More Than 2 Dozen States to Restrict Abortions

Thirteen states in the country are poised to enact immediate abortion bans and at least 13 more could quickly follow suit after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade on Friday, leaving abortion rights up to the states to decide.

At least 13 states in the country have so-called “trigger laws” banning most abortions that will take effect immediately or within weeks of Roe v. Wade being overturned.

According to the Guttmacher Institute, a pro-abortion rights research group, those states are Arkansas, Idaho, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Wyoming, which just passed its trigger law in April.

There are also five additional states – Alabama, Arizona, Michigan, West Virginia and Wisconsin – that still have an abortion ban on the books from before Roe v. Wade that will go into effect now that the 1973 landmark law is overturned.

The Democratic governors of Michigan and Wisconsin have pushed back against those laws: Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer filed a lawsuit in April asking the Michigan Supreme Court to stop enforcement of the state’s 1931 abortion ban, and Wisconsin Gov. China Rages Over COVID-19 ‘Lie’ After Bombshell Report

China has rubbished bombshell reports World Health Organization chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said the Covid-19 virus emerged from a laboratory.

A senior government source reportedly told the Mail on Sunday Dr Tedros believes a “catastrophic accident” led to the virus escaping from the Wuhan Institute of Virology at the end of 2019.

Dr Tedros’ comments regarding the virus’s origins have slowly shifted to being more critical of China’s response in the pandemic’s infancy. . .

Addressing the report on Wednesday, China’s foreign ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin rejected the Mail on Sunday’s claims.

“The report you mentioned is entirely false and the Director-General completely refutes the story in the article,” he responded, saying the WHO has confirmed Dr Tedros’ alleged comments were never made in public or private. Dem City Primary Candidate Reportedly Appointed Dead Activist to Local Role

A New York City primary candidate is under fire for previously appointing a dead activist and several unknown residents to positions in the Brooklyn Democratic Party.

Dionne Brown-Jordan is on the ballot Tuesday challenging two-term Democratic Assemblywoman Mathylde Frontus, who represents the 46th Assembly District, which covers all of Coney Island and Sea Gate as well as parts of Bath Beach, Bay Ridge, Brighton Beach, Dyker Heights and Gravesend. Brown-Jordan has served as the Brooklyn district leader for about two years and is the assistant treasurer of the Brooklyn Democratic Party.

Though she received an endorsement from Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., Brown-Jordan’s candidacy has been mired amid reports revealing that she used her role as district leader to appoint late Coney Island housing activist Alfreida Davis to a seat on the Brooklyn Democratic Party Committee on Dec. 1, 2020.

Davis, however, died a month earlier on Nov. 1, 2020, following brain surgery complications, New York Daily News reported.

75% Of Teens Not Getting Enough Exercise, Study Finds

New research indicates that a large majority of teens aren’t getting enough exercise, particularly teenage girls.

A study coming out of the University of Georgia found that 75% of high school students in the state do not meet daily physical activity guidelines. The study surveyed over 360,000 students (48% males and 52% females) about how physically active they were as well as their school environment.

“Over time, the state has observed declining levels of physical activity among all adolescents, but the rate is higher among female middle and high school students,” the study’s lead author Janani Thapa said in a university news release.

On the whole, only 35% of female students assessed were considered active, compared to 57% of male students. The study did note that physical activity declined as the students moved from 9th grade to 12th grade.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says that kids and teens ages 6 through 17 years should undertake an hour or more of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity daily. (Read more from “75% Of Teens Not Getting Enough Exercise, Study Finds” HERE)

Christian Pregnancy Center Set on Fire After Roe v. Wade Decision

A faith-based center for pregnant women in Colorado was vandalized and burned Saturday, and authorities are looking for those responsible.

Law enforcement officers were alerted to a fire at Life Choices in Longmont that morning, and upon arrival they saw the building was on fire and had messages scrawled on it that referenced the overturning of Roe v. Wade, according to the New York Post.

In a social media message, Longmont Fire, Police and Community Health and Resilience said the building sustained “fire and heavy smoke damage,” noting the property had been vandalized with black paint.

