White House Aide Warns Journalist Against Asking Biden Questions During Event

A White House official warned reporters to not even “think about” asking President Joe Biden questions as the president began a round table event at the White House on Wednesday.

Biden was meeting with CEOs of energy companies in an effort to push his Build Back Better agenda, which is dead in the water in Congress. Reporters began shouting questions to Biden as he concluded his opening remarks and staffers began herding the press corps out of the room. White House pool reporters say one aide was concerned Biden would start taking questions. The aide warned a reporter, who was lingering in the room.

“Don’t think about it, Matt,” she said, according to the pool.

Biden’s White House has faced criticism for a lack of transparency in its first year, with staff often shouting down reporters and Biden himself being less available than other modern presidents. Biden held fewer than half as many press conferences in his first year than any five of his most recent predecessors. Ford Wants to Hide Spy Drones in Autonomous Cars

Among the many challenges facing the autonomous car industry is how to keep an eye on the condition of the vehicles while they’re out and about.

Interior cameras, like those installed in the latest Tesla models, can make sure passengers aren’t damaging the cabin, but what about the outside of the vehicles?

Ford, which co-owns the Argo AI autonomous car company that’s planning to launch a ride-hailing service soon, has now patented a way to do just that.

The idea is to hide an inspection drone inside the trunk or even the glove compartment that would be deployed between rides to get a look at the vehicle.

The car can automatically open the glove compartment and lower a window for the drone to fly out, circle around the car taking pictures and either send them back to headquarters or use artificial intelligence to recognize damage and summon immediate help itself, if necessary. Nyet Again! Russia’s Olympic Darling Believed to Have Failed Drug Test

The darling of the 2022 Olympics is at the center of a brewing drug controversy.

Kamila Valieva, the 15-year-old Russian skating sensation, failed a drug test taken before the team competition, according to reports from the website Inside the Games and a Russian newspaper.

The news came after Valieva led the Russian team to gold on Monday, when she twice landed a historic quad jump. The teen figure skater became the first woman to land a quad jump at the Olympics.

The reports, labeled a “legal issue,” caused the medal ceremony to be delayed.

The International Testing Agency (ITA), which is conducting drug testing at Beijing 2022, released a statement saying it is aware of the reports about the situation. (Read more from “Nyet Again! Russia’s Olympic Darling Believed to Have Failed Drug Test” HERE)

Beto 2.0: ‘I’m Not Interested in Taking Anything From Anyone’

Texas Democrat gubernatorial candidate Beto O’Rourke appeared to back off his pledge to take away AR-15s on Tuesday, suggesting instead that he is “not interested in taking anything from anyone.”

KLTV quoted O’Rourke speaking in Tyler, Texas, talking about defending the Second Amendment and saying, “I’m not interested in taking anything from anyone.”

But O’Rourke still criticized constitutional carry, saying:

I want to make sure that we protect our fellow Texans far better than we’re doing right now. And that we listen to law enforcement, which Greg Abbott refused to do. He turned his back on them when he signed that permitless carry bill that endangers the lives of law enforcement in a state that’s seen more cops and sheriff’s deputies gunned down than in any other.

Winter of Our Discontent: Freedom Convoy Supporters Block Traffic at Canada’s Busiest Border Crossing; Alaska Freedom Convoy Rolls on in Support (VIDEO)

By Breitbart. Supporters of Canada’s anti-mandate, trucker-led Freedom Convoy movement shut down traffic on the Ambassador Bridge on Monday.

Located between Windsor, Ontario, and Detroit, Michigan, the bridge is part of the busiest border crossing between Canada and the United States.

Protesters blocked the Ambassador Bridge exit onto Huron Church Road in Windsor on Monday, obliging the police to recommend an alternate route for motorists. The resulting traffic jam spread through Windsor and eventually reached across the border into the United States.

The Ambassador Bridge was closed entirely for part of Monday night and Tuesday morning. Police advised motorists, particularly those driving commercial vehicles, to reroute to an entirely different bridge, the Bluewater in Sarnia, if they needed to cross the U.S. border.

A tunnel from Windsor to Detroit was also recommended as an alternative by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).

Alaska Freedom Convoy Rolls on in Support of Canadian Truckers

By Breitbart. Truckers traveled from Anchorage to Eagle River, Alaska, over the weekend in support of a massive truck convoy in Ottawa, Canada, to protest coronavirus vaccine mandates in order to conduct cross-border business.

More than 100 truck drivers took part in the Alaskan convoy, the Anchorage Daily News reported.

“Truck drivers and other service providers since Jan. 15 can only enter Canada if they are fully vaccinated,” the Associated Press reported. “A week later, the U.S. required vaccinations from essential non-resident travelers.”

“We have to have the shot stamps on our medical cards in order to go out of state, and we don’t want them,” Jeremy Speldrich, a truck driver with GMG General, Inc. of Anchorage,” said in the AP report. “Mandates should be our choice, whether you want the shots or not.”

AP reported that a second convoy of truckers drove from Eagle River north to the Wasilla area in a show of support of their northern brothers. And similar events were reported in Fairbanks and late last month in Juneau. (Read more from “Alaska Freedom Convoy Rolls on in Support of Canadian Truckers” HERE)

WATCH: Olympians in Tears Over Poor Living Conditions, Lack of Food at Winter Games

. . .Complaints from athletes and officials are pouring in about the alleged poor living conditions, dining options, isolating rooms, and debilitating weather conditions, according to social media posts.

