Men Burn Church, Kill 6 During Sunday Mass

By BBC. Gunmen have killed six people including a priest as Mass was being celebrated in a church in Dablo in northern Burkina Faso, officials say.

The attackers, said to number between 20 and 30, then burned down the church.

The town’s mayor, Ousmane Zongo, said that there was panic as other buildings were burned down and a health centre looted.

Jihadist violence has flared in Burkina Faso since 2016, and this is the third attack on a church in five weeks. (Read more from “Men Burn Church, Kill 6 During Sunday Mass” HERE)

Burkina Faso Christians Killed in Attack on Church

By BBC. Gunmen have opened fire on a church in northern Burkina Faso, killing at least six people, officials say.

The attackers reportedly arrived on seven motorbikes at the end of Sunday’s service and killed the pastor, two of his sons and three other worshippers.

It is the second reported church attack this month and since jihadist violence erupted in the country in 2016.

Fighters affiliated to al-Qaeda and the Islamic State group as well as the local Ansarul Islam have been active.

Sunday’s attack on the Protestant church happened in the small town of Silgadji near Djibo, the capital of Soum province, at around 12:00 local time (12:00 GMT). (Read more from “Burkina Faso Christians Killed in Attack on Church” HERE)

GOP Voters Reveal What Trump’s ‘Top Priority’ Should Be For 2020

By Breitbart. Ahead of the 2020 presidential election, Republican voters say President Trump’s top priorities ought to be building a wall along the United States-Mexico border and reducing all immigration to the country.

The latest Harvard/Harris Poll finds that when Republican voters are asked to rank the issues which should be Trump’s biggest priorities, building a wall at the southern border and reducing all immigration top the list.

Ranking as the top priority for Republicans, conservatives, and Trump supporters, 22 to 25 percent of these voters said building a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border should be the president’s number one goal today. . .

Even among all U.S. voters, building a border wall and reducing all immigration to the country ranks as the fourth top priority. For swing voters, building a border wall and reducing all immigration are the third and fourth top priorities, following stimulating jobs and passing an infrastructure bill.

Recent polls found similar popularity for reducing all immigration to the U.S. among GOP voters and conservatives. In a Reuters/Ipsos Poll last month, GOP voters called immigration the “most important problem” facing the nation and a Harvard Institute of Politics poll found that young GOP voters were the most skeptical of immigration. Defense chief’s border visit will highlight Trump priority

By Fox News. Acting Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan is making his second trip to the U.S.-Mexican border to highlight what President Donald Trump calls a national emergency, after freeing up $1.5 billion more in Pentagon money to support wall construction.

Shanahan was flying to the Texas border town of McAllen on Saturday with the acting chief of Homeland Security Department, Kevin McAleenan, for a trip that demonstrates Shanahan’s attention to border security, a top Trump priority, amid questions from some in Congress about whether the border mission is an appropriate and wise use of military resources.

As a prelude to the trip, the White House on Thursday announced that Trump intends to nominate Shanahan as defense secretary, ending months of speculation about Pentagon leadership. He has served in an interim capacity since Jan. 1, an unprecedented period of uncertainty at the helm of the Pentagon.

Shanahan has supported the use of active-duty troops, in addition to the National Guard, to bolster Customs and Border Protection efforts to handle surging numbers of Central American migrants seeking to cross the border. But recently he has hinted at impatience with the lack of a long-term strategy for ensuring border security, which is the responsibility of DHS. The two planes carried 14 passengers from the Royal Princess who were on a seven-day roundtrip cruise out of Vancouver, according to a statement Monday from Princess Cruises. The planes collided mid-air about 1 p.m. about eight nautical miles from Ketchikan, Alaska, at the southeastern end of the state,.

“We are incredibly distressed by this situation, and our thoughts and prayers are with those onboard the planes and their families,” the cruise company said. “Princess Cruises is extending its full support to traveling companions of the guests involved.”

