While Ann Romney wouldn’t necessarily name her favorite candidates running for president, she did praise Donald Trump while talking to Sean Hannity last night.
“This country’s important. Where we’re going, where we’re headed right now is critical. These are critical things that we’re talking about,” Romney said.
While refusing to name her favorite candidates, she did say, “There’s a lot of good candidates, you know it’s a long race — a lot of up and downs. Important discussions happening.
“I would say that Trump is bringing more people to the table than we’d ever though,” Romney said, as Hannity interjected, “That’s a good thing — I think that’s great.” (Read more from “Mitt Romney’s Wife Is Praising Trump, Here’s Why” HERE)
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has ordered nuclear weapons to be readied for use, the state-controlled Korean Central News Agency reported Thursday.
The shift in military posture would allow North Korea to carry out pre-emptive attacks, and deprive “the enemies to sleep in peace till the moment they meet their final end in their land,” KCNA reported, citing a speech by the country’s leader, Kim Jong-un.
KCNA continued: “The only way for defending the sovereignty of our nation and its right to existence under the present extreme situation is to bolster up nuclear force both in quality and quantity and keep balance of forces,” he said, stressing the need to “get the nuclear warheads deployed for national defense always on standby so as to be fired any moment.”
The move follows the U.N. Security Council’s unanimous approval Wednesday of tough new sanctions against North Korea in response to its recent nuclear and long-range missile tests. The resolution contains the toughest set of sanctions imposed by the Security Council in more than two decades, Secretary of State John Kerry said.
The sanctions require North Korean cargo ships and aircraft to be inspected before entering and after leaving the reclusive country. They would also prohibit small arms and other conventional weapons sales to North Korea. (Read more from “North Korean Leader Wants Nukes Ready to Fly” HERE)
Milwaukee County Sheriff David A. Clarke Jr. said he believes President Barack Obama has damaged race relations in the United States and that he looks forward to when “we can finally turn the page on the Obama reign of terror” and heal some of the divisions Obama has created during his presidency.
“It’s been a very destructive period of time for the country as a whole and I’ll be glad when we can finally turn the page on the Obama reign of terror, as I call it, and we can go back to start healing some of this divide between the classes, between the races, between the sexes and some of these other demographics,” Clarke told CNSNews.com on Thursday at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) at National Harbor, Maryland.
CNSNews.com asked Clarke about the notion that as the first African American president, Obama would improve race relations in the United States, whether that had happened, and what the next president could do to bring Americans together.
“He never had any intention of bringing people together,” Clarke said. “He had the opportunity to do that.”
“I think a lot of people, including me, were hopeful that he would take the gains that we’ve made – because race relations will never be perfect, alright?” Clarke said. “But we’ve made great strides in bridging that divide, in bridging that gap and he came along and deconstructed the bridge that existed there because that’s part of his shtick , all right, to strike up animosity, you know.” (Read more from “Sheriff Clarke: Obama’s ‘Reign of Terror’ Has Divided the American People” HERE)

One of the 3,348 women who are part of The Justice Foundation’s amicus curiae brief filed with the U.S. Supreme Court in the Whole Women’s Health v. Hellerstedt case compared the harm abortion causes to the trauma following the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, which killed almost 3,000 people.
“Nothing wounds you like being responsible for the death of your child,” Myra Jean Myers said at a press conference on Tuesday at the Family Research Council in Washington, D.C. “Do you realize today and every day is the daily equivalent of 9/11, when across America women and men are deceived and wounded?”
According to the Guttmacher Institute, there were 1.06 million abortions performed in the United States in 2011, which averages to 2,904 abortions every day.
The press conference at the Family Research Council was held in advance of the oral arguments in Whole Women’s Health v. Hellerstedt at the Supreme Court.
Myers recalled at the event that she was married with children in 1973, the year the high court legalized abortion across the United States in the Roe v. Wade case. When she became pregnant, her husband convinced her that she should have an abortion, which she did. (Read more from “Woman Reveals the Terrifying Truth About Abortion to Supreme Court” HERE)

Twelve people were arrested Thursday in connection with a 2014 armed protest on the Bundy Ranch in Nevada — including two more of rancher Cliven Bundy’s sons and a New Hampshire man linked to Donald Trump’s campaign.
The arrests marked the first law-enforcement sweep since Bundy, two other sons and two other men were charged last month in the armed confrontation with federal agents. The five previously charges were already in custody when they were indicted.
In a dramatic showdown, federal agents who seized Bundy’s cattle over unpaid grazing fees backed off after being confronted with armed protesters and snipers on Aug. 12, 2014.
“This investigation began the day after the assault against federal law enforcement officers and continues to this day,” U.S. Attorney for the District of Nevada Daniel Bogden said in a statement. “We will continue to work to identify the assaulters and their role in the assault and the aftermath, in order to ensure that justice is served.” (Read more from “More Bundy Sons, Trump Campaigner Charged in Nevada Ranch Standoff” HERE)
A recent scientific paper on the movement of the human hand has faced strong criticism for referring to a ‘Creator’ throughout.
The paper, titled: ‘Biomechanical characteristics of hand coordination in grasping activities of daily living’ was written by a team of four researchers, three from Huazhong University in China, and one from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts.
Published in the PLOS ONE journal, the fairly conventional study looked at the mechanics of how we grasp things, and involved the measurement of the hand movements of 30 participants.
However, members of the scientific community have demanded the paper be retracted, for its several perceived references to the pseudoscientific theory of intelligent design and a possibly divine ‘Creator’.
In the opening sentences of the study, it claims the link between muscles and hand movements is the product of “proper design by the Creator.” (Read more from “Scientific Paper Says the Human Hand Was Designed by a Creator” HERE)

