Trump Advisor FBI First Targeted for ‘Collusion’ Gives New Details About Feds’ ‘Preposterous’ Claims

Carter Page, the man who federal investigators first targeted for surveillance on the unfounded premise that he was a potential agent for Russia, part of the feds’ now debunked “collusion” claim against the Trump campaign, wasn’t charged — or even so much as mentioned — in Mueller’s various indictments, none of which were related to the original focus of the investigation. Having been finally vindicated with Mueller’s report submitted to the attorney general and no further indictments issued, Page is now getting his chance to tell his story without the cloud of the years-long investigation hanging over his head.

In an interview with former CBS investigative correspondent Sharyl Attkisson published by Full Measure Sunday, Page describes the FBI’s “outrageous, preposterous” claims against him. Full Measure offers a description of Page, details of which most reports citing him over the last two years have somehow failed to emphasize: He was “a Naval officer in Europe and the Mideast with a brief stint in Navy intelligence,” holds two Masters and a PhD, was “a successful investment adviser and worked in Russia from 2004-2007,” and — the part that really didn’t get much play by the mainstream outlets — has a long history of helping the FBI and CIA in counter-Russia investigations.

“It’s been reported that you assisted the FBI years ago in the case of corporate espionage by a Russian spy case. Is that true?” asked Attkisson.

“I had alluded to the fact that I’d helped out CIA and FBI going back decades,” Carter responded, citing relationships he developed in his time in the military as aiding him in those endeavors.

“So the theory was, at the time, that a guy who had helped the FBI and CIA in the past, including with potential spy cases, himself became a spy while being watched by the FBI?” asked Attkisson. Planned Parenthood Just Had a Disappointing Supreme Court Win

On Monday, the U.S. Supreme Court declined to issue a writ of certiorari to hear an appeal from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit to dismiss a key abortion-related case. The writ to dismiss the underlying lawsuit was sought by David Daleiden’s group, the Center for Medical Progress.

The Hill reports:

The Center for Medical Progress had requested the Supreme Court toss out Planned Parenthood’s claims that they committed federal conspiracy and wiretapping violations. Planned Parenthood also claims that the Center for Medical Progress violated California law by fraudulently gaining access to its facilities. …

The Center for Medical Progress, led by activist David Daleiden, had argued it was exercising its First Amendment rights in making the videos. The group also claimed that the Planned Parenthood lawsuit was in violation of California “anti-SLAPP” laws, which prevent strategic legal action aimed at silencing individuals or groups.

The denial of a writ of certiorari confirms that Planned Parenthood’s suit against the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) in the Ninth Circuit will proceed in full. As CBS News states, “Planned Parenthood’s lawsuit alleges that CMP engaged in wire and mail fraud, committed illegal secret recording and trespassing. The pro-abortion rights group is accusing CMP of lying to the IRS and the state of California in order to illegally get tax-exempt status. Another Fantastic Discovery in Israel: Evidence of Famed Biblical King Josiah

A clay seal found in Jerusalem has given further evidence of the reign of the famed Biblical Jewish King Josiah, who is noteworthy in Jewish history as the king who brought the Jewish people back to observance of the Torah after the nefarious reign of his predecessor Manasseh.

Discovered by the Israel Antiquities Authority and Tel Aviv University, the seal was found underneath a current-day car park; the archaeological team found evidence of a large building that featured ornate architecture and tiled floors that was later burned by the Babylonians when they conquered Jerusalem in 586 B.C. Those features enabled archaeologists to identify the building as an administrative center for the Jewish government of the king.

Archaeologists Ayyala Rodan and Sveta Pnik, who are part of the project to excavate the original city of King David, made two finds; both of them bullae, which were utilized to hold rolls of papyrus. Yuval Gadot, one of the excavators, said excitedly, “This bulla connects to a whole context, a whole world, that we have been uncovering in this spot.”

Archaeologist Dr. Yiftah Shalev of the Israel Antiquities Authority added, “What is importance is not just that they were found in Jerusalem, but [that they were found] inside their true archaeological context. Shocking Photos Show Border Emergency as U.S. Deals With Surge of Illegal Aliens

By Daily Wire. Shocking photos emerged last week, taken by a journalist with HBO’s Vice TV, showing illegal immigrants being housed under an overpass near El Paso, Texas, after the local border patrol facilities ran out of room to house the thousands of migrants crossing the United States border.

This weekend, Customs and Border Protection officials moved the migrants, but acknowledged that it’s having trouble handling the influx of migrants across the Texas, Arizona, and New Mexico borders, and facilities are busting at the seams.

The photos, which made the rounds on social media last week, show recently arrived illegal immigrants in the process of being vetted by both border patrol and Immigrations and Customs Enforcement living together inside fencing under an El Paso overpass.