An Otter floatplane with 11 people onboard was returning from a Misty Fjords tour while a second Beaver floatplane carrying five people was on an independent tour. (Read more from “5 Dead, 1 Missing Afters Planes Collide in Alaska” HERE)

James Comey Says Trump Was ‘Third’ on Russia’s Priorities for 2016

By Breitbart. After his FBI peddled the narrative that Russia interfered in the 2016 election specifically to help Donald Trump, disgraced former FBI Director James Comey conceded that Russia’s primary goals were first to cause election chaos generally and then to ensure the defeat of Hillary Clinton.

Russia’s third priority was to help Trump win the election, Comey stated.

Comey made the comments while speaking last Thursday at a CNN town hall event. . .

Comey’s FBI was part of a January 6, 2017 U.S. Intelligence Community (IC) document assessing Russian interference efforts in the most recent U.S. presidential election. In the IC report, the NSA assessed the conclusion that Putin favored Trump and worked to get him elected only with a classification of “moderate confidence,” while the FBI and CIA gave it a “high confidence” rating.

A Republican House Intelligence Committee’s 250-page report on alleged Russian collusion released in April of last year raised questions about the “high confidence” assessment by the FBI and CIA, perhaps explaining why the NSA didn’t share the conclusion when it came to Russian intentions regarding Trump during the election. Rod Rosenstein Calls James Comey a ‘Partisan Pundit’

By NBC News. In remarks prepared for delivery Monday night, former deputy attorney general Rod Rosenstein calls James Comey “a partisan pundit” and criticizes him for his recent remarks about Rosenstein.

In an op-ed last week in The New York Times, Comey asked how Rosenstein could, after the release of the Mueller report, give a speech quoting President Donald Trump on the rule of law and praise the president in his resignation letter. Comey concluded that Trump “eats your soul in small bites.”

In remarks for a speech Monday night to the Greater Baltimore Committee, Rosenstein says Comey is now “a partisan pundit, selling books and earning speaking fees while speculating about the strength of my character and the fate of my immortal soul. That is disappointing. Speculating about souls is not a job for police and prosecutors. Generally we base our opinions on eyewitness testimony.” (Read more from “Rod Rosenstein Calls James Comey a ‘Partisan Pundit'” HERE)

Beto’s Ridiculous Mother’s Day Message: So Many Mothers Deported

Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke delivered a Mother’s Day message about the deportation of mothers to Exeter, New Hampshire, over the weekend.

O’Rourke asked those gathered for a Saturday campaign stop to think of migrants in light of Mother’s Day. He then employed his own children as he claimed that mothers have been deported, while the children they crossed the U.S.-Mexico border with are kept in cages before being sent off to “god-only-knows where in America.” He threatened that some of the children who came with their mothers may be forever separated from them.

O’Rourke said:

Right now we have mothers arriving at our front door, at the Texas-Mexico border, who have traveled 2,000 miles, leaving some of the deadliest places on the planet today. Doing what Amy and I would do if the only way to save the lives of our kids, Ulysses who’s 12, Molly who’s 10, Henry who is 8-years-old, was to make a similar journey for their lives and for their sake, to come to a country that has defined and distinguished itself by being a country of refugees and asylum-seekers, and immigrants from the world over.

. . .

O’Rourke focused on child separation policies under the Trump administration without the same attention to policies existing and being established under previous administrations. The Trump administration curtailed family separation policy in the midst of national attention on the subject. Trump Wants America to Get to Mars

President Trump on Monday announced a series of updates to his proposed budget for fiscal 2020, including funding amounts for the Special Olympics and the country’s space exploration program.

Trump fired off four tweets over a 10-minute stretch early Monday evening specifying the budget updates, several of which had been announced previously without dollar amounts. The president’s budget typically represents priorities for the administration and is rarely passed by Congress without changes. . .

The president also said his updated budget would include an additional $1.6 billion for NASA to focus on space exploration. Trump said the country is “going back to the Moon, then Mars.”

Vice President Pence said earlier this year that the Trump administration is committed to landing U.S. astronauts on the moon within the next five years. No human has landed on Mars.

The president on Monday also shared two environmental budget updates.

