Devin Nunes Is a Badass

Devin Nunes, the eight-term Republican congressman from California, is taking on the world’s most powerful law enforcement and intelligence apparatus to uncover exactly what happened before and after the 2016 presidential election. Although Nunes is undoubtedly earning some formidable enemies, he seems undaunted—perhaps even emboldened—by the anti-Trump mob on the Left and the Right trying to discredit his investigation and destroy his reputation.

Nunes, 44, goes about his business in a way that only a politician who doesn’t owe his career to billionaire benefactors or a privileged pedigree can: He is fearless, well-informed, and slightly snarky. The descendant of Portuguese immigrants, Nunes has a background in agriculture (a profession that has been mocked by some of our well-fed betters) and got his start in local politics. Since he was first elected to represent his San Joaquin Valley district in 2002, he’s never won less than 60 percent of the vote. (Jim Geraghty has a solid profile of the congressman.)

As chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Nunes has been relentless in exposing how top officials in the Obama Administration corrupted our most trusted federal agencies in order to spy on Trump’s presidential campaign, hoping then to undermine his nascent presidency after he won. What is unfolding now will be the biggest political scandal in U.S. history and Nunes is a central figure in exposing it.

The hard-fought release of his memo in February—which was opposed by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and FBI Director Christopher Wray but sanctioned by President Trump—gave the American public its first glimpse into how Obama’s DOJ secured a warrant from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court to wiretap Trump campaign volunteer Carter Page just days before the election.

Nunes revealed that James Comey’s FBI did not inform the court that the Christopher Steele dossier, the primary evidence cited on the application for the warrant, had been produced and funded by Trump’s rival campaign. Further, the FBI didn’t disclose that Steele had been terminated by the FBI for lying to federal officials prior to Election Day although the agency continued to use his work to reauthorize three more FISA warrants on Page. (The Senate Judiciary Committee referred Steele to the Justice Department back in January for a criminal investigation of charges that he misled FBI investigators.) Good Morning Campers – It’s Denim Day at West Point!

. . .According to West Point’s official Facebook page, It’s #DenimDay at #USMA! Today’s uniform choice is part of an international effort to raise awareness of and prevent future sexual assault and harassment. Cadets, staff and faculty alike wore jeans to show commitment to ending sexual assault and harassment. For more info on Denim Day visit: https://denimdayinfo.org

Isn’t that just so politically correct? Isn’t that just so progressive? Cadets, feel free to just rip off your uniform and put those skinny jeans on to show how much empathy you have for victims of sexual assault and harassment. Last year it was red high heels. This year it’s Calvin Klein’s.

And, for you transgender cadets, let it all hang out. Guys, wear that lipstick with the jeans, maybe some high heels too. Be yourself, no one there cares, especially the cadre. After all, they let a communist graduate.

No, it’s not an episode of the Twilight Zone. It’s another day in Mattis’ Military. You remember General Mattis. He was the tough hombre with the PX haircut and the big book collection who was going to kick in the door to the PC saloon at the Pentagon and kick some butt and take names.

Then, he met Senator Kirsten Gillibrand and the Mad Dog became a Chihuahua. Sometime during his confirmation hearing he surrendered his family jewels to her in a US Government mason jar and never looked back.

And, the castration of the US military marches on at March 4. (Read more from “Good Morning Campers – It’s Denim Day at West Point!” HERE)

Feds Struggle to Cope with Growing Wave of Unaccompanied Child Migrants

By The Daily Caller. Unaccompanied children continue to be one of the government’s biggest and most complex immigration challenges, Trump administration officials said Thursday.

In testimony before a Senate Homeland Security subcommittee, senior officials with the Departments of Homeland Security (DHS) and Health and Human Services (HHS) told lawmakers that federal agencies are struggling to process and keep track of migrant children after they are caught illegally crossing the southwest border.

Illustrating the point, Steven Wagner, the acting head of HHS’s Administration for Children and Families, revealed that his agency lost track of nearly 20 percent of the migrant children placed with sponsors during a three month period last year.

From October to December 2017, officials at the HHS’s refugee office contacted 7,635 children and their sponsors, but were unable to determine with certainty the whereabouts of 1,475 of them, Wagner said in prepared testimony.

Details of the unaccompanied alien children (UAC) programs came as Congress seeks to evaluate how federal agencies ensure migrant children in their care are tracked as they wind their way through years-long immigration court proceedings. Government watchdogs have found deficiencies in the programs, despite a February 2016 memorandum of agreement between DHS and HHS to establish new guidelines for handling UAC cases. Top Homeland Security Officials Urge Criminal Prosecution of Parents Crossing Border with Children

By The Washington Post. The nation’s top immigration and border officials are urging Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen to detain and prosecute all parents caught crossing the Mexican border illegally with their children, a stark change in policy that would result in the separation of families that until now have mostly been kept together.

