DOJ Shuts Down Investigation Into Capitol Police Shooting of Ashli Babbitt

Months after the Department of Justice (DOJ) opted not to charge the unnamed U.S. Capitol Police officer who killed Ashli Babbitt on Jan. 6, a memo obtained by NBC News indicates the investigation will be fully closed.

Babbitt, a 35-year-old Air Force veteran, was shot by the “service pistol” of an officer during the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. She was trying to climb through a smashed glass door near the Speaker’s lobby. After receiving assistance from a Capitol Police emergency response team, Babbitt died at Washington Hospital Center.

The memo, written by the commander of the Capitol Police’s Office of Personal Responsibility, states that “no further action will be taken in this matter,” according to NBC. The information comes on the heels of the DOJ announcing in April that it would not levy charges against the officer.

“Specifically, the investigation revealed no evidence to establish that, at the time the officer fired a single shot at Ms. Babbitt, the officer did not reasonably believe that it was necessary to do so in self-defense or in defense of the Members of Congress and others evacuating the House Chamber,” the department said in a press release at the time. Donald Trump: Leaving Americans to Die in Afghanistan Is ‘Dereliction of Duty’

Former President Donald Trump stated Friday that President Joe Biden’s leaving Americans to die in Afghanistan is a “dereliction of duty.”

“Leaving Americans behind for death is an unforgivable dereliction of duty, which will go down in infamy,” Trump’s statement read regarding President Joe Biden’s chaotic evacuation from the failed state of Afghanistan.

Trump also criticized Biden on Thursday by explaining how a proper Afghan withdrawal should have been conducted.

“First you bring out all of the American citizens. Then you bring out ALL equipment. Then you bomb the bases into smithereens,” Trump’s statement said. “AND THEN YOU BRING OUT THE MILITARY.”

Chinese Embassy Calls For WHO Investigation of U.S. Lab

The Chinese embassy called for a World Health Organization investigation into a United States military lab more than 7,500 miles away from the first documented cases of COVID-19 in Wuhan, China.

Chinese embassy spokesman Liu Pengyu responded to a Washington Free Beacon report on a Chinese propaganda campaign that claims the coronavirus leaked from a military lab in Fort Detrick, Md., saying the campaign not only reflects “serious concerns” but also warrants a full WHO investigation into the U.S. military installation.

“About Fort Detrick, the US has remained silent on the serious concerns raised by the international community, including US media,” Liu told the Free Beacon. “The US side must understand that the international community has every reason to raise questions about Fort Detrick, which has a poor track record and is notorious for breaches in lab and contaminant leak, and demand clarification and explanation from the US side and call on the WHO to conduct a thorough investigation into it. Biden Helped Evacuate the French Embassy While Leaving American Citizens to the Mercy of the Taliban

President Joe Biden boasted during a press conference Friday that his administration supported the evacuation of the French embassy in Kabul while at the same time American citizens are being told the U.S. government cannot escort them to the airport.

The U.S. Embassy in Kabul informed American citizens on Thursday that the Biden administration “cannot ensure safe passage to the airport.” The message came one day after Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said the U.S. military lacks the capability to escort Americans trapped behind enemy lines to the airport.

However, the Biden administration did have the capability to provide support to a convoy of hundreds of French people from their embassy to the airport, the president said Friday.

“We’re also facilitating flights for our allies and our partners, and working in close operational coordination with NATO on this evacuation. Why VP Harris Is Leaving U.S. as Biden Takes Fire From All Sides Over Kabul Crisis

Vice President Kamala Harris on Friday is leaving for a trip to Vietnam and Singapore, just as the Biden administration is grappling with ongoing chaos in Afghanistan.

The trip to Asia includes stops in Singapore and Vietnam and comes after she traveled to Mexico and Guatemala in June. Senior administration officials said the trip would focus on three issues: global health, economic partnership and security.

The trip to Singapore will include conversations with Singapore President Halimah Yacob and a bilateral meeting with the prime minister. The vice president will deliver remarks aboard a U.S. combat ship outlining plans for U.S. engagement in the region.

In Vietnam, she will hold a virtual meeting with Association of Southeast Asian Nations health ministers and visit a new regional office of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). On the way back to the U.S., she will visit troops stationed in Hawaii.

Harris will likely use the trip to address the issue of growing Chinese power and influence – including the communist regime’s efforts to take control of the South China Sea and issues regarding trade and security. GOP Congresswoman To Submit Joe Biden Impeachment Articles

Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) has said she is going to submit articles of impeachment against President Joe Biden imminently.

Speaking alongside Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) at an event in Iowa on Thursday, Greene said: “Yes I do have articles of impeachment drawn up, to submit tomorrow.”

