Nancy Pelosi’s rumored visit to Taiwan in the coming weeks has rung alarm bells in Beijing as well as Washington, while Taipei—caught once more in the crosshairs of rival powers—is keeping mum.

As both Joe Biden and Xi Jinping jostle for power in their respective capitals and for influence in the wider Indo-Pacific, the House speaker’s plans are quickly becoming the first real test of the “guardrails” the American president has been trying to establish with his Chinese counterpart for the last 18 months.

Experts told Newsweek the Taiwanese government is right to keep a low profile—Taipei is yet to receive Pelosi’s itinerary, a Foreign Ministry spokesperson said—but few can safely predict the scale of the fallout that might ensue if Pelosi lands in the island’s capital in August as part of her bipartisan congressional delegation’s wider trip across Asia.

When it comes to dealings with the Chinese Communist Party, Pelosi, 82, has experience. The California Democrat has been a long-term critic of China’s ruling party over its human rights record and its trampling of civil liberties in Hong Kong. In 2020, she claimed to be “the most hated American in China,” a reputation she reinforced last year by becoming the first U.S. leader to back the eventual diplomatic boycott of the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. Whistleblower: Same FBI Boss Who Shut Down Hunter Biden Dirt Also Pressured Agents to Juice Domestic Violent Extremism Stats

The same senior FBI agent who allegedly shut down investigative activity related to Hunter Biden also allegedly sought to pad the FBI’s number of “domestic violent extremism” cases, a whistleblower informed House Judiciary Committee ranking member Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) on Wednesday.

Assistant Special Agent in Charge Timothy Thibault, whom Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) previously identified in a letter to the FBI about Hunter Biden, is also one of the unidentified agents implicated in an unrelated letter Jordan wrote to the FBI on Wednesday, Jordan confirmed to Breitbart News.

The Ohio Republican said his initial reaction upon learning about the connection was, “Wow, this is how serious it is.”

“I think the real takeaway for all of us is, just further confirming that the Justice Department is so darn political, which is frightening,” Jordan said, noting he plans to further pursue the matter.

Jordan had sent a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray on Wednesday revealing that whistleblowers informed his office that “FBI officials are pressuring agents to reclassify cases as ‘domestic violent extremism’ even if the cases do not meet the criteria for such a classification.”

Pro-Abortion Crowd Silences Women Who Regret Them

Abortion proponents have embraced a drastic shift in messaging over the past few decades. In the 1990s, Bill Clinton’s “safe, legal, and rare” was the standard line — which is a far cry from today’s well-traveled maxims like “Free Abortion on Demand Without Apology” and “Shout Your Abortion.” Indeed, in the heart of abortion’s most ardent base, the strategy entails encouraging pride over shame and celebration over regret. But does this shift reflect the experiences of those who are disinclined to “shout” their abortions?

There’s an accusation lurking in the subtext of the abortion debate over abortion regret, implying that no woman should feel bad “terminating a pregnancy” if it was never suggested that abortion itself is bad. How paternalistic. First, “Big Abortion” sells women short by suggesting they will never be able to handle both a career and a family, and then they sell them an abortion. And now, abortion zealots make themselves the masters of how women must feel about it.

The pro-life movement at large has consistently perceived two victims in an abortion scenario — a child whose life is on the line, and a mother who is vulnerable to an industry that profits from violence and deceit. Those selling abortion must sever the one-of-a-kind physical relationship between mother and gestating child through abortion — lethal pregnancy violence that will be painfully understood by a mother when she finds herself empty of life.

Widespread abortion regret is supported by data, yet seldom reported. The physical and psychological risks of abortion are well known to those of us who support post-abortive women. New studies have shown that women who have abortions are 81 percent more likely to experience subsequent mental health problems. This includes being 110 percent more likely to abuse alcohol and 115 percent more likely to develop suicidal behavior following abortion. Another study notes women who ended their first pregnancy by abortion are five times more likely to report subsequent substance abuse than women who carried the pregnancy to term and four times more likely to report substance abuse compared to those whose first pregnancy ended naturally. Woke U.S. Scientist Changes Name of ‘Asian Giant Hornet’ to Be Less Offensive to China

A woke American scientist got the name of the Asian giant hornet, commonly referred to as a “murder hornet,” changed this week in an apparent attempt to be less offensive to China.

The giant insects can decimate entire populations of honeybees, literally ripping their heads off, and their painful stings can be potentially be fatal to humans if they are allergic.

Asian giant hornets have recently been spotted in small numbers in the Pacific Northwest, where officials have rushed to exterminate them before they become a permanent fixture of local habitats in the U.S.

The Entomological Society of America (ESA) now demands that the insect be called the “Northern giant hornet” to avoid stigmas amid anti-Asian sentiment due to the coronavirus pandemic, which originated in China.

Longest J6 Jail Sentence Levied Thus Far Goes To… A Black Guy

A 56-year-old black man was sentenced to five years and three months in prison Tuesday for his involvement in the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol.

Mark Ponder, a resident of Washington D.C., and former constituent services coordinator for the D.C. city council, pleaded guilty in April to assaulting three police officers with poles. His sentence is tied for the longest jail sentence levied so far against those involved in the riot, which has often been dubbed as “white supremacist” by prominent Democrats and officials.

“The violent, deadly insurrection on the Capitol nine months ago, it was about white supremacy, in my opinion,” President Joe Biden said at an event in October of last year.

“These displays of white supremacy are not new,” Lecia Brooks, chief of staff for the Southern Poverty Law Center, said of the riot. “Now it’s just reached a fever pitch.” . . .