If approved, the zero-tolerance measure could split up thousands of families, although officials say they would not prosecute those who turn themselves in at legal ports of entry and claim asylum. More than 20,000 of the 30,000 migrants who sought asylum during the first quarter — the period from October-December — of the current fiscal year crossed the border illegally.

In a memorandum that outlines the proposal and was obtained by The Washington Post, officials say that threatening adults with criminal charges and prison time would be the “most effective” way to reverse the steadily rising number of attempted crossings. Most parents now caught crossing the border illegally with their children are quickly released to await civil deportation hearings. Internet Star Ken Bone Says Son Was Suspended from School for Going to a Gun Range

Ken Bone, the man who became Internet famous for asking questions during one of the 2016 Presidential debates (and for wearing a now-iconic red pullover), says his son was suspended from school pending an investigation after Bone posted a photo of him and his son getting time in at the gun range.

On Thursday, Bone reposted the photo, noting that his son was now facing an inquiry from school officials.

Bone initially posted the photo as a response to Parkland mass shooting survivor Kyle Kashuv after Kashuv, himself, was questioned by police over a photo of him spending time at the gun range learning how to operate an AR-15. Bone captioned the photo with a story about how he was teaching his son “how to shoot safely,” and suggesting that “maybe those security guys want to talk to him.”

Iran’s Supreme Leader Urges Muslim Countries to Stand United Against America

By WND. On Thursday, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei went on state television and urged all Muslim nations to resist America and its allies.

According to Reuters, Khameini blustered, “The Iranian nation has successfully resisted bullying attempts by America and other arrogant powers and we will continue to resist. All Muslim nations should stand united against America and other enemies.”

Iranian leaders have been ratcheting up their belligerent rhetoric in recent days as the deadline draws nearer for President Trump to withdraw from the Iranian nuclear deal that Barack Obama signed in 2015. The deal meant the West stopped imposing sanctions on Iran for its nuclear program. (Read more from “Iran’s Supreme Leader Urges Muslim Countries to Stand United Against America” HERE)

REVEALED: Kanye West Is Watching Conservative Thinker Jordan Peterson’s Videos. Peterson’s Reaction Is Priceless.

A new tweet containing a video posted by Kanye West shows the rapper had his browser opened to a video by massively-influential conservative professor and speaker Dr. Jordan Peterson.

Here’s the tweet:

At the top left, a tab reads, “Why You Need Art in Your Life,” which is the title of a video of a Dr. Peterson lecture . . .

This is a tough break for the Left, recently crushed by West’s profession of “love” for President Donald Trump, whom they despise. Now West is listening to a thought-provoking values-centered professor who’s been known to advocate for freedom of thought and free speech — issues leftists are not exactly crazy about. Not to mention that Peterson first hit the media for pushing-back against the Left’s transgender ideology, an unspeakable sin to the Left. Alfie Evans’ Parents Release Heartbreaking Note to Protesters as They Fight to Bring Their Son Home

Alfie Evans’ parents have issued a heartbreaking note to supporters, asking them to stand down as they negotiate with the hospital to bring their dying child home, after reportedly being told they must make a major change in how they approach Alder Hey Hospital and Alfie’s medical team if they plan on letting their child die in peace in their comforting arms.

According to a shocking passage from the U.K.’s Telegraph, Alfie’s doctors told reporters that Alfie’s parents must make a “sea change” in their attitude toward the medical system holding their son hostage. . .

Alfie’s parents told media Thursday afternoon that they plan to meet with Alfie’s doctors as soon as possible. Alder Hey Hospital withdrew Alfie’s life support on Monday, but the child has survived, breathing on his own with only minimal help since then (although there has reportedly been no improvement in his condition).

In an apparent bid to placate doctors, Alfie’s parents released their note Thursday, through their lawyers, asking protesters to stand down and give both the family and the hospital privacy.

Alfie’s supporters were quick to observe that the note felt forced, as if Alfie’s parents had farmed the statement out to professionals — lawyers and public relations representatives — so that they could have even a small chance at bringing their boy to home for what doctors say will be his last hours. After all, Alfie’s parents are still very young, and not very well off, and they’re now at the mercy of Alder Hey Hospital.

