By New York Post. President Biden said Tuesday that his son Hunter Biden is “on the straight and narrow” and denied his offspring committed a gun-purchase crime that the US attorney in Delaware reportedly is considering charging.

CNN host Jake Tapper asked Biden to give his first public response to reporting last week by the Washington Post that the FBI believes there’s enough evidence to charge Hunter, 52, with tax fraud and lying on a gun-purchase form by denying his drug use.

“Personally and politically, how do you react to that?” Tapper asked Biden, whose own involvement in his family’s overseas dealings will be a top focus of Republicans if they retake Congress in the Nov. 8 midterm elections.

“Well, first of all, I’m proud of my son. This is a kid who got, not a kid — he’s a grown man. He got hooked on — like many families have had happen, hooked on drugs. He’s overcome that. He’s established a new life,” the president told Tapper.

“He is — I’m confident that he is — what he says and does are consistent with what happens. And for example, he wrote a book about his problems and was straightforward about it. President Addresses Possibility of Hunter Biden Prosecution

By Politico. President Joe Biden addressed the possibility of his son, Hunter Biden, being prosecuted for tax crimes and a false statement during a gun purchase — the first time the elder Biden has answered questions about the possibility of charges, first reported by the Washington Post.

“I didn’t know anything about it,” the president said in an interview that aired Tuesday on CNN, of his son possibly lying about drug use on an application to purchase a gun.

Federal agents think they have enough evidence to charge the younger Biden with tax crimes and the false statement, the Washington Post reported last week. However, no such charges have been filed by the U.S. Attorney in Delaware — an appointee of former President Donald Trump — yet. Russia Invites U.S. States to Secede and Join Country

A senior Russian lawmaker has seemingly invited American states to secede and instead join the Russian Federation, amid polling showing support amongst Americans for their states to break away.

Alexander Tomalchev, a senior member of Russia’s parliament (the Duma) told Russian news website Podmoskovye Segodnya that any US state wanting to secede from the US would be welcome to apply to join his country, Newsweek reported on Monday.

He cited polls showing Americans wanting their states to break away from the US, before calling for any such US state wanting to join Russia to hold elections on the matter.

“It is important that voting takes place not on social networks, but officially and legitimately,” Mr Tomalchev said in apparent reference to online polling in the US and elections in regions of Ukraine annexed by Russia this month.

Mr Tomalchev reportedly added that Moscow would consider any US state wanting to join the Russian Federation should any such election be held, and that United States was beginning “to decay”. (Read more from “Russia Invites U.S. States to Secede and Join Country” HERE)

U.S. Sensors Unable to Track Chinese, Russian Hypersonic Missiles: Report

U.S. radars are unable to track Chinese and Russian high-speed missiles until late in their flight, even as new systems are being developed as part of the Pentagon’s accelerated hypersonic missile defense program, according to a congressional report.

The Congressional Research Service report said that the Pentagon’s Missile Defense Agency and Space Development Agency are working on parts of a hypersonic missile defense systems that could be used to stop the missiles, in part because current systems are inadequate for the job.

“U.S. defense officials have stated that both existing terrestrial- and space-based sensor architectures are insufficient to detect and track hypersonic weapons,” the Oct. 3 report states.

For geostationary satellite sensors, hypersonic targets are 10 to 20 times harder to detect than conventional ballistic missiles, which travel in more predictable trajectories, the report said.

Hypersonic missiles travel at speeds greater than 1 mile per second. Current U.S. space and ground radar systems are unable to detect the missiles until late in flight, making interception with anti-missile systems difficult. FBI Offered Christopher Steele $1M for Evidence Backing Up Dossier Claims About Trump: FBI Analyst

The FBI offered Christopher Steele $1 million if he could prove allegations recorded in his now-infamous dossier, a senior FBI analyst said in court on Tuesday.

FBI analyst Brian Auten testified in the trial of Igor Danchenko, the primary source of allegations in Steele’s dossier, that the bureau placed a $1 million price tag on confirmation of the dossier’s outlandish allegations. Steele was unable to provide any evidence.

Auten said he and a group of FBI agents met with Steele in October of 2021 and offered the former British spy $1 million for evidence supporting the dossier, according to Fox News. The FBI’s offer came years after it had used the dossier’s claims to secure FISA warrants to surveil former President Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign.

