Controversy Erupts Over Scene in New Trailer for Pixar’s Finding Dory

LGBT activists on social media have repeatedly called on Disney to introduce more gay characters into its movies, and based on a new trailer for Pixar’s Finding Dory, there’s a possibility Disney has listened.

After the two-minute clip featured a brief scene with what appears to be two female partners next to a baby stroller, people took to Twitter and Facebook to voice concern and excitement.

The controversy erupted after posters on Twitter pointed to the trailer scene and described the pair as a lesbian couple. Others, however, stated they might be simply two women standing next to each other.

Disney has been accused of subtly suggesting gay characters in both Zootopia as well as Frozen, but this would be the first openly gay couple featured by Disney should the rumors turn out to be true.

As of yet, Disney has not weighed in on the controversy.

Some have expressed an intention to boycott the film, while others have lauded Disney for what they surely consider a progressive move.

So far, the long-anticipated followup to Pixar’s Finding Nemo has garnered significant attention, racking up several million views on the trailer alone.

White House Put on Lock Down Right After Obama Returns From Memorial Day Ceremony

According to developing reports Monday, the White House was placed on lock down shortly after President Barack Obama had returned to the executive mansion from his Memorial Day visit to the Arlington National Cemetery.

Local news reports included sightings of emergency personnel — including hazard materials teams — responding to the White House. At least one individual allegedly tossed a suspicious package over the property’s perimeter wall.

Reporters on the scene indicated they were temporarily prevented from leaving the White House grounds, but were later ushered out through a separate exit. (For more from the author of “White House Put on Lock Down Right After Obama Returns From Memorial Day Ceremony” please click HERE)

The Very Best Gun for the Beginning Prepper

So here’s the deal. The first gun that a new prepper ought to get should be one that makes practice as easy as possible. Shooting is fun! But you won’t realize that until you do some. That first firearm should be inexpensive, both in initial acquisition and in the cost of ammunition. It should be something that you – and your other family members – can shoot with minimal training.

It should be a handgun.

Now a lot of the gun aficionados thought I was leading up to a .22 caliber rifle. And yes, every prepper should have one of those, if for no other reason than to have a rifle available to loan to a friend during a zombie attack, thereby allowing you to keep the much better defensive weapons for yourself.

There are a lot of sound reasons for a “handgun first” policy. Here are a few:

Dimensions. Try carrying a long gun concealed. You’ll walk like Frankenstein. Handguns allow you to carry concealed practically anywhere on your body, and concealed or not, when holstered they keep your hands free and allow your body to move naturally. If you are working around the compound and not in a elevated DEFCON, that means that you won’t be having your long gun, the one you so carefully leaned against a barn wall while you fixing a fence, fall over into a pile of bovine end product (as mine almost always seem to do). If something is easy to carry, you’re more likely to carry it. Simple.

S. Korea Says North Fails With Attempted Missile Launch

North Korea on Tuesday appeared to have tried and failed with a fresh ballistic missile launch in violation of existing UN resolutions, South Korea’s defence ministry said.

The ministry declined to speculate on the missile type, but local media cited military sources as saying it was a powerful, medium-range Musudan missile that has already undergone three failed launches this year.

UN resolutions ban North Korea from any use of ballistic missile technology, although it regularly fires short-range missiles into the sea off its east coast.

Tuesday’s failed effort came with tensions still running high on the divided Korean peninsula following the North’s fourth nuclear test in January and long-range rocket launch a month later.

The defense ministry in Seoul said the missile test took place at around 5:20 am South Korean time (2020 GMT Monday) near the eastern port city of Wonsan. (Read more from “S. Korea Says North Fails With Attempted Missile Launch” HERE)

Mitt Romney Explains His Reasons for Opposing Donald Trump for President

Former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has been relentless in his attacks on the integrity of Donald Trump.

A article in Politico quotes Romney saying, “I know that some people are offended that someone who lost and is the former nominee continues to speak, but that’s how I can sleep at night.”

The former Republican nominee went on to relay a conversation he had with his son, where he was asked, “When the grandkids ask ‘What did you do to stop Donald Trump?’ what are you going to say?’”

Despite his opposition to Trump, Romney has confirmed he will not run for president as a third-party candidate. “I made it clear I’m not running,” he said.

He also stated he will not vote for Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton in the November general election.

According to an NBC news article from March, Romney, speaking on Meet The Press, called Trump “anything but presidential.” He vowed he would vote; however, his vote would be cast for a candidate who he believes is a real conservative and someone people can be proud of, adding, “and I may write in a name if I can’t find such a person.”

In a speech Romney delivered to a crowd at the University of Utah, he said, “Let me put it plainly, if we Republicans choose Donald Trump as our nominee, the prospects for a safe and prosperous future are greatly diminished.