Bill Cosby Found Guilty of Sexual Assault

By CNN. A jury found Bill Cosby guilty of three counts of aggravated indecent assault on Thursday, for drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand at his home in a Philadelphia suburb in 2004.

The 80-year-old comedian faces up to 10 years in prison on each count, but Cosby is likely to serve them concurrently. A sentencing hearing with Judge Steven O’Neill has not yet been scheduled, and Cosby remains out on bail.

Cosby did not audibly react to his conviction, but erupted shortly afterward. Minutes after the verdict, prosecutors asked the judge to revoke Cosby’s bail. They said he is a flight risk and has a private plane.

Cosby, who did not testify in the trial and has sat quietly through the proceedings, stood up and yelled in a booming voice: “He doesn’t have a plane, you asshole. (Read more from “Bill Cosby Found Guilty of Sexual Assault” HERE)

Bill Cosby Found Guilty of Sexual Assault in Retrial

By The New York Times. A jury found Bill Cosby guilty Thursday of drugging and sexually assaulting a woman at his home near here 14 years ago, capping the downfall of one of the world’s best-known entertainers, and offering a measure of satisfaction to the dozens of women who for years have accused him of similar assaults against them.

On the second day of its deliberations at the Montgomery County Courthouse, the jury convicted Mr. Cosby of three counts of aggravated indecent assault against Andrea Constand, at the time a Temple University employee . . .

The impression of change was evident within the trial itself when the defense attacked the credibility of five women who had testified that they, too, believed Mr. Cosby had drugged and sexually assaulted them. Kathleen Bliss, one of Mr. Cosby’s lawyers, called one of the women a failed starlet who slept around. She branded another a publicity seeker. This Is Why Trump Calls Comey a ‘Liar’ and a ‘Leaker’

By WND. Former FBI director James Comey insisted in a Fox News interview Thursday evening he did not violate the law when he had a friend pass on to the media memos of his conversations with President Trump, which had portions that later were determined by the FBI to be classified.

“Special Report” anchor Bret Baier noted that the employment agreement Comey signed with the FBI prohibits the disclosure of any information related to bureau files or acquired by virtue of his employment without prior written permission from the FBI.

“Did you have written permission?” Baier asked.

“No,” Comey said. “And I didn’t consider it part of an FBI file.”

But isn’t a memo of the FBI director’s conversation with the president of the United States considered “work product”? (Read more from “This Is Why Trump Calls Comey a ‘Liar’ and a ‘Leaker'” HERE)

Comey Says Justice Department Watchdog Interviewed Him over Handling of Memos

By Fox News. Former FBI Director James Comey told Fox News on Thursday night that the Justice Department’s Office of the Inspector General has interviewed him about his handling of memos detailing conversations between Comey and President Trump.

Fox News reported last week that the DOJ watchdog was looking into whether Comey gave classified information to unauthorized sources as part of a broader review of the former director’s outside communications, including with the media.

Comey told “Special Report” host Bret Baier that he expected Inspector General Michael E. Horowitz to issue a report about the memos “not on the handling of classified information, because that’s frivolous, but on: Did I comply with policy? Did I comply with my employment agreement?”

Comey, whom Trump fired in May 2017, emphatically denied Thursday that sharing the memos with his legal team constituted a leak of classified information. Instead he compared the process to keeping a “diary.”

“I didn’t consider it part of an FBI file,” Comey told Baier when discussing one of the memos. “It was my personal aide-memoire … I always thought of it as mine.” (Read more from “Comey Says Justice Department Watchdog Interviewed Him over Handling of Memos” HERE)

Autism Disorder Increases in U.S. Children

U.S. autism prevalence has grown, according to a federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report, with about 1.7 percent of 8-year-olds affected in 11 states.

The study, based on 2014 research, again identifies New Jersey with the highest incidence. One in 34 children in that state, or 3 percent, fall on what’s called the autism spectrum, which encompasses a range of social, behavioral and learning disorders ranging from the barely noticeable to the profoundly debilitating.

Nationally, the prevalence has increased 150 percent since 2000, according to the study, which called autism “an urgent public-health concern.” . . .

Researchers aren’t sure what causes autism, although they suspect environmental risks or triggers. It has no cure. They caution that more children being diagnosed doesn’t necessarily mean that autism is becoming more common.

New Jersey — a wealthy, educated state with ready access to world-class health care in Philadelphia and New York City — has “better access to higher-quality information that lets us be more complete” in screening, Walter Zahorodny, a New Jersey Medical School professor and director of the New Jersey Autism Study, said in a conference call about the findings.