When Vice re-contacted CBP over the weekend, the makeshift encampment had been dismantled and the illegal immigrants were being held pending assessment on their claims of asylum.

Border patrol officials have not denied that conditions along the border are deteriorating, and that the situation is beyond their ability to manage. “Similar scenes are unfolding at border stations across the 1,900-mile frontier, where Kevin McAleenan, the commissioner of Customs and Border Protection, said last week that facilities had reached a ‘breaking point,'” according to MSN. By The Week. Acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney on Sunday announced on ABC News’ This Week it would take “something dramatic” to get President Trump to change his mind about shutting down the U.S.-Mexico border.

Sorry, Uncle Joe, They No Longer Serve Your Kind Here

You can’t teach an old dog woke tricks. But when you try, it’s hilarious.

On this farcical occasion, I’m talking about probable Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden, who is clearly a man out of time. In recently attempting to reassure the intersectionality identity cult about his role as Senate Judiciary chairman during 1991’s Clarence Thomas-Anita Hill Supreme Court hearings, Biden went to the “it’s a white man’s culture” card.

Settle down, hip-hop. You aren’t cutting your next rap album. You’re from Delaware.

Then there are questions like how the product of this so-called white man’s culture could lead to results like the black Clarence Thomas even being appointed to the court at all, and then yet another black guy Biden may know named Barack Obama being elected as president of the United States.

Does Biden remember that? I think he was Obama’s vice president for eight years or something.

And more than anything, the most pathetic thing about all of this is that Biden still looks at his party and thinks he has a place in it as standard-bearer. Come on, man. Bernie Sanders is more socialist than you. Kamala Harris is more black than you. Beto is more beta than you. Elizabeth Warren is more Native American than you. Amy Klobuchar is more woman than you. Pete Buttigieg is more gay than you. Cory Booker is more Spartacus than you.

And Uncle Joe is whiter and more male than them all. Basically he’s John Kasich without being the son of a mailman.

Don’t just take my conservative word for it, though. While CNN’s most accurate actual reporter may be the broken clock on its wall – thank you, Babylon Bee – one of its most progressive political propagandists is none other than Joan Walsh. And she thinks that if Biden really wants to change white man’s culture so much, then “don’t run.”

Not much gray area for you to navigate there, Joe. You are persona non grata. Don’t know if you’ve looked in the mirror lately, and by Walsh’s usual standards, she’s being as gentle as she can be with you, but you’re the paleface of white privilege. Sucks to be you.

Because unless you are willing to be a useful idiot who knows when to shut your hole and stick to your role as everyone else gets their intersectionality on, there is really nothing left for you to do in today’s Democrat party. Everyone must be made to care in this cultural jihad, Joe. Even you.

A few months ago, I was somewhat bullish on Biden’s general election chances. High name ID, likable to the average American, and he comes from a time when sharing a country with people like me wasn’t considered a nonstarter in the Democrat Party. But that was before the opening months of the Democrat presidential primary produced the following long train of abuses and usurpations:

1. Get rid of what little border security we have, because it’s not fair to the illegals to endure hardship to come to America.

2. Get rid of insurance companies so government can control your health care instead.

3. Kill ’em all (infanticide).

4. Christians can’t serve in public office.

5. The party of anti-Semitism.

6. The Green New Deal that proves it’s not about carbon emissions, it’s about Marxism.

7. Joining the Covington Catholic lynch mob.

I could continue, but by now that’s enough to tell us this — Biden is this cycle’s Jeb Bush, a candidate running for the nomination of a party that has passed him by. But if Jeb’s cardinal sin was an uncomfortable lack of self-awareness, Biden’s is the exact opposite. He’s too self-aware of his own inadequacies. Thus his pander-a-thon is a sign of weakness, not strength.

2 Pilots Killed in Marine Helicopter Crash

By AP. U.S. Marine Corps officials are investigating after two pilots died in a helicopter crash during a training mission in southwestern Arizona.

A statement from the Marine Corps Air Station says the crash of the AH-1Z Viper occurred at about 8:45 p.m. Saturday.

Marine Pilots Killed in Arizona Helicopter Crash

By USA Today. Capt. Gabriel Adibe, a Marine Corps spokesman, said the helicopter crashed on the vast Marine Corps Air Station Yuma training grounds but no additional information was immediately available.

The names of the pilots who died have not been released pending notification of their families.

The station is located about 2 miles (3.2 kilometers) from Yuma and the 1,300-square-mile (3,367-square-kilometer) training ground is one of the world’s largest military installations.

There have been several fatal crashes involving Marine Corps aircraft near Yuma over the years.