“First, the economy: If Donald Trump’s plans were ever implemented, the country would sink into a prolonged recession,” he said. Romney pointed Trumps plan to impose a 35 percent tariff-like penalty which he says would only serve to instigate trade wars, increase consumer prices and kill export jobs.

Romney reminded the listeners of some of Trump’s failed business ideas, such as Trump Airlines, Trump University and Trump Magazine, to name a few. “A business genius, he is not,” he said. Memorial Day: Sacrifice Forgotten

If you do nothing else this Memorial Day, take a few minutes to watch this video. It is a heart-wrenching reminder of the sacrifice that our service members and their families have selflessly made – for us.

It’s easy to breeze by Memorial Day, giving little thought to veterans, while you enjoy a well-deserved day off with family. But when confronted with photos of a wife weeping at her slain soldier’s grave, or a daughter collapsed face-first into the freshly turned dirt above her father’s casket, or a son – tears streaming down his rosy cheeks – trying to keep it together at his dad’s funeral, it starts to give a little sense of the reality of loss suffered by thousands of our fellow Americans. They’ve given everything.

Obviously, Memorial Day is not ‘happy’ for them. For us, it’s a time for us to honor their sacrifice and pray for them.

Regrettably, some of our fellow Americans don’t see it that way. Instead, they think it appropriate to deface war memorials, beat elderly war veterans, and ridicule their service. Others deface our veterans’ sacrifices in other ways, by embracing political leaders and causes wholly contrary to the very Constitution that our veterans swore their oaths to and fought for.

So how do we honor this sacrifice? Not by rolling over in the face tyranny. Not by throwing up our hands and saying, “There’s nothing I can do!” Rather, we honor their ultimate sacrifice by being willing to stand up and fight against the insidious forces that are assaulting our constitutional and moral foundations, no matter how insurmountable they may appear.

Libertarians Select 2016 Ticket on Wild Convention Day, Party Chairman Candidate Strips on Stage (Seriously)

The Libertarian Party again nominated former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson as its presidential candidate Sunday, believing he can challenge presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump and Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton because of their poor showing in popularity polls . . .

Johnson, 63, won the nomination on the second ballot at the convention, defeating Austin Petersen, the founder of The Libertarian Republic magazine; and anti-computer virus company founder John McAfee. The delegates selected former Massachusetts Gov. William Weld to be his vice presidential running mate . . .

At one point on Sunday, Petersen reportedly confronted Johnson over the selection of Weld as his running mate. Johnson apparently told his rival, “This is not the place” and walked away.

While Petersen has endorsed Johnson, he referred to Weld as a “horrible statist.”

Then of course, this happened.

What Obama’s Bathroom Directive Really Does

On May 13, the Obama administration sent a letter to public schools on the topic of transgender students and where they use the restroom. But the directive, issued as “significant guidance,” didn’t just apply to the bathrooms. It also entered the space of locker rooms, showers, dorms, overnight hotels, and other places you might not expect. Watch the video to see The Daily Signal break down where exactly the Obama administration’s bathroom directive applies, and where it doesn’t.

OBAMA’S LEGACY: The Terrorist Cancer Is… Growing

Responding to criticism of President Obama’s handling of terrorism, White House press secretary Josh Earnest boasted Thursday of all the setbacks the Islamic State has experienced in recent months, noting that in Iraq “45 percent of the populated area that ISIL previously controlled has been retaken from them. In Syria, that figure is now 20 percent.”

That’s like a patient who ignored a cancer diagnosis bragging that he finally reduced the tumor in his lung — glossing over the fact that he let it spread and metastasize to his other organs. If he had attacked the Islamic State cancer early, Obama could have stopped it from spreading in the first place. But instead, he dismissed the terrorist group as the “JV team” that was “engaged in various local power struggles and disputes” and did not have “the capacity and reach of a bin Laden” and did not pose “a direct threat to us.” He did nothing, while the cancer grew in Syria and then spread in Iraq.

Now the cancer has spread and metastasized across the world.

According to a recent CNN analysis, since declaring its caliphate in 2014, the Islamic State has carried out 90 attacks in 21 countries outside of Iraq and Syria that have killed 1,390 people and injured more than 2,000 others. The Islamic State has a presence in more than a dozen countries and has declared “provinces” in Algeria, Libya, Egypt, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Pakistan and Afghanistan. The Post reported in 2015 that “since the withdrawal of most US and international troops in December, the Islamic State has steadily made inroads in Afghanistan” where it has “poured pepper into the wounds of their enemies … seared their hands in vats of boiling oil … blindfolded, tortured and blown apart [villagers] with explosives buried underneath them.”

