Researchers Just Made a Terrifying Discovery in the Cellphone-Cancer Risk

By The Blaze. For years, researchers have questioned if excessive cellphone use is linked to cancer.

Millions of people every day are constantly connected to their phones – making calls, texting, taking pictures, and surfing social media. Even cellular radiation experts can have a hard time disconnecting.

But a new study suggests cellphone use can increase the chance of developing cancer, KDKA-TV reported. Studies from France and Italy had similar findings.

The issue is especially timely as 5G, a new and stronger broadband, is expected to come online later this year.

The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences at Research Triangle Park in North Carolina recently hosted a panel of the world’s top experts to review findings from a $25 million study on cellphones and cancer, according to WNCN-TV. Can Cellphones Cause Cancer? Experts Surprised by Latest Tests

By CBS. Can cellphones really cause cancer? It’s been a question that’s dogged researchers for years.

The panel voted that the results from years of testing on mice and rats were more significant than originally thought.

They say they found clear evidence that phone radiation caused tumors in the hearts of rats, which were similar to tumors in people.

“In humans, it’s seen in the vestibular nerve, in the ear, the acoustic nerve. We found it in the heart, although our animals were exposed in their whole body condition,” John Bucher said.

“While a given animal is not making a cellphone call, they are, throughout their short two-year lifetime getting the same exposure that we expect people to get in their 70-plus years of life,” Dr. Devra Davis, of Environmental Health Trust, said. Hillary Clinton Says Everyone Who Tells Her This Is Being Sexist

By The Blaze. Former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton decried what she saw as sexist remarks from many who were telling her to “go away” after her shocking loss to Donald Trump in the 2016 election . . .

Clinton made the comments before an audience at Rutgers University Thursday.

“I was really struck how people said that to me, you know, mostly people in the press for whatever reason, you know, ‘go away go away,’” she told the audience of about 5,000.

“And I had one of the young people who works for me go back and a bit of research. They never said that to any man who was not elected,” she added, implying that the criticism was coming from a sexist sentiment.

Hillary Clinton Cites Sexism in Criticism She Should Exit Political Stage

By CNN. . .Ruth Mandel, director of the university’s Eagleton Institute of Politics, had asked Clinton what her response has been to people who call for her “‘get off the public stage and shut up.'”
“They never said that to any man who was not elected,” Clinton said. “I was kind of struck by that.”

She went on to reference former presidential contenders who had lost their bid for the White House but did not shrink away from political discussion.

“I’m really glad that, you know, Al Gore didn’t stop talking about climate change,” Clinton said of the former Democratic vice president who ran for president in 2000.

She continued, “And I’m really glad John Kerry went to the Senate and became an excellent secretary of state.”

“And I’m really glad John McCain kept speaking out and standing up and saying what he had to say,” Clinton said of the Arizona Republican. (Read more from “Hillary Clinton Cites Sexism in Criticism She Should Exit Political Stage” HERE)

Here’s What Happened to Laura Ingraham’s Ratings After the Hogg Controversy

By The Blaze. According to the San Francisco Gate, Ingraham lost 6 percent of total viewers from Wednesday to Thursday, and 9 percent in the key demo of Americans aged 25 to 54.

Ingraham had 2.152 million total viewers on Thursday, down 137,000 from 2.289 million on Wednesday. This allowed MSNBC’s progressive program from Lawrence O’Donnell to steal the top spot from Ingraham in overall viewers.

Although she saw a decline in ratings overall and was overcome by MSNBC, Ingraham can console herself by knowing her show hasn’t sunk below CNN’s viewership which came in at third with only 839,000 total viewers.

Ingraham’s show has been struck with a boycott by those who were offended at her mockery of David Hogg over his not being accepted into the colleges of his choice. Hogg called for a boycott, after which Ingraham apologized for her comments. (Read more from “Here’s What Happened to Laura Ingraham’s Ratings After the Hogg Controversy” HERE)

Laura Ingraham Announces Vacation Amid Advertiser Boycott

By CBS News. Fox News’ Laura Ingraham announced Friday she would be taking a vacation the next week to celebrate Easter with her family as advertisers have dropped her show after she criticized a Parkland school shooting survivor. Her supporters have launched the hashtag #IStandWithLaura.

In April 2017, embroiled in an advertiser boycott, Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly announced he would be taking vacation for Easter. He was later fired by the network.

Eleven companies so far have withdrawn their ads from Ingraham’s Fox News program after she feuded with a survivor of the Parkland, Florida, school shooting over Twitter. The Atlantis, Paradise Island resort; Office Depot, Jenny Craig, Hulu, Nutrish, TripAdvisor, Expedia, Wayfair, StitchFix, Nestlé and Johnson & Johnson said they would pull ads from the show. California’s Latest Claim: Sexual Orientation Counseling ‘Fraud’

The stunning intervention in the practice of counselors who assist people with same-sex attractions is proposed in a new bill introduced by the Assembly.

