Former Top State Dept Investigator Says COVID-19 Outbreak May Have Resulted From Bioweapons Research Accident

As top U.S. officials prepare to meet their Chinese counterparts for their first face-to-face meeting during the Biden administration, the State Department’s former lead investigator who oversaw the Task Force into the COVID-19 virus origin tells Fox News that he not only believes the virus escaped from the Wuhan Institute of Virology, but that it may have been the result of research that the Chinese military, or People’s Liberation Army, was doing on a bioweapon.

“The Wuhan Institute of Virology is not the National Institute of Health,” David Asher, now a senior fellow at the Hudson Institute told Fox News in an exclusive interview. “It was operating a secret, classified program. In my view, and I’m just one person, my view is it was a biological weapons program.”

Asher has long been a “follow the money” guy who has worked on some of the most classified intelligence investigations for the State Department and Treasury under both Democratic and Republican administrations. He led the team that uncovered the international nuclear procurement network run by the father of Pakistan’s nuclear program, AQ Khan, and uncovered key parts of North Korea’s secret uranium enrichment. He believes the Chinese Communist Party has been involved in a massive cover-up during the past 14 months.

“And if you believe, as I do, that this might have been a weapons vector gone awry, not deliberately released, but in development and then somehow leaked, this has turned out to be the greatest weapon in history,” Asher said during a panel discussion at the Hudson Institute: The Origins of the COVID-10: Policy Implications and Lessons for the Future. “You’ve taken out 15 to 20 percent of global GDP. You’ve killed millions of people. The Chinese population has been barely affected. Video Shows Quick-Thinking Chick-Fil-A Customer Help Cops Apprehend an Escaping Suspect

A customer waiting at a Chick-fil-a drive-thru is being praised for his quick thinking after he helped a police officer apprehend a suspect that he was chasing.

The incident unfolded in Jacksonville, Texas, on Wednesday as the man was waiting in line for his chicken sandwich, according to KLTV.

Jacksonville police say that officers were in pursuit of a suspect they say was driving a stolen vehicle and had jumped from the car to escape from police.

When the suspect tried to run between the line of cars through the restaurant’s parking lot, the customer waited until just the right moment to open his truck door into the suspect.

An officer pounced on the man after he fell to the ground, and the customer can be seen further assisting the officer as he makes the arrest.

Study: DNA Could Predict Happy Marriage

Her research team analyzed 142 newlyweds, or 71 couples, during the first three years of marriage.

They found that individuals with a “CC variation” to the CD38 gene — which has been linked to positive behaviors and perceptions in romantic relationships — enjoyed higher levels of marital satisfaction than men and women with an “AC” or “AA” variation of the gene.

Google-owned video platform YouTube has reportedly removed more than 30,000 videos that the Masters of the Universe claim made misleading or false claims about coronavirus vaccines over the last six months.

AXIOS reports that YouTube spokesperson Elena Hernandez has revealed that YouTube has removed more than 30,000 videos that it claims made misleading or false claims about coronavirus vaccines in the last six months, providing the first release of numbers on the topic. . .

Since February 2020, YouTube has removed more than 800,000 videos containing coronavirus misinformation, the videos are first flagged by the company’s AI or a human reviewer. The videos are then sent for another level of review before a decision is made on whether or not to remove them. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) defied New York Congressional Democrats’ call for him to step down Friday, insisting that he is actually a victim of “cancel culture.”

“There are facts and then there are opinions. And I’ve always separated the two,” a defiant Cuomo told reporters during a conference call. “Politicians who don’t know a single fact, but yet form a conclusion and an opinion, are in my opinion reckless and dangerous.”


“The people of New York should not have confidence in a politician who takes a position without knowing any facts or substance. That, my friends, is politics at its worst,” the governor added. “People know the difference between playing politics, bowing to cancel culture, and the truth,” he said.

Cuomo, who has served three terms as governor and three years as New York attorney general, then attempted to paint himself as a political outsider who has become the target of the establishment.

“I am not part of the political club, and you know what? I am proud of it. I have been in the public eye my entire life. My entire life I have been under public scrutiny, since I was 23 years old and ran my father’s campaign. New Yorkers know me. Wait for the facts,” Cuomo said in reference to his father, Mario Cuomo, who served as New York’s governor between 1983 and 1994. Was it an armed insurrection or not? Based on liberal media reports, you’d think this akin to a military takeover in Myanmar. It was a riot. Our own Julio Rosas documented the chaos that day, but an armed insurrection. How many firearms were confiscated that day? Well, the FBI’s Jill Sanborn, a counterintelligence official, said the number was exactly zero (via Daily Caller):

“How many firearms were confiscated in the Capitol or on Capitol grounds during that day?” Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson asked Jill Sanborn, the FBI official, during a Senate Homeland Security hearing.

“To my knowledge, we have not recovered any on that day from any other arrests at the scene at this point,” replied Sanborn, who serves as FBI assistant director for counterterrorism.

“I don’t want to speak on behalf of Metro and Capitol police, but, to my knowledge, none,” she added.

Ridiculous Eighth-Grade Graphic: ‘Fat, Short, Unattractive’ People Are Oppressed

“Fat, short, unattractive” people, females and individuals without children are among the groups facing “oppression” or “resistance,” according to a graphic allegedly given to eighth-graders at a California prep school.

A screenshot of the slide appeared on an Instagram account dedicated to posting about the purported “woke excesses” at the Harvard-Westlake prep school in Los Angeles.

“If you are ‘urban’ you are privileged, but if you are ‘rural’ you are oppressed,” the post from @WokeAtHW reads. “We don’t get it either.”

A Harvard-Westlake spokesperson declined to comment.

Twitter Using Section 230 Immunity as Defense in Child-Porn Case

A lawsuit in federal court in California alleges Twitter allowed child-porn videos and images to remain on its platform after receiving complaints, because the posts didn’t “violate policies.”

The social-media behemoth is trying to get out of the case entirely by relying on the immunity from libel litigation it is afforded from Section 230 of the federal Communications Decency Act, reports the Red State Nation blog.

The law grants social-media platforms immunity because they are regarded as neutral platforms for the flow of information rather than publishers. However, many Congress members argue, Twitter essentially has acted as an editor by censoring or flagging as “false” certain controversial viewpoints.

Twitter allegedly refused requests to remove the pornograhic content, including of a 13-year-old who was tricked into sharing explicit videos and then blackmailed with them. The videos eventually were removed after an agent of the Department of Homeland Security intervened.

“Only after this take-down demand from a federal agent did Twitter suspend the user accounts that were distributing the CSAM and report the CSAM to the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children,” the lawsuit said. George Floyd Family To Be Paid $27 Million

Minneapolis will pay a record $27 million to settle the lawsuit brought by George Floyd’s family.

Attorneys for the family called it the “largest pre-trial settlement in a civil rights wrongful death case in U.S. history.”

“When George Floyd was horrifically killed on May 25, 2020, it was a watershed moment for America,” family attorney Ben Crump said at a Friday afternoon news conference. “It was one of the most egregious and shocking documentations of an American citizen being tortured to death by a police officer…. one of the worst ever witnessed in history.”

“History will judge us for how we responded to this tragedy.”

House to Debate Immigration Reform as GOP Blasts Biden Over Border Crisis
