Elon Musk Barges Into Twitter HQ Carrying Sink as Deal Nears: ‘Let That Sink In’

Billionaire Elon Musk carried an actual sink into Twitter’s San Francisco headquarters during a surprise visit Wednesday ahead of his expected acquisition of the company.

Musk shared a video laughing while lugging the sink into the lobby – two days before his court-ordered deadline to close a $44 billion deal to buy Twitter or face a trial. Earlier in the day, the Tesla boss changed his Twitter bio to “Chief Twit.”

“Entering Twitter HQ – let that sink in!” Musk tweeted alongside the nine-second video.

In a memo to staffers, Twitter chief marketing officer Leslie Berland revealed that Musk would be on site at the company’s headquarters throughout the week. Musk is also expected to personally address employees on Friday.

“Elon is in the SF office this week meeting with folks, walking the halls, and continuing to dive in on the important work you all do,” Berland wrote in the memo, according to Bloomberg. “For everyone else, this is just the beginning of many meetings and conversations with Elon, and you’ll all hear directly from him on Friday.”

Presbyterian Church (USA) Adds ‘Nonbinary/Genderqueer Category’ to Denominational Statistics

The left-wing Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) is placing a “nonbinary/genderqueer category” into its denominational statistics.

“Each year, the Office of the General Assembly gathers statistical information from presbyteries across the country and provides a comprehensive breakdown on church membership, ethnicity and age distribution, as well as other information. But for next year’s update, expect to see some changes in what is reported,” a post on pcusa.org notes.

Manager of denominational roles and statistics Kris Valerius said, “we’ve always asked how many female members there are in the church. We’re now asking how many men, women and nonbinary/genderqueer members there are. We’ve never asked that question so we don’t know how many people will fill it out.”

“If we want to be inclusive, then we have to start asking because you should be aware of who’s a part of your church,” Valerius said, according to the post. (Read more from “Presbyterian Church (USA) Adds ‘Nonbinary/Genderqueer Category’ to Denominational Statistics” HERE)

Trump Was Right on TikTok, Says Top Democrat Senator

One of the Democratic Party’s leading figures, Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.), who is head of the United States Senate intelligence committee, has said former President Donald Trump was right when it came to the security risks around the Chinese-owned TikTok.

“This is not something you would normally hear me say, but Donald Trump was right on TikTok years ago,” said Warner during a visit to Australia, reported The Sydney Moring Herald on Oct. 25.

“If your country uses Huawei, if your kids are on TikTok, if your population uses WeChat as a social media platform, the ability for China to have undue influence is, I think, a much greater challenge and a much more immediate threat than any kind of actual, armed conflict.”

Warner, who is currently in Australia to engage with local intelligence chiefs, politicians, and business people, also warned about the technological domination that the Chinese regime is exerting over other countries, calling it scary.

“China having this kind of technology domination in a number of countries ought to scare the heck out of us because we’ve seen the kind of Orwellian surveillance state they’ve already created within China,” he said. (Read more from “Trump Was Right on TikTok, Says Top Democrat Senator” HERE)

Biden Mocked for Linking Extra Cost of Roomier Airline Seats to ‘People of Color’

Conservatives on Twitter blasted President Joe Biden for touting the fact that his administration is looking get rid of the “junk fees” that make roomier airline seats more expensive and thus “unfair” to “people of color.”

During a Wednesday speech on combating inflation and lowering costs for families, President Joe Biden expressed his administration’s commitment to eliminating “junk fees” which he claimed make American lives, particularly those of low-income families and people of color, harder.

In a what many critical viewers considered a bizarre portion of the speech, Biden claimed that the extra expense required to purchase roomier airline seats is a form of these junk fees, which he argued hit “people of color” particularly hard.

He said, “Some airlines, if you want six more inches between you and the seat in front, you pay more money. But you don’t know it until you purchase your ticket. Look folks, these are junk fees, they’re unfair and they hit marginalized Americans the hardest, especially low-income folks and people of color.”

Conservatives found it ridiculous that the President of the United States was claiming that expensive airline seats were racist. (Read more from “Biden Mocked for Linking Extra Cost of Roomier Airline Seats to ‘People of Color'” HERE)

Here’s Why the Alaska GOP Has Had It With Mitch McConnell

It’s a symbolic vote that illustrates the discontent among conservatives with the Republican leadership in Washington. The Alaskan GOP censured Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) for his support of incumbent Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), who has been a perpetual thorn in the side of Senate Republicans. Murkowski is navigating her re-election bid through the state’s new ranked-choice voting system, which significantly benefits her. The Alaska Republican was mulling not running for a fourth term, given how the Republican base has changed and the Trump ascendancy, the latter of which she reportedly loathes so much she’s considered leaving the party. It would have been a better choice had she left, but she’s now facing Republican challenger Kelly Tshibaka and Democrat Pat Chesbro in the general election (via WaPo):

The Alaska Republican Party voted Monday to censure Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), a gesture with no practical consequence but one that is intended to send a strong signal to conservative voters in the state to vote for Donald Trump-backed candidate Kelly Tshibaka over Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski.

The McConnell-aligned super PAC Senate Leadership Fund has spent more than $5 million in ads attacking Tshibaka in a bid to help Murkowski win reelection. . .

Tshibaka, who has also been backed by the Alaska GOP, accused McConnell of lying about her to get more Republicans to vote for Murkowski.

