Mark Wahlberg Blasts Actors who Compare their Job To Serving in the Military

Photo Credit: Breitbart According to Entertainment Weekly, Wahlberg held nothing back during a question and answer session with other actors at the film’s Nov. 12 premiere. He said his movie The Fighter required “four and a half years” of training, and “it really means nothing” compared to what Navy SEALS endure.

To actors who like to think they suffer as the military does, Wahlberg said:

For actors who sit there and talk about, “Oh, I went to SEAL training”? I don’t give a f-ck what you did. You don’t know what these guys did. For somebody go sit there and say my job was as difficult as being in the military? How f-cking dare you, while you sit in a makeup chair for two hours.

Will the Supreme Court Rule That Treaties Override the Constitution?

For if our elected officials can force the public to purchase government-approved health insurance, what can they NOT demand the American people acquire?! The full effects of the unconscionable betrayal of the Constitution and the American public by Chief Justice John Roberts are only beginning to be realized.

If the NFIB decision pronounced an end to our liberty, the Court’s upcoming ruling in Bond vs U.S. has the potential to literally end the 240 year history of the United States. For at issue in this case is the following question: When the United States joins an international treaty, may Congress pass laws toward its implementation that violate the Constitution? The Obama Regime, through Solicitor General Donald Verrilli, says YES. For during oral arguments on November 5th, Verrilli told the Court that “…once a treaty is signed by the president and ratified by the Senate, Congress has the power to pass any law necessary and proper to implement the treaty.” ANY law! The constitutional limits on Congressional power may be ignored at the whim of lawmakers.

As a result, the United Nations would effectively make the laws by which the American people are governed. The UN Small Arms Treaty would, for example, wipe out the 2nd Amendment as international police acquire authority to order–even carry out–the disarming of the American people.

Army Veteran Recalls the Unforgettable Moment When a Judge Told Him: ‘Your Time in Iraq Makes you a Threat to Society’ (+video)

Photo Credit: YouTubeArmy veteran Andrew Chambers recently shared the story of how he was sentenced to ten years in prison after a judge allegedly told him that his service in the Iraq war makes him a “threat to society.” Video of his speech from prison for TEDxMarionCorrectional’s TEDxTalks is now going viral after being posted on Oct. 31.

After explaining that he decided to join the Army following the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, Chambers talked about the positive side of joining the U.S. military — traveling the world and experiencing different cultures. He was deployed to Iraq in 2004 after spending a year in Central America.

However, his experience in the devastated country took its toll. Chambers told his audience about the time he was working as a turret gunner on the top of a Humvee when gunfire erupted. He said he heard someone laughing and remembers asking himself, “who could be laughing at a time like this?”

As it turns out, it was he who was laughing.

“I felt like I was finally loosing control of that rage they (the military) taught me to harness,” Chambers said.

United Nations Elects Human Rights Violators to Human Rights Council

Photo Credit: APThe United Nations elected China, Cuba, Russia, and Saudi Arabia to seats on its Human Rights Council Tuesday, all countries that have been widely condemned by international groups for gross human rights violations.

The U.N. General Assembly (UNGA) cast votes for 14 seats on the 47-member Human Rights Council (HRC). The HRC is responsible for adopting resolutions that censure human rights abuses globally and placing special monitors on problem countries and issues.

“China, Cuba, Russia, and Saudi Arabia systematically violate the human rights of their own citizens, and they consistently vote the wrong way on U.N. initiatives to protect the human rights of others,” said Hillel Neuer, executive director of U.N. Watch, in a press release.

“When the U.N.’s highest human rights body becomes a case of the foxes guarding the henhouse, the world’s victims suffer,” he added.

France, Britain, South Africa, Vietnam, Algeria, Morocco, Namibia, Maldives, Macedonia, and Mexico also secured seats in the vote and will serve three-year terms.

Senate Duo Announces Bill Protecting 1.56M Acres of Arctic Refuge

Photo Credit: USFWS HeadquartersA bipartisan Senate duo introduced legislation on Wednesday that would section off 1.56 million acres of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge as wilderness.