The agency added the case was being investigated as arson.

One photo showed the phrase, “Bans Off Our Bodies” spray painted at the entrance with the anarchy symbol above it on the wall.

Ghislaine Maxwell on Suicide Watch

Ghislaine Maxwell, the late Jeffrey Epstein’s former girlfriend and confidant, was placed on suicide watch, even though she is not suicidal, according to her attorney.

Attorney Bobbi Sternheim said in a letter Saturday that his client, who is being held in a federal detention center in Brooklyn, may need to postpone her sentencing, set to take place on Monday. Prosecutors requested that Maxwell, 60, be sentenced to a minimum of 30 years and up to 55 years in prison for her role in recruiting and grooming young women to be sexually abused by Epstein.

Officials abruptly moved Maxwell to solitary confinement and placed her on suicide watch on Friday without a psychological evaluation and “without justification,” Sternheim told U.S. Circuit Judge Alison Nathan, according to CNN. Sternheim said he “met with Ms. Maxwell today” and insisted she “is not suicidal,” per the letter.

“If Ms. Maxwell remains on suicide watch, is prohibited from reviewing legal materials prior to sentencing, becomes sleep-deprived, and is denied sufficient time to meet with and confer with counsel, we will be formally moving on Monday for an adjournment,” the attorney added. Green Day Frontman Renouncing Citizenship Over Roe Reversal

Green Day front man Billie Joe Armstrong says he is lost to the U.S. forever. On Friday night he declared “f**k America” before adding he was “renouncing his citizenship” in the aftermath of the SCOTUS abortion ruling.

The landmark Supreme Court decision in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health case, which overturned the long-standing 1973 Roe v. Wade judgement, sparked violent public upheaval across the country over the past 72-hours, as Breitbart News reported.

Now it has met a response across the pond.

Democrat Governor Gretchen Whitmer Does Not Condemn Leftist Violence When Asked About Threats

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI) did not condemn violence toward pro-life groups and individuals during an interview on Sunday when she was asked about “active threats” in her state.

Whitmer made the remarks during an interview on CBS News’ “Face the Nation” with host Margaret Brennan as the topic of the U.S. Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade dominated the segment.

“I want to ask you about this homeland security warning that domestic violent extremists may intensify violence,” Brennan said. “In the bulletin that CBS obtained, it specifically mentioned an incident in Michigan, related to a pro-abortion rights group.”

One of the incidents mentioned in the memo “involved vandalism claimed by ‘Jane’s Revenge,’” a far-Left group, “on a building that houses a U.S. Representative’s campaign office and a pro-life advocacy group.”

Joe Biden Signs Gun Legislation Bill Into Law

President Joe Biden signed a bipartisan gun legislation into law, the largest gun control bill in nearly 30 years.

“Time is of the essence. Lives will be saved,” Biden said despite the real issue being the person behind the gun, not the gun itself.

“From Columbine to Sandy Hook to Charleston, Orlando, Las Vegas, Parkland, El Paso, Atlanta, Buffalo, Uvalde and for the shootings that happen every day in the streets. How many times have you heard that, ‘just do something, for God’s sake just do something’?” Biden said, adding “today we did.”

WATCH: Rudy Giuliani Slapped While Campaigning for Son in New York

Former New York City Mayor and Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani was slapped on the back Sunday at a Staten Island grocery store, by a worker who has since been arrested and charged with second-degree assault.

The 78-year-old was out and about in the conservative-leaning NYC borough campaigning for his son, Andrew, who is seeking the GOP nomination for governor, when the incident occurred. Surveillance footage obtained by the New York Post showed America’s mayor talking to a small group of shoppers at a local ShopRite when a store worker came from behind and slapped him. Giuliani was then grabbed by a woman to his left, who he said may have prevented him from falling forward.

The worker, who police have yet to name, then began heckling the famous Republican about abortion, a major national topic in the wake of the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade on Friday.

“All of a sudden, I feel this, ‘Bam!’ on my back,” Giuliani told The Post. “I don’t know if they helped me not fall down, but I just about fell down, but I didn’t.”