“On October 21, 2016, did you have any information to corroborate that information?” Durham asked Auten, referencing the date the first FISA application to surveil former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page was filed. . .

Auten testified that the FBI offered Steele “up to $1 million” for proof substantiating allegations made in a series of reports to the bureau over the course of several months in 2016. The analyst said Steele never received any money because he could not “prove the allegations,” according to CNN. Steel’s reports were eventually compiled into the dossier first published by BuzzFeed News in January 2017. Liar, Liar: Biden Repeats Exaggerated 2004 Fire Story at White House Event (VIDEO)

President Joe Biden retold a story during the White House “Summit on Fire Prevention and Control” about a blaze at his Delaware home that has been criticized for being exaggerated. . .

During the event, Biden praised firefighters for saving his two sons after a 1972 car crash, which killed his first wife and their daughter, as well as for rushing him to the hospital in 1988 when he was suffering from two aneurysms. But he also repeated a story about a 2004 blaze at his Wilmington, Delaware, property.

“From the basement to the third floor, the attic, everything was ruined,” he added. “We almost lost a couple firefighters, they tell me, because the kitchen floor was burning between beams, and then the house, in addition, almost collapsed into the basement.”

Elon Musk Denies Report He Recently Spoke to Putin Before Unveiling Ukraine Peace Plan

Space and electric car guru Elon Musk denied reports that he recently talked to Russian President Vladimir Putin before unveiling his peace plan to end the war in Ukraine.

In a mailout to subscribers, Eurasia Group founder Ian Bremmer reported that Musk told him Putin was “prepared to negotiate” so long as Crimea remained within Russia’s grip, according to Vice News. Musk insisted that he hasn’t talked to Putin in nearly 18 months, which would precede the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February. . .

Bremmer later appeared to rebuff Musk’s denial, reiterating that Musk told him that he spoke with Putin, though refraining from laying out a specific timeline.

Brace Yourselves: We Could Be Losing 175,000 Jobs a Month Soon

Political analyst Charlie Cook warned Democrats recently: you can’t count on any more good news to break your way. The August spending bill and the abortion hysterics gave Democrats a slight boost as the dog days of summer ended—but that’s over. Voters don’t care about the Democrats’ inflationary spending bill, and the abortion rage has died. The September consumer index report was an abject disaster that set the markets ablaze. It was a vicious punch to the face reminding voters that inflation is very much the economic elephant in the room. It’s not the development Democrats wanted to return less than a month away from the 2022 midterms. On top of the economic recession, crime is now creeping back into the national consciousness. If Democrats felt that the stream of bad news would end—they would be wrong. Bank of America now expects the economy to shed 175,000 jobs a month soon (via KSL):

The Federal Reserve’s fight to squash inflation will cause the U.S. economy to start losing tens of thousands of jobs a month beginning early next year, Bank of America warns.

Although the jobs market remained surprisingly strong in September, the Fed is working hard to change that by aggressively raising interest rates to ease demand for everything from cars and homes to appliances.

Bombshell Report Drops on Raphael Warnock, Herschel Walker Has Amazing Response

Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA) is in a tight race with Herschel Walker to hold onto his Senate seat in Georgia. . .

What politicians say is rarely who they truly are. But Warnock just had a bombshell report drop on him.

Warnock is the senior pastor of the Ebenezer Baptist Church. The Church not only gives him a salary but also gives him a $7,417-a-month housing allowance. $7,417 for housing a month? Where does he live? Beverly Hills in a house made of gold? Or is that meant to juice his salary a bit? . . .

Bottom line? Democrats are big hypocrites and this is who they are. Chances that the liberal media picks this up and runs with it? Probably not likely, despite the importance of the information.

But it did get noticed by Herschel Walker, who has been facing his own issues. He had a generous response, offering to pay for the people who the Church was trying to evict.

I Won’t Go to War With Russia for Randi Weingarten

After news broke on Monday that Russia launched missiles at several Ukrainian cities, the president of the second-largest teachers union in America announced she was “heading to the border now to assess the situation.” . . .

