Girl, 5, Bullied for Saying Grace Before Meal

. . .It happened at a Scottish state school where the parents of a 5-year-old report their daughter was bullied for saying grace before a meal. . .

The parents said their daughter was “happy” growing up but, but grew depressed and dreaded school after being mocked, over and over, for expressing her Christian beliefs.

“A 5-year-old saying grace before lunch is not hurting anyone and she should be free to do that,” said Forbes. “I do think it is becoming more difficult for people with faith and that means that the schools and authorities have to do more to make sure schools are an inclusive environment.”

Free Church of Scotland minister Rev. Alasdair Macleod pointed out a “growing problem” of intolerance toward Christian students.

“It feels to me that schools are becoming an increasingly hostile environment for Christian pupils, and this hostility must stop,” he said. “Bullying, mocking or intimidation towards pupils on the basis of their Christian faith is unacceptable and needs to be recognized as such.” (Read more from “Girl, 5, Bullied for Saying Grace Before Meal” HERE)

NASA: Organic Matter Found on Mars

By WND. NASA announced Thursday its Curiosity rover has found organic matter preserved on Mars, suggesting the red planet may have once been home to life.

“The chances of being able to find signs of ancient life with future missions, if life ever was present, just went up,” said Curiosity’s project scientist, Ashwin Vasavada of NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California.

Thomas Zurbuchen, associate administrator for the Science Mission Directorate at NASA Headquarters in Washington, said that with the new findings, “Mars is telling us to stay the course and keep searching for evidence of life.” . . .

NASA describes the Mars Curiosity rover, launched Nov. 6, 2011, as the most technologically advanced rover ever built. It landed on Gale Crater on Aug. 6, 2012, with the aim of determining whether Mars ever had the capacity to support microbial life.

The rover already has analyzed a rock sample collected by the vehicle in 2013 showing ancient Mars could have supported living microbes. It also detected other organic molecules in a rock-powder sample collected by its drill. (Read more from “NASA: Organic Matter Found on Mars” HERE)

New Discoveries on Mars Are Advancing the Case for Life on the Red Planet

By TIME. New Mars discoveries are advancing the case for possible life on the red planet, past or even present.

Scientists reported Thursday that NASA’s Curiosity rover has found potential building blocks of life in an ancient Martian lakebed. Hints have been found before, but this is the best evidence yet.

The organic molecules preserved in 3.5 billion-year-old bedrock in Gale Crater — believed to once contain a shallow lake the size of Florida’s Lake Okeechobee — suggest conditions back then may have been conducive to life. That leaves open the possibility that microorganisms once populated our planetary neighbor and might still exist there.

“The chances of being able to find signs of ancient life with future missions, if life ever was present, just went up,” said Curiosity’s project scientist, Ashwin Vasavada of NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California. “Trump is using you as a political pawn,” Jones said, “so now you sort of, you’ve endorsed him in a way, you’ve kinda given him legitimacy. You might be in a campaign video – he used you.”

“I think Kanye has already been giving him legitimacy, so I don’t you know, in that way, so I don’t think I would be used,” Kardashian responded.

“At the end of the day, he heard me out,” she concluded. “We got the job done.” . . .

Smoking Gun? Sharyl Attkisson Shares Damning Edits to Comey’s Original Comments on Hillary Scandal

In what is being called the “smoking gun that the ‘fix’ was in,” investigative reporter Sharyl Attkisson tweeted what former FBI Director James Comey originally wrote in his comments on Hillary Clinton’s handling of classified emails and what his words looked like after suggested changes from an FBI reviewing official.

“Document 34: What Comey originally proposed to say about Clinton classified email, and the changes FBI reviewing official suggested,” Atkisson tweeted.

The original sentence: “There is evidence to support a conclusion that Secretary Clinton, and others, used the private email server in a manner that was grossly negligent with respect to the handling of classified information.

