Trey Gowdy Is Leading A Charge Against The Obama Admin That May Make Him Enemy #1 In The White House

Photo Credit: Site.govSouth Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy proved this week that he is focused on much more than just his role at the helm of a special committee investigating the 2012 Benghazi attack. Although he announced recently that the first public hearings in that probe are slated for next week, the former prosecutor’s stance on a Libyan threat closer to home has resulted in legislation introduced this week.

According to the Washington Times, Gowdy and other Republican leaders have responded to the Obama administration’s decision to lower restrictions against Libyans training to become pilots and nuclear scientists at schools in the U.S.

The proposal, also backed by Reps. Jason Chaffetz and Robert Goodlatte, seek to counter Obama’s endorsement of opinions by some in the intelligence community that current restrictions against Libya should be scaled back.

Report: DA Union Member's Wife Drove Witch Hunt Against Scott Walker, Conservative Groups

Photo Credit: APBack in 2009 the Milwaukee District Attorney launched a far-reaching and secret investigation into a then soon-to-be elected Governor Scott Walker, his staff, and several Wisconsin conservative groups. The governor and his allies always maintained that the investigation was little else but a political jihad against them. Now a former Wisconsin prosecutor is saying that the union-allied wife of the District Attorney was really the main reason for the long, convoluted, and shady investigation.

The case was never successfully defended as a legitimate probe into corruption, having always looked more like a political witch hunt. And now, a new report at Legal Newsline may have revealed why: The Milwaukee DA’s wife, a union operative infuriated by Walker’s policies, was behind the whole thing.

A former Wisconsin prosecutor has come forward to charge that Milwaukee DA John Chisholm was goaded by his union-member wife to keep the pressure on Walker as he carried out his campaign promises to cure the budget problems that he faced when he was elected Governor.

The prosecutor, who wishes to stay anonymous to protect himself from retaliation, says that the partisan animus he saw in the Milwaukee DA was shocking. “I admired him [Chisholm] greatly up until this whole thing started,” he said. “But once this whole matter came up, it was surprising how almost hyper-partisan he became… It was amazing… to see this complete change.”

The former official also noted that after Walker’s election, the DA’s office became extremely partisan against him—with many of the employees siding with unions, even to the extent of attending anti-Walker rallies sponsored by unions.

Russian Strategic Bombers Near Canada Practice Cruise Missile Strikes on US

Photo Credit: APTwo Russian strategic bombers conducted practice cruise missile attacks on the United States during a training mission last week that defense officials say appeared timed to the NATO summit in Wales.

The Russian Tu-95 Bear bombers were tracked flying a route across the northern Atlantic near Iceland, Greenland, and Canada’s northeast.

Analysis of the flight indicated the aircraft were conducting practice runs to a pre-determined “launch box”—an optimum point for firing nuclear-armed cruise missiles at U.S. targets, said defense officials familiar with intelligence reports.

Disclosure of the nuclear bombing practice comes as a Russian general last week called for Moscow to change its doctrine to include preemptive nuclear strikes on the United States and NATO.

Gen. Yuri Yakubov, a senior Defense Ministry official, was quoted by the state-run Interfax news agency as saying that Russia’s 2010 military doctrine should be revised to identify the United States and the NATO alliance as enemies, and clearly outline the conditions for a preemptive nuclear strike against them.

Truett Cathy Flavored Chick-fil-A with Faith

Photo Credit: AP / Gerald HerbertMr. Truett Cathy [the founder of Chick-fil-A] died Monday. He was 93.

The nation will remember him as the man who founded Chick-fil-A. But beyond the waffle fries and grammatically-challenged bovines, Mr. Cathy was a man who had a deep and abiding faith in our Lord.

He was a devout Southern Baptist. He taught Sunday school to 13-year-old boys for more than 50 years.

Mr. Cathy’s faith flavored Chick-fil-A – far beyond the company’s long-held “Closed-on-Sunday” policy. He launched foster homes and summer camps and scholarships for young people. And when employees needed a helping hand — Mr. Cathy was there.