(For story about Romney, see below) By Jack Davis. Republican presidential Ben Carson responded on Wednesday to a dismal showing on Super Tuesday with an announcement that he will not attend Thursday’s Republican presidential debate in Detroit.
In the statement posted on his Facebook page, Carson said, “I do not see a political path forward” for his campaign. Carson said he will address his political future during a speech on Friday at CPAC in the Washington area.
“Even though I will not be in my hometown of Detroit on Thursday, I remain deeply committed to my home nation, America,” Carson said on Facebook, noting the Super Tuesday results.
“However, this grassroots movement on behalf of ‘We the People’ will continue. Along with millions of patriots who have supported my campaign for President, I remain committed to Saving America for Future Generations. We must not depart from our goals to restore what God and our Founders intended for this exceptional nation,” he posted.
“I appreciate the support, financial and otherwise, from all corners of America. Gratefully, my campaign decisions are not constrained by finances; rather by what is in the best interests of the American people,” he posted.
Carson’s supporters left messages of gratitude for his efforts. (Read more from “Presidential Candidate Stuns by Effectively Dropping out of the Race” HERE)

Mitt Romney to Deliver Speech on the Presidential Race
By Leigh Ann Caldwell. Mitt Romney, the Republican Party’s presidential nominee in 2012, will deliver an address Thursday on “the state of the 2016 presidential race.”
In a news release sent to press, no further details on what he will say were provided. But aides to the former Massachusetts governor say they expect him to speak out against Donald Trump, and praise Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz and John Kasich. Romney’s comments will be focused on “the state of the race,” likely echoing past criticism of Trump for failing to release his tax returns, and not decisively distancing himself from the Klu Klux Klan.
Romney has been inserting himself into presidential politics recently. He has taken to Twitter to challenge Trump to release his taxes, saying that the returns will contain “a bombshell.”
Close @MittRomney aide says he won't endorse or get in, but tomorrow's speech "will be worth covering"

Hillary Clinton’s email server technician is finally talking.
The Washington Post is reporting that the Department of Justice granted immunity to Bryan Pagliano in exchange for his cooperation with the FBI’s investigation into whether classified information was mishandled on Clinton’s private email server.
As one Justice Department put it to The Post: “There was wrongdoing. But was it criminal wrongdoing?”
Pagliano may hold the key to that question. The IT director on Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign, Pagliano was hired as deputy chief information officer at the State Department in May 2009. Part of his job there was to manage Clinton’s server, which hosted her personal email address and was kept at her home in New York . . .
The New York Times reported Wednesday that FBI investigators have already interviewed Pagliano, who in December was reported to be the focus of the agency’s probe. The paper also reported that Clinton herself could be interviewed within weeks and that the investigation could be wrapped up by May. Sean Hannity repeatedly ripped into Marco Rubio on his Fox News program Wednesday night, attacking the Florida senator for recent attacks on Donald Trump and saying his rhetoric was “beyond the pale” of acceptance in a presidential primary.
Hannity, who wrote in August that he would not point out “deficiencies” in any of the Republican candidates, said that someone “probably promised” Rubio “a lot of money” to take Trump on.
“That’s not the real Marco,” he repeatedly insisted.
Hannity’s chief contention was that Rubio’s criticism of Trump over his Ku Klux Klan flap was not fair and that his jokes about the billionaire had gone too far.
Throughout his program, Hannity hosted a panel of guests who shared his point of view. The general theme: attack Rubio, defend Trump.
Moments later on Rubio: “What I’m watching here is the kitchen sink, scorched Earth, MMA bare-knuckle brawl, thermo-nuclear attacks."

After Donald Trump’s strong showing in the Super Tuesday primaries, he issued a threat to Speaker of the House Paul Ryan.
Speaker Ryan previously denounced Trump’s call to ban all Muslims from entering the United States. Without naming him directly, Ryan also took aim at Trump’s refusal to denounce the Ku Klux Klan after former KKK leader David Duke encouraged his followers to vote for Trump.
Speaker Ryan is usually known for remaining mum about ongoing political issues during the primary season. Ryan’s usual silence stems from the active role he will play in the Republican Convention in July.
“I try to stay out of the ups and downs of the primary, but I’ve also said when I see something that runs counter to who we are as a party and a country, I will speak up,” Ryan said. “If a person wants to be the nominee of the party, there can be no evasion and no games. They must reject any group or cause that is built on bigotry” . . .
Following Speaker Ryan’s remarks Trump issued his threat.
“I’m going to get along great with Congress,” Trump said. “Paul Ryan, I don’t know him well, but I’m sure I’m going to get along great with him, and if I don’t, he’s going to have to pay a big price.” (Read more from “Trump Just Hit Paul Ryan With a Threat That Will Have the Establishment Worried” HERE)
