“First world nations are dying,” Pat Buchanan warned in his 2002 book The Death of the West.

“They face a mortal crisis, not because of something happening in the Third World, but because of what is not happening at home and in the homes of the First World.”

And what was not — and still is not — happening at home is childbearing. Buchanan was referring to fertility rates, which have been on the decline for decades.

Data released on Thursday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) shows U.S. birth rates are dropping to levels of civilizational suicide, with women having on average 1.6 children. According to the CDC data, birth rates dropped for women aged 15-34 between 2023 and 2024 while rising for women aged 40-44. The general fertility rate (GFR), which is the number of births per 1,000 females ages 15-44, “is down 22% from 2007 to 2024.” While fertility rates are down, the number of births increased by roughly 1 percent between 2023 and 2024, according to the data.

Women are delaying having children or completely casting it aside — thanks in part to the rise of the obnoxious hyper-independent girl boss mentality that has asserted that marriage and motherhood are shackles, along with the “loss of religiosity” and “availability of birth control” and abortion, as pointed out in these pages by David Harsanyi.

Trump Secures $1.35 Trillion Trade Deal With EU

President Donald Trump announced on Sunday a historic trade agreement with the European Union, calling it a “landmark victory” for American energy and economic leadership. The deal, struck after high-stakes negotiations with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in Turnberry, Scotland, will see the EU purchase $750 billion in U.S. energy exports and invest an additional $600 billion in the United States, solidifying America’s position as a global energy powerhouse.

Experts Warn Hidden Earthquake Threat beneath North America Could Strike Fairbanks at Any Moment

A previously quiet fault line beneath North America is now feared to be a ticking time bomb, and experts warn it could unleash a devastating earthquake with no warning, shaking parts of the US.

Canadian scientists have discovered that the Tintina Fault, located just 12 miles from Dawson City in the Yukon, has been silently building up underground pressure and may be on the verge of erupting in a massive quake.

The fault runs beneath highways, rivers, and critical infrastructure, and stretches into interior Alaska, raising fears it could send tremors into British Columbia, Alberta, and Montana, according to seismologists.

Dr Michael West, state seismologist at Alaska Earthquake Center, told the Daily Mail: ‘This new study shows it has been quietly building toward a potentially very large earthquake.’

‘It is one of the least studied fault systems in North America, and that needs to change,’ he added.

One section alone is approximately 81 miles long and could generate a magnitude 7.5 earthquake or greater, strong enough to shatter roads, destroy pipelines, and trigger landslides across the both Canada and the US. Ghislaine Maxwell Answered DOJ’s Questions On 100 Tied To Epstein, Attorney Says

By Daily Caller. Ghislaine Maxwell’s attorney told reporters Friday that the convicted sex trafficker answered questions about nearly 100 people allegedly connected to Jeffrey Epstein.

David Oscar Markus, Maxwell’s lawyer, said his client was questioned extensively over two days and was “asked about every possible thing you could imagine — everything,” according to the New York Post. Maxwell is serving a 20-year federal prison sentence after her 2021 conviction on sex trafficking and conspiracy charges.

“This was the first opportunity she’s ever been given to answer questions about what happened,” Markus said. “The truth will come out about what happened with Mr. Epstein and she’s the person who’s answering those questions.”

Maxwell met with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche on Thursday to discuss her ties to Epstein and answer questions about her role in the trafficking network.

Blanche said in an X post that he would return Friday for a second day of interviews with Maxwell.

Ghislaine Maxwell Granted Limited Immunity While Giving DOJ ‘100 Different People’ Linked to Jeffrey Epstein: Report

Notorious sex criminal Ghislaine Maxwell answered questions from Justice Department officials about “100 different people” linked to late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, an attorney for the disgraced socialite claimed Friday following two days of interrogation led by Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche during which she was reportedly granted limited immunity.

David Oscar Markus told reporters that his client, currently serving a 20-year sentence after being convicted in Manhattan of federal sex trafficking and conspiracy charges in December 2021, was “asked about every possible thing you could imagine – everything.”

“This was the first opportunity she’s ever been given to answer questions about what happened,” Markus added. “The truth will come out about what happened with Mr. Epstein and she’s the person who’s answering those questions.”

Blanche had “every single question” answered during the sitdown, Maxwell’s attorney also said, with the British-born convict declining to plead the Fifth Amendment.

House Panel Votes to Subpoena Bill and Hillary Clinton over Alleged Jeffrey Epstein Links

A House Oversight panel subcommittee voted to subpoena Bill and Hillary Clinton for alleged links to convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein and his accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell.

The motion for subpoenas was issued by Rep. Scott Perry (R-PA) during a Federal Law Enforcement Subcommittee hearing on Wednesday. No roll call was taken, and the subpoena was approved by a Republican-led panel via voice vote. Per the New York Post:

The Clintons and several former top Justice Department officials – ex-FBI Director James Comey, one-time special counsel Robert Mueller and former attorneys general Loretta Lynch, Eric Holder, Merrick Garland, Bill Barr, Jeff Sessions and Alberto Gonzales – were included in the list of subpoenas sought by Perry in order to “expand the full committees investigation into Ms. Maxwell.”

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) would need to formally issue the subpoenas to the Clintons and the others for them to be compelled to provide testimony or documents to the panel.

