Despicable Chinese Cover-Up Started in December, More Evidence Coronavirus is an Escaped Bioweapon

By New York Post. Chinese scientists knew about the coronavirus and its deadly effects as early as December — but were ordered by government officials to suppress the evidence, according to a report.

In late December, several genomics companies tested samples from sick patients in Wuhan — the center of the coronavirus outbreak — and noticed alarming similarities between their illnesses and the 2002 SARS virus, the Sunday Times of London reported, citing Chinese business news site Caixin Global.

The researchers alerted Beijing of their findings — and on Jan. 3, received a gag order from China’s National Health Commission, with instructions to destroy the samples.

Rather than hunkering down to contain the virus, Wuhan officials went ahead with their annual potluck dinner for 40,000 families. (Read more from “Despicable Chinese Cover-Up Started in December, More Evidence Coronavirus Is an Escaped Bioweapon” HERE)

Coronavirus Taking a Toll on Chinese Restaurants in New York

By New York Post. Even the Big Apple’s most beloved Chinese restaurants are in critical condition as the coronavirus keeps customers at bay.

Restaurant owners, the people who work for them and city lawmakers say business at Chinese-owned establishments has plummeted by as much as 60 percent as the global pandemic spreads. Some restaurants in Queens have closed, possibly for good, sources said.

“It’s been terrible for business,” said Thomas Lo, a co-owner of Spy C Cuisine of Forest Hills, Queens, which opened in 2018 and garnered a coveted spot in this year’s Michelin Guide. “We’ve had a steady increase in business since we opened, and then coronavirus hit,” said Lo, who is an anesthesiologist by day and a chef by night.

“None of our food comes from China, but that doesn’t matter to diners. I don’t know what motivated the scare. A lot of it is misinformation,” said Lo, who says business at Spy C is down more than 50 percent from a month ago. Federal Judge Orders Clinton to Sit for Deposition on Use of Private Email Account

By National Review. A federal judge has ordered Hillary Clinton to sit for a sworn deposition regarding her use of a private email account while serving as secretary of state.

U.S. District Court Royce Lamberth, a Reagan appointee, on Monday filed the order for Clinton to appear for a deposition in a five-year-old case brought by the conservative group Judicial Watch. The group filed a Freedom of Information Act request for Clinton emails pertaining to the 2012 attacks on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya. Federal Judge Orders Hillary Clinton Deposition to Address Private Emails: ‘Still More to Learn’

By Fox News. A federal judge Monday granted a request from conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch to have former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton sit for a sworn deposition to answer questions about her use of a private email server to conduct government business.

Clinton has argued that she has already answered questions about this and should not have to do so again — the matter did not result in any charges for the then-presidential candidate in 2016 after a high-profile investigation — but D.C. District Court Judge Royce C. Lamberth said in his ruling that her past responses left much to be desired.

“As extensive as the existing record is, it does not sufficiently explain Secretary Clinton’s state of mind when she decided it would be an acceptable practice to set up and use a private server to conduct State Department business,” Lamberth said.

The judge went on to recognize that while Clinton responded to written questions in a separate case, “those responses were either incomplete, unhelpful, or cursory at best. Simply put her responses left many more questions than answers.” Lamberth said that using written questions this time “will only muddle any understanding of Secretary Clinton’s state of mind and fail to capture the full picture, thus delaying the final disposition of this case even further.”

Lamberth even gave some examples of lingering questions about Clinton’s emails, such as how did she come to believe that her private emails would be preserved under normal State Department processes, who told her this and when, at what point did she learn department records management officials did not know about the server, “[a]nd why did she think that using a private server to conduct State Department business was permissible under the law in the first place?” (Read more from “Federal Judge Orders Hillary Clinton Deposition to Address Private Emails: ‘Still More to Learn'” HERE)

WATCH: Roger Stone Says He ‘Wants to Get Right With God’ and Trump ‘Has Been Forgiven for Anything He Did Wrong’

By Raw Story. Convicted felon Roger Stone has suddenly discovered Jesus Christ. . .

“I feel pretty good because I’ve taken Jesus Christ as my personal savior,” Stone said in his first on-camera interview since his sentencing. “And it’s given me enormous strength and solace, because he knows what’s in my heart.” . . .

“He knows what’s in my heart,” Stone said of God.