What is the woman infamous for sentencing American children to school on screens doing in Ukraine other than making herself a Franz Ferdinand-like target and possibly violating the Logan Act? Especially since the U.S. Department of State has ordered Americans “not travel to Ukraine due to Russian military invasion.”

According to the AFT, which sponsored the trip, Weingarten’s presence in Ukraine is supposed to “offer solidarity and support in the face of relentless attacks that have forced hundreds of thousands of refugees to flee the country’s east.”  

Frankly, that’s not a good enough reason to be gung-ho about celebrities such as Ben Stiller, Angelina Jolie, Sean Penn, Liev Schreiber, Jessica Chastain, and now leftist pawns such as Weingarten making the dangerous pilgrimage East with the hopes that they can “make a difference” in Ukraine. These American civilians have no business traveling to Eastern Europe in the midst of a conflict that is teetering on the edge of nuclear war, even if they are just trying to “do something” beyond putting the performative blue and yellow flag in their Twitter bios.

Already, American warmongers including President Joe Biden have threatened escalation if Russia continues its rampage in the East. The last thing the United States needs after funneling more than $67 billion to the Volodymyr Zelensky regime without any accountability or oversight is to have an American injured or dead thanks to their reckless travel. There’s no doubt that any incident of consequence would be used as an excuse to take U.S. involvement from proxy war to direct conflict.

Making Choices at the Ballot Box

America is divided culturally and spiritually more now than at any time since the Civil War era. The winners of approaching mid-term elections will not just direct policy over at least the next two (or more) years, but will affect the fundamental structure of our nation. Indeed, many of today’s candidates, following the lead of former President Obama, wish to “fundamentally change America.” But they don’t tell you what that means.

That’s the purpose of this discussion. My goal here is not to tell you whom to vote for, but rather, to argue what to vote for. To begin with, let us understand exactly what the fundamental principles of America are. Only then can we make an informed decision about whether to vote to change them.

The Declaration of Independence

The second paragraph of the Declaration of Independence sets forth the principles upon which America is built. It states, in part:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed …

This simple statement sets out five fundamental truths about our beliefs, which are:

1. God created man,
2. We are all equal,
3. God (not government) grants humans certain rights, in particular, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness,
4. Those rights cannot be taken away, and
5. Governments are created to protect those rights.

As you go into the voting booth this November, ask yourself, which of these fundamental principles do you wish to alter or abolish? Let’s discuss them in more detail.

The Right to Life

The great William Blackstone, the English jurist and legal philosopher, wrote in his Commentaries on the Common Law, that life is the “immediate gift of God.” He declared that the right to life is one that is inherent in every individual. Blackstone noted that that no man has the power to destroy life, but through the law of God, “who is the author of life.”

Many politicians today argue that there is an individual choice whether an unborn child should live or die. Many such politicians argue that this choice exists right up until the moment the child is born, and perhaps, astonishingly, even immediately after the child is born.

Instead, the Creator tells us we are not to kill the innocent (Exod 23:7). Rather, in Deuteronomy 30:19, He says, “This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.”

God is so concerned with life that he created life in his own image (Genesis 1:26-27); He sustains life (Job 12:10); He redeemed life (I Corinthians 5:19); and He sent his only Son, not only that we may have life, but have it to the fullest (John 10:10).

Would you vote to fundamentally change the idea that humans have an inherent right to life? If so, in whom would you vest the power to decide who will live and who will die? What government bureaucracy would you trust to make that decision about your life and that of your family?

If you said “no” to my first question, then you must vote to uphold the right to life.

The Right to Liberty

Since man is created by God, as confirmed by the Declaration, and since man has an absolute right to life, then it naturally follows that he also has an absolute right to liberty. Man is born free of bonds. In a state of nature, as explained by John Locke in his first Essay on Civil Government, men are free to “order their actions” as they see fit.

This is the essence of liberty: the freedom of every person to make full use of his own unique God-given gifts and talents. As explained by Frederick Bastiat in his classic essay, The Law, liberty is the union of all individual freedoms. It is the combination of the freedom of conscience, education, association, speech, travel, press, labor and trade. God placed a call on every human. He endowed each person with unique gifts and talents, as well as vision, drive, courage and commitment. He expects each of us to use those gifts—each according his ability (Matthew 25:14)—to build God’s Kingdom.

