Terminal 5 was beset with hundreds of would-be vampires Friday night for a classic Blood Rave—inspired by Wesley Snipes’ 1998 film Blade.
Put on by BBQ Films and tied to the weekend-long ruckus that is NYC Comic Con, the Blood Rave featured a live action performance of scenes from the film, with ticket-buyers encouraged to dress the part of hemoglobin-craving vampires. Also adding to the ambiance was electronic music legends The Crystal Method, who headlined the evening.
But the star attractions were Blade… and all the (fake) blood. Just before midnight, a squadron of technicians suited up with body-mounted sprayers surrounded the crowd and, on cue, soaked the writhing masses with synthetic blood. No leather corset or bare tattooed back was spared as the ravers seethed with fanged glee beneath the crimson rain. For a few hours, it was truly weird and wonderful to see a sea of giddy daywalkers living out fantasy bloodlust.
When asked what it was he loved about Blade so much, one happy raver screamed “He fears nothing!” Numerous faux-gore-soaked attendees told Gothamist that they had seen the film and its sequels over a hundred times. (Read more from “Freaky: Aspiring Vampires Enjoy a Blade-Themed ‘Blood Rave'” HERE)
By Express. The shocking order has been given as it emerges British ministers have warned Russia is making the situation in the Middle East “much more dangerous”.
RAF jets will be armed with advanced short range air-to-air missiles and British and Nato pilots have been told to fight for their lives if they are fired upon by Vladimir Putin’s air force.
Senior defence sources said British fighters are likely to be involved in a deadly air battle with Russian aircraft sooner rather than later.
Speaking to the Daily Star Sunday, a source said: “We need to protect our pilots but at the same time we’re taking a step closer to war. It will only take one plane to be shot down in an air-to-air battle and the whole landscape will change.”
The RAF Tornados will each carry up to four supersonic weapons that cost £200,000 each and are capable of blasting any aircraft out of the sky. (Read more from “‘One Step Closer to War’ – RAF Given All Clear to SHOOT Down Russian Aircraft” HERE)

RAF Given Green Light to Shoot Down Hostile Russian Jets in Syria
By Romil Patel. As relations between the West and Russia steadily deteriorate, Royal Air Force (RAF) pilots have been given the go-ahead to shoot down Russian military jets when flying missions over Syria and Iraq, if they are endangered by them. The development comes with warnings that the UK and Russia are now “one step closer” to being at war.
RAF Tornado pilots have been instructed to avoid contact with Russian aircraft while engaged in missions for Operation Shader – the codename for the RAF’s anti-Isis work in Iraq and Syria. But their aircraft have been armed with air-to-air missiles and the pilots have been given the green light to defend themselves if they are threatened by Russian pilots.
“The first thing a British pilot will do is to try to avoid a situation where an air-to-air attack is likely to occur — you avoid an area if there is Russian activity,” an unidentified source from the UK’s Permanent Joint Headquarters (PJHQ) told the Sunday Times. “But if a pilot is fired on or believes he is about to be fired on, he can defend himself. We now have a situation where a single pilot, irrespective of nationality, can have a strategic impact on future events.”
The RAF Tornados aircraft will be armed with heat-seeking Advanced Short Range Air-to-Air Missiles (Asraams, also called AIM-132 missiles). These weapons, which cost £200,000 each, can reach triple the speed of sound and have a longer range than other air-to-air missiles, allowing RAF pilots to shoot down enemy aircraft without being targeted themselves.
The Sunday Times’ report quoted a defence source as saying: “Up till now RAF Tornados have been equipped with 500lb satellite-guided bombs — there has been no or little air-to-air threat. But in the last week the situation has changed. We need to respond accordingly.” (Read more from this story HERE)

President Obama insisted that he could run and win a third term as president if he wanted to, but assured Americans that he would follow the lead of previous presidents before him.
When asked directly by Steve Kroft in a 60 Minutes interview if he could win a third term as president he replied without hesitation, “Yes. I do” . . .
But he compared his own struggle with that of the nation’s first president, George Washington, to explain why he would step down.
“I think having a fresh set of legs in this seat, I think having a fresh perspective, new personnel and new ideas and a new conversation with the American people about issues that may be different a year from now than they were when I started eight years ago, I think that’s all good for our democracy,” he concluded. Israel’s relationship with surrounding nations could change significantly because of a recent discovery in their nation.
Massive oil reserves have been found near their Syrian border.