When it comes to his friend, President Donald Trump, Stone sang his praises, but let it slip that he did do something wrong. Christians believe in redemption, Stone said, saying that his friend was a “different person.”

“I think Trump has been forgiven for anything he did wrong. I think we all have. And I think he’s a different person. I think he is steadfast in his faith. I don’t think he could do this job if he was not,” Stone also said, confessing that Trump did something “wrong” for the first time publicly.

Roger Stone Jurors Will Get Free Legal Help During Bias Dispute

By Bloomberg. Jurors who convicted Republican operative Roger Stone for lying to Congress during the Russia investigation will get free legal representation while a journalist attempts to access a jury questionnaire.

In a decision on Monday, U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson appointed Alan C. Raul to represent the jurors. The ruling was made in response to an attempt by journalist and right-wing provocateur Michael Cernovich to intervene in the case and gain access to information about the jurors, including their responses to a series of questions before the trial to vet who could be impartial. WATCH: MSNBC Host Chris Matthews Resigns After Accusations of Sexism and Harassment

Longtime MSNBC host Chris Matthews announced on air Monday night that he was resigning following a slew of on-air fumbles and allegations that he made sexually inappropriate remarks to a political columnist in 2016.

“I’m retiring,” he said. “This is the last Hardball on MSNBC, and obviously this isn’t for lack of interest in politics.”

Over the past several weeks, the cable news veteran has been under increasing scrutiny due to allegations about previous offscreen conduct, as well as a number of eyebrow-raising on-air statements. Observers took note when Matthews, normally a staple of election coverage, did not appear on air on Saturday during the South Carolina primary.

“After my conversation with NBC, I decided tonight will be my last Hardball,” Matthews said on his show Monday night. “I’ll tell you why. The younger generations are ready to take the reins. We see them in politics, the media, they have proven in the workplace. They grew up with better standards, fair standards. Compliments on a woman’s appearance some men, including me, might have once incorrectly thought were OK were never OK. Certainly not today. For making such comments in the past, I’m sorry.”

In an article for GQ, published Friday, freelance political columnist Laura Bassett wrote that when she appeared as a guest on Matthews’ show, he repeatedly made inappropriate remarks about her appearance while off-camera. In one instance, she recounted, Matthews asked, “Why haven’t I fallen in love with you yet?” and urged the makeup artist to “Keep putting makeup on her, I’ll fall in love with her.”

U.S. Places New Restrictions on Chinese Journalists

In a briefing to reporters on Monday, senior Trump administration officials announced a set of restrictions to be placed on Chinese journalists operating in the United States.

Why it matters: The unprecedented restrictions are aimed at upholding “reciprocity” in U.S.-China relations amid a deteriorating media environment in China, the officials said.

Details: U.S. administration officials said that two types of restrictions will be put into place in the coming weeks.

The administration will place a duration of stay on all Chinese nationals who are in the United States on I visas, the visa type given to foreign media workers. They will be eligible to request extensions when their visas expire.

The five Chinese state-run media outlets that were recently designated by the State Department as “foreign missions” will now face a limit on the total number of Chinese nationals working for them in the United States at any given time.

More Evidence of Creation: Scientists Say Earth Formed in Fraction of the Time of the Evolutionary Model

New research suggests Earth was created in a fraction of the time scientists previously thought it formed, suggesting that rapidly forming planets could exist elsewhere.

Conventional thinking suggested the early Earth was formed through the random collision of large planetary bodies through time. As these planetary bodies slammed into one another, they combined to eventually form Earth over a time period of tens of millions of years.

New research, published in Science Advances, suggests the formation of Earth was through a different and faster mechanism. Researchers estimate this took place over approximately 5 million years, extremely fast in astronomical timescales. . .

The match between the extremely precise measurement of the iron composition in Earth’s interior to CI chondrites implies a “single source” of material when Earth initially formed. Otherwise, the iron composition would mimic multiple different types of meteorites. . .

The results of this study indicate water was accreted onto Earth from water adsorbed to dust as it rained down onto early Earth. This early accretion of water onto Earth is supported by water found in Earth’s deep mantle. Thus, the key ingredients to life is likely a by-product of the formation of a planet similar to Earth. This suggests the presence of water is likely to be found in many other planets across the universe. Trump Trolls Biden for Suggesting Half Our Country Killed in Gun Violence

By Breitbart. During his March 2, 2020, North Carolina rally President Trump trolled Democrat presidential hopeful Joe Biden for suggesting half our country was killed in gun violence.