Since 1973, Chick-fil-A has given more than $32 million in financial assistance to workers.

Refugees in U.S. State Drawn to Welfare, Jihad

Photo Credit: WNDOver the course of two decades, the federal government’s Refugee Resettlement Program has forcibly infused the Minneapolis-St. Paul area of Minnesota with a large dose of Somali culture, and the transition has not always been smooth.

Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., told WND that while many of the Somali transplants have been hard-working citizens, the experiment has been costly for her state. And too many Somalis remain dependent on public assistance.

“We have the largest population of Somalis in the United States, and Somalia is a failed state. It is based on piracy for ransom and fraud,” Bachmann said.

She said the war-torn east African country is in a state of desperation, with an economy that more closely resembles the stone-age than the information age.

“And so tens of thousands of Somalis have been lifted out of a completely different situation and dropped into Minnesota,” Bachmann said. “They have been brought here in many cases by Catholic Charities and Lutheran Social Services and made homes here, but the problems of radicalization have come to Minnesota as well.”

Wendy Davis Reveals She Had Two Abortions, MSNBC Says it Will “Resonate” With Women Voters

It seems as though MSNBC is still trying to find a weekend use for Karen Finney after canceling her show. Finney, former DNC Communications Director and board member of NARAL, appeared on Up w/ Steve Kornacki on Saturday, September 7, to comment on news that Texas gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis had an abortion 18 years ago.

The former MSNBC host insisted that Davis’ abortion story could be a political weapon for the candidate who is struggling to keep up with her Republican opponent. Finney proclaimed that “from a political standpoint, it is something that I think will resonate with moderate women.”

After host Steve Kornacki remarked that “Wendy Davis reveals in that memoir that she terminated a pregnancy 18 years ago for medical reasons” Karen Finney seemed confused over what to call Davis’ baby and awkwardly claimed that “they had named the child, right and she thanks the child in the, you could say fetus or child.”

The former MSNBC host went on to argue that Davis’ abortion could be a strong political tool as she attempts to rebuild her campaign:

I think that’s probably helpful for women who find themselves in the same situation and the women’s vote in Texas is very important. But also from a political standpoint, I think it’s wise, because she’s now defined the nature of the story. And I think it makes it that much harder for Greg Abbott or anyone else to try to cast her as some sort of evil person for having done this.

By Ericka Andersen.

Cosmopolitan magazine is getting serious this year. For the first time ever, the racy women’s reader will be endorsing candidates for office in their #CosmoVotes campaign.

As a dedicated subscriber of women’s magazines from Marie Claire to Women’s Health, I’m well aware of how they cover politics – usually focusing on one primary issue: abortion.

Will Cosmo buck the trend and cover issues fairly with opinions from both sides of the aisle? No, ma’am. They’ll be thumbing their noses at anyone who dares oppose the one issue they define all women by.

In an interview with Politico, Cosmo online editor Amy Odell said, “We’re not going to endorse someone who is pro-life because that’s not in our readers’ best interest.”

It’s ironic that a women’s magazine downsizes the female sex into a monolithic group that votes and thinks the same way on an issue as controversial as this. In reality, the country — including women — is split down the middle.

Nigel Farage: GOP Establishment Candidate Can't Beat a Democrat for President

Photo Credit: Reuters On Sunday night, Nigel Farage, the Chairman of the United Kingdom Independent Party (UKIP), said that the next time Republicans prop up a “continuity, establishment candidate” for President of the United Sates, they are not going to win.

Appearing on Breitbart News Sunday, airing at 7-10 pm ET on Sirius XM Patriot Radio and speaking with Breitbart Executive Chairman Stephen K. Bannon, Farage said that unless you can “energize and engage, to use an old fashioned term, the blue collar voter, you are not going to beat the Democrats.”

Farage believes that the conservatives in America and the conservatives in the UK are fighting the same battles: runaway government expansion, exploding social welfare programs, and the immigration issues.