Dems Are Defending Tlaib’s Psycho Holocaust Comments – Here’s Who They’re Blaming

Rep. Rashida Tlabi (D-MI) came under fire for making rather anti-Semitic comments about how the Holocaust gave her a “calming feeling.” Republican Conference Chair Liz Cheney (R-WY) and Republican Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) condemned her comments and called on Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) to do the same. . .

Naturally, Tlaib’s team attempted to spin what she said. Instead of focusing on what she did say, Tlaib is making it sound as though Republicans are doing everything in their power to attack her. Apparently calling out her anti-Semitism is now “policing” her words and using them “to ignite vile attacks” on her.

Naturally, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) came to Tlaib’s defense. And, she spun the criticisms as “Islamophobia.”

What’s surprising though, is that Tlaib’s biggest supporter was none other than 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders.

Hillary Does Hope to Run Again

Hillary Clinton is the gift that just keeps on giving to President Donald Trump and the Republican Party. She will not leave the political stage and continues to keep herself in the public eye. After completing a rather unsuccessful speaking tour with her husband, former President Bill Clinton, in which ticket prices were slashed dramatically to fill empty seats, Hillary Clinton decided to visit New Hampshire, the site of the first presidential primary in 2020.

Not only is Clinton not ready to endorse any of the almost two dozen declared Democratic presidential candidates, she is still flirting with a third race for the presidency. It seems Hillary is a horrible listener and did not get the message from the 2016 election that the voters of America don’t like her.

Despite being given CNN debate questions from her friend Donna Brazile, Hillary had to cheat to defeat Senator Bernie Sanders and win the 2016 Democratic Party presidential nomination. In the general election, she outspent political novice Donald Trump by a two-to-one margin and still lost in an electoral vote landslide. What was truly amazing about her defeat was that she had 95% of the media on her side and decades of political experience on her team, but was still defeated by a candidate who had never run for any political office. Trump understood the importance of campaigning in states like Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, which were ignored by Hillary.

Ever since Election Night of 2016, Hillary has harbored a deep animosity against both Donald Trump and the American people who rejected her. . .

Obviously, Hillary wants to run for President again and take on Donald Trump in a 2020 election rematch. While she continues to harbor this fantasy, it will only hurt the Democratic Party and boost President Trump’s chances for re-election. As long as she continues to mount a pseudo campaign highlighted by her long list of grievances, Hillary Clinton will serve as a great reminder to the American people that they made the right choice in the 2016 election. SHOCKING: There Is Absolutely Appalling Anti-Semitism at This U.S. University

Anti-Semitism at New York University (NYU), the large private institution in the city that is home to the nation’s largest Jewish population, is unfortunately hardly new. As far back as 2014, The Times of Israel noted how the egregiously misnamed anti-Semitic hate group “Students for Justice in Palestine” was harassing Jewish students at NYU by means of “distribut[ing] mock eviction notices to students in [a] dorm [that] is known across campus as one with a high concentration of Jewish residents, and is the only NYU dorm with a Shabbat elevator, listing distorted facts, and with the stated purpose of ‘draw[ing] attention to the reality that Palestinians confront on a regular basis.'”

But the problems at NYU for Jewish students and pro-Israel activists have continued unabated. Aaron Bandler reported last month for the Jewish Journal:

A group of pro-Israel students has filed a complaint against New York University (NYU) with the Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights (OCR). . .

The April 22 complaint obtained by the Journal was filed on behalf of NYU students who are members of student organizations supporting Israel or Jewish issues, and senior Adela Cojab, who was the 2018 president of the student group Realize Israel.

The complaint argues there have been “two years of extreme anti-Semitism on the NYU campus” due to NYU SJP’s actions, and the administration’s inability to properly handle them constitutes a violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, which “prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, and national origin.”

Deep State Pansies vs. The Constitution

We are in a season of Constitutional crises, according to Democratic leadership.

At first, it was about Russian collusion Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s firing by the president, expected any day. That never happened, of course.

Deep State vs. Constitution

Sen. Chuck Schumer referred to him as “Director Mueller” because he used to be director of the FBI. But part of our Constitutional system is that we, the people, can replace public officials and change public policy first through elections, and then by the authority of newly elected officials to make promised changes.