In 1996, a Marine electronic-warfare plane went down during a training mission on a gunnery range near the Gila Mountains, about 40 miles (64 kilometers) east of the Yuma station, killing all four people aboard. Doing away with insurance for kids who are 26 years of age or younger who are on their parents’ plans, doing away with the protections that the ACA has for preexisting conditions. Margaret, that means if your cancer, your heart disease, you have diabetes, if Trump gets his way, the cost of health insurance for you will be so high that many people literally will not be able to afford it. Bernie Defends Biden

Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) said Sunday that he’s “not sure that one incident alone” disqualifies Joe Biden from running for president after former Nevada state assemblywoman Lucy Flores (D) accused the former vice president of inappropriately touching and kissing her without her consent in 2014.

“That’s a decision for the vice president to make,” Sanders, a candidate for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination, said on CBS’s “Face the Nation” when asked if the allegation disqualifies Biden. “I’m not sure that one incident alone disqualifies anybody.”

Sanders added that he has “no reason not to believe” Flores, who said in an essay published Friday in New York Magazine’s The Cut that Biden touched her shoulders and kissed the back of her head before a Nevada campaign rally.

Yes, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez ‘Inspired’ Me. No, Not in the Way She Thinks

By The Daily Caller. As a conservative, I never thought the day would come when I would agree with Democratic Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez — but when she tweeted on Saturday that her St. Louis event (which I attended) had “inspired me,” I had to admit that she was right.

I would bet a considerable amount of money that we don’t agree for the same reasons, however.

Ocasio-Cortez, amid a full-scale Twitter assault on exiting Missouri Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill, took a moment to remind everyone that she had attended a rally in St. Louis — a rally intended to help newcomer Cori Bush topple longtime incumbent Missouri Democratic Rep. William “Lacy” Clay. . .

But I was not inspired by her calls for “free” college, because the emotional undertow in that room was not enough to make me forget that nothing is actually “free,” and that government cannot give anything to anyone without first confiscating it from someone else. It was not enough to make me forget economics and the fact that flooding the market with bachelor’s degrees would render them all but meaningless. . .

What really inspired me, truth be told, was not the event at all but the aftermath of it. For weeks, the hate mail came, accusing me of being heartless and cruel for refusing to say that the government not only should but must be responsible for providing health care and education. Messages poured in via Twitter and Facebook. A few people even stalked my Instagram — which has never been used for politics and was a place I hadn’t even posted in over a year. One letter came to my house, benign in content, but sending that oh-so-subtle “we know where you live” threat. Stephen Colbert even did a segment ridiculing me on national television. Trump Follows Through on Warning, Cuts off Aid From Central American Countries

The State Department announced Saturday it was cutting off aid to the Central American countries of El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala, home to the thousands of immigrants attempting to reach the U.S. illegally.

“At the Secretary’s instruction, we are carrying out the President’s direction and ending FY 2017 and FY 2018 foreign assistance programs for the Northern Triangle,” a spokesman with the State Department said. “We will be engaging Congress as part of this process.”

The State Department acknowledged it will need to “engage Congress in the process,” meaning it must win the approval of lawmakers before withholding the estimated $700 million in aid that would otherwise be given to the three Central American countries. . .

The Department of Homeland Security apprehended 50,000 to 60,000 illegal migrants a month in late 2018. More than 75,000 apprehensions and encounters were made in February — the highest number in over a decade. DHS estimates March to be another record-breaker, with apprehensions expected to near 100,000. March already experienced back-to-back records in single-day apprehensions. . .

Immigrants from Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras sent back a record $120 billion in remittances this decade, according to an immigration expert using U.N. and Latin American banking statistics. The numbers are expected to keep climbing, with immigrants from these three countries having sent $17 billion in 2018 alone. The Anti-Religious Crusade Continues: Chick-Fil-A Banned From ANOTHER Airport

Yesterday it was announced that Chick-fil-A would be coming to the Buffalo Niagara International Airport, located in Cheektowaga, N.Y. Chick-fil-A has only recently started opening locations in Western New York, where I live, and the prospect of them coming to BNIA, an airport I have flown out of many times, was a brilliant move. Many restaurants in the food court have been obviously underwhelming travelers. Chick-fil-A, with their popularity and growth, would be a perfect addition to the airport. . .

Likely due in part to his intervention, less than a day after the announcement, the decision to bring Chick-fil-A to the airport was reversed by the NFTA.

Assemblyman Ryan released the following statement following the NFTA’s reversal:

“Earlier today I spoke with the vendor of the Buffalo Airport food court project, and they informed me they will not be opening a Chick-fil-A as a part of their airport project. A publicly financed facility like the Buffalo Niagara International Airport is not the appropriate venue for a Chick-fil-A restaurant. I applaud the decision that has been made to remove Chick-fil-A from the plans for this project.

We hope in the future the NFTA will make every effort to contract with businesses that adhere to anti-discriminatory policies, and we’re confident another vendor who better represents the values of the Western New York community will replace Chick-fil-A as a part of this project in the very near future.”
