Mosquitoes Inject Human Test Subjects With Parasite in Study at Bill Gates-Linked Centerv

Researchers at the Bill Gates Foundation-backed Leiden University Medical Center in the Netherlands have joined an international effort to transform mosquitoes into flying syringes. According to a study published late last month in the New England Journal of Medicine, they apparently now have an effective way of using mosquitoes to deliver some protection against malaria in unsuspecting humans — and possibly other payloads in the future as well.

Scientists have long toyed with the idea of transforming mosquitoes into “flying vaccinator[s].”

Shigeto Yoshida, the lead researcher on a 2010 study that modified mosquitoes’ saliva such that they would deliver leishmania vaccines to mice when sucking their blood, noted that vaccination by insect was “just like a conventional vaccination but with no pain and no cost.”

“What’s more, continuous exposure to bites will maintain high levels of protective immunity, through natural boosting, for a lifetime. So the insect shifts from being a pest to being beneficial,” added Yoshida.

U.S. Attorney Behind January 6 Prosecutions Stepping Down Before Trump’s Inauguration

The U.S. attorney behind prosecutions in cases related to the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021, announced on Monday that he will step down before President-elect Donald Trump’s return to the White House.

Matthew Graves, a longtime federal prosecutor who has held the role of U.S. attorney in the nation’s capital for a little more than three years, said he will resign effective January 16, four days before Inauguration Day. The principal assistant U.S. attorney in D.C., Bridget Fitzpatrick, is slated to become acting U.S. attorney after Graves departs.

“Serving as the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia has been the honor of a lifetime,” Graves said in a statement. “I am deeply thankful to Congresswoman Holmes Norton for recommending me; to President Biden for nominating me; and to Attorney General Garland for placing his trust in me.”

Graves dealt with all sorts of issues during his stint as a U.S. attorney, ranging from those focused on national security matters to cryptocurrency. However, it was his record with January 6 cases that became a political lightning rod: the Department of Justice says nearly 1,600 defendants have been charged, many of whom pleaded guilty or were found guilty, and several hundred of them were sentenced to prison.

Some have been heavily critical of Graves, including Rep. Male, 36, Allegedly Grabs 3-Year-Old Boy by the Arm in Broad-Daylight Kidnapping Attempt — But Family Dog Isn’t Having It

A 36-year-old male allegedly grabbed a 3-year-old boy by the arm in a broad-daylight kidnapping attempt in Florida over the weekend — but a dog put a stop to it.

Ron Lee Klein Jr. entered a family’s fenced-in back yard through a gate at the back of their home around noon Saturday, WFLA-TV reported, citing a St. Petersburg Police Department affidavit.

When Klein allegedly grabbed the 3-year-old by the arm and tried to pick him up, a barking dog confronted Klein, the station said, citing the affidavit.

The barking alerted someone near the child, who began running after Klein and yelling at him, WFLA reported, citing the affidavit.

Klein let go of the toddler and fled the area, the station said, citing investigators — and St. Petersburg police in the area located and arrested Klein. Leftist Group That Drew up Blueprints for ‘Get Trump’ Prosecutions Was on Retainer to ‘Advise’ Arizona AG

Democrat Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes retained a leftist lawfare group last year for “election integrity,” just months before it briefed her office on prosecuting supporters of former President Donald Trump’s 2020 campaign.

“Our work will be provided pro bono. … We are pleased to have this opportunity to be of service and to work with you,” reads a May 4, 2023, letter from Christine Sun, senior vice president for the States United Democracy Center, to Chief Deputy Attorney General Dan Barr.

Barr signed the agreement with States United on May 15, 2023, according to the document. Jeff Clark, senior fellow at the Center for Renewing America, first published the contract on Dec. 22 on X.

The document explained “terms and conditions” under which States United would “advise the Arizona Attorney General’s Office … in connection with developing legal strategies to ensure the integrity and security of elections.”

New Poll Shows How Americans Feel About Trump’s Plan to Put Illegal Aliens in Militarized Camps

President-elect Donald Trump’s immigration promises are popular among a wide swath of Republican voters, according to a new survey released earlier this month.

Public Religion Research Institute (PRRI) published the findings of a survey that analyzed, among other things, how voters feel about the idea of placing illegal immigrants into militarized encampments as they await deportation.