“The attackers on Jan. 6 included a number … of what we would call militia violent extremism. And we have had some already arrested who we would put in the category of racially motivated violent extremism, white, as well,” [Christopher] Wray said, according to the Washington Post.

Equity Agenda Funded by Biden’s Infrastructure Law

A new grant application released by the Department of Energy (DOE) on Wednesday showed President Joe Biden’s trillion-dollar infrastructure law is being used to fund diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs in solar power companies.

The $10 million grant seeks to incentivize the creation of DEI programs in solar power unions and bolster underrepresented minority employment in the solar power industry, according to the grant. The grant originates from funding provided by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which was signed into law in January.

Individual grant recipients will receive up to $1.5 million, the grant states.

Unions are a vital vehicle for the project’s ambitions, the grant states, as funding should “encourage meaningful engagement” and “participation” in labor unions and “underserved minority communities.”

Four Fairbanks Children Dead After Teenager Opens Fire on Siblings: Authorities

Alaska authorities are investigating the deaths of four children, one of whom is believed to have killed the others and himself, according to state troopers.

Alaska State Troopers were alerted to a report of a shooting north of Fairbanks, Alaska, at 4:17 p.m. on Tuesday, where the troopers found four children dead from apparent gunshot wounds in a building, according to troopers. The troopers believe a 15-year-old boy among the victims used a gun to shoot three of his siblings, ages 5, 8, and 17, before turning the gun on himself, according to NBC News.

The gun recovered by authorities was a “family gun but beyond that, it’s all still part of the ongoing investigation,” said Tim DeSpain, a spokesman for the Alaska State Troopers.

‘The Big Guy’ Hunter’s Biz Partner Called Biden in Panicked Text After Post’s Laptop Story

One of Hunter Biden’s former business partners referred to Joe Biden as “the Big Guy” in a panicked message the same day The Post broke news of the infamous laptop from hell left behind by the president’s son, The Post has learned.

James Gilliar, a former British special forces officer with ties to UK intelligence services, discussed The Post’s exclusive report with an unnamed person on Oct. 14, 2020, according to the message provided by a whistleblower to GOP congressional investigators probing the laptop.

In the message, Gilliar, 58, reassured the person that the revelations about Biden’s apparent involvement in his son’s foreign deals would not be damaging — regardless of the outcome of the 2020 presidential election.

Gilliar was asked if “Hunter and/or Joe or Joe’s campaign [would] try to make it ‘Oh, we were never involved’ … and try to basically make us collateral damage?” . . .

Hostage-Like Video From Joe Biden Is Really Freaking Everybody Out; It’s Worse Than We Initially Knew

By Townhall. . .I covered the disturbingly viral video from President Joe Biden in which he didn’t blink for nearly 20 seconds as he made some digs at former President Donald Trump and blabbered on about how “you can’t be pro-insurrection and pro-cop, you can’t be pro-insurrection and pro-democracy, you can’t be pro-insurrection and pro-American.” Well, as it turns out, there was more footage, as our friends at Twitchy covered, and it contains sloppy cuts.

Kyle Martinsen, who does rapid response for RNC Research, tweeted out such footage later that night, noting he did not edit it, but the White House certainly did.

A major complaint from the video published Tuesday afternoon was that the president didn’t blink, once. His voice also sounded croaky and hoarse though.

While Biden does blink in the raw footage video, his voice remains problematic. It even sounds like he’s slurring his words. “This law does so much more, it saves lives, including yours,” he says at one point. “It’ll help you do your job, but it’s just a start,” he says at another.

The additional footage also gives deeper context to Biden referencing being “pro-cop,” despite how members of his party have supported defunding the police.

Biden Goes 40 Seconds Without Blinking, Raising Health Concerns

He has already outlived the average life expectancy for American men (75.1) by several years. For these reasons and many others, amateur health experts were alarmed after analyzing video of Biden’s recent address to black law enforcement executives on Monday.

At one point in the video, for example, Biden appeared to speak for at least 40 seconds without blinking his eyes. Zelensky and Zelenska were photographed by famed American photographer Annie Leibovitz for the Vogue digital cover which has been promoted across the fashion magazine’s social media platforms.

The cover, featuring Zelenska, reads “Portrait of Bravery: Ukraine’s First Lady Olena Zelenska” on the steps of the presidential office compound in Kyiv, Ukraine. Zelensky, who posed alongside his wife, can be seen chatting with Leibovitz in a behind-the-scenes video posted by Vogue.

While Zelensky and Zelenska pose for Vogue, American taxpayers have footed the bill for tens of billions of dollars in foreign aid to Ukraine even as inflation and skyrocketing gas prices cripple working and middle class American families and the United States heads toward a recession.

In one portion of his interview with Vogue, Zelensky shrugged off the crushing economic realities facing American taxpayers as they help fund his country’s war with Russia — plunging the U.S. further into inflationary pressures.

Zelensky Responds to Americans Unhappy With Spending to Support Ukraine

By Newsweek. Ukraine’s President Volodymr Zelensky said that Americans balking at the cost of U.S. support for Kyiv’s fight against Russian aggression should keep in mind “we are fighting for absolutely communal values.”

In an interview with journalist and broadcaster Piers Morgan, Zelensky was asked whether he was worried that Americans might be concerned at the amount Washington was spending in its military support for Kyiv’s forces. . .

But Zelensky said the war that Washington was helping Kyiv fight was “still the war against those values that are professed in the United States and in Europe.”