Yet a bevy of today’s politicians somehow believe that you are not smart enough to carry out God’s call on your life. Rather than recognize the liberty that naturally flows from the gift of life, they intend to intervene in the conduct of your personal affairs, using the force of government to direct your life. We see this in the areas of the education of your children, your ability to contract with others for goods, services and compensation, your capacity to provide for your own medical insurance and healthcare, the management of your retirement savings and investments, your general business practices, and so on, through an endless list of government regulations ostensibly intended to protect you from yourself.

To borrow Bastiat’s phrase, this “philanthropic tyranny” is merely the means by which governments make despotic inroads into every aspect of your private life. The net effect is to reduce people “under absolute despotism” (Declaration of Independence). People are thus denied their natural, God-given right to liberty and are instead subjected to a growing list of whimsical social programs dreamed up to supplant God’s call on your life. In this way, political elitists seek to “arrange, organize, and regulate [your life] according to their fancy” (Bastiat).

Would you vote to fundamentally change the idea that you have an inherent right to liberty? If so, in whom would you vest the power to determine how your life should be run? What government bureaucracy would you trust to make critical decisions about every aspect of your private life?

If you said “no” to my first question, then you must vote to uphold the right to liberty.

The Right to the Pursuit of Happiness

The right to the pursuit of happiness flows directly from the right to liberty. If one is free to pursue God’s call on his life in an honest and peaceful manner, he has the natural right to the ownership of the property that grows from such exercise. In fact, in his Essay on Civil Government, Locke used the term “property” and the idea of property ownership to describe the essential liberties with which every person is born. The American Founders chose to use the phrase “pursuit of happiness” in the Declaration expressly to broaden the idea of this natural right, not to limit it.

Yet we have a strong movement of existing and aspiring politicians whose philosophy directly and violently attacks the concept of private property ownership. We see this chiefly in tax policy, with proposals for wealth taxes, confiscatory estate taxes, high corporate taxes, and a graduated income tax system. All of these policies—admittedly—have little to do with raising revenue to fund legitimate functions of government as expressed in Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution. Rather, they have everything to do with destroying the wealth of individuals which wealth was earned lawfully and peacefully, and purportedly transferring that wealth to others who did not earn it.

The clarion call of Socialism/Communism is the destruction of private property rights. The first plank of Marx’s Manifesto calls for the abolition of private property in land. The second plank calls for a “heavy progressive or graduated income tax” purposefully to transfer wealth to the state. This is done, according to Marx, by making “despotic inroads on the rights of property.” In other words, Socialism/Communism stands for the outright theft of private property by the government.

Would you vote to fundamentally change the idea that you have an inherent right to the property you peacefully acquired through your honest labor? If so, in whom would you vest the power to determine how the fruits of your labor will be allocated or distributed? What government bureaucracy would you trust to make the final decision about what your labor is worth, and how much of its fruits you are allowed to keep for your family?

If you said “no” to my first question, then you must vote to uphold the right to the pursuit of happiness—the right to own and control the fruits of your own labor.

What is the Current Mind of America?

In 1825, Thomas Jefferson wrote a letter to Henry Lee to explain the thought processes behind the language found in the Declaration of Independence. Jefferson, the chief author of the document, said the intention was to capture and present to the world “an expression of the American mind.” That is to say, the Founders intended to craft a “plain and firm” statement to the world about the British government’s destruction of the rights to life, liberty and property in the Colonies. On this matter, Jefferson said, “there was but one opinion on this side of the water.” That opinion was that these rights were granted by God and no government had the lawful authority to usurp them.

Is this no longer the mind of America? Do we now truly wish to fundamentally change America? Are we to divorce ourselves from the principles of liberty and limited government that made us the freest and the richest nation the world has ever seen? And what would we have replace our fundamental principles of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness? Would we be better off under the European models of hereditary monarchy and tyrannical dictatorship that looted and oppressed populations for centuries?

Or would we leave the development of our system of government—like so many nations of the world throughout history and even today—subject to the whims of war, chance and conquest? As Patrick Henry said in his famous “Liberty or Death” speech, “Forbid it Almighty God!”

When you cast your vote in November, whether for national, state or local candidates, I encourage you to vote for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