Joe Biden Was ‘Complicit in Six Alleged White Collar Crimes’: 634-Page Watchdog Report

President Joe Biden is listed as an ‘accomplice’ in six alleged white collar crimes in an explosive 634-page report on the contents of Hunter’s laptop by a right wing transparency organization, obtained exclusively by DailyMail.com.

The incendiary report by nonprofit Marco Polo, a right-wing transparency group, details accusations of 459 crimes allegedly committed by Hunter including prostitution offenses, distribution and possession of drugs, defrauding government agencies, illegal foreign lobbying and money laundering.

The report – published by founder Garrett Ziegler, a 26-year-old former Trump White House aide – claims that Joe is complicit in tax evasion, violations of the Presidential Records Act and the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA), and using nonpublic information from a government job for financial gain. . .

The report come days after DailyMail.com reported a White House lawyer had sent Hunter and his business partner emails about then-Vice President Joe Biden’s taxes in 2010, calling into question the president’s claim that he had no financial link to his son.

Marco Polo’s report combs through the emails, texts and pictures from the First Son’s abandoned MacBook Pro in painstaking detail and is designed, according to Ziegler, as a guide for both law enforcement and congressional investigators for ‘what to subpoena’ to build a criminal case. Russia Walks Back Risk of Dirty Bomb Plot Amid NATO Warnings

Russia has downplayed the risk of a dirty bomb plot in Ukraine just days after claiming Ukrainian officials planned to stage such an attack following a chorus of NATO warnings rejecting the allegation.

“We have got what we wanted,” Russian deputy ambassador Dmitry Polyanskiy told reporters at the United Nations. “If this all does not happen, I do not mind people saying that Russia is crying wolf because we are speaking about a terrible disaster that might potentially threaten the whole Earth.”

That sanguine tone makes a marked contrast with charges leveled over the first two days of the week as Russian military officials claimed that Ukrainian officials had reached the “final stage” of a scheme to detonate a dirty bomb and blame Moscow. Western officials denounced the allegation as “transparently false” and aired their suspicions that the Kremlin had a similar plan in mind.

“Russia often accuses others of what they intend to do themselves,” NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said Tuesday while visiting the USS George H.W. Bush, the American aircraft carrier leading NATO’s Neptune Strike exercises in the Mediterranean. “We have seen this pattern before, from Syria to Ukraine. Russia must not use false pretexts for further escalation. The world is watching closely.” (Read more from “Russia Walks Back Risk of Dirty Bomb Plot Amid NATO Warnings” HERE)

Elon Musk Blasts Chess Champion Who Criticized His Ukraine Proposal

Billionaire and Tesla CEO Elon Musk responded to criticism from Russian Chess Grandmaster Garry Kasparov via Twitter on Wednesday. Musk tweeted that aside from chess, Kasparov “is otherwise an idiot” and a “douche.”

In an appearance on CNBC’s “Squawk Box” Monday, Kasparov advocates of “some kind of settlement,” as host Andrew Sorkin framed the question, between Russia and Ukraine. Kasparov called the concept “moral idiocy and total ignorance of lessons of history.”

In particular, Kasparov accused Musk of “moral idiocy and geopolitical blindness,” after the Tesla CEO suggested Ukraine could potentially cede Crimea and the city of Sevastapol to Russia in exchange for peace.

Responding to critics who question the cost of aiding Ukraine, Kasparov told Sorkin, “The cost is huge but Ukraine is paying this cost,” before adding, “So why are people sitting in the comfort of their mansions in Silicon Valley telling Ukraine how to conduct their own affairs?”

Musk replied to the Squawk Box Twitter clip saying, “While it’s true that Kasparov is almost as good at playing chess as my iPhone, he is otherwise an idiot”

Armed Protesters, Counter-Protesters Violently Clash Over Drag Queen Storytime Event

Armed protesters and counter-protesters clashed outside a drag queen storytime event at an Oregon pub over the weekend.

More than 300 demonstrators hurled rocks and smoke grenades at each other outside Old Nick’s Pub in Eugene as a group gathered inside to read a story.

The pub was the latest target of LGBTQ+ hate after right-wing personalities complained about an 11-year-old drag performer called Vanellope who was expected to perform.

Authorities said the crowd lobbed rocks and some smoke bombs at one another before police shut the event down, according to the Register Guard.

Some protestors in the crowd came to the event for small children armed with semi-automatic rifles, officials added. (Read more from “Armed Protesters, Counter-Protesters Violently Clash Over Drag Queen Storytime Event” HERE)

Gallup: Americans’ Optimism for Young People’s Future Hits All-Time Low

Americans’ optimism about young people having more material success than their parents is as low as it has been in nearly three decades, according to a Gallup poll released Tuesday.

The poll found that 42% of adults find it very or somewhat likely that today’s youth “will have a better living standard, better homes, a better education and so on.”

That marks an 18-percentage-point drop since Gallup last asked the question in 2019 and is statistically equal to the all-time low of 44% in 2011.

“Americans’ overall sour mood about the economy and the direction of the country is also borne out in their low optimism about the next generation’s prospects of having a better life than their parents,” Gallup said.

The polling company first asked the question in 2008. It said Americans with higher incomes and Republicans drove the most recent decline. (Read more from “Gallup: Americans’ Optimism for Young People’s Future Hits All-Time Low” HERE)
