrace of Carlson days after the Fuentes sitdown was released.

“I proudly accepted the invitation to serve on the Heritage Foundation’s Task Force as a tool to fight Jew Hatred, but I am being forced to stand down — unless they draw a clear line in the sand,” said Cardoza-Moore.

“Kevin Robert’s recent statement following Tucker Carlson’s interview with Nick Fuentes was extremely concerning,” she added. “If the Heritage Foundation wants to stand on the right side of history, they must cut all ties with antisemites.”

Cardoza-Moore, who founded the Christian Zionist group Proclaiming Justice to the Nations, claimed that she had told Carlson “in person and publicly, he is a dangerous antisemite.”

Roberts in a private town hall with Heritage staff on Wednesday said he “made a mistake” by issuing a full-throated defense of the former Fox News host. City Elects Mayor Who Admitted, ‘I Am Illegal in This Country’

The mayor-elect of St. Paul, Minnesota, State Rep. Kaohly Vang Her (D) admitted earlier this year that she and her family are living illegally in the United States.

Vang Her, who will become St. Paul’s first female and first Asian mayor, beat out incumbent Melvin Carter, who is also a member of the state’s Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party, which is the name of Minnesota’s Democrat party.

In June, as Breitbart News reported, Vang Her stood on the Minnesota House floor and told a story of how she says her family — originally from Laos — immigrated to the U.S.

Vang Her said she had recently discovered that her parents, siblings, and she are illegal aliens because her father defrauded the nation’s immigration system.

“I would like for you to put a face to the name, a face to what it is that we are doing today … I asked my father about how we came to the United States, and I always thought we came here because my grandfather was a colonel in the Secret War,” Vang said:

I had thought that meant that we had, we were in line to come to the U.S., and my mother told me — my father told me that was not true. Even though my parents both worked for a Christian organization, and my father actually worked at the U.S. Consulate because he was one of the few people who could speak English and he could type really fast and apparently that was a very valued skill then. So they had my father move away from the refugee camp from my mom and my sisters and I, and he went to live at the consulate where he processed all of the paperwork for the refugees that came to America. And we had missed our time to come to the U.S. three times and if we didn’t come that last time, we would not have been able to come to the U.S.