The edited sentence: “Although we did not find clear evidence that Secretary Clinton or her colleagues intended to violate the laws governing the handling of classified information, there is evidence that they were extremely careless in very sensitive, highly classified information.” . . .

Americans may now understand why the left is throwing everything, to include the kitchen sink, at President Donald Trump in a desperate attempt to remove him from office. As the fact that all of this occurred under the tutelage of their messiah, Barack Obama, is not lost on them. (Read more from “Smoking Gun? Parkland Activist’s Reaction to SWAT Incident at Home Is a Big Red Flag

. . .The media darling [David Hogg] who has made a name for himself for expressing outrage over gun violence — and the 5 million law-abiding members of the NRA — shrugged off a report that the Broward County Sheriff’s Office received a call reporting someone in his home with a weapon in a possible hostage situation, prompting a S.W.A.T. team to respond, ABC News reported.

Besides the remarkable fact that the media was on hand for the raid on the home, the “super-excited” 18-year-old brushed the incident off by calling it a “silly prank.” . . .

Hogg was not home at the time of the incident. He was in Washington, D.C. with his family accepting a human rights award from the Robert F. Kennedy foundation.

Of all the responses to the incident from Twitter, National Review’s Jim Geraghty may have tweeted the most cerebral response.

“They’ll release the 911 tape of the swatting of Hogg’s family to see if any members of the public can recognize the voice, right?” he asks. “Because this a crime, not merely a ‘silly prank.’”

Shock Report: Obama Lied to Congress and Skirted Sanctions to Try to Funnel Cash to Iran

A Senate report unveiled Wednesday displayed shocking new revelations about the “scandal-free” Obama administration and its hell-bent, desperate quest to secure a deal with the Iranian regime.

On Wednesday, the U.S. Senate Homeland Security Committee revealed that the Obama administration ignored U.S. sanctions, lied to Congress, and misled the American people in order to funnel billions of dollars to the terrorist regime that rules Iran.

The Associated Press reports:

“The Obama administration secretly sought to give Iran access — albeit briefly — to the U.S. financial system by sidestepping sanctions kept in place after the 2015 nuclear deal, despite repeatedly telling Congress and the public it had no plans to do so.”

The Senate committee found that the Obama Treasury Department planned to issue a sanctions-thwarting license to empower two U.S. banks to help Iran convert $5.7 billion Omani rials into Euros. They did this by first exchanging the Omani currency into U.S. dollars.

“If the Omani bank had allowed the exchange without such a license, it would have violated sanctions that bar Iran from transactions that touch the U.S. financial system,” the AP report added.

“The Obama administration misled the American people and Congress because they were desperate to get a deal with Iran,” Sen. Rob Portman, the chair of the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, said in a statement. “Despite claims both before and after the Iran deal was completed that the U.S. financial system would remain off limits, the Obama administration issued a specific license allowing Iran to convert billions of dollars in assets using the U.S. financial system.” (For more from the author of “Obama Lied to Congress and Skirted Sanctions to Try to Funnel Cash to Iran” please click HERE)

In 2018 GOP Primaries, Anti-Establishment Means Pro-Trump

There’s a popular meme in conservative political Twitter: “Establishment Always Wins.” Observing the results of recent primary elections, including Tuesday’s contests in eight states, it is apparent that at this moment, the meme is true and the Republican establishment is prevailing over more conservative candidates.

So far in the 2018 primary cycle, only one incumbent House Republican with a moderate voting record has been defeated by a conservative primary challenger. Most GOP incumbents, even the ones who voted for atrocious pieces of legislation like the $1.3 trillion omnibus spending bill, are sailing through Republican primaries unscathed. The pattern held Tuesday night, as no incumbent Republican was defeated in a primary — though Rep. Martha Roby, R-Ala., was forced into a runoff election because she did not win 50 percent of the vote in her first-place finish.