In a clip shared by RSBN, she continued: “Because I believe in firing people when they’re corrupt and they do a bad job. And Joe Biden is failing America and he needs to be impeached.” . . .

Greene’s comments come as Biden continues to face criticism over the unfolding situation in Afghanistan and how the U.S. withdrawal from the nation has been handled. The Republican representative called Biden a “piece of s***” in a video in which she criticized him over Americans who have been unable to leave Afghanistan. Filmmaker Michael Moore Compares Taliban to Baptists

Following the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan — culminating with the fall of the capital of Kabul last weekend — far-left filmmaker Michael Moore gave an interview to Variety and let loose with a particularly jaw-dropping observation.

The bloodthirsty, misogynistic Taliban — who lop off the heads of infidels and torture and rape whomever they please — are comparable to Southern Baptists. . .

At one point in the interview, Moore acknowledged his concern that the Taliban might erase progress for women in Afghanistan — but as leftists often do, he appeared to try his hand at softening that natural observation by emphasizing that America also has problems with “religious fundamentalism,” as the magazine termed it.

“They’re religious nuts, but we’ve got those here, too,” Moore told Variety. “But [the Taliban] said yesterday in their press conference that girls’ schools are going to remain open. Okay. We’ll see. They also said they are going to operate under Islamic law. That’s exactly how a lot of Southern Baptists want it to be here, too. In a lot of parts of the country, we are following dictates of conservative Christians. It’s wrong there, and it’s wrong here.”

State Apologizes for ‘Fat-Shaming’ To Encourage Vaccination

The Delaware Division of Public Health has issued an apology for a vaccination memo that some people believed was fat-shaming to encourage vaccination.

WBOC-TV reports that Delaware’s health department issued an apology following the controversy spurned on by the ad.

The since-deleted ad — which was shared to the department’s Facebook page — read, “Remember when you gained 10 pounds from stress eating? … You would have to run five miles a day for a week just to lose one pound of fat.”

The ad continued, “#GettingVaccinated sounds a lot easier. Protect yourself and those you love from the #Delta variant. #VaxxUpDE.” Following outcry, the agency pulled the ad from its social media page and issued an apology. . .

In a statement, a spokesperson for the agency said, “We have updated an early post promoting vaccination. We understand some were offended by the post and we sincerely apologize for our word choice. It was not intentional. Report Claims Multiple Fatalities After Taliban Open Fire at Afghan Independence Rally

By Breitbart. Fatalities were reported on Thursday after the Taliban opened fire at an Independence Day rally in a regional Afghanistan town where protesters were flying the flag used by the former Western-backed government.

The Taliban, which was lauded by Britain’s Chief of the Defence Staff, General Sir Nick Carter, as wanting “an Afghanistan that is inclusive for all” only yesterday, is claimed to have attacked the rally where protesters flew the black, red, and green flag of the now-former government in the Kunar region’s provincial capital of Asadabad, according to Reuters.

There are conflicting accounts of the exact events in Asadabad. While Reuters notes a flag-waving rally marking the anniversary of Afghanistan gaining independence from Britain in 1919 being attacked, Al Jazeera claims the shooting followed a member of the crowd stabbing a Taliban fighter with a knife. . .

Report: Here’s How Much Weaponry The Taliban Are Believed To Have Seized From U.S.

The Taliban has seized dozens of aircraft and thousands of weapons, vehicles and pieces of high-tech equipment in Afghanistan that was funded by the U.S. government, Reuters reported.

Billions of dollars worth of military equipment that the U.S. gave to the now-defunct Afghan military has been obtained by Taliban insurgents, officials with knowledge of the situation told Reuters. The massive weapons stockpile left behind in the Middle Eastern nation includes valuable technology such as night-vision goggles, unmanned aerial vehicles and Black Hawk combat helicopters. . .

Current and former officials said the federal government is increasingly concerned the technology could be obtained or sold to U.S. enemies like Iran, China and Russia which have vowed to maintain a diplomatic relationship with the insurgents who now possess the weaponry, Reuters reported. The Taliban invaded Afghanistan’s capital city Kabul on Sunday, triggering the sudden collapse of the Western-supported Afghan government.

Officials estimated the Taliban, which controls the vast majority of the war-torn Middle Eastern nation, is in possession of 2,000 armored vehicles and up to 40 aircraft, including Black Hawks and pricey ScanEagle drones, according to Reuters. Since 2003, the U.S. has given more than 600,000 infantry weapons like rifles, 162,000 pieces of communications equipment and 16,000 night-vision goggles to the Afghan security forces.