Schumer and fellow Democrats are apparently uncommitted to that Constitutional plan. The prestige and authority of a “deep state” of permanent bureaucrats has come to rival or surpass that of officials whose election disappoints the Democratic elites.

About a year ago, Schumer sounded the alarm again when he feared the president might fire one of his Deputy Attorneys General who had undermined him.

“I’d like to make something crystal clear to the president,” Schumer said. “Mr. President, any attempt to remove Rod Rosenstein will create the exact same Constitutional crisis as if you fired Special Counsel Mueller.”

Then when the president replaced Attorney General Jeff Sessions with an interim appointee in November, Sen. Schumer smelled Constitutional crisis again. “If [the interim Attorney General] stays there, he will create a Constitutional crisis by inhibiting Mueller or firing Mueller,” Schumer said.

He demanded that Trump’s new appointee recuse himself from supervising Mueller’s investigation. Unless he did so, Schumer threatened a government shutdown.

The Mueller Report

Now the Mueller investigation has run its course, but the Democrats’ season of Constitutional crisis is just getting warmed up. This is necessary because the Democrats need to lay a foundation for impeachment, now that the president is clear of the threat of criminal prosecution.

House Democrats have issued a subpoena for the full Mueller report without any redactions. Nearly all of them are lawyers, and therefore well aware that it would be a violation of the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure to disclose the portions of the Mueller report that quote Grand Jury proceedings, and that whoever violates Grand Jury secrecy is subject to prosecution.

It’s arguable that Attorney General Barr should request a judge’s permission to break Grand Jury secrecy in this instance, but it’s hardly a Constitutional crisis if he doesn’t. The Rule is there for a reason. You should be able to give confidential truthful answers to a prosecutor’s questions in Grand Jury without entrusting your fate to Oscar Goodman or Ilhan Abdullahi Omar.

No Good Deed Goes Unpunished

I do want robust Congressional oversight of the executive branch. That, too, is a very important part of the Constitutional plan. The Department of Justice has offered to provide 12 leaders in both chambers of Congress, including Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler, access to a less-redacted version of the Mueller report to accommodate negotiations for a release that would comply with the criminal procedure rules.

But but none of the six Democrats have taken the Justice Department up on its offer to come and have a look at the document they claim is indispensable to their Constitutional role. Instead, the House Democrats voted Barr in Contempt of Congress. Trump, ever the tough negotiator, retaliated by asserting Executive Privilege.

Rank Hypocrisy

Predictably, Nadler pronounced America is “now in a Constitutional crisis.” He was oblivious of any such peril in 2012, when Attorney General and Obama confidante Eric Holder refused to comply with a Congressional subpoena. The Obama Justice Department argued then it was under no obligation to comply with any Congressional subpoena, and asserted wide-ranging Executive Privilege.

Nadler, eager to declare Barr’s legal resistance a Constitutional crisis today, was a bitter-end defender of Holder when he was covering up the deadly Fast and Furious gunrunning operation that provided 2,000 guns to criminals, and got a Border Patrol agent killed. Holder’s staff wrote the Committee that the Obama administration was unaware of Fast and Furious. He later admitted that was false.

When Congress voted a contempt citation against Holder in 2012 after months of defiance and legerdemain, Nadler joined a Democrat walkout from the House chamber to protest “the shameful, politically-motivated GOP vote.”

You have to give Nadler credit for cutting to the chase, though. House Republicans let Holder drag out negotiations Saddam Hussein-like for 18 months. Nadler’s committee Democrats voted Barr in contempt less than a month after issuing their subpoena.

Cheapening the Language

Hyper-partisan Democrats have cheapened the currency of Constitutional crisis. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has chimed in with her own claim that we’re in Constitutional crisis again. Sen. Kamala Harris and Rep. Al Green have used the exhausted phrase in recent days. It has become a shibboleth to rally the base, rather than a descriptive term.

I wish they had kept their powder dry. There might actually be a Constitutional crisis some day, and this phrase will be useless to alert the citizenry, because badly behaved Democrats have worn it out.