German Alpine skiing coach Christian Schwaiger criticized the catering in Beijing and raised concern about limited food options to fuel the high-performing pro athletes.

“The catering is extremely questionable because really it’s not catering at all. “There are no hot meals,” Schwaiger said, via the Sun. . .

Valeria Vasnetsova, a Russian biathlon competitor, took to Instagram to discuss her experiences under Beijing’s strict quarantine conditions.

“I’ve been getting this for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for five days now. I’ve lost a lot of weight and my bones are sticking out. I can’t eat anything else, I don’t know anything about my corona tests,” Vasnetsova wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post. Trump Impeachment Attorney Canceled by Law School, Civil Rights Law Group

An attorney who represented President Donald Trump during the recent impeachment trial says a law school canceled a civil rights law course he was going to teach and he was suspended from a civil rights lawyer email discussion list. . .

Schoen delivered an impassioned argument on the first day of the trial for why the Senate didn’t have jurisdiction to try a former president. At the conclusion of his remarks, he appeared to be choking back tears as he read an 1849 poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow titled “The Building of the Ship.” Schoen told The Epoch Times that he chose the poem—and the quote from President Abraham Lincoln that preceded it—because he views the days of Lincoln as the closest parallel to the current division in the United States.

“I think we’re in a very perilous, divided time. The election itself showed that, but I think all of the rhetoric shows it also,” Schoen said. . .

Schoen isn’t the only attorney facing repercussions for defending the president.

Attorney Michael van der Veen said vandals broke the windows in his home and defaced the house with graffiti. Van der Veen has had to move his children to a secret location and hire armed guards to protect his home and workplace. ‘Wait and See’: China Vows Strong Response as U.S. Prepares to Arm Taiwan

China has demanded the United States revoke a possible arms agreement with Taiwan in support of its Patriot missile systems—a deal Washington believes will improve the island’s security and help maintain political stability.

The Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office, Taiwan’s de facto embassy in Washington. D.C, requested the purchase of equipment and services worth $100 million over five years, said the Pentagon’s Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA).

Congress was notified of the State Department’s approval on Monday.

Taiwan’s armed forces operate a number of the American-made, surface-to-air and anti-ballistic missile systems, whose sole purpose is to deter and intercept Chinese aircraft and projectiles in the event of a conflict across the Taiwan Strait. The foreign military sale—the first involving Taiwan this year and the second under the Biden administration—will “sustain, maintain, and improve the Patriot Air Defense System,” according to DSCA’s statement. Report: Pandemic Caused Smaller ‘Baby Bust’ Than Expected

Provisional data on the number of births in the United States showed that the COVID-19 pandemic might have had less of an impact on a “baby bust” than was originally anticipated.

The Wall Street Journal reported that the United States experienced around 7,000 fewer births in the initial nine months of 2021 when contrasted with the same time period a year before, per provisional data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS).

“Starting in June 2021, monthly births began to show consistent gains over their year-earlier levels, which reflect pre-pandemic conceptions, and that mostly offset declines in the first two months of 2021, the data show,” the Journal noted, adding that the 2021 numbers are nationwide provisional estimates and “[t]he federal government will issue a final count later this year, a CDC spokesman said. The provisional data are rounded to the nearest thousand and might differ from the final numbers by as much as 2%, according to the NCHS.”

Some experts believed the COVID-19 pandemic would have a much larger impact on the birth rate across the country. In December, economists Melissa Kearney and Phillip Levine reportedly put forward numbers demonstrating how the pandemic resulted in 60,000 missing births from October 2020 through February 2021. “Earlier in the pandemic, they predicted the health crisis and economic uncertainty would lead to 300,000 to a half million fewer births last year,” the outlet added.

“The Covid baby bust doesn’t seem to be nearly as large as I thought it would be,” said Kearney. (Read more from “Report: Pandemic Caused Smaller ‘Baby Bust’ Than Expected” HERE)

Fundraisers Aiding Riots, Crime, Abortion, and Genital Mutilation That Gofundme Didn’t Shut Down

While GoFundMe races to confiscate millions of dollars from Canadians protesting the country’s coercive Covid response, the left-wing fundraising site has proven itself very willing to help raise funds for criminal riots, abortions, and genital mutilation. . .

GoFundMe cited one of its terms of service that “prohibits the promotion of violence and harassment.” The group used similar logic to suspend fundraising campaigns for Kyle Rittenhouse, who was acquitted of all charges after he shot three men in self-defense. GoFundMe tried to defend its decision then by claiming that “GoFundMe’s Terms of Service prohibit raising money for the legal defense of an alleged violent crime,” despite the platform’s willingness to crowdsource for arrested rioters. . .

One GoFundMe fundraising campaign entitled “CHARGED WITH BANK ROBBERY DURING GEORGE FLOYD RIOT” is seeking bail money for Dominique Maxey, who was arrested in May 2020 and charged with bank larceny. . .

GoFundMe also helps people to raise money to be able to kill their unwanted children.

In a listing titled “Help fund my abortion,” Sofia Abdul has raised $183 toward an $800 goal to put her child to death. (Read more from “Fundraisers Aiding Riots, Crime, Abortion, and Genital Mutilation That Gofundme Didn’t Shut Down” HERE)