The sponsors contend “contemporary science recognizes that being lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender is part of the natural spectrum of human identity and is not a disease, disorder, or illness.”

That assumption, in defiance of virtually all medical and mental health conclusions for much of the 20th century that homosexuality is a disorder, is their starting point.

They then cite the statements of organizations, such as the Pan American Health Organization, that support homosexuality.

They argue: “Courts, including in California, have recognized the practice of sexual orientation change efforts as a commercial service. Therefore, claims that sexual orientation change efforts are effective in changing an individual’s sexual orientation, may constitute unlawful, unfair, or fraudulent business practices under state consumer protection laws. This bill intends to make clear that sexual orientation change efforts are an unlawful practice under California’s Consumer Legal Remedies Act.” (Read more from “California’s Latest Claim: Sexual Orientation Counseling ‘Fraud'” HERE)

High School Staffer Threatens to ‘Execute Every White Man’

By Fox News. A high school in Connecticut was on lockdown Wednesday after a school employee who wanted to “execute every white man” threatened to go on a killing rampage, police said.

A suspect identified as Carl Lemon, 63, an in-school suspension coordinator at Harding High School in Bridgeport, was charged with second-degree threat and breach of peace, the Connecticut Post reported. He was released on $5,000 bond.

Officers responded to the school following an alert of a possible threatening situation. Dane Brown, the school’s principal, said the man made threatening comments to a teacher.

Police claim Lemon said he hates white people and couldn’t wait “for the panthers to give the OK and a revolution begins because he will execute every white man he gets his hands on.”

The school staff member also allegedly stomped on an American flag and told students in the classroom that “This is what I think about it.” (Read more from “High School Staffer Threatens to ‘Execute Every White Man'” HERE)

Threat to Independent Media Worse Than You Know

I feel like the prophet Jeremiah. He was always the prophet I did not want to be when I grew up. He not only was the bearer of bad news to Israel, but he did not exactly live a mostly comfortable life – like Ezekiel and Daniel.

But it’s been my misfortune to raise alarms about the devastating attacks by the Digital Cartel – Google-Facebook – on the independent media. They’ve been going on for a long time to be sure. But the scorched-earth policy began last summer – and it’s been killing sites like WND, Breitbart, Daily Caller, et al.

Just this week, for instance, Politico published a story almost gleefully reporting that my friends at Breitbart.com have lost half their traffic and even more advertising during this siege by the politically motivated giants of the internet. Even if the reports are exaggerated, we’re talking about an imminent, existential threat to the biggest of the big independent media sites . . .

This war on us is not going away. We’re all in the same boat – and Google-Facebook are shooting holes in it. It’s a massive power play that not only threatens the independent media that were so important as a reality check in the 2016 presidential election but is crippling us in the critical 2018 election battle for control of Congress.

But it’s even bigger than that, I’m afraid. I honestly believe that this fight, at the end of the day, will determine whether or not freedom of speech on the internet will survive. I think the independent media are just the lab rats in a grand and gruesome experiment for total control of thought by the left. If the lab rats die, it will be on to stifling other voices through intimidation and humiliation. (Read more from “Threat to Independent Media Worse Than You Know” HERE)

Fact Check: Here’s Who Really Marched to Outlaw Guns

By The Blaze. The media narrative is wrong again. Based on survey research from the March for Our Lives, the Washington Post says the crowd of anti-gun protesters was not mostly young people . . .

Despite the perception that teens are leading this push for gun control, the average adult in the March for Our Lives crowd was around 49 years old.

The research team uses a system of going through the crowd to sample every fifth person at certain increments with the event area. For the March for Our Lives, the researchers collected information from 256 randomly selected people.

Glenn’s take:

“It was 90 percent [older people] and you never saw that represented on TV. You’ve only seen the young people,” Glenn said. “How do you shoot around an audience that is 90 percent middle-aged?”

Report: Only 10 Percent of D.C. March for Our Lives Protesters Were Under 18

By Washington Free Beacon. Only about a tenth of participants in the March for Our Lives rally in Washington D.C. over the weekend were actually minors, according to a sociology professor’s analysis.

University of Maryland professor Dana R. Fisher has been surveying rallies and protests in the nation’s capital since Donald Trump’s inauguration in preparation for an upcoming book on the “Resistance” to the president. In a Washington Post analysis published Wednesday, she detailed how she randomly sampled 256 attendees of the gun-control rally . . .

Fisher found that the march did manage to draw in a higher-than-average percentage of first-time protesters, about 27 percent. But of those first-timers, only 12 percent said they were motivated by the issue of gun control, with over half saying they were motivated by Trump or “peace” in general. WATCH: Moderator Invokes Nazism When Talking About America — Hillary Has BIZARRE Response

By The Daily Caller. Hillary Clinton gave a talk at Rutgers University Thursday and at one point the moderator invoked Nazism when talking about what “could happen” in America.