And while the Islamic State spreads and grows, al-Qaeda is making a comeback. Obama is touting the killing of Taliban leader Akhtar Mohammad Mansour as “an important milestone,” but the truth is that the Taliban has made major military gains in Afghanistan — and that has opened the door to al-Qaeda. The Post reported in October that “American airstrikes targeted what was ‘probably the largest’ al-Qaeda training camp found in the 14-year Afghan war.” Sounds good except for one small problem: There were no major al-Qaeda camps in Afghanistan when Obama took office. Now it is once again training terrorists in the land where it trained operatives for the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

Al-Qaeda has also regained lost ground in Yemen, the country where it trained and deployed the underwear bomber who nearly blew up a plane bound for Detroit in 2009. And as a recent report from the Institute for the Study of War and the American Enterprise Institute’s Critical Threats Project notes, the “Syrian al Qaeda affiliate Jabhat al Nusra poses one of the most significant long-term threats of any Salafi-jihadi group” and “is much more dangerous to the US than the ISIS model in the long run.”

Overall, Gen. Jack Keane recently testified that al-Qaeda has “grown fourfold in the last five years.”

We’re lying to ourselves if we think that the violence we are witnessing is going to be confined to the Middle East … or South Asia … or North Africa … or Europe. It is only a matter of time before the Islamic State and al-Qaeda bring this violence here to our shores.

Indeed, in many ways we face a situation far more dangerous and complex than we did before Sept. 11, 2001. Before 9/11, we largely faced a danger from one terrorist network (al-Qaeda) with safe haven in one nation (Afghanistan). Today, we face danger from multiple terrorist networks with safe havens in a dozen or more countries.

Moreover, we face something we have never seen before: two terrorist networks — the Islamic State and al-Qaeda — competing with each other for the hearts of the jihadi faithful and the backing of jihadi financiers. The way to win that competition is to be the first to carry out a catastrophic attack here in the United States.

When it came to terrorist networks, the George W. Bush administration had a mantra: We’re going to fight them over there so that we do not have to face them here at home. Obama abandoned that mantra. And now the danger is getting closer to home with each passing day. (For more from the author of “OBAMA’S LEGACY: The Terrorist Cancer Is… Growing” please click HERE)

HIROSHIMA: Obama “Just Put a Knife in America and Turned It”

Just passed over the transom by Yuri, Savage lays waste to the Obama apology tour, Chapter XXXVI, this time visiting Hiroshima to honor the war dead:

Now, the Imperial Japanese Military, which he’s including with our heroes, committed thousands of war crimes in World War II, resulting in the deaths of millions of civilians and prisoners of war.

And yet your president, this anti-American walking disaster, stabbed all of our World War II dead in their graves. He spit on their graves.

So let me ask you something. How do you feel about your president spitting on U.S. military deaths in World War II?

Tell me who you lost in World War II that this ungrateful – oh, I wish this wasn’t a radio show; I wish I were just sitting in a barroom with you. I’d like to tell you what I really think of this man.

He honors all war dead in Hiroshima while the Japanese prime minster, Mr. Abi, says he has no plans to visit Pearl Harbor?

… [Obama] forgot the Rape of Nanking, the Bangka Island Massacre, where Australian Army nurses were raped and slaughtered by his friends.

He forgot the Bataan Death March conducted by the peaceful Japanese war machine.

He forgot the Sandakan Death March

He forgot murder and cannibalism on the Kokoda Track.

He forgot conscripting women for sexual slavery in Japanese Army brothels.

He forgot the mutilation and murder of Dutch civilians in Borneo.

He forgot the murder and cannibalism of captured American pilots.

He forgot the murder of American pilots and air crew at Midway.

He forgot the bombing of the hospital ship Manunda.

He forgot the sinking of the hospital ship Centaur.

He forgot the extermination of survivors of merchant ships sunk by the Japanese.

Barack Obama, your president, the most evil, anti-American enemy of these people, called Americans, told reporters in Japan his historic visit to Hiroshima will honor all those who were lost in World War II…

…It’s a new sad day, a new low.

He knows what he’s doing. He’s a smart guy.

Now, it’s true he was raised in a home that was run by a single mother, and a single mother poisoned his mind.

But I don’t excuse him. He’s the president of the United States.

He obviously was spoon-fed hatred for the United States of America by mommy. And now we have been putting up with it for over seven years.

And I told you that he would reach a new crescendo before this was over.

He loves putting the knife into America and turning it.

He loves throwing salt in our wounds.

He loves doing everything he can in the last days of his despotic regime to make everyone hate him even more.

As a brief sidenote, my Grandpa survived World War II and the Pacific Theater, but many, many, many other heroes did not.

We have a disgrace, a charlatan and a failure living on Pennsylvania Avenue and the day cannot come quick enough when we watch this man and his entire family pack up their belongings and leave the halls of power once and for all, hopefully to never be heard from again. Unlikely, I know, but — then again — I’m a dreamer. (For more from the author of “HIROSHIMA: Obama “Just Put a Knife in America and Turned It” please click HERE)