“There is enormous excitement,” Yuval Bartov, chief geologist for Afek Oil and Gas, an Israeli subsidiary of Genie Energy, an American company, said Tuesday. “It’s a fantastic feeling. We came here thinking maybe yes or maybe no, and now things are really happening.”
The potential of the discovery is vast, Bartov said. The field could meet Israel’s domestic oil consumption needs for many years, eliminating any need to import oil from Arab neighbors. Israel uses about 270,000 barrels of oil per day.
“We are talking about a strata which is 350 meters thick and what is important is the thickness and the porosity,” Bartov said. “On average in the world, strata are 20-30 meters thick, so this is ten times as large as that, so we are talking about significant quantities. The important thing is to know the oil is in the rock and that’s what we now know” . . .
The reserves were found in the Golan Heights, captured from Syria during the 1967 Six Day War and formally annexed by Israel in 1981. The region already contains vital underground water sources that provide Israel’s chief source of fresh water. Several Republicans who aren’t as closely associated with outgoing House Speaker Rep. John Boehner as House Ways and Means Committee chairman Rep. Paul Ryan are considering running for Speaker as Ryan’s nascent campaign is crumbling before it even begins.
The two who have, at this time, the most likely ability to unite the GOP conference and achieve well more than the necessary 218 votes on the House floor are House Energy and Commerce Committee vice chairwoman Rep. Marsha Blackburn and former House Chief Deputy Whip Rep. Peter Roskam. Other Republicans like Reps. Rep. Matt Salmon, Rep. Ryan Zinke, Rep. Lynn Westmoreland, and even current non-House member former Speaker Newt Gingrich are considering bids. More names than those have been tossed out, too.
“Marsha has heard from a lot of people who are encouraging her to run,” Blackburn spokesman Mike Reynard told Breitbart News on Friday. “Right now she is listening and having conversations with her colleagues about what is the best way to unite our conference moving forward.”
Blackburn, who would if elected be the first female GOP Speaker of the House ever, will be joining Breitbart News Sunday on SiriusXM Patriot Ch. 125 on Sunday evening to discuss this topic in greater depth.
A House GOP aide also confirmed to Breitbart News that Roskam is considering a bid for the Speakership. A former member of leadership, he lost the bid for House Majority Whip to current Whip Rep. Steve Scalise after former House Majority Leader Eric Cantor was driven out of Congress. Roskam was supported in that bid by conservatives like Rep. Steve King, the chairman of the Conservative Opportunity Society, because he was pledging not to back any amnesty bill while Scalise wouldn’t make such a pledge. Roskam also has something unique to his résumé: He is the only current GOP member of Congress to have served in the Illinois state Senate opposite Barack Obama, which would allow him to detail how he’s fought Obama and won before and how he plans to do it again in the House leadership. A Gresham, Oregon school – Dexter McCarty Middle School – sent home an 8th grader because he was wearing a t-shirt that featured the “Battlefield Cross” memorial used for fallen military members. That actual reason was that the t-shirt had a gun on it . . .
The principle had given Alan an ultimatum- change his clothes or leave school. He refused to change his clothes, so they called his father and he left the school.
The school stated that it was “inappropriate” to have a t-shirt with a gun on it in a “school setting.” Their decision came a few days after a major shooting at an Oregon Community College. But was it based on irrational fear of guns, or something else?
Alan Holmes’ brother is in the U.S. Marine Corps. Wearing the shirt was a source of patriotic pride for the 8th grader. He plans to do some research into the memorial used by our troops to remember fallen military members.
Alan Holmes is not the only one – schools across the nation have been ratcheting down on kids and college students for wearing any sort of t-shirt with a patriotic theme, whether it’s for supporting our troops or an American flag. For the first time since Hillary Clinton announced her candidacy for president, Bill Clinton’s notorious mistress for 12 years, Gennifer Flowers, is now speaking out, calling Hillary’s bid to run in part on women’s issues “a joke.”
In the wide-ranging interview on the popular Sunday night program “Aaron Klein Investigative Radio,” Flowers further accused Hillary of being “an enabler that has encouraged him (Bill) to go out and do whatever he does with women.”
“She always got things on the back of her husband. … I think it’s a joke that she would run on women’s issues” . . .
Flowers used the interview to drop a few new bombshells, including revealing for the first time she has something incriminating on Bill Clinton locked in a safety deposit box; mysterious contents she said the Clintons know she possesses and that she has used to ensure her “safety.”