Conservatives are faring slightly better in open primaries, but only slightly. The Texas delegation is poised to shift to the right, as House Freedom Caucus-friendly candidates like Chip Roy have won Republican primaries in safe districts where more moderate Republicans are retiring. Last night, Freedom Caucus-endorsed candidate state Rep. Yvette Herrell won her primary in New Mexico’s 2nd Congressional District. But in New Jersey, conservative Steve Lonegan lost to self-described “moderate” John McCann. In past primaries this year, conservatives lost in two open House seats in Indiana, two open seats in Ohio, and the open seat in West Virginia’s 3rd Congressional District vacated by Rep. Evan Jenkins, R-W.Va. (F – Liberty Score® ).

There is, sadly, nothing like a Tea Party wave to knock out incumbent Republicans with conservative challengers in 2018 — a fact that may seem surprising after President Donald Trump’s dominating anti-establishment 2016 presidential campaign. Where are the voters who decided to block establishment figures like Jeb Bush from the 2016 GOP nomination?

Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon told the New York Times his theory is that “people are starting to realize that the anti-establishment thing is kind of a luxury we can’t afford right now.” However, Congress’ abysmal approval rating and the prevalence of Republicans running on Trump’s “drain the swamp” message seems to show voters are as fed up as ever with the Washington status quo. So why are Republican incumbents winning primaries when they are a part of this failing status quo? Counterintuitively, it’s because Donald Trump is the president.

Trump, as president, is the de facto head of the Republican Party. Whenever he uses his bully pulpit to declare that his administration wants to drain the swamp, the perception he creates among Republican voters is that the whole party is trying to drain the swamp. In politics, perception is reality. If a Republican running for Congress declares support for the president (virtually all of them have), then the perception among voters is that this candidate wants to drain the swamp.

In this way, in Republican primary contests in 2018, voters are identifying the anti-establishment candidates as the candidates who are most pro-Trump or the ones Trump supports.

Tuesday’s election results bear this out. The one Republican incumbent in trouble, Roby, is facing backlash because during the 2016 election, she declared she would not vote for Trump in the general. In the race where conservative Lonegan lost, his moderate Republican opponent deployed a brutal ad accusing Lonegan, a 2016 Cruz supporter and “free the delegates” activist during the Republican National Convention, of being anti-Trump. The ad featured clips of the president referring to Lonegan as a “loser.”

The big surprise of the night happened in New Jersey’s 2nd Congressional District, where 69-year-old attorney Seth Grossman came out of nowhere to win a four-man race with an underfunded campaign. Grossman ran an unabashedly pro-Trump campaign, adopting the president’s positions on immigration, supporting repeal of Obamacare’s mandates, teaching “what made America great in our schools again,” and stopping “obstruction and fake impeachment charges” against Trump. Running as the most pro-Trump candidate worked, and he shocked observers by winning the primary with double digits over the closest runner-up.

Republican primary voters are not looking for conservatives to challenge the GOP establishment in this cycle. They are looking for candidates who support President Trump’s agenda, because that agenda is perceived as the anti-establishment agenda.

The danger here lies in the fact that moderate and liberal Republican incumbents are being re-nominated in GOP primary contests even though they do not support Trump’s mission of draining the swamp. And disappointingly, President Trump continues to endorse failing-grade Liberty Score® incumbents like Sen. Roger Wicker, R-Miss., who have spent their careers in Washington D.C. creating the status quo voters elected Trump to disrupt. One Perfect Tweet Captures Why Americans Don’t Like National Anthem Protests

With all the rapid-fire controversy surrounding the NFL and the national anthem protests, people might lose sight of why protesting the national anthem is so upsetting to Americans in the first place.

Today, on the anniversary of the D-Day invasion of Normandy during World War II, veteran Navy Seal and New York Times bestselling author Robert J. O’Neill reminded everyone “why we don’t like kneeling.”

The sacrifice of generations of American soldiers of all colors, faiths, and national heritage who died to defend their families and their country is profaned by protesting the national anthem.

And that’s why people get upset. (For more from the author of “One Perfect Tweet Captures Why Americans Don’t Like National Anthem Protests” please click HERE)