The PRRI survey found that about 46 percent of Republican voters support such a policy. About 19 percent of Independents and eight percent of Democrats agree. Overall, about a quarter (26 percent) of Americans support this approach.

On the campaign trail, Trump repeatedly promised to use the U.S., military to round up illegal immigrants and put them in detention camps using the Alien Enemies Act. His pledge came as the nation is facing a continual crisis at the southern border with hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants and asylum seekers trying to enter the country.

These numbers represent a significant drop from when PRRI conducted a similar survey in May 2024. Back then, about 47 percent of all Americans supported militarized camps for illegal immigrants, including 79 percent of Republicans and 47 percent of Independents. Taking Trump’s remarks out of context is one of legacy media’s favorite pastimes — and March’s “bloodbath” nontroversy was no exception.

Speaking to rallygoers in Ohio, the former and soon-to-be president warned that the U.S. automobile industry would face an economic “bloodbath” if Democrats won the White House in 2024. Media acolytes quickly jumped on the former president’s comments, which they distorted to make it appear as if Trump was threatening a literal bloodbath if he lost his reelection bid.

Report: Trump Team Orders Cabinet Nominees to Cease Social Media Posts Ahead of Confirmation Hearings

President-elect Donald Trump’s team is ordering cabinet nominees to cease all social media posts ahead of their confirmation hearings, according to reports.

The New York Post first reported this directive, noting that Susie Wiles, Trump’s former campaign manager and incoming chief of staff, sent out the order on Sunday. In the memo, she also noted that none of the nominees speak for Trump.

“While this instruction has been delivered previously, I am reiterating that no member of the incoming administration or Transition speaks for the United States or the President-elect himself,” Wiles wrote, urging nominees to “refrain from any public social media posts without prior approval of the incoming White House counsel.”

The Post confirmed that nominees seem to have been adhering to the ask, which was delivered December 29:

Those who could face tough questioning — such as former Democrats like Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard, tapped to lead the Department of Health and Human Services and the Office of National Intelligence, respectively — have also quieted down since Christmas.

The Growing List of Lawmakers Ditching the Democratic Party

The Democratic Party is hemorrhaging not just voters, but lawmakers too.

Most recently, Florida state Rep. Hillary Cassel announced Friday that she would be switching her party affiliation from Democrat to Republican because she believes in “their vision for a better, more prosperous Florida.”

“As a mother, I want to help build a world where our children are judged on their character and their actions, not on their labels,” Cassel said. “As a proud Jewish woman, I have been increasingly troubled by the Democratic Party’s failure to unequivocally support Israel and its willingness to tolerate extreme progressive voices that justify or condone acts of terrorism.

“I’m constantly troubled by the inability of the current Democratic Party to relate to everyday Floridians,” Cassel continued. “I can no longer remain in a party that doesn’t represent my values.” . . .

Trump States Where He Stands on H-1B Visas

President-elect Donald Trump has announced his position on the H-1B visa, which imports hundreds of thousands of foreign workers, mainly from India, to work specialty occupations. His statements starkly contrast his first term, where he emphasized the need to prioritize American workers and “America First” policies. His first administration implemented several measures, including stricter eligibility criteria, increased scrutiny of applications, and reduced visa approvals, to ensure that American workers were not displaced or underpaid.

Trump said he has many H-1B visas employed on his properties and believes in the “great” program.

“I’ve always liked the visas, I have always been in favor of the visas,” Trump told the New York Post. “That’s why we have them.”

CBS News Journalist Says Most Underreported 2024 Story Was Biden’s ‘Obvious Cognitive Decline’

Veteran CBS News reporter Jan Crawford dinged news organizations for not thoroughly covering President Biden’s “obvious cognitive decline” this year until it became unavoidable during his disastrous debate against Donald Trump over the summer.

Crawford, the network’s chief legal correspondent, insisted stronger reporting on the topic could have changed the entire election as she responded to a question from “Face the Nation” moderator Major Garrett about the most underreported story in 2024.

“Undercovered and underreported, that would be, to me, Joe Biden’s obvious cognitive decline that became undeniable in the televised debate,” she said on the Sunday morning show.

She then noted recent reporting by the Wall Street Journal that detailed how White House aides covered up Biden’s mental decline over the past four years.