Sen. Maria Cantwell (D-Wash.) and Sen. Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) bill would protect the Arctic Refuge’s coastal plain, which is the last of the original refuge without the wilderness designation.

The legislation would also preserve minimum hunting and traditional uses.

“The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge is a national treasure that must be preserved for future generations to experience and enjoy,” Cantwell said in a statement.

Former Federal Reserve Official : ‘I’m Sorry for QE’ (+video)

“My argument is not that QE was not at all useful,” he said on CNBC’s “Fast Money.”

“I believe that at the time, it was just one more tool that the Fed introduced to try to help the economy,” he said. “My point, ultimately, is the idea that very quickly into QE, it started becoming obvious that it wasn’t working in the way that it was supposed to.”

Huszar, a senior fellow at Rutgers Business School and a former managing director at Morgan Stanley, noted a few of the program’s unintended effects.

GOP Pulls Even with Democrats in Congressional Poll

Photo Credit: AP/Charles DharapakA new poll shows voter frustration toward Republicans has significantly waned in recent weeks, with the GOP negating a 9 percentage-point disadvantage in generic polling and now running even with Democrats.

If congressional elections were held today, 39 percent of voters would cast ballots for Republicans — the same percentage who would pick a Democrat, a Quinnipiac University poll says.

A Quinnipiac poll from Oct. 1 showed Democrats with 43-percent support, compared with 34 percent for Republicans.

In the latest poll, 37 percent of independent voters said they would vote for a Republican, while 26 percent said they would go with a Democrat — a big swing from the October survey that showed Democrats with a 32-30 advantage among independents.

Belief Obama’s ‘Honest and Trustworthy’ Hits All-Time Low

Nonetheless, 50 percent of those surveyed by Gallup do believe the president of the United States is an honest and trustworthy man.

Forty-seven percent do not.

Also hitting or matching all-time lows, according to Gallup, are the beliefs that Obama has a clear plan for solving the countries problems, that he can manage the government effectively, that he understands the problems Americans face in their daily lives, and that he is a strong and decisive leader.

On seven occasions, starting when Obama was running for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2008, Gallup has asked poll respondents: “Thinking about the following characteristics and qualities, please say whether you think each applies or doesn’t apply to Barack Obama. How about is honest and trustworthy?”

Cruz Backs Paul’s Strategy for Audit the Fed Vote

Photo Credit: Douglas Graham/CQ Roll Call File PhotoSen. Ted Cruz announced Wednesday that he is backing an effort by fellow Republican Rand Paul of Kentucky to get a vote on auditing the Federal Reserve as a condition for considering the nomination of Janet L. Yellen to be chairwoman of the Fed.

“I agree with Rand Paul: before the Senate votes on whether to confirm Janet Yellen, we should at the very least allow a vote on the Audit the Fed bill,” the Texas Republican said in a statement. “The Federal Reserve has expanded our money supply by trillions, benefiting Wall Street but making life harder for millions of Americans struggling to make ends meet.”

Paul and Cruz cannot block Yellen’s confirmation because Senate supporters could work around them with a cloture vote to limit debate and avert a possible filibuster.

Sexually Suggestive ObamaCare ad Called ‘Degrading’ to Women

Photo Credit: Fox News A sexually suggestive advertising campaign in support of Colorado’s health insurance exchange is taking heat, after the latest ad featured a woman boasting about her birth control while wondering how to get her man “between the covers.”

The ad, by ProgressNow Colorado and the Colorado Consumer Health Initiative, is being hammered as demeaning to women. It follows a prior ad from the same campaign featuring young men doing keg stands, under the banner “Got Insurance?”

“It’s degrading to women, and it says a lot about what they think of America’s youth today,” Rep. Cory Gardner, R-Colo., said of the latest ad.

The new ad shows a woman holding a packet of birth control pills, while a suave-looking young man stands next to her with his arm around her waist.