Flowers said she believes the issue of Bill Clinton’s former lovers is a legitimate discussion that should return for Hillary’s 2016 campaign. (Read more from “Hillary Nightmare: Gennifer’s Back!” HERE)
Iran announced Sunday it had successfully tested a new domestically produced long-range missile, which it said was the first that could be guided all the way to targets.
The defense ministry posted pictures of the launch of the missile, named Imad, on its website but no details were given about its maximum range or other capabilities.
“This is Iran’s first long-range missile that can be guided and controlled until hitting the target,” Defense Minister Hossein Dehghan was quoted as saying.
The launch comes months after some Iranian officials voiced concern that the Islamic republic’s recent nuclear deal with world powers could place limits on its missile program.
Dehghan said mass production of missile would be followed by supplies of the weapon to the Iranian military, the semi-official Press TV reported. (Read more from “Iran Tests New Long-Range Missile” HERE)
An old federal policy could cause more than 10 million Americans to get a higher Medicare bill next year.
A small provision in Medicare’s policy will lead to 15 million Americans facing more than 50 percent increases in their monthly premiums next year. A new bipartisan bill in the Senate would fix the problem, but its passage and how it would be funded is in the dark.
The federal government will release 2016 premiums for Medicare Part B in the next few weeks, but an increase appears to be imminent.
That’s because another entitlement program, Social Security, won’t dole out a cost-of-living-adjustment for recipients next year. It is the third time in the past 40 years that seniors won’t get an adjustment, according to an August report from the Center for Retirement Research at Boston University . . .
The decision has a huge impact on Medicare. Federal law includes a “hold-harmless” provision that limits a Medicare premium increase to the increase in an individual’s Social Security benefit, the report said. That means that if Social Security benefits are not raised, neither are Medicare premiums. (Read more from “Medicare Premiums to Increase for 15 Million” HERE)

Many conservatives across the land have rejoiced over the withdrawal of Kevin McCarthy from the Speaker election. They shouldn’t. House Republicans are largely a collection of phonies.
In my view, there are only two who have earned the Speakership: Louie Gohmert and Steve King. I am confident that few conservatives would disagree that these two Representatives have demonstrated honesty, courage and outspoken defense of true conservative principles. Each towers far above the rest of the field. The election of anyone else as Speaker would be a travesty, indicating Republican business as usual.
I will not rehash what I wrote in detail in August: The Deceptive Misuse of Legislator Voting Records. But, faced with this golden opportunity, it is critically important for genuine conservatives to understand that few House Republicans have anything but contempt for them.
I pointed out that, during the Boehner reign, there were but a few roll call votes that vastly exceeded the importance of all the rest. Let’s not forget that, last December, after a major Republican victory, Speaker Boehner rammed through a bill called Cromnibus. This bill effectively nullified the 2014 Republican electoral victory, saved the ObamaCare monstrosity (for a second time under Boehner!), and enabled President Obama to continue to dictatorially further law breaking by aliens. As Sen. Ted Cruz put it in a magnificently courageous speech: “anyone watching Congress right now would have little reason to think that an historic election occurred only a few weeks ago.”
Either of the two current Speaker candidates, Jason Chaffetz or Daniel Webster, could have stopped Cromnibus dead in its tracks by blocking its even being considered by the House. But both voted to allow consideration. Chaffetz even voted for final passage. In fact, 67 Republicans voted against final passage of Cromnibus, but only 16 voted to stop it from being considered at all. In other words, 51 Republicans boasted of voting against passage of a bill they could have defeated by preventing it from even being voted upon.
Among the heroic 16 were Gohmert and King. (Since January 2011, King heroically has fought a courageous battle to prevent implementation of Obama Care.) Given their long history of principled courage placing them so far above everyone else in the House, if either of them is not elected Speaker, conservatives will see more of the same and they will have no cause to rejoice.
And it would be a time for tears if House Republicans elected a faux conservative, such as Trey Gowdy, again inexplicably being touted. As this is written, many reports echo this: Republicans are putting all of their money on Paul Ryan. This is what David Horowitz had to say about Ryan: “Paul Ryan is a nice man and is a very bright man but he hasn’t got a political brain cell.”
In sum, conservative joy is premature and tears may be warranted in the end. If conservatives really are serious, they should press either Louie Gohmert or Rep. Steve King to run for Speaker and then make clear that, if one of them is not chosen, the Republican Party has no claim on conservative support.