Trump said, “Did you see…[where Joe Biden said] 150 million people were killed by guns in our country. 150 million? That means 50 percent of our country. That’s a big story.”

Biden made the claim during the February 25, 2020, Democrat debate, while criticizing the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act. That act shields gun makers from frivolous lawsuits in scenarios where the gun in question was legally made and legally sold. Trump Sets His Sights on Biden as Democratic Endorsements Roll in

By NBC News. As key Democratic figures coalesced behind Joe Biden, President Donald Trump lobbed an extended attack at the former vice president at a rally here hours before the Super Tuesday contest.

Seeking to raise doubts about Biden’s acumen, Trump seized on his most recent gaffes, like slipping and referring to Super Tuesday as “super Thursday,” claiming 150 million people were killed by guns since 2007, and saying he was running for Senate rather than the presidency.

“Maybe he gets in because he’s a little more moderate,” Trump said of Biden. “But he’s not going to be running it, other people are going to. They’re going to put him into a home and other people are going to be running the country and they’re going to be super left radical crazies.”

Trump’s attacks came as a flock of current and former Democratic Party officials threw their support behind Biden Monday following his weekend victory in South Carolina, partly in an effort to block Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt. from securing the nomination.

“You see what’s happening right there now, it’s being rigged against Crazy Bernie,” Trump said, repeating a common Twitter theme he often deploys in an effort to stoke dissent among Democrats. (Read more from “Trump Sets His Sights on Biden as Democratic Endorsements Roll in” HERE)

Airlines Face Loss of up to $30 Billion in Revenues in Wake of Coronavirus; Pandemic Would Spark Deep Recession and Pose a ‘Significant Threat’ to Trump’s Re-Election, Top Economist Says

By Breitbart. The spread of the coronavirus from its epicenter in central China to infections identified around the world is having a severe impact on airlines as consumers cancel or delay travel plans. Industry experts say airlines worldwide could lose as much as $30 billion in revenues this year, with Chinese carriers facing the brunt of the loss with an estimated $12.8 billion deficit.

The Asia-Pacific region could face lost revenues of $12.8 billion, and carriers outside of that region could be out $1.5 billion, according to the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

“Regional carriers will see their revenue dip by 3 per cent, but this figure can go up to 50 per cent if the outbreak continues and travel restrictions are expanded,” Muhammad Ali Albakri, regional vice-president, Africa and the Middle East, at IATA said in a GulfNews.com report:

Albakri said there has been a drop in ticket sales in the Middle East and elsewhere. The industry is staring at a potential 13 per cent full-year dip in passenger demand for carriers in the Asia-Pacific region.

The estimates by IATA are based on a scenario where COVID-19 has a similar V-shaped impact on demand as was experienced during the SARS outbreak in 2003. SARS was responsible for the 5.1 per cent fall in revenue per passenger kilometre (RPK, an industry measure) carried by Asia-Pacific airlines.

Coronavirus Pandemic Would Spark Deep Recession and Pose a ‘Significant Threat’ to Trump’s Re-Election, Top Economist Mark Zandi Says

By CNBC. Moody’s Analytics Mark Zandi warns Wall Street is underestimating the damage from a coronavirus pandemic — both on the economy and President Donald Trump’s re-election campaign.

“Right now, we don’t have a whole lot of confidence. I mean he can’t seem to get on the same page with the experts, the CDC,” the firm’s chief economist told CNBC’s “Trading Nation” on Friday. “This is a significant threat to his re-election.”

Not only is the response to the medical emergency key, an economic downturn sparked by the coronavirus would be political kryptonite. . .

“They’re at least even odds,” he said. “If you take the most likely scenario and the CDC is roughly right, then it’s pretty hard to avoid one.” . . .

“Valuations were very stretched. Anything probably would have pushed the stock market back on its heels,” Zandi said. “COVID-19 [coronavirus] is more than just something, and that is something very substantive.” (Read more from “Coronavirus Pandemic Would Spark Deep Recession and Pose a ‘Significant Threat’ to Trump’s Re-Election, Top Economist Mark Zandi Says” HERE)