Former President Clinton acknowledged in his 2024 book Citizen: My Life After the White House that he flew aboard Epstein’s private plane, a.k.a. the Lolita Express, as part of his work with the Clinton Global Initiative nonprofit. Trump Says He’s ‘Thinking About’ Sending Tariff-Funded Rebate Checks To Americans

President Donald Trump said on Friday that he was contemplating sending rebate checks to Americans using tariff revenue.

The U.S. government ran a $27 billion budget surplus in June, fueled partly by record tariff revenue, which exceeded $100 billion for the first time in a fiscal year, Reuters reported. When a reporter asked Trump at the White House if there was a chance of a rebate for Americans due to the revenue, the president said his administration was prioritizing paying off debt, but that a small rebate for some Americans was possible.

“We’re thinking about that, actually. We have so much money coming in,” Trump said. “We’re thinking about a little rebate, but the big thing we want to do is pay down debt. But we’re thinking about a rebate.”

“That’s a very good question. You just made a lot of news,” he continued. “We’re thinking about a rebate because we have so much money coming in from tariffs that a little rebate for people of a certain income level might be very nice.”

‘This Should NOT Be Included’ — Read Intel Officials’ Objections To ‘Extremely Sketchy’ Steele Dossier

Senior intelligence officials strenuously fought the demands of former FBI Director James Comey and other Obama intelligence chiefs to include the false and unverified Steele dossier in an official assessment of Russian activities ordered by President Barack Obama in the closing weeks of his presidency, records reviewed exclusively by The Federalist show. The records, which are related to ongoing criminal investigations into Comey and other top intelligence officials for their roles in launching the Russia collusion hoax, provide damning evidence of Obama intelligence chiefs’ malfeasance beyond the explosive information released Wednesday by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard.

Previous government investigations into the Russia collusion hoax dryly described the opposition merely as officials having “expressed concern” about using the infamous Steele dossier because it was “not completely vetted.” But records reviewed by The Federalist reveal career intelligence officials expressed outright shock at the poor quality of the reporting that the FBI repeatedly insisted be included in the Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA) — and objected to any reference to the dodgy dossier.

“Based solely on what we DO know now, my bottom line is this – unless FBI is prepared to provide much better sourcing – I believe this should NOT be included in the paper,” one official wrote, caps and all. Noting that the document had not been formally issued as an FBI product, the official stressed it suffered from “POOR SOURCE TRADECRAFT,” had “extremely sketchy” sourcing, and “simply does not meet normal [intelligence community] standards.”

The Steele dossier, a product of the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign, was a collection of salacious and unverified stories about rival presidential candidate Donald Trump supposedly colluding with Russia. Clinton secretly funded the information operation and the group she hired to create the dossier spread the false information it contained to reporters, politicians, and the FBI.

Recent disclosures from Gabbard and CIA Director John Ratcliffe revealed that Obama and his top intelligence officials coordinated an information operation against President-elect Donald Trump to falsely paint him as having colluded with Russia to steal the 2016 election. First, they suppressed a Presidential Daily Brief, or PDB, that concluded that Russia’s election activities did not affect the election. President-elect Trump and his incoming National Security Advisor Mike Flynn would have received a copy of the PDB had the Obama administration not eighty-sixed the final report mere hours before its publication. Docs: Fired DOJ Official Sought To ‘Sway’ Trump Admin’s Handling Of Venezuelan Deportation Case

Aformer Justice Department official and outspoken critic of Trump judicial nominee Emil Bove advised his colleagues on how to “sway” the Trump administration’s litigation strategy in a case involving the deportation of Venezuelan gang members in a way he found to be personally favorable, The Federalist has learned.

The revelation came to fruition in new documents obtained by The Federalist that shine a light on Erez Reuveni’s conduct in a case (J.G.G. v. Trump) over President Trump’s use of the Alien Enemies Act to deport Tren de Aragua gang members. Reuveni served as acting deputy director for the Office of Immigration Litigation until early April, when he was suspended and subsequently fired for failing to “zealously advocate on behalf of the United States,” according to Attorney General Pam Bondi.

While Reuveni’s dismissal came after his reportedly improper handling of the DOJ’s deportation of Salvadoran national Kilmar Abrego Garcia, the new records acquired by The Federalist document his willingness to advance his own preferred litigation strategy over that of DOJ leadership.

The matter in question first kicked up on March 15, when Obama-appointed District Judge James Boasberg issued a temporary restraining order attempting to bar the Trump administration from deporting the group of illegal aliens under the AEA. As The Federalist’s Margot Cleveland reported, by the time Boasberg issued a written order that day enjoining the administration from deporting the group of Venezuelans covered under the president’s directive, “the Trump Administration had already removed two planes filled with illegal aliens from the United States.”

Iran Told to Comply with Nuclear Demands or Face Consequences after ‘Serious’ Meeting

European diplomats met with Iranians on Friday face-to-face for the first time since Israel and the U.S. bombed the country last month.

The “serious, frank and detailed” meeting in Istanbul, Turkey, lasted for around four hours and the officials all agreed to meet again for continued negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program.

Sanctions that were lifted on Iran in 2015 after it agreed to restrictions and monitoring of its nuclear program could be reimposed if Iran doesn’t comply with requirements.

One of Europe’s E3 nations – Britain, France and Germany, who held the talks with Iran – could bring back sanctions under the “snapback” mechanism, which allows one of the European countries to bring back U.N. sanctions if Iran violates the conditions.