Clinton’s response may leave your head scratching.

The moderator said, “As someone who grew up in Vienna and barely escaped the Holocaust, my mother would say from time to time that it could happen here. And, I was–I would be very dismissive of that. I would dismiss it and I would dismiss her comments and her fears as implausible.”

“I now find–it’s shocking I’m even about to ask this question–but, I do want you to talk about, what are your concerns about the stability of our democratic institutions and structures in these tumultuous moments? And what for you is the essence of American democracy?”

Hillary’s long-winded response to the invocation of Nazism in comparison to America touched on a number of things, including the “absolutely essential role of the press.”

“Well, I am fundamentally optimistic and hopeful, but I don’t think that optimism and hope is warranted unless we do what we’re supposed to do as citizens,” Clinton said. “And so, I worry about the degradation of institutions, the dismissing of norms and values–because remember, a democracy is fundamentally held together by trust.” (Read more from “WATCH: Moderator Invokes Nazism When Talking About America — Hillary Has BIZARRE Response” HERE)

Clinton Calls 2016 Election ‘Traumatic,’ Admits She’d Like to ‘Take Back’ Some Things She Said

By Fox News. Almost a year and a half since losing her bid for president, former Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton still is talking about election woes, calling it a “traumatic” experience.

Speaking at Rutgers University Thursday, Clinton spoke primarily about being a woman in politics — and being targeted as a result, the problem Republicans face as a disjointed unit, the upcoming elections and her hopes that the recent events under the Trump administration would motivate people enough to vote for change.

When asked about being told to get off the public stage and “shut up,” Clinton said she was “struck” by the fact that “they never said that to any man,” citing unsourced research from “one of the young people” on her staff.

Clinton also mentioned being called “shrill” by the media, which she said never commented on her opponent’s habit of “finger waving.”

“It’s about time that women were allowed to be themselves the way men are allowed to be themselves,” she said. (Read more from “Clinton Calls 2016 Election ‘Traumatic,’ Admits She’d Like to ‘Take Back’ Some Things She Said” HERE)

Microsoft Warns Customers: Watch What You Say When Using Our Products – or Else

We can now add a new Microsoft policy of punishing account users who use “offensive language” while logged into one of their products or services to the growing list of draconian measures employed by tech companies to police online content.

In a release summarizing the new policy, which will go into effect May 1, Microsoft stated:

In the Code of Conduct section, we’ve clarified that use of offensive language and fraudulent activity is prohibited.

Microsoft stated that they may temporarily suspend or boot offending users permanently from their products. They also reserve the right to search through user content.

The company’s code of conduct was written to crack down on spam, the transmission of malware, child exploitation, and illegal activity. So far, Microsoft has not been explicit about what will constitute offensive language.

Users expect the policy to have the biggest effect on Xbox Live players, who are known to troll each other during games. But other Microsoft customers worry the new code of conduct could restrict free speech on platforms like Skype and OneDrive.

Civil rights activist Jonathan Corbett challenged the company in a blog post, writing:

So wait a sec: I can’t use Skype to have an adult video call with my girlfriend? I can’t use OneDrive to back up a document that says ‘f–k’ in it? What’s clear here is that Microsoft is reserving the right to cancel your account whenever they feel like it.

While users commenting on Reddit claim the policy is really nothing new, many Microsoft customers and tech users fear the move is a pretext for censoring people. It adds to an intensifying debate regarding tech companies and social media companies like Facebook, Twitter, and Google tweaking their algorithms to control page reach and enacting measures that restrict creative expression and free speech. Some journalists claim the Big 5 tech companies — Facebook, Google, Microsoft, Apple, and Amazon — as well as other information gatekeepers, are taking censorship cues from Washington lawmakers and acting as the de facto face of repressive government. Man Who Mercilessly Beat Autistic Man Shows up to Court Covered in Bruises

Parmvir Singh Chahil, caught on video allegedly punching and kicking an autistic man, showed up in court Monday bruised from beatings he took in jail, the Toronto Sun reports.

“He got his butt kicked inside [Maplehurst jail] over the weekend,” a Canada Corrections insider told the Sun. “Maplehurst inmates read the papers and watch TV, too.”

Chalil entered the courtroom in Ontario covered as much as possible to hide his body from reporters and cameras. He tried to keep his head down but could not hide the bruises and cuts on his face and his swollen right ear . . .

Three men, who are thought to be Chalil, Ronjot Singh Dhami and one other yet to be identified, allegedly committed an “unprovoked” attack on a man with autism at bus station in Mississauga, Canada. The victim was taking off a pair of roller skates when three men attacked him with kicks and punches that broke the victim’s nose, CP24 News reports.
